》 35 An awkward kiss given after a first date. / Kuroo Tetsurou

Kiss Me So You Wont Forget

Synopsis: 6 year old you sealed your promise with Kuroo with a kiss (on the cheek, but its still a kiss... right?) A promise that you would remember and wait each other until Kuroo could buy you a ring. You still remember, but does he?

Kiss Me So You Wont Forget

Even though you weren't exactly best friends, you knew who Kuroo Tetsurou was, and really, who didn't? He was the captain of the volleyball team, one of the most handsome guy around, so smart and so cool, and also your first kiss.

Okay, okay, maybe not your first kiss- it was a small peck on the cheek, but you still counted it. You remembered the day it happened, you and he were playing in the playground, and even though you had just met that day, you felt like you knew each other forever.

He had told you he was going to marry you at the end of the day, and you still remembered the proud smirk on his lips as he promised you, his warm -and dirty- hand holding yours, those odd, golden eyes sparkling. "Just wait," he had told you, "wait till I can buy a ring." You nodded, trying to hide your joy from him.

"Promise me you won't forget me, 'kay?" He told you with a serious face.

"Okay." You had muttered, fidgeting your hands.

"And if I see any other boy here playing with you, I- I-" when he couldn't think of any threats, he held your other hand too, now holding both your hands, looking deep into your eyes. "I'll be really sad."

At that, you had smiled sweetly, without thinking much about it, you leaned in, and your lips touched his chubby cheeks. "I won't forget," you giggled, a kiss worth a promise. "But you have to promise you won't forget either."

And here you were, still remembering the day as clear as day, knowing it was a childish game, but still waiting. You had never forgotten about him, even though you hadn't seen him ever again, not until the first day of college, anyway.

A freshman, standing in the middle of the almost empty room, looking around like a fish out of water. You had no idea where your class was, and it didn't help to know your first ever lesson was Chemistry, your arch-nemesis. You thought of asking help from the people around you, but they all looked too mean for you, like they all were watching and snickering at you. Well, it was an exaggeration, they didn't really care about your presence there, and although some were laughing at the fish-out-of-water expression you had on your face, it was because you reminded them of their first day.

Still, even though the paranoia you felt wasn't rational, it was there. So asking just anyone was out of the question. Chewing on your inner lip, you walked out to the hallway, hoping you could at least find a teacher so you could ask where the fuck the chemistry lab was. But instead of going to the d-block as you should've, you found yourself out in the garden.

"Oh my god," you muttered to yourself, rubbing your temples as you looked around, this time even gathering to courage to go and as someone. That was when you saw a head of dyed blond hair bending over the game console in his hands, looking very uncomfortable as he sat on the very edge of the bench.

You didn't want to, but you found yourself walking towards the blond, his eyes never once leaving the screen, his fingers moving smoothly over the buttons.

"E- excuse me?" You muttered when you stood there a few seconds, and he didn't notice you. He visibly flinched at your voice, averting his eyes to you. "I'm, uh, I'm a freshman." You told him as if that explained everything. When he didn't answer, you cleared your throat. "I'm looking for the chemistry lab? I'm very late, and-"

"Kenma." You heard someone call from right behind you, the voice sending chills down your arms for an unexplainable reason. You turned around on your heels to see just who it was. He stood a few steps away from you, brows slightly furrowed as his golden eyes studied your face. Golden eyes that were too familiar. It didn't take you long to recognize who it was, the unruly, raven hair of his being the biggest hint.

(You were a bit surprised he kept the hair though, because really, what even is that?)

Your lips parted, letting out a small gasp as you recognized, connecting the memory from so long ago with the tall boy that stood before you. The way his eyes examined your face, he probably thought he had seen you before, and you waited for him to remember, heart pounding in your chest because finally-

"I've been looking for you all around." He spoke softly, voice laced with concern, and your eyes widened, gaping at him because his words could only mean that he remembered, he really remembered.

It took you a few seconds to realize he hadn't. His eyes weren't on you anymore, but on the small boy that slouched over his game. Kenma, ever the perceptive boy, noticed the slight slump of your shoulders, the disappointment that flashed in your eyes.

"I was here." Kenma shrugged, his eyes once again finding his game console. "Could you help her, though? She's lost, apparently, and I'm about to face the boss."

"Oh, sure." He shrugged, a grin suddenly appearing on his lips, eyes slightly narrowing in a flirtatious manner. "Freshman, huh?"

"That obvious?" You muttered, forcing a nervous laugh, and he chuckled. "Yeah."

~~~
The walk felt like an hour. You quickly noticed Kuroo was pretty popular by the looks and whispers that followed you both, and frankly, this was not the first impression you wished to give.
You anxiously fidgeted your hands, your gaze on your steps as he talked about... something.(what was he talking about again? You had forgotten to listen.)
"And, this is the chemistry lab." He told you, stopping suddenly and causing you to fall off balance. "Woah, careful." He grinned, holding you by the wrist before you fell flat on your face.
"Thanks." You told him with a giggle, biting your lip when you looked at the time. "The class is literally over in 10 minutes." You sighed. "I'll just skip it."
"Wow, rebellious, are we? And skipping chemistry? You must be out of your mind." He teased, chuckling. You shrugged, smiling back. "I don't really like chemistry anyway."
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." He frowned, "come on, there are benches right around the corner so we can sit."
"Oh, it's okay, and you probably have classes anyway. Thank you so much for helping me, though." You told him with a smile, feeling bad for parting since he was fun to be around, but you didn't want him to feel like a babysitter.
"My next class is also in this block, don't worry about it. What's your next class? We don't want you to get lost again, you know?" He grinned, making heat rush to your face. "It's math... I think." You answered as you followed him to the bench.
"Here you go." He told you when he came back from the automat, a can of coffee in his hand. "The coffee tastes like shit, but it still does the job." He kept talking as he opened the can, making a face as he downed the coffee.
"Oh, shit." You coughed after you took a sip, making him laugh, the rich voice making you shiver. "I told you."
You sat there until the next lesson, the conversation never-ending, full of laughs, and it felt like that first day you had met. It felt like you knew each other all your lives, like you hadn't only met that day. Still, you neatly avoided ever talking about how you had met before -or that he had proposed to you-. It did kind of sting that he didn't remember when you hadn't forgotten all these years, but it was okay. You were kids, after all.
"You know, this was nice." He told you when you stood up to go back to your class, running one hand through his hair, he looked... nervous?
"It was, thank you for your help." You told him. "And the very bad coffee, too." You added, once again making him laugh. "It's a pleasure."
He bit on his lip, his eyes locked to yours as if he wanted to say something but couldn't. Or maybe it was... Did he finally remember?
"Would you like me to walk you to the class? Do you remember the directions?"
"It's okay, I remember." You chuckled, missing the letdown look in his eyes. "Oh, okay." He muttered.
Oh.
You turned around to walk to class, stopping mid-track when you heard him call your name. "Yes, Kuroo-kun?" You asked sweetly when he didn't say anything for a few seconds.
"I was thinking..." He muttered. "I can... you know, give you my number." He scratched the back of his neck anxiously. "So I can help if you ever get lost." He added when you didn't answer (you were still trying to process that he offered you his number?!)
"Oh, that would be amazing!" You told him a bit too excitedly. "Th- that's really sweet, thank you." You tried to suppress your grin as he entered his number into your phone.
"You can always text me." He told you with a fake chough that was meant to hide his embarrassment. "Not only when- I mean if you get lost, but also if you ever need any help. Or just anything, really." He chuckled when he noticed your flushed stare.
"You should probably go now," he told you. "You class is about to start."
"Oh, shit!" You muttered, starting to run as you realized he was right.
~~~

"Oh, hey Kenma!" You greeted your friend when he walked towards you. You were glad he had relaxed around you, feeling safe when it was just you two.

