so there was a new cr comic that basically showed crepe's parents being negligent (they left their brand new BABY behind and under the care of a wafflebot nanny in order to research magichanical engineering) and it made me:

1. redesign their younger ver.

2. REWRITE the backstory i made up for them

anyway, i think they were a pretty sad child. (they still are, but they're better at hiding it so they don't seem weak!)

The choice of a sunflower is definitely intentional. Flower meanings are really hard to precisely pin down, there’s just about no one solid “meaning” a flower can have, even in just one particular country.

So I would interpret the sunflower, a flower which literally means “flower that looks at the sun” in Korean, as a symbol of hope and looking towards a bright future.

As in, this sunflower is the symbol of Cacao and Choco’s current status towards each other in the story.

They’re apart, but they know that things will get better from now on.

This is also the message that’s being conveyed by Cacao and Choco’s fortune cookie advices.

“Sometimes, time is the only solution. Have patience.”

“Your wandering is over. Time to figure out what comes next.”

Things haven’t always been the way they are now. It’s Dark Enchantress (White Lily)’s war that tore them apart from each other. When they defeat her, they will be able to make up for all the lost years… And reach a bright tomorrow.
