IT WAS COLD Walking outside with only a small black bikini on, the path to the hot tub was short, but chilly, the light smoke coming from the tub or JJ who was smoking a blunt. “Hey” her voice was quiet unlike the hot tub as she stepped up the small stairs sitting on the side of the tub before lifting her legs over

“Lookin’ good miss Y/L/N” his eyes travelling down her body “thank you mr maybank” she smiled sitting down across from the boy, who passed the blunt to her, she mumbled a quick ‘thanks’ before inhaling the joint.

after she inhaled, she looked up letting the smoke exhale from her mouth her eyes connecting with JJ’s “why are you looking at me like that?” She awkwardly laughed drawing her attention to the fact that it was only her and him in the hot tub.

The rest were asleep or out at the beach doing god knows what “you look pretty” he breathed out still stairing at her lifting his sunglasses up “are you high?” He laughed at her “maybe just a little” he shrugged

She passed the blunt back over to the boy his fingers grazing hers.

“But seriously though” he said looking up from the joint “you seriously think I’m pretty? JJ c’mon I see you with a new girl every week or flirting with one at a party and we’re literally best friends you can’t be serious JJ”

“Just because I do all of that y/n doesn’t mean I can’t think you’re pretty, you’re not like the rest of them… y/n… all of the-… all of them are just meaningless hookups”

“What are you trying to say JJ” she took the blunt back, the silence that came after her saying that wasn’t pretty, he sighed “don’t act so stupid” he looked up at her, with those eyes

“Stupid? Funny JJ real mature” she rolled her eyes “fine. You want me to tell you?” He sat up turning the bubbles off, so she could properly hear him.

“I like you.” He blurted out, her eyes widened, he stood up water dripping from his toned body “all those girls, hook up and shit we’re just meaningless and meant nothing to me y/n I like you.”

“No you know what scratch that I’m in love with you” she sat there dumbfounded as he looked down at her, her mouth agape

“You know what-.” He cut himself off “are you not gonna saying anything?” He said a frown appearing on his face, she was in shock, frozen even.

“You know what-.. y/n.. just forget I said anything” he said turning to get out of the hot tub, she rushed to stand up grabbing his hand “JJ…JJ” he turned back around “I- I don’t know what to say JJ I’ve liked you since the day I met you I-i just didn’t know how to tell you since I saw you with all those girls I never thought you were interested”

“I’m sorry I never said anything sooner.. I just thought that-.” He cut her off pressing his lips against hers lips moving against each other sloppily.

The light of the phone screen was bright on her face as she scrolled through the comments of her boyfriend’s Instagram photo’s that he had posted of her and him.

Username456; you can just tell that she’s only with him for the designer bags, and hoilday’s.

Username789: she’d be nothing without him.

Yet she chose to ignore them most nights, tonight she couldn’t help herself, her boyfriend had seemed very off this afternoon when he had ditched their plans to go train.

So now she lays in bed tears falling from her eyes as she placed her phone down, the truth was, she was never with him for money, she had been with him since day one and she couldn’t be more proud of him, and she never ever cared for the money, yeah he bought her expensive gifts and always pays for dinners.

She heard the door slam to the house as she sat up in bed wiping her tears away quickly.

“Hey” she quietly said as he walked into their shared bedroom, he never answered walking into the bathroom while taking his shirt off.

A quiet sigh escaped her lips as she took her pillow and an extra blanket from the closet and walked downstairs to the living room.

After awhile the sound of the shower had stopped and she was drifting off to sleep but Jude had other plans walking downstairs and asking her “why are you not in bed” her back was facing him as he walked towards her.

“You seemed annoyed” she shrugged pulling the blanket over her body even more “you never seem happy anymore” she finished “what do-.” she cut him off “people think I’m only with you for the money. I’m I think you’re starting to believe it too.” She sat up staring at him “oh my god” he ran his hands over his face.

“I don’t know who to believe y/n! My friends, tabloids, interviewers, articles.” He yelled “believe your goddamn girlfriend!” She yelled back “I’ve been here for you when you were just starting off Jude, then you got signed for Real Madrid and you became a new person, you’ve changed Jude.” She started “I don’t care if you buy me expensive bags, clothes, jewellery, or pay for dinners, I never cared about that, okay. I don’t give a shit about money.” She stood up “and if you weren’t so brainwashed by the media, and your stupid friends you would see that” she sighed before walking away from the man.

She grabbed her Keys, opening the front door “where are you going?” He asked “I’m gonna stay at my parents for a bit. Don’t wait up on me” she said tears falling down her face as she stepped out into the rain “babe, it’s raining” he said stalking towards her “don’t- don’t” she placed her hand out signalling for him to not come any closer “I will not tolerate you treating me like shit because some social media rumour made you believe that I’m only with you for your money.”

