1: Marco’s proposal to Star. I really can’t color the background like I wanted to. 2: Starco wedding. If anyone is curious whether they go by Butterfly or Díaz, it’s both. Officially it’s Marco Butterfly but when out casually Star will refer to herself as Star Diaz. 3: Coronation. 4: The birth of their daughter, Soluna Butterfly. Soluna will be the final person naturally born with magic and cheek emblems, everyone else has to earn them. She went through a lot of cheek emblem designs, the first were red hearts early on until I decided she wouldn’t get the same shape as her mother. I did a whole page of cheek mark ideas and almost used four hearts that made a clover (like the Fresh Pretty Cure symbol minus the diamond.) then one day I was scrolling through my magical girl gallery and I stopped on an image of the Astoria Tact from the 80’s Sally the Witch anime and was inspired to use the tip of the wand as her symbol. 1: Star and Marco waking up after the final battle (Ch.29)

2: Star comforting Marco after another magic outburst (Ch.30) While Marco’s newfound magic is as powerful as Star’s it is much more unstable as a side effect of his circumstances. The fresh trauma of his memories of what he did under Ragnarok’s control only makes the surges of his magic worse. Thankfully Star refuses to leave his side and helps him work through his problems.

3: College age Starco (18-19) The two finally start living together permanently for the first time since the cleave. For their second year onwards they become the Vice President and president of the student council respectively.

4: College age Starfan13 AKA Darcy Nefon. I remember a while back one of the crew members jokingly answered that ‘Darcy Nefon’ was Starfan13’s real name on tumblr and I just totally accepted it as canon. She bedazzles her hearts instead of painting them on now. After the previous student council president literally lost his leg she took over but quickly realized she was not much of a leader.

5: Toddler Mariposa Diaz (3 and a half) Very adventurous and smart for her age. She and Meteora dream of being inter dimensional adventurers and fighting bad guys. Her best friend, brother and future sister in law all have powerful magic and she wants to unlock hers as soon as she can.

1: Ragnarok, the Spirit of Destruction. I wanted a villain that was neither Mewman or monster that connected with the corruption of the realm of magic and Eclipsa’s unnamed spell. His first design was more beastly but it made him look more like a monster so I went with a skeletal design (that sadly lost a lot of detail when I colored it). His body is rotting flesh on top and shadows on bottom. I imagine him with DarkKnightmons voice from Digimon Fusion.

2: Starco reunited once more after Star breaks Ragnarok’s hold on Marco (Ch.28)

3: Starco combining light and dark magic into a new form as they reformat Ragnarok (Ch.29)

4: The Blood Moon’s True Form as the Spirit of Souls. I actually designed the BM spirit all the way back during the hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, while her ‘Cure Scarlet’ inspired outfit remained the same over the years, her physical body changed overtime (strangely enough my first hairstyle for her was almost identical to Hekapoo’s). I never really read any other docs that treated the Blood Moon as an actual character and not a plot device, she and Ragnarok knew each other before he went crazy trying to destroy everything. Blood Moon is actually a nickname given by the demons, only a few spirits know her actual name. I imagine her voice sounding like Daphne from the Nick dub of Winx Club.

5: Hank, The genderless dragon-unicorn hybrid created by Star and Marco to make sure no one misuses magic again. I don’t even know where the name Hank came from, it’s just the first name I thought of.

1: Adult Starco (on duty), the two soulmates ruling the country of Earthni together. Other than being queen and king and becoming parents not much has changed for these two.

2: Adult Starco (off duty), when not in the castle or on official business, the couple do the stuff they’ve always done; have fun and go on adventures. Marco still buys red hoodies, but even the biggest size doesn’t fit completely over his abs (which his wife has claimed as her property). Star’s outfit is the same one from the unaired pilot of the show.

3: Adult Jantom, the king and queen of the Underworld. Tom’s design comes from a sketch by one of the artists on the show (Hugbees?) which I accept as his canon adult look, I just designed the outfit. Janna ‘s dress was more detailed in earlier drafts, looking a lot more like Eas from Fresh Pretty Cure initially. They dote on their daughter Mandy, with Tom teaching her demon powers and Janna encouraging her to continue the legacy of ‘Jannanigans’.
