Hazbin Alastor - Tumblr Posts
You know what the ultimately irony of the Alastor-Vox dynamic is?
I’m pretty sure we’re eventually going to find out that it’s actually Alastor who is truly jealous of VOX. Because Vox actually HAS what Alastor is simply pretending to be.
See, as I’ve discussed in previous posts, at this point I think it’s a pretty safe bet that NONE of Alastor’s power is truly his, instead coming from and being bound to the ‘leash’ that he’s on. We hear from Mimzie in the same episode that Alastor somehow was ALWAYS this freakishly powerful. That whereas other Overlords had to build up their power, Alastor somehow already had all this power the moment he appeared in Hell.
Which combined with the whole ‘leash’ reveal and Alastor’s fixation on making deals makes for a pretty easily conclusion to draw: That Alastor actually cheated the system by making a deal with someone MUCH more powerful (Lilith, or someone similar), likely before he even died. And in turn, all of his power is bound TO that deal and whoever his benefactor is.
Which in turn means that literally all of the other Overlords, INCLUDING VOX, have something that Alastor doesn’t: Their power, their respect, their influence, it’s all truly theirs. While Alastor is a FRAUD.
Something that Alastor is very much aware of.
And this is the real reason why Alastor loves messing with Vox:
It’s a power-trip.
Vox, this overlord who has all the things Alastor secretly craves and is likely so jealous of, is actually jealous of him! Vox is obsessed with him, is intimidated by him, actually sees him as an equal if not better. And Alastor LOVES this attention.
Bullying Vox like he does and the attention Vox gives him in return is the ULTIMATE ego-stroking for Alastor. Because he makes Alastor feel like he really is one of these great players with the power, respect and freedom to do whatever they want.
Even though he most certainly is NOT.
For my Hazbin Hotel redesigns I am going to start off with Vaggie and Charlie. Then next will be Angel Dust and Alastar. Next Nifty and Husk. Last I am probably doing Cherry and Sir Pentious. I might do some other characters but that is based on wether I feel like it. I might also change some of their names because not going to lie some of them sound bad.
P.S. I might also do some Helluva Boss redesigns even though I find that show a little more bearable than Hazbin Hotel.
Here are some other notes for the other character redesigns.
Husk- Since I made two characters hefty already I want to make Husk a bit more bulky. More semi muscular. I am also going to give him clothing because he needs to look presentable as a bartender.
Nifty- I am not going to change much because I already like her design but I am making her more bug like. But I am also going to lean in more on the 50s clothing style.
Cherri bomb- I also like her design but I want to lean in on a 80s punk fashion because I believe it suits her. I am giving her messier hair, leather jacket with leather pants, and more red color motifs.
Sir Pentious- Not much I can say but make him more snake like.
Alastor- I saved him for last because I have a lot of ideas but I can’t settle on what to go for. But some key design changes are that I am using Cab Calloway as reference for him because he is canonically creole which means he is black and European. I am also putting more radio motifs for him to really sell him as the “Radio Demon.” My only obstacle is how I should implement the deer in his design.
I think might just stop at the main cast because I don’t really feel like redesigning the rest such as Valentino, Vox, Velvet, Sera, Emily, Adam, or Lute. But I also want to do Helluva Boss redesigns because I really like Helluva Boss.
Made this today. I've been pumping these out so fast, at this point, I'm going to start running out of ideas for projects to do.
Love this guy though.
And finally a fully finished version of Alastor. I realized my dumb ass forgot to finish the lighting and details on his monocle. So, here he is! In all his fully rendered glory!

Let’s begin!
The first day you checked in the Hazbin Hotel he came up to you. “Hello Dear! And what does a sinner like you do here?” You just look down with a frown on your face. He pulls your chin up to look at him “Smile dear! You’re never fully dressed without one!”
He never makes the first move. He patently waits till someone approaches him just to turn them down.
The first time you saw him eat lunch you were… disturbed to say the least. You knew that cannibals are common in hell but you never saw one in person.
You were a long fan of Alastor. You listened to his broadcasts long before you met him in person. You were also super sad when he went missing for 7 years.
Alastor walks around hell knowing that no one’s going to challenge him. So he hums sweet melodies to himself while walking around.
He loves to dance with you while listening to jazz music.
After he lost Mimzy he had basically no friends at all that he knew from the living realm. Not that it matters to him but you feel sad somehow.
He drinks wine mixed with blood. Only sometimes though since he begins to ramble when he’s drunk. “Have you listened to my RADIO broadcast before dear??”
He was suspicious of you when you first entered. He didn’t know if you truly wanted to be here. You might cause trouble to him.
He has a bunch of scars on his body due to his fights back in the day.
He is an excellent cook. He sometimes prepares breakfast for the people in the hotel.
Charlie is such a cutie. She’ll go up to you and ask if you and alastor are doing well. And if you’d say “no” she’ll try to cheer you up.
He loves taking you out to fancy dinners around the town. No one interrupts your little dates. “Are you enjoying it, dear?”
Sometimes when you’re overwhelmed with everything he comes into your room and puts up some relaxing jazz. “Care to dance with me my love?” You nod and begin to dance.
He lets you touch his ears occasionally. You can tell they’re well maintained by the fluffiness. You even asked if you can see his tail. He allowed it after a long discussion.
Husk and niffty get along with you super well. You began talking to them, trying to get more out of them about Alastor. Husk would tell you about his past if it was appropriate.
When you asked him if he’s sad about not having any friends he just laughed. “Haha! Dear you know I’m better off without them.” He smiles brightly.
He sings under the shower. Mostly old jazz songs.
Cats>>>> Dogs. Mostly related to his past but he’s over all a cat person.
He wouldn’t understand the new terms for the sexual agenda, even though Charlie tried to explain it to him multiple times.
He and Rosie are best friends since forever. He also promotes her shop every now and then.
He’s super old fashioned so he’d call you “Dear” or “My love”.
He actually cares about the reputation and safety of the hotel.
He is a mamas boy. He treats woman super nicely since his mom raised him to be a gentleman.
Him and Zestial were fighting buddies back in the early days of hell. He calls Zestial old just to piss him off.
He likes being the small spoon while cuddling.
He punched Susan once after she called his staff tacky and useless. She truly is an old bitch.
He used to live in cannibal town near Rosie. They would go out and talk about everything.
Rosie was the one to show him how to style his hair. She also did his makeup once and since then he never tried a new style.
He defends you every time someone is mean to you. “Huh? Oh… I shouldn’t have killed them? Well! It’s done now so there’s no going back!”

Hazbin Hotel HP au where Al for one reason or another takes a small slip of his soul and plants it into the one entity he knows would follow him whereever he goes, his shadow. Thus creating himself a nice lil horcrux. Imagine his surprise however, when his shadow comes to life after. He's rather annoyed at this unexpected development no he isn't he's ecstatic even finally a friend- He tries to keep it under wraps at first, and is even very very successful at it, but is eventually found out by none other than his most delightful senior Rosie.