"Hey, Y/N." He greeted back quietly. "Waiting for Kuroo?"

You nodded with a shy smile, averting your eyes from his golden ones to your hands. "He should be here any minute now."

"I doubt it." Kenma shrugged. "He was trying to shape his hair last time I saw him. He has been working on it ever since." He snickered villainously. "And that was 3 hours ago."

You couldn't help but laugh at that, the image of Kuroo's frustrated face as he tried to rule his hair somewhat, making your shoulders shake with laughter.

"What are you laughing at?" You heard someone talk from right behind you and making you jump in your place. "N-nothing!" You answered instantly when you recognized him.

"I thought you were going to fix your hair." Kenma muttered, his words causing Kuroo's face to twist with shock, anger, and disappointment.

"I did fix my hair!"

~~~
A date with Kuroo Tetsurou.
You always imagined it would be amazing, but not this good. It was unfair how funny he was, how smart and good-looking. It was always enjoyable to be around him, but having his full attention on you, like this, romantically, was something else.
It hadn't taken long after that second first time you had met for him to ask you out. You were hanging out almost every day anyway, he usually accompanied you to your classes, sometimes even waiting for you.
So here you were. Kuroo had decided to go on a picnic for your first date, brought cookies and sandwiches and this time decent coffee, even fruits, and at least 20 bananas? You didn't ask him about the bananas, though.
You had been sitting there, on the top of the hill, for hours now. The sun had already set, stars showing up in the sky, but neither of you wanted to part.
Kuroo was leaning on a tree, his arm slumped on your shoulder, pulling you towards his chest. It didn't feel awkward or odd to be in this position with him, but you weren't sure why (or how). You skid closer to him, dropping your head on his shoulder, aware of the grin on his lips when you didn't push him back.
You sat like that for god knows how long, only deciding to go back when he noticed you were about to fall asleep between his arms. The ride back to your house was silent, the comforting kind that made you both smile. It was dark, the lights coming from the traffic every once in a while illuminating your pretty face, causing him to think this was yet another dream. He had no idea how he managed to make you fall for him, too, but Kuroo was grateful he did.
He tapped your shoulder slightly when you arrived, waking you up from your daze. "Y/N." He muttered, smiling. "We're here."
"Oh, I'm sorry, I think I fell asleep." You answered with a cheeky smile. "So I thought." He chuckled. "So, uh, thank you for today." He told you, rubbing the back of his neck and causing you to scream internally at how adorable he was.
"It was really nice." He kept on awkwardly when you stood silent and fiddled your fingers with your now unfastened seatbelt.
"I had so much fun, too." You answered, biting your lips as you thought of what to say next, but he acted before you.
"By the way, Y/N, you know this was a date, right?" He suddenly asked, the question leaving you dumbfounded. When you didn't answer him for a few seconds, he felt his eyes widening. "Y/N- are you seriosuly-"
"Kuroo, what the hell?" You asked, unable to control your laughter anymore. "Of course I knew this was a date!"
"Ah, damn, my heart almost stopped." He clutched his chest, only making your laughter louder. "Why would you even ask that?"
"Oh, I just... wanted to confirm it so I could tell you something." He muttered, not proceeding whatsoever. "And that is?.." You persuaded him, making him chuckle and lean forward to bring his face closer to yours. "I wanted to tell you that- that I like you. A lot." He finally admitted.
"I like you, too." You whispered, suddenly aware of how close his lips were.
"And I really, really want to kiss you."
"I'm not- I'm not stopping you." You confessed, making him chuckle just before his lips touched your lips. It was a small peck, his soft lips pressing yours slightly, his touch on your lips lingering a few seconds before he pulled back.
"I think-" He whispered, slightly breathless because of the excitement and the way his heart pounded in his heart. "I've fallen for you hard." He chuckled. "I'm not- Umm, I'm sorry our first kiss wasn't in somewhere more romantic, though." Kuroo told you, and you could see the slight disappointment in his eyes.
You bit your lip (the feeling of his lips still lingered on yours), chuckling anxiously. "You know, this wasn't exactly our first kiss." You shrugged.
"What?"
"I, umm, I did kiss you on the cheek before. To seal... a promise."
His brows furrowed, trying to understand what you were talking about, confusion evident in his eyes. "No, you didn't."
"Kuroo," you told him with a mysterious smile. "I did."
You opened the car door, knowing by the slight widening of his eyes, he was an eyelash away from remembering. "Well, good night." You smiled, enjoying the look of shock in his eyes.
You shut the door just as he shouted your name, "Y/N, wait, I remember!"
~~~

Even though you weren't mad at him for forgetting, Kuroo still made up for it with thousands and thousands of more kisses.

I’ll See You, Even If I Close My Eyes

Ill See You, Even If I Close My Eyes

Synopsis: "I know who you are." You whispered, your eyes still closed.

 "Open your eyes, then. Open your eyes, look at me and tell me you don't hate me."

Ill See You, Even If I Close My Eyes

Genre: enemies to lovers (is that even a surprise at this point?), i feel like it’s a bit angsty but it wasn’t meant to be, a happy ending, fluff

Warnings: Shinsou is really mean in the beginning of this for the story purposes but I kept it short) some cursing, insecurities, mentions of social anxiety also its like 5.6k I think so that's that

pairing: Pianist!Shinsou x fem!Reader

Ill See You, Even If I Close My Eyes

It was late in the night when you first heard it. The music coming from downstairs, a piano piece that enhanced and pulled you to it the moment you heard it.

Running down the stairs as fast and quiet as you could, you rushed to the living room in the grand piano stood. You didn't know anyone who played the piano in your class, and you desperately wanted to know who this music belonged to.

It was such a soft melody, so sad and almost dark, it sent chills down your spine. The piece wasn't familiar, though what enchanted you so wasn't the song but the way the pianist had delivered it, instead.

You made it to the room, chest heaving from running so fast. It was ice cold downstairs, realizing it was because all the windows were open, making the whole room smell like the deep night and mist, although as you reached to the piano, you noticed the faint smell of lavender, as well.

You hid behind the cupboard when you reached the room, taking a peek inside to see the pianist, brows furrowing when you couldn't. The tulle curtains dancing with the harsh wind, it was concealing the pianist professionally, only making you able to see the silhouette.

It was a man's silhouette, you could tell that. You looked at his back, hovering over the black and white tiles of the piano, his broad shoulders slumped forward ever so slightly. You weren't aware you had started to walk towards him, getting out of your hiding place.

You were able to only take a glimpse of the silhouette of his side profile before you heard another pair of footsteps coming from the stairs, making you both freeze in your places.

