Little by little you woke up and still with your eyes ajar and your movements slow, you turned to the other side of the bed crossing your boyfriend’s eyes still closed while he slept blissfully.

today is my birthday…

You thought while you closed your eyes realizing it was still actually early to wake up and go make breakfast

You went back to sleep and woke up an hour later thanks to the smell of a great breakfast and the noise of the bedroom door opening.

You sat you on the bed while your boyfriend tried to close the door without making too much noise, he thought you were still sleeping.

He almost had a fit when he saw you were awake.

"O-Oh, I didn’t mean to wake you up, sweety. I’ll come back later" he said as he was about to walk out the door but you stopped him: "I was already awake Atsushi, don’t worry!" You answered him with a smile.

Only then did you notice he had a tray in his hand.

"Got it..... Oh and I made you breakfast, I hope you like it!"

Aww that cute, he made you your favourite breakfast!

“Oh my- thank you Atsushi! but you didn’t have to!”You replied

“But darling..it’s your birthday, You deserve this and much else!”

You wanted to replicate again, but you knew that any effort you made to keep your boyfriend from straining too much would be in vain.

You showed him a beautiful smile and then you started eating breakfast while complimenting him telling him how good is the breakfast.

“i’m happy you like it” He said giving you a forehead kiss.

That day he took you with him to the agency, you didn’t know why but hey, it was always nice to see your friends.

Actually, that day for lunch Yosano-sensei and Ranpo invited you to with them for lunch. obviously you three went to the mc donalds with a certain writer named poe and a raccoon

You were a little sad to leave Atsushi but he was the one who made you go so you guess is okey.

You had a nice afternoon, actually

But the best part is when you came back to the agency..

.. They prepared a surprise party for you!

Your heart started to beat fast, your cheeks turned red and your eyes lit up as the whole agency started singing 'Happy Birthday'.

Ofc ofc they prepared you gifts.

Among the various gifts, such as the bandages that Dazai gave you or the candies that Ranpo gave you, there was obviously the gift of Atsushi.

"I hope you like it.. I’m sorry if it’s not enough or you don’t like it" he almost whispered.

You opened the box and inside you see a silver bracelet with a black writing: 'Your yang'

You were a little confused and only when Atsushi raised his wrist showing a black bracelet with a silver writing on it: 'Your Yin'

“Atsushi please..This is so beautiful!” You said that when you held him in your arms in a hug.

“W-wait...Really?” He asked.

“Yes, of course! This is the best gift someone gave me in my entire life!!.. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to give you an equally beautiful gift..”

He kissed you.

“No sense my love..You’re the best gift i could ever ask in my entire life”

-Once he starts pampering you, he never wants to stop

-But if anyone ever found out about you two cuddling, he would say that you are the one in need of affection and that he, as a good boyfriend, grants your wish.

-“Me? Pffff no! I don’t need affection from my girlfriend, she’s the one who need it and as a good boyfriend i have to make her feel loved, am i wrong? I don’t think so”

-and if you are a vindictive person then as soon as you find out about this, for 'punishment' you will not cuddle him for quite a while until he will ask you by himself.

He feels very sorry for you, even though he can understand you in his own way.

He loves your empathetic character but hates the fact that people take advantage of it

He just wants to keep you away from all those people who meddle in dangerous matters that don’t concern you

But he finds absolutely adorable that you help people you barely know, such as elderly people who have to cross the street or tourists who are visibly struggling and can’t figure out where to go.

To him, you’re one of the kindest people in the world, and it breaks his heart when he sees you getting hurt about things that affect other people.

Oh I would love to write that he will be considerate to you and that will make pay to all those who make you feel bad but I must remember that Nikolai is still Nikolai

He finds it adorable how your feelings vary depending on other people, how you adapt to them and how you do everything to protect what is right for you

The first time he saw you crying/feeling bad about something that happened to someone else, he was amazed. He didn’t think a person could be so... human.
