We as a fandom are so lucky to live in a world where the "Book Of" series exists.

It’s so cute seeing other fandoms complain about their really good anime adaptations meanwhile s1 and 2 of Kuro are just… bad. Just an absolute dumpster fire. Like I’m seeing people complaining because some of the Hellsing characters were drawn slightly differently in Ultimate, I’m seeing BSD fans talk about how they ever so slightly tweaked this one panel from the manga.

Babygirl, they added a whole two and a half seasons of non-canon wacko nonsense. They added a naked dog-man. They spoiled a major plot twist of the manga. They took a hacksaw to like three whole characters personalities. They added the Alice in Wonderland OVA.

have you ever read a fanfic so good that you wanted to write a fanfic about that fanfic, but was too shy / too intimidated to ask for the author’s permission and too afraid that your writing wouldn’t be half as good as theirs and that it would be an insult to their work that was basically a literal masterpiece, so you just sat there fantasizing about their work and how beautiful it was and how you wished you could just eat it and how you wished canon could write your blorbos half as good as this writer did and how you just wanted to cry because you just loved that fic so much????

People who ship Alastor and say, "but aroace people can still be in relationships and have sex."

Yes, that's 100% correct.

But have you considered that an aroace person in a relationship is still aroace?

Unless you're mindful of this when shipping a character with this identity, you're just using it as an excuse. I'm aroace myself and when I was in a relationship, I was still romance-repulsed and experienced zero physical attraction towards that person. Having a partner didn't change anything. I still loved them, just not romantically.

Why isn't this explored more in fics? Why is it never mentioned?

I'm not against shipping him with other characters. In fact, I'd love to read a fic where Alastor navigates a relationship as an aroace individual, just as much as I want to read about him not wanting to be in a relationship at all.

Please, don't erase his identity. That's all I'm asking. Feel free to ship whatever and whomever you like.