"Y/N?" You heard a soft voice call out, Yaoyorozu standing there with her nightgown and a blanket she just created. "What are you doing here?"

"I- I couldn't sleep." You answered vaguely, causing her to knit her brows together, but thankfully, she didn't keep pushing. "It's freezing down here," she told you instead. "Let's go back upstairs."

"Yeah, I'm coming." You answered, trying to stop her from coming there and seeing the- you looked back at the piano, gasping when you noticed he wasn't there anymore. The tulle curtain still dancing with the wind, the faint smell of lavender and night lingering in the air, but the pianist was gone without a trace.

"What are you doing?" Yaoyorozu asked, yawning gracefully. "You're acting a bit weird." She told you with a smile, and you smiled back. "Nothing, I just thought I saw something." You didn't expect the look of panic to settle on her features, though. "What? Did you see someone?" She interrogated, stopping in her tracks and ready to go downstairs to fight whoever it was.

"I-"

"Is there a break-in? Did you-"

"No!" You exclaimed, stopping her from checking downstairs. You didn't know why exactly, but you didn't want her to find out about the pianist. "I just thought I saw a shadow, it's nothing important." You reassured her, and although she sent you a suspicious look, she took your words, walking back downstairs.

You could swear you heard a chuckle when you sighed with relief, though.

***

When people asked your best friend, Yaomomo, why you didn't seem to get along with Shinsou, she didn't answer.

(they usually asked her if he did something to you, something bad, but she never told you this)

 The truth was, she didn't know either, no one did, not even you were sure as to why. Shinsou seemed like the kind of guy you would get along with, he was quiet and calm, though he was strong and would do anything to get to his goal.

He was impressive, and you always had a part in you that wanted to be friends with him, and it hurt when he hated you instead of sharing your thoughts. And it didn't make it any better when you were seatmates, either. It had been only a week of you sitting together, and every day was living hell.

He lifted his head from his arms, waking up from his sleep. His eyes wandered over the room, his bored gaze stopping on you, and brows furrowing immediately.

Only the sight of you was able to make him angry, apparently, the thought souring your mood immediately.

Your eyes locked for a few seconds, the indigo eyes making it near impossible to look away, and he stared at you as if he expected you to say or do something. You could feel the bone-chilling glare he sent you when you looked away, and he smirked when you gathered the courage and tried to glare back.

"Stop looking at him." Yaoyorozu warned you when you stared for a little too long. "I'm not!" You answered but bit your bottom lip when she looked at you with raised brows. "I mean, he was glaring first."

"Sure." She told you with a small smirk. "You know, I think you should-"

"Go and talk to him, I know. You tell that to me every day." You interrupted. "But I can't, I'm not as confident as you, and I really don't have it in me to go and ask someone just why they hate me so much."

You huffed when she pouted. "It's not that big of a deal, Y/N. I really think it would be better than glaring at each other like this, and don't think I miss how tired and on edge you always are. I can't stand you staying quiet when he's always mean to you. Why don't you at least fight back?"

"I-" You tried to think of an answer, but you weren't sure either. You were never good with fighting back to people when it came to you, can't find the right thing to say in the middle of an argument, or panic altogether and tear up. It was just easier to ignore and bite your lip, to not answer, and hope they will go away. It had worked in the past, but it just seemed to make it worse with Shinsou.

"I can't." You finally answered her question, and she sighed, but before she got to lecture you more on the topic, Midnight entered the room, and you went back to your seat, still feeling his gaze on you.

***

"I'll just talk to her," you told your friend, "Can you wait here?"

"Sure!" Yaoyorozu told you with a cheerful smile, and you rubbed your hands together anxiously as you walked towards your homeroom teacher, so anxious that you weren't aware he was still in the class.

"Yeah, no." Was your teacher's answer when you requested a seat change. "Not unless you give me a valid reason."

"Um, we don't... we can't get along and-"

"That isn't an excuse, you know." She told you, sighing as she collected her bag and stood up. "But you changed Ochako's seat a few days ago!' You tried one last time, biting your bottom lip anxiously. "Yes, I changed her seat because Mineta was... well- acting inappropriately. I won't change seats because you can't get along, If it came to that, I would have to change almost everyone's seat. Just try to get along, Midoriya never asked me to change his seats, and he and Bakugou really can't get along."

Yeah, that's because he's a masochist, you thought to yourself but bit your tongue before it slipped out of your mouth.

"Yes, sensei." You answered instead, heard a scoff coming from the back of the room as she walked out of the room.

"And here I am, thinking we got along swimmingly." He raised a lavender brow along with a dry laugh, the kind of laugh that would've been pretty if it was genuine. You tried to ignore Shinsou's gaze as you walked past him towards the exit, following your teacher, who seemed to want to get out of the room as soon as possible, praying to yourself he would let you go this one time. But of course, he didn't.

"Shinsou-kun, just leave her alone." Yaoyorozu muttered, holding you by the wrist and pulling you out of the room, which you gladly complied with.

"Oh, but how are you going to survive?" He spoke, ignoring Yaoyorozu's warning. "I'm the big bad wolf, aren't I? Isn't that why you run away from me like a hopeless little lamb? Can't even speak, let alone look me in the eyes?" He growled the last few words, resembling the big bad wolf for a second or so, his low growl sending shivers down your spine.

He sounded almost... hurt.

"What?" He snapped. "Still got nothing to say back? Even after all those things I said, you still can't-"

"Cut it out, Shinsou!" Yaoyorozu suddenly protested, ignoring the looks you had sent her, pleading to just go.

You heard Shinsou sigh, his face softer when he had turned to your friend, the realization making your heart clench. It was just you, he hated, after all.

"You're just proving my point by defending her, you know." Shinsou told her with slightly quirked brows as he packed his bag. His eyes stayed on you for a few more seconds, waiting (begging) for you to say something. But you didn't, and it only made him angrier.

"See ya later, seatmate." He told you bitterly, earning an audible gulp as a response.

***

Shinsou hadn't expected you to come back.

He didn't want you there, either. You, who made him feel like a villain more than anyone else in the world. But, still, he couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit of excitement when he felt your presence in the entrance of the doorway, going towards the piano and wondering.

Shinsou hadn't sat on the piano this time, watching you as he tried to figure what you were going to do. Instead of scoffing and going back when you saw the pianist wasn't there, as he expected you to do, you pouted and sat on the Stuhl, touching the keys with your fingers.

Shinsou bit his lip, thinking. He wanted to- he wanted to show himself, but he also knew... "Who is there?" He heard you call out, your voice low but firm, the strong tone he had never heard from you, and it made him curious.

"Are you the pianist that was here last time?" You asked, standing up with furrowed brows and narrowed eyes.

"I am." Shinsou answered with a low voice, and you gasped when you got an answer, eyes widening with surprise and confusion because you thought you heard that voice before-

"A- are you..?" You started to ask, but before you realized who the voice belonged to, Shinsou had already got closer to you, hands closing over your eyes, and before you even got the chance to struggle, you were brainwashed. "You can't recognize my voice." He ordered, feeling a bit guilty with seeing the blank expression on your face. "You can in the day, but not at night."

