I have spent years documenting as many old growth trees in our watershed as I can and this is still one of my favorite trees and it still pulls me in every time I see it.

Printmakers archive, Ethan Snyderman using multiple blocks to do a print of a sunfish and brushing off the shavings with a broom. Rushing to finish it in one day, with an all nighter for a show the next. I love these photos because I never saw the final print and that makes me happy to let my imagination run with it. He frequently did multicolor blocks in two week periods that would take me a year. Also, one of the most humble people I’ve met

Printmakers archive, part of the Tiny Splendor crew. At a time when gentrification in the Bay was in mid swing and this collective, without any doubt in my mind, fostered a community of the artists/printmakers that were some how able hang on during this tumultuous change. Still one of my favorite pictures I took during that time.
