How Ed just jumped at him and might have almost killed him?? Yes, i thinking he might have killed that one person even if he was't the one in charge. I think Ed might have a crisis so Mama Riza ™️ helps him cope through that part? Because she was also young when she took her first life, ( aka 19ish ( i headcanon younger.)) and Ed is like 15-16 so she helps him, maybe Roy does too?? Since he was also young when he was deployed to Ishval ( i headcanon him 17 or 18 when he was sent there.)

But like, you are so right, Riza will be like one night, “ alright boys, i will be back by dawn, If you need anything, call Pinako.”

Ed, Al, Roy, “ ??? Mhm okay.”

Riza at 1 am, *fires her sniper at a few generals.* “ Oops. My hand slipped.” But seriously talking, i don't think Ed or Al would have minded Riza murdering these people. Maybe they take them to court because they have kidnapped a state alchemist and hurt an officer and from what i know that is illegal and should be punished, so maybe she kills them after court because it wasn't ruled out fairly? Hmm

ALSO I AM THIS 🤏🏻 CLOSE TO MAKING HIS MEN TRAITORS BECAUSE I LOVE THAT TROPE SM, IT HAS SO MUCH ANGST I WOULD SCREAM

but also like. His men are wholesome so i feel bad, but imagine the guilt they have? I truly liked your idea so so so much, and maybe they feel guilty after Riza comes?

Like they deliver Roy To his “ mission.” aka his kidnapping, they don't really think about it, but when Riza comes back from her mission and asks them what they were thinking, they feel this guilt and they try to fix things but 3 hot-headed blonds are very protective of their black haired man ( i know like, the 03 has Al as a brown haired person but god i love him as a blondie.) +Winry is there with her wrench ( beacue why mess with her uncle/ future father in law??) and Pinko is pissed “ don't come at my patient!”

Somehow the team, knows about the Mustang-Hawkeye-Elric family (or as i like to nickname them the Pegasus family.) and they come in visits and FOUND FAMILY DRAMA. I also want Roy To yell his guts out especially to his ma ( if we ever include her because i think that she is very interesting and she could be a good mother or bad mother!) i am just feeling the feels right now 😭

ALSO, i am just thinking about how evil the military was for Roy while he was a captive for like, maybe few weeks/ a couple of months? They could have absolutely destroyed him oh my god.

I am just imagining that first time Roy sees Riza and they don't talk, right, Because they are that close, only eyes are talking. So it is in Roy’s bedroom ( ahem Roy and the boys’ bedroom.) and she just sits on his bed and looks him in the eyes, and cups his cheeks and he breaks down ugly sobbing

This shouldn't be this fun but i am having so much fun. Also i am playing with the idea that Roy has some sort of memory loss the first few days after the rescue until he sees something in the Rockbell’s house that triggers him and he remembers?

Gonna be real, but i cannot stop thinking about recovery fics and how beautiful they are. They are amazing, the way we see the character gets better always just makes me feel so inspired, the way that they learn to get over- or get around- the thing that hurt them. The way that they learn to be alive and living. How to love themselves and embrace what happened to them.

As much as i love these types of fics, i only wrote like, two maybe? With this idea (I love and have written torture more than recovery) . And it got me thinking… why not write a whole recovery fic?

It is no secret that i love parental Roy and Riza to the Elrics, and how they take him after he was being hurt and help him recover and be better and feel better.

BUT

But.

I am proposing another idea. Same child parent dynamic. Roy And the Elrics. Here is what i am thinking:

Evil Millirty hating how good and you Mustang is and they know he is a threat + them setting up to kidnap him by evil gang or something + team Mustang for some reason not being that loyal in finding him + Elrics stop their red stone research and to find their missing dad CO+ THEM SAVING THIER ADULT + FAMILY DRAMA AND PROTECTIVE SONS™️= my new fic idea

Which has traumatized Roy who is trying his best not being so traumatized but in the middle of it all, the Elrics discover How badly hurt thier adult is!

WHO IS WITH ME!!?

HOLY, homoculs ( ik i wrote that wrong but i don't care ✨) in the Mix too?? God I love that idea so much. Which would mean that if they were the ones to kidnap Roy they will definitely come back later on to attack him and the rest👀

listen, evil Hughes pains me, but i was inspired by evil super man, and Hughes is such a Clark Kent so it hurts but fits so much 🥲

Maybe Roy never got the news of Meas dying because the kidnapping And the killing happened at the same day? Idk my brain is not working with me rn. But you are right, that way, no one might know that Meas died and everyone is thinking that the besties are together in a mission and then Riza comes and is like, “ and none of you heard of them in how long??” and everyone feels guilty and then she and the Elrics somehow get in contact and bam?

BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT I LOVE YOUR IDEA SO MUCH!! just gotta find a motive for the sins to kidnap Roy And not one of the other sacrifices 🙂‍↕️

maybe Maes and Roy did go together on a mission originally and on the way there Meas was murdered and Roy was kidnapped?

Madam Christmas is mostly just built on my headcanons 💀 people often forget how much potential she has besides her being a way to give Roy info

AND FOR THE AL AND ED TRYING TO BREAK THROUGH TO ROY! Here is an idea about when they realized that Roy wasn't 100% with them:

Edward watched as the man he just murdered- murdered!- fall slowly to his side, as a pool of his Dark blood started to spread under him. The alchemist felt his body shake. With rage? With anger? Fear or shock?

He didn't know what happened, he faintly remembered the colonel being on the ground not moving as that bastard beating him up and- wait, colonel!

The boy turned to see his brother hovering over the chains and shackles that adorned the skinny bruised ankle and wrists, the man’s shallow face was painted in ugly bruises and thin long lines of dark browns and reds, “ big brother?” Alphonse asked worriedly, his soul eyes slightly shifted to the dead body, “ how is he?” noticing how his older brother talking, he got the hint that he didn't want to talk about it now, hopefully, they’d be able to talk about it later.

“ he seems alive, but severely injured.”

“ hm, it's good that we took uncle yuri’s old car then.” As Ed mumbled that last line he started to examaine the older alchemist, as his younger brother undid the chains.

Their action might have caused loud noises, because the colonel started to stir slowly, and squeez his already closed eyes tighter, “ please.” his voice peeped horssly almost not hearable, “ no more… i swear i don't know… please.”

It was strange, hearing the man that they looked up to sound and look both weak and, well, pathetic In a way.

“ Oi colonel bastard, it is us, Ed and Al.” Ed said as he inched closer to the man who slowly, opened his dark eyes. Al watched as The dark and clouded pupils still at their sight, and for a moment, he felt that maybe they weren't late.

But, much like many other things in the Elrics’ young lives, their spirit came crashing the moment Roy whispered, “ who… are you? I swear i know nothing, please! Please… please don't hurt me more.”

Angst is my middle name 💅🏻

also Ed would never in a hundred years admin it that he is cuddling Roy to calm himself down, he is just a tiny guy who needs to feel his dad alive under “ helping him jeep warm” excuse haha

Alright, we have the king and queen! I think it will be easier to say what i like haha

I personally love writing Roy And Riza, and build their characters according to my own headcanons while still mixing the canon aspect of them.

When writing Roy, i like making him this smart, wit and clever man, while still making him sound young and naive at times when he talks to the higher ups. I don't like making him slack in his paperwork- even if it was just a decoy in front of everyone- i just don't see him like that. I like making him emotionally aware, Lots of people write him as... not emotionally aware i guess? Roy might not be an emotional person and He is more of logical one. Roy Is flawed and i like to stress that while making sure that hey he still tries his best to be a good friend, husband, son, and father, as well as a good leader.

When it comes to Riza, she is a lot based on my mom haha. I love writing her as wise, stable, and with a strong stand woman, while still giving her that emotional intelligence and making her as well an emotional person, I love making her feminine while staying a very strong soldier. People often write Riza as a very stoic, hard-to-smile woman, but in reality ( and in canon!!) Riza often can be seen laughing a “tehehe”. Riza is very smart and I do believe she would have had a PhD and master's in any major she could have entered. She is kind and loving, and very skilled, and i like to keep that in mind while writing her.

Together, Roy And Riza, i love making them have this strong dynamic. Regardless if they were married or not, if they were commander and subordinate, Royai is a very strong team, and have each other's back, and can be seen working together as a very strong oiled machine. I love also keeping the traditional “ masculine man and feminine woman.” dynamic. WHILE, keeping them strong and standing as individuals.

Riza is Roy’s bodyguard, but I like to think Roy Is hers as well. They love and protect each other, and complete each other, and that is one of the many reasons i love them and love writing them 🫶🏻
