My theory is Cas tells Dean the only way to make him human again is if he kisses an angel so Dean’s like “what are you waiting for? Dammit, Cas, kiss me!” And they kiss and nothing happens and Dean’s all surprised that Cas lied to him and Cas says “you once told me that if people really want something, they lie. So I tried it. And it worked.”