You nodded blankly, and just like that, you were out of his grip. "Don't open your eyes." He told you as he let you go physically and mentally. "Who are you?" You asked once again (he suppressed a laugh when you really didn't open your eyes), your voice this time harsher, on edge and ready to fight.

"I'm a student here, as well."

"I can't say I believe you." You answered, and even with your eyes closed, you could feel his presence and leave a few meters between the two of you, circling him in the room with the reflexes of a cat. Maybe you weren't that helpless, after all.

"I'm not surprised, but I am a student."

"Prove it." You demanded.

"There is a Bakugou Katsuki in your class, who has some serious anger issues."

"Everyone knows that." You scoffed, and he chuckled. "Todoroki Shouto, the quiet, strong kid, who is also a cold Soba addict and Endeavors kid." He kept on.

"Huh," you answered with a sly smile, showing him you were enjoying this just a bit. "Not bad, but you gotta give me a bit more than that."

"What do you even want me to say?" He protested with a chuckle he couldn't suppress, suddenly thinking of something he wasn't sure that was supposed to be said. "Okay, umm..." He looked at you as he hesitated to speak.

"There is a general stuied kid that transferred to your class." He said, watching your face as he spoke. "Hitoshi Shinsou. A kid that's supposed to be a villain."

Your brows furrowed immediately, the smile you just had on disappearing. "Don't call him that." You spoke, your cold voice surprising him. "He is a student in the hero course, not a general studies kid. He is aiming and working to be a hero, and you don't have the right to call him a villain." You protested, your words causing a weight to settle on his chest.

What the hell were you saying? Wasn't his quirk the reason you never spoke or looked at him? The reason you were afraid of him? Where was the meek little girl he knew, that always ran from him, that couldn't even glare at him or speak back? You looked strong, instead.

"But you do have the right, don't you?" He asked, voice now even lower. You visibly flinched.

"Who are you?" You asked after a few minutes, refusing to answer his question.

"I can't tell you. But you do believe I'm not an outsider, do you?"

You shook your head slowly.

"Well then, if that's settled." He told you, chuckling as he spoke. You heard him walk, a creak coming from the piano seat. "Why don't you want me to open my eyes?" You questioned, and he kept his silence for a few seconds. "I don't want you to know who I am." He said simply, and you scoffed.

"I already understood that, I want to know why."

"Aren't you here to listen to me?" He told you, tapping the piano keys softly. "You can listen to me with the condition of not opening your eyes."

You could tell he wasn't going to answer your question, so you went with another one. "Do I know you?"

You didn't know who he really was, did you? It wouldn't be a lie if he said no. Your brows furrowed when he answered negatively, wondering why it felt like a lie.

You shook your head, and he couldn't help but wonder why you were so scared of him when you knew who he was, especially after you had even defended him to someone you didn't even know. His gaze wandered over you, and he found himself thinking just how pretty you were, the moonlight softly lighting your features, the confident look on your face never once going away, and it just didn't make sense how you could be the same girl he saw every day.

"Won't you come closer? I won't bite." He spoke mockingly when you stood where you were, at least 5 meters away from him. You surprised him by actually coming near him. Shinsou stood up, feeling bad making you stand there. He pulled a chair next to the piano. "You can sit here if you want to." He told you, leading your hand to the chair, you shook your head but refused to sit.

"Do you have a requested piece?" He asked, although a bit more cynically than he intended to.

"Do you know any Chopin?" You shrugged uninterestedly, but your curious tone told him you were more than excited for this.

"Chopin it is." He muttered, a short silence followed by him pressing the keys. It didn't take long to recognize the piece, and he was surprised to see you interested in classical music.

He didn't stop playing when he finished the piece, playing something else, some you didn't recognize, some of your favorite piano pieces, and you were mesmerized. By the way he played the passages softly, almost causing a physical warmth to spread through your body.

Soon, it felt like you weren't sitting next to some stranger, so used to each other's presence that you sometimes forgot where you were or who you were with.

You didn't know how much you sat there, already lost the sense of time. Sometime along the night, you had sat on the chair he pulled for you, the faint lavender scent once again making itself recognizable.

"Are you cold?" He muttered, talking for the first time for what felt like hours, snapping you back into reality from the bubble of thought you were lost in. You noticed you were hugging your body, your knees pressed to your chest, chills down your arms, not even aware you were about to fall asleep a few seconds ago.

"I guess so." You muttered and heard him chuckle. "You shouldn't fall asleep next to a stranger."

"Why not?" You asked, still not fully awake.

"I'm a stranger." He declared and heard a muffled laugh coming from you, and he realized it was the first time he heard you laugh, too. "I might be a very bad person, kill you in your sleep." He whispered the last words, and you chuckled, this time slightly more awake.

(His words reminded you if something, a conversation you had with someone else earlier that day, but with sleep clouding your thoughts, you couldn't connect the two)

"Well, you're studying in UA, right? Aiming to be a hero. I don't think you could be that bad."

Silence followed your words, and you wondered if you had said something wrong, shifting in your place. No, it wasn't that you had said something wrong, you had said something so right, something Shinsou had waited his whole life to hear from someone, but he had never thought this someone would be you.

"That's the weakest argument I've ever heard." He answered after a few seconds, trying to pull himself back together. "It still doesn't stop me from falling asleep, though. Are you tired?"

"I'm always tired." He answered, cursing himself for revealing something of his character. But you hadn't seemed to catch on. Actually, you hadn't been saying anything for a while, and- were you already asleep?!

Was that even humanely possible, he wondered. Still, he couldn't wake you up, could he? If he did, you would open your eyes and see him, and Shisnou didn't want to brainwash you again...

He sighed, arms snaking up under your legs and back, pulling you to his arms and an odd feeling spreading to his chest when you snuggled closer to his chest, seeking warmth, the innocent smile on your lips causing him to hold his breath.

He had no idea why he was helping you, either, but he just couldn't leave you there. It was payback for you defending him earlier, he concluded, even though you had defended him against him.

He finally climbed the stairs that went to your room, opening the door as quietly as he could and dropping you on your sheets, a puff of air that smelled like you rising from your bed when he dropped you. Shinsou found himself inhaling and smiling at your scent, brows furrowing immediately when he realized what the hell he was doing.

