Sinkhole
Sinkhole
This podcast did something different that made me want to listen more and more and that is data restoration and archiving. A lot of newer podcasts have the setting of an archive as that lets you do a lot of cool things and with the popularity of the magnas archive, it has become a rather convenient setting. But sinkhole is about a nerd that's into data restoration in a future where you can feel the emotions of those that record it if you get something put in your skull. Our main character lives near an anomalous sinkhole that messes with data and space. They are a survivor of that sinkhole and by that they are sunken so they can not get a thing in their mind. I think that this is a really interesting podcast that brings up ideas of privacy and the need of formatting for those that can not afford certain tech or that their bodys are not able to interface, As of mar 28 2023 sinkhole has two seasons out and season 3 is being made. I rank it B over Ghost Wax

As this podcast is getting another season, I want to get this out fast. It's a fairly interesting podcast as I love it when someone uncovers a hidden truth about their family. I find the idea interesting as I have been doing research on my own family and what we did in the past as I have a horrible memory and can not remember with certainty anything before middle school even that is fuzzy. Maybe my home was made on top of a native burial ground or a concept shark ate my memory. Each episode is about 15 to 20 minutes long and has some rather good folly work. Folly work can make or break a podcast, unwell is one podcast you can point to for great folly work and there's a long long list of really cool folly work that i will not reference.
house of leaves
House of leaves is the book you point to when talking of ergodic books as it does in a very easy way to see. It is very hard to read if it is the first ergodic book you read as I did, certain times are so out of left field that I just started skipping johnny's writings and focused mainly on the Navidson record. But all the things that made this book difficult to read was what made me want to read this book more, words climbing up the page both literally and figuratively, the way colored text is used. Some of the best parts of the book are when the Navidson record took more of a back seat. That part is when Karen Green takes the stage as the main character, before this she is left to the wayside as Will Navidson (navy) is the eyes we see through for most of the book. It is a good change of pace to see what she sees after he is eatan my the house. Showing the world around the house by showing what the folks that navy knows think about what he has recorded. Parts of this book feel like I am watching a movie, maybe it is because of my love for the background of movies but it just spoke to me.
At the end of the day it is a good book but it should not be the first ergodic book you read.
Desert gods
I listened to this during a break so I was desperate for any new podcast to listen to wall I played my games or did house work, and I started it when it was still at only 3 episodes now it is at 4 and at that time I thought that this podcast was dropped by its network. I was saddened by the idea that a good new podcast like this was dropped but now I know it's just in production. This story follows a boy trying to run from his desany and keeping his now father figure close to him. The voice acting of the main character is rather good, i am not a huge fan of most child characters as they tend to sound really bad but they did it well here and i hope to see more from them. Not finished but it gets a really solid 80% we will see if it can get 100% when it is finished
the leaving
this is a tame book. nun of the formatting is something you have not seen before if you are into strangely formatted books but what it does do well is its use of its formatting. the basic plot of the book is that 6 kids go missing and 5 come back 11 years latter with no memory of the past but with knowledge and skill. we only follow 2 of the 5 kids that come back and the sister of the boy that did not come back. at first i was not a fan of not following all 5 but it makes sense not to as that much wound be to much to track. their is a part when Lucas shakes the hand of a brain scientist and does not what to let go and the first thing that hit me was oh this is going to have a gay sub plot but i was wrong he is just so lonely. the only parts of the book that use strange formatting is when we follow the the kids that came back their names are Lucas and Scarlett. lucas formatting has what reminds me of the life eqashon in the mister mirical comic whare it fills the pannel with darkside is, like a intrusive thoute. scarletts formatting is more like house of leaves ware the words shape to what is going on. i relly liked it. thare are certen parts that i do not like, i am not a big fan of romance but this does it pretty well.
over all i think it is a solid 8/10 its worth your time if you like the idea of exploreing the idea of memory and human canexons
i have typed the word book so much it does not look like a real word
Inhale
When I went to see if there was a site for this podcast and by extension a press kit, I saw that the same person made The Behemoth, The Fiona Potts Interview, and Carbon Dreams. I have been seeing things like this more and more as I do this. I think I talk about the other podcast but I stuck out to me with this one as I loved The Behemoth and The Fiona Potts Interview, they are so interesting. I had to go back and check if i finished this one but i did remember this podcasts concept as when i did listen to this podcast i loved the idea, alot of Rick Coste podcasts have great concepts that you should check out pertiuly The Behemoth and The Fiona Potts Interview.
