I just write SMUT and I have this problem. So I can’t even imagine what it’s like for long form fic writers. 😱

Me to me: Don't do it. Don't rewrite the older chapters. Just leave them be. They're wonderful, you've grown as a writer, you loved them when you posted them. Just leave them, no one cares

They will need to produce his body before I believe he’s really dead. I don’t care what else happens in canon.

He’s taming monsters on Eriadu. He’s deep cover as an imperial. He decided “fuck it” and started a family.

Until there’s a canon body, no one can tell me I’m wrong.

At the end of the day, I simply cannot agree that it's better for Tech to remain dead than to only be revealed as alive in the final episode. I get it if some folks would rather that than his return be handled badly, but it's not an outlook I can share.

I do think it sucks he's been gone, in effect, all season and it isn't particularly compelling writing to me with all the other options on the table. But I'll take him being alive over 'he died and we never actually show grief beyond the things he can do for us', not even a single statement to the effect of 'as long as we X he's still with us' etc. Nothing at all like that.

It'll definitely suck if he is in fact just dead but I do feel he isn't, and I don't think it's better if he is.