He exited the room with thoughts filling his head, so many things to reconsider and think of, and Shinsou knew he wouldn't be able to sleep at all that night.

~~~
"Has Shinsou been treating you better lately, or am I delirious?" Yaoyorozu had asked that day, which you had answered with a shrug, even though the answer was definitely yes. He hadn't called you dumb or a coward for a hot minute, and it was both making you relieved and concerned.
He wasn't frowning whenever your eyes met (he had once smiled at you, which resulted in you choking on your drink you had just sipped on, so he had decided it was the best not to), wasn't even glaring at you. Still, that didn't mean you had accepted him, or befriended him in any way. You kept on avoiding him with all you had, and he couldn't even blame you, he wasn't even aware of the internal fight you were giving, trying to stop yourself from smiling back, to stop thinking maybe he wasn't that bad after all, to stop yourself from liking him and failing.
Shinsou wasn't deliberately acting better towards you, either. He didn't mean to change anything, but it did. Ever since the first night you had talked with him without knowing who he was, without guarding yourself or hiding what you wanted to say and held back, his anger towards you had started to fade.
You had met almost every night after that day, and his heart had no right to beat faster when he saw you standing there, waiting for him, but it did. Shinsou knew this feeling and wasn't exactly foreign to the warmth that spread in his chest when you leaned your head on his shoulder as he played something soft, the excitement he had when you praised him for his music, the pride when you laughed loudly at something he said because he had made you laugh and-
And he had no right.
Not after he had treated you the way he did.
Still, he was too selfish to lose you, so he answered negatively whenever you asked to open your eyes.
"But why not?" You protested, your head resting on his shoulder, you inhaled his lavender scent, soft hair tickling your face.
"Why do you want to know that much? Can't we just stay this way? Do you have to know who I am?" He told you, fear causing a feeling to sit in the pit of his stomach, fear of what would happen, of how much you would hate him if (when) you found out.
No, no, you could hate him all you want in the day, hate the persona he had for everyone and you, but he couldn't bear you hating him as the pianist, because that who he really was.
You were the only one who knew the real him, if you hated the real him, he could never gather the courage to show it to anyone else. He called you coward all this time, and it was he who was the real coward, after all.
But Shinsou wasn't the only one with a secret.
Even though you hated it, even though you couldn't admit it, you wanted the pianist to be a certain someone. Someone with a pair of pretty indigo eyes and the craziest hair you had ever seen.
And the hope, the feeling of maybe it is him, it hurt to stay clinging to a thread of hope. And you knew, you knew it couldn't be him, and you wanted to open your eyes and kill whatever stupid part of your brain it was that hoped for it to be Shinsou, to open your eyes and stop your feelings that were growing for him with the feelings you harbored for the stranger that sat across you. The stranger you didn't know the name of, the stranger, who played the piano for you every single night until you fell asleep, the stranger you trusted, you liked, and you... loved?
No, no, that couldn't be true. You couldn't love someone you didn't know anything about, could you? But you did know him, didn't you? You knew him very well, and he knew you, the real you, you who you didn't feel like you had to hide.
"I just- maybe then we won't have to see each other just at night." You answered, trying to think of a reasonable answer other than 'I'm trying to get over a crush here by using my crush I have on you'
"Maybe some other day." He answered, and you sighed since that was his usual go-to answer.
"Maybe some other day." You repeated, once again leaning to him, making yourself comfortable as he played a piece he played often, a piece you had fallen in love with because of him.
~~~

"You'll hate me." He had once told you when you asked why. He had immediately corrected himself, but you had heard it already. 'You'll hate me.'

"I can never hate you." You had answered, felt the deep breath he had inhaled, felt how he held his breath in his chest in a hopeful manner. "You think that now," he had chuckled in a way of trying to conceal the broken tone in his voice. "I will only believe that if you promise me you haven't hated anyone in your life."

He had sighed when you hadn't answered him.

"But that's not fair," you had protested. "It doesn't depend on whether I have ever hated anyone. Why would I hate you? I wouldn't be coming here every single night if I did, would I?"

"I'm... different with you." He had answered, and you felt your heart-clenching, holding your breath unconsciously.

"How are you so sure?" You had asked. "Do you think you would've hated yourself if you were me?" You had joked, not expecting him to answer.

"I already do." He had whispered, making your brows knit together in anger. "No!" You protested, opening your eyes in a whim to prove to him that you wouldn't, couldn't hate him even if you knew who he was, but before you even got a glimpse, his hand closed over your eyes as if he felt what you had in mind.

