A little something I made for @/gnomophobia’s DTIYS on Instagram! This was SUPER fun to make, as I got to combine two of my favorite things (Superjail and furry fandom/art). I also thought it’d be cool to make a parody of “The Usual Suspects” poster.

More Patience Briggs .・゜゜・(Shany, Pacey, Pay, Bree, Breeches)

Patience was born in a small provincial town. Her father used to work as a poacher, but after the illegal business went bust, he and his wife moved to the United States. There, the couple bought a plot and built a house. Mr. Briggs became a hunter, and Mrs. Briggs took over the household.

Patience had been fond of botany since childhood, she spent a lot of time in the garden, she loved to collect insects, make herbariums and watch animals. Her father took her hunting with him - this had a bad effect on the reputation of Patience, the neighboring children considered her a sadist. The sullen look of her parents repulsed them, they never called Patience with them. Being a modest and withdrawn child, it was very difficult for her to find a common language with her peers, Patience spent all her free time alone.

The Briggs family developed farming, Mr. and Mrs. Briggs raised cows, pigs and some types of birds, grew fruits and vegetables. Interest in breeding, as well as doctoral sciences, arose in Patience at that time. Long poking around in the remains of dead animals, carefully watching how they grow and develop, Patience became interested in genetics. There was a case when she tried to cross two types of chickens in order to get the perfect hybrid from them, which gives both fatty meat and a large number of eggs. A similar desire was renewed in her six months later, but the subject of her experiments became much more passive - beetles. Following the example of chickens and already without expecting any practical result, Patience began to cross two types of beetles, hoping to eventually bring out something in between in color and shape. And she succeeded.

Deprived of the attention of both parents (who were always busy with work), away from everyone, Patience indulged herself with the only company of nature. Toys were rarely bought for her, accusing the girl of "not knowing how to play with them", Patience early began to disassemble dolls and miniature cars, remaking them. Other "special" toys for the girl were stuffed animals of her father: furry skins, stuffed mannequins of small animals and trophy heads. Following the example of their conservation, Patience herself more than once tried to alcoholize the corpses of insects and some animals knocked down on the road in jars. Becoming more and more perverse in this - already alcoholizing individual organs, and not the whole carcass.

Patience was asking herself to go hunting with her father. One day he accidentally shot a raven, and she made a stuffed animal out of it. Patience simply buried other animals.

At the age of twelve, her parents sent her to the gymnasium. Patience worked hard, she liked chemistry and biology.

Things with peers slowly but improved, however, the idea of ​​Patience as a "strange" and "closed" child with very specific interests did not disappear. Perhaps some of the children were looking for just that in communication with her. Over the years spent in the wilderness, Patience got used to loneliness and even fell in love with it, so she was never upset because of the lack of company - she had already experienced the boundary of this order for a long time.

The main specialization of Patience is horticulture. While honing her knowledge of chemistry, Patience came up with special additives and fertilizers that could speed up the process of seed development. She was particularly interested in roses and orchids, and although her initial experiments were amateurish and unsuccessful, Patience did not lose heart. Being alone in her makeshift bedroom-laboratory, surrounded by the smell of reagents, perfume, chemical test tubes and dust, she felt great. It was interesting and easy for her, she really needed it, even in the twilight, stuffiness and with her hands trembling with excitement and fatigue. Patience asked her parents for money for equipment instead of sweets, dresses, gifts and new toys.

When Patience was sixteen, her father died. Patience had to temporarily leave the gymnasium to console her mother and help her organize the family business. Patience was never particularly attached to her father, so she took his death rather reservedly, much easier than her mother - an already elderly, decrepit and weak woman, on whose shoulders all the responsibilities fell not only at home, but also in business. Then Patience joked that she regretted that she did not know how to resurrect people or reconstruct them in the likeness of “living” scarecrows. These jokes were unlikely to amuse the desperate widow, so for the most part, Patience kept her mouth shut, humbly doing the work assigned to her.

The business was losing money and her mother became more and more frustrated. Patience had to sell the animals because they didn't have enough money to keep them. The harvest failed because of the heat, and the Briggs family suffered losses for two months in a row. Patience then took the opportunity to replicate the serum she had invented for better plant nutrition and growth and apply it to corn, a crop far less whimsical than flowers or fruit trees. Not really looking forward to the result, Patience was literally speechless when, exactly three weeks later, the corn crop, despite the continued heat and lack of moisture, tripled. The cobs themselves were larger and sweeter than usual. The drug that Patience made saved the farm from ruin: the sale of a new variety of corn quickly went uphill, her family managed to pay off debts. When her mother got better, Patience returned to the city.

One of Patience's cherished dreams was to become a doctor - the girl looked after sick animals, helped them recover; I tried to prepare special medicines myself. However, Patience did not work out with medicine: she failed the entrance exam and was not taken to the university. In a roundabout way, she went to formoceuticals. Although the Briggs farm later went bankrupt, Patience's miraculous serum was still famous and in demand. After college, she was hired by a chemical manufacturing organization.

Patience's main activity is the creation of food and herbal supplements: GMOs, odor and taste enhancers, pest control, insecticides and nutritional supplements. Today she holds the position of director of one of the main pharmaceutical companies in the city, she is engaged in the distribution and creation of highly qualified fertilizers and GMO supplements.

Patience has big plans for the future: she does not lose hope of creating an equally effective and useful drug not only for plants, but also for people - she wants to invent almost a cure for all diseases! but still don't know how...

Patience did not see her mother after the time they sold the common business: she moved, remarried and no longer maintained contact with her daughter. Patience was not imposed, behind the routine, work and new opportunities that opened up before her, she was completely forgotten. For the past five years, Patience has focused only on herself and science.

Patience and Once-ler

• Patience likes Findkins because she finds him original and funny. However, she disapproves of his unrestraint and frivolity; indecision, as well as inconstancy in his character, irritate her.

• Patience loves to give Once-Ler advice, she does it intelligibly and delicately. They talk a lot with each other, share opinions and views on many things, both professional and personal, things. But Patience is offended by the fact that despite the approval (and sometimes even frank assurances!), To listen to her, Once-Ler does her own thing, stubbornly closing her eyes to her own mistakes.

• Emancipation and grip of the Once-Ler delight Patience! She admires the way he behaves in society: infantile, open, cheerful, reckless. She doesn't feel embarrassed around him.

• With Once-Ler, Patience has a craving for universal recognition, for the assimilation of everything extraneous that surrounds them. they both wanted to change the world, make it comfortable for themselves, beautiful in their own way - yet none of them took the real essence of things seriously, they ignored them, rewriting the canons. thinking what to fix, take, break is much more efficient and pleasant than a reasonable acceptance of the world, its understanding.
