wearing armour is a lot of work, even though the weight is well displaced over the body (if it's good armour) its still a lot of extra weight to carry. Wearing armour comfortably for long periods of time while doing anything strenuous takes practice and strength training. Even if you are comfortable around the house you should practice on hikes before embarking on lengthy quests or journeys.