"No, no." He chuckled, "no cheating."

~~~
"I'm really sure I can't hate you." You had concluded after a moment of silence, and he had laughed, the sound making you feel warm. "What makes you so sure?"
"Honest answer?"
"Yes."
"I... like you." You had finally managed to choke out after a few seconds and were greeted with silence.
"No, you don't." he had told you, and you would've laughed if it was any other situation (because really, who answers I like you with no? And you thought thank you was the worst answer, apparently not), but his voice was so sad, almost regretful. It was obvious he didn't believe you.
"You don't know that!" You had protested, and he had sighed. "Believe me, I do."
"I like you." You repeated, this time more confident and left no room for denial, and somehow you could feel him smiling. "I like you, too."
"Don't you wanna see me after my confession?" He had half-joked, and you knew he would let you open your eyes if you said yes. But you chose not to, knowing well he wasn't ready.
"It's okay." You had answered and heard the breath of relief he had inhaled, although he tried to hide it.
A faint chuckle waked you up from your slumber. You felt strong arms wrapping your body as they lifted you up in the air, and you quickly closed your eyes. You knew he wouldn't know if you did open your eyes, but you... couldn't. Not when he begged you not to, not when he told you you would hate him.
You wanted him to be ready when you did.
"You should really stop trusting people as much as sleeping soundly next to them." You felt a soft hand caressing your hair away from your hair, the motion making you hold your breath.
He leaned towards you, his hair tickling your face, and he was suddenly so close, you could feel the heat radiating from his face, and you wished, wished for him to kiss you. But instead, he whispered, "I'm sorry."
Something you least expected him to say, yet, it was what you most wanted to hear, you realized.
His arms wrapped around you, lifting you and pulling you to his chest, and you felt oddly relaxed, thinking you were in the arms of someone you didn't even know the name of.
You had your eyes closed as he carried you to your room, trying to look asleep so he wouldn't let you go, and you could stay together, at least slightly longer.
He opened your room door with his foot, placing you on your bed softly. You stood quiet, hoping he'll stay a bit longer, but also aware he wouldn't. "I know you're awake." He spoke softly after a few seconds, and you couldn't help but smile. "You do?" You asked, and he answered a soft yes.
"You could've told me that down there so you wouldn't have had to carry me all the way here." You joked as you noticed he was a bit more anxious than he usually was. "You looked comfortable." He answered with a nervous chuckle.
"I should go." He told you, but you felt him getting closer to you instead of doing what he said, his hand caressing your hair out of your face softly, as he usually did when you snuggled to his side when he played the piano.
"Do you have to?" You gathered the courage and asked, couldn't help smiling when you heard him gasp softly.
"I don't really wanna be alone." You added, and he sighed.
"I'll only stay until you fall asleep."
"I'll fight my sleep the whole night if I have to." You answered, and he chuckled, making you laugh, too. He sat on the ground, right next to you, his hand still softly caressing your hair.
"Then I'll stay here until you can't."
And he did. He stayed there even when you felt like couldn't fight it, couldn't hold back from falling asleep as his lavender scent lulled you into the sleep, his hand holding yours, but you were strong, and you resisted, resisted until the sun shone its first lights into your room.
"You're still awake." He muttered, but his voice was afraid, and you knew this voice.
"You can't recognize my voice. You can in the day, but not at night." He remembered. Realizing it was now day.
It was a voice that made you flinch whenever you heard it, the voice that had told you some of the meanest things that had been told to you.
"I know who you are." You whispered, your eyes still closed.
"Open your eyes, then. Open your eyes, look at me and tell me you don't hate me."
You did open your eyes, but your voice didn't come out. You gulped, instead, feeling a lump forming in your throat and aching there. "What, got nothing to say?" He asked, trying to joke, but he had meant it serious, he realized.
You couldn't bring yourself to speak, and you didn't know why, either. Didn't you want the pianist to be him? Wasn't there a part of you that wanted it to be him? Hadn't you told him all those things, everything, thinking it could still be him? Then why couldn't you repeat them now? Looking at his indigo eyes that looked at you like he was broken, like he knew this would happen but was holding on to the last thread of hope?
You were afraid, afraid you wouldn't be able to speak, to tell him that you meant it all, and he noticed it. He saw the look of fear in your eyes.
People being afraid of him was something he was more than familiar with, after all.
"I knew it." He whispered, and you noticed his eyes were slightly damp with disappointment. He ran his hand through his hair, eyebags darker than usual, and he bit his bottom lip as if he tried to hold himself back from crying.
"It's okay. You're right about hating me, I knew it would eventually happen but-"
"I don't." You finally managed to tell him when he turned towards your door to exit the room, holding him by the wrist, knowing damn well this would be your only chance to tell him.
"I had- I had meant it all." You spoke and saw the glint of hope in his pretty eyes. "Even if my eyes were closed."
You saw how it took a few seconds for him to process the words, and when he did, he smiled.
"You don't hate me?"
You nodded, and he took a step towards you when you did.
"Not afraid of me, either?"
You nodded, smiling slightly, and he took one more step.
"Are you really sure, though?" He asked, and you chuckled as you nodded once again, and his face was almost mere inches away from yours when he got even closer to you.
"Can I... kiss you, then?"
You nodded one more time, tilting your face towards his. "You should've asked this first, instead." You whispered just before he pressed his lips to yours, making him smile into the kiss.
Thank you for the tag!!
I'm really grossed out by tears. I don't know why but I'm disgusted by anyone's but myself, I hate it so much I once gagged when I saw someone kissing away their girlfriends tears, I still get chills thinking about it. It's now a joke around friends and they usually threaten me by saying they'll cry and touch me if I do something they don't want and I always end up doing whatever it is they want.
Hi❤️❤️ I'd like to request Shoto whose friendly s/o is really into Halloween and wants to do matching outfits together. Idk it's spooky season and I'd love to see todobb living it ☺️☺️ thank u for ur work ❤️❤️💕💕
A/N: ahh- this was really nice! Thank you for your request, I consulted my best friend for the costume ideas and we had the time of our lives trying to come up with them
So, umm, I really hope you guys like it, this is the second time I ever wrote for Todoroki, so I probably should work on it a bit more, but I think it turned out well!
Warnings: I think there’s none but I can’t be sure since Bakugou is here heh
Word count: 4k cuz I have no self control
Genre: fluff!
A cursed kiss-
"Aizawa sensei gave us green light!" Mina exclaimed as she entered the class, visibly skipping. Kaminari punched the air with victory. These were the words that caused everyone to jump in their seats in excitement.
"He did?" Ochako didn't lose a second and ran towards her to get details, the rest of the class wasn't any better, either. Even Bakugou was up on his feet, trying to look as uninterested as he could.
The social butterfly that she is, Mina obviously had no problems with having a crowd around her. "He said he would kill us if he caught any of us with alcohol." She muttered, and Kaminari visibly deflated. "Oh, man, there goes the chance to get lightweight Bakugou drunk!"
"Hagh, who you calling lightweight?! You were the one who got drunk with a beer! One Beer!" He shot back, the class erupting with laughter at the memory of Kaminari. Even Shouto snickered quietly.
"Whats going on?" You finally stood up, pulling your hand out from the warm hands of your boyfriends. When he pouted at the sudden lack of contact and locked his eyes on his hand that just had your hand in it, you sent an apologetic smile his way. "I'll just learn whats up and will be right back, 'kay?"
You walked towards the big crowd, Mina being the first to spot you. "I see you could finally get separated from your boyfriend." She commented with a grin, her words causing your face to warm up and your friends to giggle.
"I wanted a front seat of Kaminari getting burned." You answered, making the said boy frown. "Hey, that's mean!" He exclaimed, but his protests just seemed to fuel the fun Kirishima and Sero were having.
"So, what's really happening?" You asked, ignoring the pout Kaminari was sending your way.
"We're throwing a Halloween party!" Yaoyorozu answered, and the boys cheered with excitement.
"We are? How did you even convince Aizawa sensei?" You asked in disbelief, causing Mina to chuckle mysteriously. "I have my ways." She told you smugly, though you were aware it was just another way of saying 'I didn't give him any rest until he said yes.'
"Ooh, this is gonna be great! Right, Baku?" Kirishima muttered, nudging Bakugou slightly and earning a glare. "I don't care about a stupid party, what are you, five?"
Even if he had a scoff on his lips, you all knew better and were aware that he was as excited as the rest of you were.
