★ — A brief scowl flickers over the kid's features ; of course the other security guard can't get him out of here. He's glad he didn't get his hopes up at the sight of another security guard, one that hadn't spent the day following after him like a shadow as he moved throughout the pizzaplex. No, Gregory's been resigned to spend the night running for his life ( and fighting back, if he absolutely has to, however he possibly can ) since realizing the doors were locked shut.

His heart leaps into his throat at the suggestion of staying locked in a room for the remainder of the night, clear panic flashing in his eyes. The flashlight stays trained forward, but he takes a step back, as if preparing to run. He was as good as dead if he stayed put for too long — it would only be a matter of time before the bunny found him, just like with lost and found.

"No — no, no, no, no. They'll — they'll be able to get me, I know they will, someone's already overriding their programming, and then Freddy won't be able to help because they'll know I'm in there!"

Voice grows in pitch as he continues to speak, his usually harsh composure giving way to the fear that lurks just beneath the surface. For as tough as Gregory may be acting throughout the night, he's still just a scared kid.

"This isn't — they're not just acting weird, they're hunting me! They know my name! Even Freddy didn't know my name! They're trying to kill me! Something wants to keep me here so it can kill me! The only thing I can do is keep running."

❝ okay, um, it's okay. ❞ HE TAKES A DEEP BREATH, sighing heavily. there's got to be a way to convince this kid devon's not out to hurt him. so he came in earlier in the day. he's already established that he snuck inside of freddy's chest cavity from freddy himself, but that doesn't explain why he did it. there has to be a reason gregory decided to stay after hours. has he been hiding from vanessa the whole time ?? devon's going to get to the bottom of this, one way or another. he feels bad for gregory, he really does. a scared kid surrounded by things that want to kill you. which isn't normal at all, the glamrocks have NEVER wanted to hurt anyone before. everyone assumed the incident with bonnie and monty was just a fluke, a glitch in the ai's programming that made bonnie jealous.

❝ okay... unfortunately, despite my security clearance level being as high as the company allows, i can't reprogram the doors to open right now, so going out the way you came in is out of the question. ❞ DEVON TAKES A SECOND TO LOOK AROUND, trying to figure out the best course of action. loading dock is also out of the question, since freddy had suggested that already. jesus, this is harder than he thought. all the emergency exits are blocked off as well, since they're just doors with alarms. not that he wants to set off an alarm. that might make vanessa suspicious of him and he'd rather not get on her bad side right now, she's having a shitty night.

WELL, there's always the option of locking the kid in his office. no one's allowed in there without his permission and clearance level. not even the animatronics. but it's out of the way, and he's not sure gregory will agree to that idea. hell, he's not sure gregory will even follow him. for all he knows, he could run away the second devon takes his eyes off of him. gregory wouldn't be the first kid to get locked in his office, though, since it happens AT LEAST four times a week due to negligent parents. he'll still ask if gregory is okay with doing that, though.

❝ are you okay with staying in my office until six, kiddo ?? you can bring freddy if you want, he's allowed in there if i give him the go ahead. his programming says he has to have my permission. i promise it's safe in there, there were a few kids in there earlier in the day when i was looking for their parents. i understand if you're not okay with that, though. scary security guard locking you in a room and all. ❞

It's taking everything in the young boy not to turn - tail and bolt, back into the shadows, back through the spaces only a child can fit through, back to the safety of the animatronic bear that's been his only ally throughout this ordeal.

Huffed accusation, not quite a shout but certainly spoken with force. Gregory doesn't make any move closer, despite all the placating moves Devon makes. He doesn't trust him. Rarely trusts adults under normal circumstances, but especially not now.

"I came in through the front door. S'not my fault I got locked in — I tried to leave, but we didn't make it in time."

He's conveniently leaving out the fact that he snuck in with a large birthday party earlier, in the morning, and spent most of the day sneaking around among the chaos of the day crowd. It's the only answer Gregory will provide, pointedly ignoring the rest of the questions thrown his way.

❝ it's okay, it's okay !! i'm not going to hurt you. ❞ HE HOLDS HIS HANDS UP DEFENSIVELY, backing away from @braveburned. he understands if the kid's leery, he's heard how he's talked about vanessa through freddy. freddy's been devon's eyes and ears all night, something he hadn't intended on happening. yes, he's let the ai do most of its own work, but he's been in the back of freddy's head, just keeping an eye on the kid to make sure he doesn't get hurt. he thinks he said his name was gregory ?? not that he'd ever let the kid know he knows, it would probably just make him think devon's working with vanessa even more. as if the security guard uniform and lanyard of building keys in his righ hand didn't already make that assumption possible.

HE DOESN'T STEP CLOSER TO THE BOY, he stays put and waits to see if the younger one comes to him, lowering his hands to show that he's not going to do anything drastic. ❝ i'm not on her side, i'm on my side. i don't trust vanessa, either. are you okay ?? you're not hurt or anything, are you ?? i have first aid if you need patching up. what's your name, kiddo ?? how did you even get in here ?? ❞ devon's just trying to establish some form of trust, even if he knows that's probably next to impossible. he'd never even seen the kid come in the lobby on the cameras, and he sees everything. there had to be some way he got in the pizzaplex. and maybe there's a way devon can help him get out early.
