I suddenly wanted to draw horseman! Peter - something for a story where Apocalypse manipulates a depressed Peter, forcing Erik to desperately fight in order to get his son back. I'd like to see Peter being too afraid of becoming alone again, already responsible for mass destruction and further spiraling down into a darker path prompted by en sabah nur. Esp inspired by this fic by @fouralignments, was really fun to draw.

<Storyline behind the image>:

The storyline I had in mind when I drew this was this: Peter lived an isolated life until the events of Apocalypse, all alone and depressed. He did find Erik but felt betrayed that he started a new family, sad and jealous of Nina, watching the happy family from far away. At some point Peter loathes that he's born a mutant because he can't seem to fit in society or his human family, and blames Erik further. Anyways Apocalypse finds Peter and sees something different and unique in him, decides to recruit him. He gives special treatment and acts possesive and loving to Peter. Peter loves the attention and is finally happy and feels like he's worth something after years of grief. Even if Peter didn't start out as a horseman I thought he would volunteer to do the hard work because some people who grew up unloved can't handle unconditional love- they believe they have to prove that they deserve it.

So Peter feels debted and works for Apocalypse, causes destruction which makes Erik confront Peter to protect his new family. Peter gets furious that Erik came because of his new family and not for Peter, spills the beans and beats up a startled Erik. (Maybe the golden tear marks can emerge at this point)

His mother and sister terrified of him and having nothing left to lay back to, Peter spirals further down into an apathetic darker path and grows closer and closer to Apocalypse. But at some point he finally notices how much blood he covered his hands with and collapses, suddenly hollow and aimless, losing who he is and overwhelmed by what he's done (Which is why in the drawing Peter's arms are covered in blood). He's ashamed, sad, panicking and doesn't know what to do- he hides in a cloak and wanders around.

Meanwhile Erik and Apocalypse is desperate to find Peter first, fighting each other to lead Peter towards the 'right' path they respectively believe.

That's all I thought but to add one more- despite painful and hard, Peter taking agency and making his own path regardless of what his influencers want would be nice to see. Also want to see Peter healing his wounds and taking responsibility of what he's committed.

1) Wanda and Pietro Maximoff in the MCU were whitewashed. They’ve been Romani in the comics for the last 42 years. If you don’t understand the nuances of Romani culture vs. Romani ethnicity vs. Romani genetics, you can read my original post on it right here. Or, if you don’t trust me as a source, the Roma Culture Centre discusses it right here.

2) MCU Wanda and Pietro willingly work with HYDRA (the ACTUAL NAZIS), and allow HYDRA to run experiments on them both. The most famous Romani superheroes in comic book history join the ACTUAL NAZIS in the MCU.

(ETA: Yes, they joined HYDRA willingly. They volunteered. That’s according to Marvel’s own website, found right here. “Years later, they both volunteered to undergo genetic experimentation overseen by HYDRA’s Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, using Loki’s scepter, to potentially give them powers.”)

Why would they do this? Wanda’s brief tenure in HYDRA in the comics (Secret Empire run) only happened because she was possessed by the Elder God Chthon; she never joined them willingly. If you’re unfamiliar with the Romani Holocaust, you can read about it right here.

3) The MCU draws most of its inspiration from The Ultimates. Writer Jeph Loeb made Wanda and Pietro’s relationship incestuous in The Ultimates, and the MCU decided, for some bizarre reason, to make this part of the films. Elizabeth Olsen admitted in interviews that they intentionally hinted at incest between the twins in Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you’re unfamiliar with incest as a Romani stereotype, that’s awfully lucky for you, but you can read about it right here.

4) Elizabeth Olsen is also an unrepentant racist. On The Graham Norton Show, all the way back in 2015, she used the word “Gypsy” to describe Wanda and was corrected by the host. The actress has never apologized. (Mark Ruffalo was also on the show, and apologized on Twitter for repeating the slur after Olsen said it.) Olsen didn’t apologize because she wasn’t sorry; it wasn’t the first or last time she’d done it. Elizabeth Olsen keeps using slurs and stereotypes in interviews, as recently as last month.