"I have a really original costume idea, you know." Kaminari told the group with a proud smile on his face, though instead of getting the curious attention he expected, he just heard snickers.
"How much do you wanna bet on him coming as Pikachu?" Kirishima whispered to Sero, both giggling uncontrollably when Kaminari's eyes widened with shock. "How did you know?!"
Tapping the pencil that was in your hands to the paper that laid in front of you, you sighed, feeling the steam coming out of your ears, even though you couldn't even finish the first question.
"Babe, what should we do for Halloween?" You looked at Shouto, who was sitting on his desk, focused on the math homework in front of him, having no problems with it, unlike you. You bit your lip, it sometimes amazed you how handsome he was.
"What do you mean, isn't there a party?" He asked, laying his pencil down and looking at you with a confused look on his face that you just found adorable.
You giggled -suppressing the urge to pinch his cheeks.- "Yeah, baby, I meant as what costume we should do." You had to admit, this was one of the many reasons you couldn't focus on the paper in front of you, since the second you heard about the party, it was the only thing that swarmed in your mind.
"Oh." He said softly. "Do we have to wear costumes?"
"Of course we do!" You told him, shocked. "And- we should do a couples costume, too!" He tilted his head slightly to the left, something you often saw him doing.
"We can do that?"
The question had you waiting to kiss him and/or bang your head to the wall. "Not only can, but we also have to do it." When his confused expression didn't change, you sighed. "I love Halloween and wearing costumes, and it's really fun! And since this is our first Halloween... I thought it would be cute if we went wearing matching costumes."
You stood up in need to be closer to him, and as always, he greeted you with open arms. Even though he wasn't big on showing affection in public, and usually just held your hand, he was just a big baby when you were alone. But then again, you had no complaints, whatsoever.
"I see you're very excited about this." He mumbled into your hair, and you smiled. "I am, baby, and you should be too! It's my favorite season, and all my best memories were on Halloween! Oh, come on, didn't you have any amazing or really scary adventures as a kid in Halloween?" You exclaimed, threading your fingers through his two-colored locks.
"Actually- don't answer that." You corrected yourself when he sent a blank look your way.
"But still, I think you're gonna love it, too! Okay, enough talk of how amazing Halloween is, let's think. Any suggestions?"
"Can you give me an example?" He asked after staying silent for a second or so. "Oh, umm, something like Batman and Catwoman, but let's not do that." You added before he agreed to it.
"Oh, that's not scary, though, is it?" He muttered and smiled when you giggled. "It doesn't have to be scary, it's really just an excuse to wear costumes." When he nodded but didn't say anything you raised your brows. "Any ideas?"
"Umm... Matching costumes." He muttered, scratching his head. "Like- sun and moon?"
"Sun and moon?" You repeated, and the image of you wearing round costumes making you grimace a little. The smallest smile tugged on his lips as his eyes examined your expression. "Cause you're my sunshine."
Even though it was cheesy as hell, it was worth seeing the shocked look on your face that melted into an embarrassed, cute smile, he thought.
"Okay," you muttered, hiding your flushed face from him. "I added that to the list."
"I can't think of anything, let's look at Pinterest." You stood up and laid on the bed, and it didn't take long for him to follow you. He laid right next to you, arms wrapping around you and his head dropping to your shoulder, his two-colored eyes on your phone screen, looking at your Pinterest feed that was full of costume ideas.
"That looks nice." He pointed at the angel-devil costumed couple. He loved to see how your lip rolled in, nose crinkling with thought. "I thought it was really nice, too. Added to the list, but let's keep looking- OH MY GOD, SHOU!" You suddenly exclaimed with the idea that suddenly popped into your head, excitedly pulling yourself up into a sitting position, making his arms that were around you to fall back on the bed.
"I have the best costume idea for you!" You told him, and even though he had no idea what it was that got you so excited, he couldn't stop smiling either.
"How about- How about going as Zuko?!" He stood silent for a few seconds, his brows furrowing slightly in thought. "Zuko? I'm not sure if I can pull it off, though."
Your eyes widened in disbelief. "Shouto, you guys are practically the same people. It's one of the many reasons I agreed to date you, you know." You teased, but you should have known better.
"It is?" He asked, his hand going to his scar almost immediately. His lips turned down into a frown, he looked so hurt it made your heart ache. "B-baby, I was just kidding." You told him and got closer to him, but frowned when he pulled away.
"Shou?" You called out, cupping the scarred side of his face and leaned in to press a soft kiss on his cheek when his frown didn't go away. His eyes were avoiding yours, the feeling of him hurt making your heart ache, "Baby, I really didn't mean it!" You repeated, wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing one more kiss to his cheek.
You searched for his eyes, and even though his frown wasn't gone, your eyes met his two-colored eyes that were bright with a mischievous glint.
"I think I'm gonna need more than that." He muttered, the frown turning to a smirk, and his face leaned forward, reaching for your lips. You gasped, finally understanding he was teasing you the whole time.
"Shouto," You protested. "I really thought I hurt you!"
"Ah, but you did." He told you, the smirk only growing when he felt your irritated gaze. "You broke my heart." His words caused you to narrow your eyes, and you frowned.
"You will pay for that, you know." You told him, and just as his lips ghosted on yours, you pulled back with a playful smile. His smile dropped almost instantly when he couldn't kiss you, a pout forming on his lips.
"What do you think about the Zuko costume?" You asked, ignoring the pout of your needy boyfriend. His eyes stared at you for a few seconds, probably expecting you to finally kiss him, but when you didn't he sighed.
"Let's try it." He answered, and you squealed with excitement. "Okay, let's do his best lines. Say- 'I'm never happy.' But with a frown, 'kay?"
His brows furrowed slightly, but he obliged anyway. "Like this?" He asked with a small smile after doing the part flawlessly but pouted when he noticed you weren't even looking at him, but instead looking at your phone screen and hiding your face from him.
His brows furrowed when he couldn't meet your eyes. "Did I do it- wait, are you blushing?" His blunt question didn't help either. "I'm not- I'm not blushing! Just keep doing it." You protested. "Can you say, 'The scar is not on the wrong side!'' He was about to do it when you stopped him, and he noticed how the fangirl in you suddenly took control.
"No, no, actually, can you say 'Hello, Zuko here.' Oh, and- and-" He raised his brows when you suddenly stopped talking -you were choking on your words-, now visibly blushing.
"And?" He pressed, amused by the deer caught in the headlights look you were giving him.
"Could you say... Umm... could you say 'You're so beautiful when you hate the world'?" Your voice was so low that Shouto was sure he couldn't have heard you if he wasn't listening very closely.
"You're so beautiful when you hate the world." He repeated in a low voice that sent goosebumps down your spine. Your eyes widened, feeling like your heart was going to stop in any second.
"Oh my god, Shou." You gulped, hiding your face in his neck since you could feel your cheeks burning, and you just couldn't face him. "I'm starting to think that you weren't joking when you told me you were dating me because I'm so similar to Zuko." He teased with a laugh.
"Don't tease me!" You protested, "Zuko is my first crush."
"That's rough, buddy." He muttered in your hair, just for the sake of hearing you squirming like this.
"I say no to you going as Zuko." You muttered, still hiding your face in his chest.
▪︎▪︎▪︎
"Are you sure you don't want me to go as Zuko?" He asked, apparently never going to stop teasing you about it. Just replaying the memory in your head caused your cheeks to burn, and he was well aware of that, too.
You had finally agreed on the devil-angel costume. As cliche as it was, it was still a really cute idea. Shouto had worn a simple black shirt and a burgundy jacket, and no matter how simple he was wearing, he still looked too handsome. He had plastic red devil horns located between his different colored messy locks, and he held a long, red trident. You shuddered as his eyes roamed over your body, eyes darkening a shade.
"You know, maybe you should wear this more often." He whispered as you walked towards the party. "What, this?" You raised your brows. You hadn't worn anything special either, just a white summer dress -you would have frozen to death if it wasn't for your boyfriends really practical quirk- and angel wings you had found for 5 dollars.
"Y-yeah." He muttered, turning his face away from you. Huh, you thought, look how the tables have turned. "You like my dress, baby?" You asked, and he bit his lip nervously, looking away.
"It looks nice." He fixed his horns and cleared his throat, well aware of how you stopped mid-track and how your face was getting closer to his inch by inch. "Yeah?" You whispered, and just as he was about to kiss you-
