Oh, How The Foreign Lands Are Beautiful,

Oh, how the foreign lands are beautiful,

And how tempting they are,

And how they lure you in,

And how long your stay there is.

And then you crave the familiarity of home.

You travel back, trekking through hours of travel,

Just to find yourself back where you started.

Hello, hello, hello! This is my first post! I've just made it back home from a vacation, and I thought Why not write a poem? So I did! This poem is about the allure of vacations, but not feeling fulfilled during them, and then, when you get home, wishing you were back on vacation.

While I personally want to believe that ghosts can feel each other even if they can't feel the living or objects properly it makes the boys experiences in hell even more intense if they can't.

Think about it. They seem to be corporeal in hell, hence then being able to see their reflections. And they both really react to the surprise of being able to see themselves.

If this is so you have to think they are able to feel things in hell as well. This means that when Edwin grabs Charles' mouth to silence him it is the first time they have EVER been able to feel each other.

Everything about the way Charles touches and holds Edwin after his confession is doubly as intense when viewed with this in mind.

personally, i think we don't give jenny enough credit. she took in two very obviously underaged people, dealt with all of their strange habits like yelling to themselves or "using" her shop as a hangout spot or cussing out her customers or even their strange lack of boundaries with her, survived an implied serial killer date, and was willing to follow crystal with a knife when she thought she was going to confront her abusive ex.

jenny deserves the world and i hope we get season 2 so she can have it

Hi Neil

Do you think its possible to get recognition as an artist (of any kind, singer/songwriter, author, painter, video game creator) without also being good at marketing and social media?

It feels like these days, success and recognition is all dependent on how present you are, constantly advertising a product even if you aren’t selling it.

I just wish I could be one of those people who publicize a hit game or hit book and dont interact online and comment on anything but people still see it and like it — because I just want to share my creations but with appreciation for it.

I know its “make art for yourself!” Which I do, but I want the art I make for myself to also make others happy and connect with my work. I just feel intimidated and uncomfortable by Big Social Media and Algorithms and Following Trends etc.

Then just make the art and don’t worry about it. I used to do Twitter because I loved doing Twitter. I’m only here on Tumblr because I enjoy being on Tumblr. I’m around a bit on Bluesky because the people seem nice.

Mostly what I miss are the online communities that existed when I was young, none of which were about advertising product and all of which were about connecting with like-minded others. I miss CompuServe and GEnie in particular.

I think the age of Social Media as advertising feels like it’s drawing to a close.
