HELLOOO lovely souls, Bringing you today some of my favorite arts I ever did for @quiet-nocturne fic overcome for the @royaibigbang!! 🩷🩷🩷 I had so much fun reading Nell’s fic, and such a hard time choosing which scenes to draw 😫 I ended up choosing these, a diner scene ( which just sounds so domestic and I feel in love with it ) the I wanted to f*** so bad scene ( was because I really wanted to highlight the fun times in the fic, but I am not that daring, so this just felt so in my comfort zone while still delivering that aspect! ) the last one, which probably is my favorite, “ I thought I lost you.” art which I think speaks for itself ✋🏻

overcome - snippet #5 [countdown to october 3rd]

overcome, chapter one:

She followed him out into the hall and into the main building of Eastern HQ, silently fuming to herself at how unusually silent the walk was.  Their walks across HQ used to be a time to decompress or prepare together, just the two of them. He never made jokes anymore. He never winked, laughed cheekily, slyly said things that he knew would make her lips quirk but her eyes roll in annoyance. He never complained about whoever he had to meet, never made fun of them after the meetings. He wasn't himself. He was just… professional, and so distant.  Sometimes she caught him looking at her from across the office - a mixture of wistfulness and uncertainty clouding his eyes, clearly afflicted, before he realized she was looking at him and smoothed his features back into an unreadable mask.  ‘We need to remain professional.’ Her own voice echoed back at her mockingly in her mind. This was not what she meant - she had wanted their bond to remain strong, unchanged. Perhaps that had been too much to hope for. There had been a bundle of pressure, heavy and painful like a rock sitting in her chest, right where her heart was, ever since she'd walked into work the next morning and he'd been like this - cold and distant and as though she hadn't known him since he was fourteen. A part of her wondered if she'd done the wrong thing that night, but she hadn't - it was her job to protect him, even from doing stupid things. Even if those things had to do with her. She'd thought if she gave him some time, let him lick his wounds and reevaluate, then he'd return to some semblance of normal, that their bond wouldn't suffer. But he hadn't, and it had been over three weeks now. Three dreadfully long weeks.  While they still worked well together, their natural cohesiveness was stilted and awkward now. She hated it, and she missed the way things were before.  It was nearly as bad as when Bradley had transferred her, except she was constantly in the same office as him, and yet a million miles were between them.

She deserved to live her own life, not wait around for him and his ambitions.

When a tragedy befalls their child, Roy and Riza are left devastated. They come together to work through it while waiting for her to wake from her injuries

The day is finally here!! Happy Royai Big Bang Day!!

What is a big bang? A big bang is a fan-led event in which writers and artists collaborate together to create long-form content. Each writer gets a selection of artists drawing for their story, and a beta-reader if they choose. This event gives creatives a chance to bring their ideas to life in the form of creative teams.

Over the last 8 or so months our teams have been working so hard together to create a big BANG of royai fics and art, and today's the day they finally get to show it off!

We've got over 550k words of fanfic in store for you from our writers, all lovingly looked over and edited by our wonderful beta team! And around 40 pieces of art to share from our artists, each piece tied into a specific fic!

A big bang indeed!

Here is part of my contribution to this @royaibigbang ! I got to work with such lovey people and an amazingly talented writer for this big bang! This story is so beautifully written and enthralling you will be hanging on every chapter! Go check out this fic and all of the other wonderful stories and art created for this event for this event!

Edward paused. He remembered this moment, somewhere in the recess of his brain. Fifteen years old, pocket change in the womb of his coat, dog shit tea smudged over his lips. He’d meant to leave and had glanced the Colonel pouring dogshit tea for Lieutenant Hawkeye. He remembered thinking, ‘He must hate her if he’s feeding her dogshit tea.’ He remembered, too, the oppressive intimacy of it. The Colonel’s eyes flickering to the Lieutenant’s lips. He’d looked away rather quickly.   Edward slipped the tea letter back into the pile and retrieved Roy’s letter he wrote following his strokes. Edward picked up where he left off.

She kept nearly jumping at the feeling of his fingers running through her hair - his touch was clinical, and not at all sensual, but her stupid brain was not taking it that way. His fingers felt good, entirely too good, and Riza was constantly feeling goosebumps running up and down her arms, stubbornly resisting the urge to shiver, or to lean into his touch like a cat.
