Usually, After I Take A Few Pictures Of The Sculpture, I Smoosh The Little Guy Back Into The Scrap Pile.

Usually, after I take a few pictures of the sculpture, I smoosh the little guy back into the scrap pile. But I was so enamored with my cute little Hypnotoad that I just couldn't. (I mean, I did, eventually...but I took a lot of pictures with him first. Possibly for my scrapbook. [Don't judge.])

Pre-game warmup.

Ok, fine. I was tired tonight, so I made the easiest possible figure. But I did get to test out my brand new texture pattern and realized...that I suck at it. As usual, I didn't read the directions until after I was done, so next time maybe I'll end up with more pattern on the clay and less clay on the pattern.
Maybe.
In other news, tomorrow is my very first sculpting class. Hooray! I'm excited to get better, but super nervous about someone actually looking at my sad little clay things and giving me the raised eyebrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

I thought about my Grandma a lot today. She's like the geek matriarch in my family, the first of the line of Trekker women. These books were hers, and then my mom's, and now mine. I love her lots and even though I was very sleepy by the time I remembered to make a sculpture today, I tried to make this a good one for her.

I think this is the first time I've freaked myself out with my own sculpture. I mean, I'm pretty proud of the little guy, but I definitely did not like seeing him in my kitchen. Ick.
In other news, I want to write love letters to Super Sculpey. This stuff is AMAZING. It never dries, it doesn't flake, it's easy to mold, and it even smells nice. Swooooon. Expect a lot more pinkish-beige sculptures in the future.

I'm going to London! Last night, I talked to my friend Jon for the first time in ages and I realized I hadn't seen him since we went to college together in Canterbury. So, you know what? Let's go to London.
You can tell I got lazy and didn't do the other sides of the tower, and I didn't even bother to set up a little tableau for you. Instead, here's today's sculpture, exactly where I made it. I'll try harder tomorrow, scout's honor.