“Call me when you’ve realised that” she slammed the door shut and stalked to her car.

The boneyard. The one place where Kooks and Pogues can party without fighting. It wasn’t unusual for a party at the boneyard on a Friday night, every week during summer vacation. The Pogues loved partying especially JJ Maybank & y/n y/l/n.

JJ lingered around the girl. Glances ever so often, as she talked to people that were in her classes last year before Kiara came up behind her putting an arm around her shoulder “he’s staring again.” She chuckled the two girls a little tipsy.

“Who’s staring Kie?” The girls eyebrows raised a smile taking over her face, as she looked around the beach, the brunette hit her jokingly “you know!” She said, a wider smile appearing on her face as she turned around seeing JJ leaning against a tree, sipping his drink.

“Oh! maybank?” She grinned “what are you on about Kie? I literally saw him Making out with a girl not even ten minutes ago.” She shrugged “you know he only has eyes for you y/n” she nudged her.

“JJ Maybank does not like me, Kiara” she sighed downing the rest of her drink “I’m definitely not his type. For one. And two, literally every girl goes for him because he’s a hot idiot” Kiara followed her over to the keg as she filled her drink up, Kiara had noticed JJ walking over.

The girl had turned around to say something to Kie but noticing that she had disappeared, she carried on filling her drink up.

“Alright y/n?” JJ approached her putting a hand on her bare shoulder with a firm grip “hey J” a light smile spreading on her face as she turned around “enjoying the party?” She asked as he moved his arm to around her shoulders draping over them.

“I am now that I’m with you” he smiled down at her “weren’t you just making out with a girl like 15 minutes ago?” Her brow raised “Hm, maybe I was maybe I wasn’t” he shrugged.

“Walk with me?” He said pulling her in the opposite direction of the party, the music becoming distant as they walked towards the water.

“You look really pretty tonight y/n” he whispered in her ear, a warm feeling taking over her body “your not being serious J” the girl laughed “if I wasn’t being serious, would I do this?” He said before standing in front of her cupping her face in his hands and planting his lips onto hers.

“I love you y/n” he released himself from her “but J-.” He cut her off “no, y/n. Please if you’d just give me a chance, I can make it work please. Just give me a chance y/n” her face was still cupped in between his hands “I love you y/n. And it’s came as a shock to me, but I do. I really do.” She sighed “I love you too JJ.”

The light pink hue of the sky was pretty, as the beach walk enrolled, the conklin/fisher/y/l/n family usually took a nice relaxing stroll on the beach at the start of the summer.

Conrad and y/n were close, like very close the too befriended each other quite fast when the first met, at the beach house around 12 years ago.

Recently, the two discovered that they felt something more than just friends and they explored this and became a thing. But there was downsides to this.

Belly conklin, didn’t approve. Her childhood crush on the boy seemingly increase as time went on, but when Conrad and y/n showed up to the annual beach house trip hand-in-hand, the hatred for the y/l/n girl increased.

First it was the, laughing and giggling whenever one of them said something, or whispered something in each others ears.

Or it was the kissing, and the fact that belly could hear them giggling while they made out in her room disgusted her. It wasn’t fair, what it y/n have that she didn’t.

Next it was the fact she’d sit on his lap, on the couch, on the beach while they were sitting on a floaty, or they would always choose each other for chicken in the pool, when belly was gonna go for Conrad.

Being a bitch to y/n was not on her bingo card for this year, she liked the girl, not a lot, but she still put up with her so when belly snapped at the couple one day after they came in from the pool giggling about whatever they had done outside, she snapped.

“Could you guys be anymore cliche?” She spat standing up from the sofa “what?” Y/n’s smile dropped turning her attention from Conrad to belly “seriously, why do you guys have to be kissing, and touching each other all the goddamn time” she huffed crossing her arms over her chest.

“We don’t do it all the time” Conrad’s brows raised as he wrapped and arm around y/n “you do!” She spat “I’m done watching it happen, it’s me or her.” She stood her ground looking between the couple “what?” Conrad furrowed her brows looking at the 16 year old.

“Me or her, choose.” She repeated “no? Belly what the fuck? You’re my best friend” he said belly’s heart just breaking a little as the word best friend came out his mouth, but she kept her composure.

“I don’t care, choose” her face was showing no emotion as she glanced between the two.

“Fine” he looked between the two girls and sighed “if you insist” he huffed “I choose y/n” he said belly’s face dropped and her arms fell as he walked away with y/n.