"Oh, get a room, you two!" You heard someone call out, making you jump in your place and ruining the moment. It was Sero wearing a spiderman costume, and Mina- she wore an oddly realistic Sailor Moon costume- and was snickering right behind the Spiderman.
"You look devilishly handsome, Todo-kun." She told him, making you roll your eyes.
"Where are the others?" You asked, and she pointed to the room that opened to the living room. "They already started. I can't tell you how hard it was to convince Bakugou to wear something other than his hero costume. He told us he was coming as the future number one hero." She rolled her eyes.
"What did he wear instead?" You asked as you opened the door, but your question was inaudible because of the banging music and chattering that left you dumbfounded for a second or so. The room smelled heavy, and the low lighting took a second for you to get used to it. There were pumpkins everywhere, toilet papers, ghosts, and fake spiders hung from the ceiling.
"Did Momo do all this?" You asked, amazed. "Yeah," Mina answered, shouting. "She's right there." She pointed at the couch that had a Shego from Kim possible, and she looked exhausted. "Oh, poor Momo, she did all the work." You muttered, but before you could go near her and thank her, a wild Pikachu appeared.
"Damn, Y/N, you look godsent!" Kaminari exclaimed when he saw you, his eyes widening, cheeks red with what you suspected to be the effects of alcohol. "What's with everyone and their bad puns today?" You muttered as you felt Shouto's arms pulling you a little closer to him. This caused you to send a quick glance at him, only to find him glaring at Kaminari. The Pikachu, who was oblivious to the cold glare he was receiving from your boyfriend, had two glasses in his hands -the glasses looked like pumpkins, and you noted in your head to go and thank Momo- "Here, drinks for the couple!" Kaminari exclaimed, slipping the cups into your hands, his wide grin causing your eyes to narrow in suspicion.
"What's in it?"
"Eh, don't worry about it and just- finish it in one go!" He told you, tapping your shoulder in a comforting concerning way. You only needed one sniff to know what it was, the strong alcohol scent causing you to grimace.
"Yeah, no." You answered, giving back the cups, which he gladly accepted. "Well then, that just means more alcohol for me!" He cheered, chugging both of the cups. Probably already forgot your existence, he walked towards the small crowd that was dancing, jamming to the music and grinning stupidly.
There was a huge pumpkin in the middle of the room, smoke coming out of it's carved eyes and mouth. People were dancing thoughtlessly around it, making it look like some twisted ritual.
Your eyes found the Sailor Moon that was dancing with Count Dracula -Tokoyami- and Spiderman, who was shooting web all around the place, the sight making you giggle.
You glanced back at your boyfriend, surprised to find him looking at you too, a soft smile on his lips. He lifted his hand without letting go of yours and pressed his lips softly on it, and he miraculously heard your little squeal of shock, despite the loud music that was shaking the decorations.
"Do you want to dance?" He muttered in your ear, leaning forward slightly and the familiar scent radiating from him making you sigh happily. "Yeah." You answered, letting him pull you to the middle of the room. His hand holding yours strongly, pulling you through the crowd, you finally found a place you could dance comfortably.
It was then when the loud music changed, a soft one replacing it instead. The sudden change caused you to look at the DJ -Shoji was supposed to be the Dj, but you locked eyes with a proud looking Ochako, instead. You noticed Shoji standing right next to her, a baffled look on his face- You sent a grateful look her way, and she answered with a bright smile.
"The song changed." Shouto commented, making you giggle.
He pulled you by your hand, causing you to lose your balance and fall towards him, he had a rare smug smile as one of his arms wrapped your waist and pulled you even closer to him.
"Gotta be careful." He muttered, his lips so close to your ear, it made you shiver, and you were sure by the smug smile that was slowly turning into a grin, that he could feel it, too.
"I'm falling for you, Shou." You teased, not expecting his cheeks to tinge pink. He leaned in, and you knew he was going to kiss you by the familiar look that was in his eyes. You had no complaints either, slightly moving on your tippy-toes, you reached towards him.
"I see the lovers are having fun." You heard someone say, the sound causing you to move away from your boyfriend, noting the way his eyes glaring coldly at the intruder. "You know, as a citizen of the most romantic city on earth, I can tell you that-"
"Go away." Shouto told the attention freak who had an emperor costume -Aoyama- without even letting him finish his sentence.
"But I was just telling you-"
"No." Shouto interrupted once again, not letting him finish his sentence. "Can you- can we talk later, Aoyama-Kun?" You told him when he looked like he was about to cry. "You see, we're dancing, and I don't think Shouto's in the mood to have a conversation."
"I'd love to listen to your adventures, though. Maybe you could tell all about it tomorrow?" You added to at least boost his ego a bit. He tried to look uninterested, but Aoyama would've died right then and there. "Yeah, if I have time, of course." He answered, fixing the plastic crown that was on his head and walked away to find a victim worthy of his time.
"Nice, see you later!" You called out and turned back to your grumpy boyfriend.
"Rude." You told him with a teasing poke to his cheek. "He was the one interrupting us. I just told him to go away." He defended himself. "You broke his heart. There's a difference!"
"He should've gone away the first time I told him. I would've talked to him if I wanted to, so why does he need to bother us?" He muttered, well aware the moment was -the second time tonight- ruined. You sighed when more people came your way, making small talk with you, more like Shouto telling them to kindly go away and you fixing the broken hearts. You loved them all, but the heavy air in the room, the smell of alcohol, sweat, perfumes, and many other things, the crowd and the people, all started to be a little too much for you. Though, you still did your best to hide it.
"Let's go." You heard Shouto's soft voice, a whisper that was so close to your ear, it made you shiver. Ignoring the group of people that were trying to talk with you two, he started leading you in a direction, and although you weren't sure where exactly, you trusted him fully and followed him.
You noticed the heavy, suffocating air had started to fade, and as you followed your boyfriend, the air had started to be at least a bit more breathable. You finally saw where he was taking you to, and you couldn't suppress your smile at how well he knew you.
"How did you know?" You asked him, only a meter between you and the balcony that opened to the fresh air and the slightly chilly night.
You just needed a second from all this music, the overly excited and drunk people, and the crowd altogether. And the fact that he had noticed this even before you yourself had just made you want to pull him into a kiss. And judging by the way he was looking at you, you weren't the only one.
"I think I-" He started to talk, but before he could even finish what he was saying, someone broke in between you. Again. "Oh- shit- sorry." A drunk Kirishima sent you both an apologetic grin and tried to find his balance. Shouto held him by his arm and steadied him, not even trying to hide how annoyed he was.
Kirishima's hair had red and orange streaks in it, his face also painted in various shades of red. "Hey, Kiri." You muttered, deciding that the balcony had to wait a while. "And, what are you supposed to be?" You asked him, trying to understand just how drunk he was.
"Oh, you can't tell?! I'm Calcifer, and that's my Howl!" He roared into your ear, pulling his arm free from Shouto, losing his balance once again.
You looked at where he was pointing, only to find the said ashy blonde sulking in the corner of the room, his hair still crazy as ever, though you had to admit the Howl costume looked really good on him.
You must've looked a little too long since you noticed how your boyfriend started to move once again, pulling you out to the balcony before anyone could stop him once again.
The fresh, cold air hit both your faces, making you sigh happily. It was times like this you noticed how nice it was to be able to breathe. There were only one or two people out in the balcony with you, most out here to smoke.
"Finally." He breathed, probably not even aware of the other people out there with you. He still hadn't let go of your hand, his thumb caressing your hand slightly, the small act of affection making your heart go feral.
Expecting him to pull you closer to him, you glanced his way when he didn't do anything, only to find his lips turned down in a frown. "Baby?" You asked. "Is there something wrong?"
"You seemed to like the Howl costume quite a lot." He mumbled under his breath, the tone, and the way he said it making you giggle. He was jealous. He saw the smile on your lips and pouted even more.
"I like you much much better."
"Of course, I'm the one who looks like Zuko, after all." He answered grumpily, but you noticed how his frown had melted into a soft smile, his hands now playing with the ruffles of your wings.
"I love you, Y/N." He whispered, his hands moving up from your wings to your cheek. His face getting closer to yours inch by inch, your hand automatically found it's way to his nape, unconsciously pulling him towards you.
"I love you, too, Shou."
As his warm lips touched yours, you felt so content and safe between his arms, you couldn't help but think that this was the best Halloween you ever had.
