The sound of thunder rolling through the thick winter air outside was only deadened by the steady hum of the fan that sat in the far corner of the room. 

The room was still dark as your eyes fluttered open, darker than it normally would have been this time of the morning due to the looming winter storm overhead. 

Even wrapped in the cocoon of warm blankets you could feel the nip of a chill in the morning air, the impending rain making the atmosphere around feel electric against the bare skin of your arms. 

You stretch your body underneath the blankets, feeling a little stiff and sore from the previous night’s activities.

Checking that her emerald, silky, knee-length dress was sitting correctly and hugging all the right places, she picked up her black purse and black faux fur coat, making her way out of her apartment and down the stairs, smiling when she spotted Benny waiting for her as she walked down to the sidewalk.
