"Cedric would you just sit down?!" You playfully yell at your best friend who went from skipping rocks to throwing random twigs into the lake.

"Buy y/n/n! I want to go swimming, go swimming with me?" The smile on his face knocks the breath right out of you. Your heart swells at anything this boy does, but when he smiles it unlocks something else inside of you.

"Ced, I am in my school robes. I don't want to go into the lake!" You return to looking at your book, not being able to concentrate on the words in front of you because Cedric is staring at you.

"C'mon y/n, I promise the Black Lake won't eat you!" He teases you with a lazy smirk planted on your face.

"I'm not worried about the lake eating me! It is cold, and we don't have any towels to dry off."

"You're a party pooper, I will go swim by myself." Cedric takes off in a sprint towards the water. You smile at his retreating figure, thinking you are off the hook.

Oh were you wrong, you didn't even hear Cedric approach you, but when your book went flying you saw the boy in front of you with a mischievous smirk.

"Cedric Diggory! If you touch me while you are sopping wet I will bloody kill you!" You say slowly but with a smirk.

"I would love to see you try dove." Cedric grabs both your hands to pull you up from the ground.

You are smiling but also trying to resist him pulling you into the lake. "Y/n stop fighting!"

"NEVER!" At this Cedric picks you up bridal style and takes off to the lake. You stop fighting and instead brace yourself for the inevitable surrounding of water.

When Cedric reaches the water he takes a few steps in, and then turns around and trust falls into the water with you secured in his arms. Both of you come up, but now you are sitting in his lap. You both laugh and realize you are closer than expected.

Cedric cradles your face to wipe the mascara running down your cheeks. The gesture is so small, but monumental when realizing you both are looking into each other's eyes, holding your breath.

"I don't wanna be your friend, I want to kiss your lips," Cedric whispers, still cradling your face gently.

"What are you waiting for?" That is all Cedric needed to hear before he brought your face to his connecting your lips. You wrap your hands around his neck to pull him closer, wanting to be as close as you could to him. The kiss was so soft and spoke more for both of you than you could ever express. It was love, you both knew it, you both could feel it from the other.

You pull away, "I wanna kiss you until I lose my breath." Cedric smiles and places his forehead against yours.

"Oh, y/n, I believe I have fallen for you so deeply."

"Good thing Ced, I have loved you forever."

a/n; this is so short i’m so sorry

the great hall; or as you liked to call it, personal hell.

it was too loud, stuffy, and populated for your comfort and typically left you on edge. as your leg bounced ruthlessly, occasionally hitting the underside of the table, you shoved a sandwich in your mouth to avoid having to talk to anyone who sat near you.

it was lunch; easily the most populated. you would opt to take lunch back up to your dorm but you couldn’t spare a chance of being harassed by other students for being weak. being in hufflepuff, muggleborn, and shy, you were an easy target when alone. on top of all of that, you didn’t have too many friends. you had the occasional study group with some fellow hufflepuffs and ravenclaws and that was about it. they were nice enough.

as you were getting lost in thought, you felt a tap on your shoulder. you looked up behind you and saw a tall boy looking at you with a small smile gracing his lips. as you tried to come back down to reality, you shook his outstretched hand. “i don’t think we’ve met, im cedric, cedric diggory.” he spoke. his voice reminded you of smooth molasses, rich and posh. you nodded in acknowledgment and went to speak but the sandwich in your mouth caused you to cough a bit. cedric chuckled at this and you felt a pit of dread in your stomach from embarrassing yourself without even speaking.

cedric surprisingly picked up on this relatively quickly; reading you like an open book. “oi, s’alright, the sandwiches are really good. don’t blame ya.” he said, that same smile still gracing his lips.

after the awkward encounter with cedric, you found your mind drifting off yet again as you sat in transfiguration. apparently you weren’t the only one; cedric had fallen asleep during the lecture. as you slowly came down from your daydream, you glanced over him and stifled a cough to warn him as professor mcgonagall waltzed to his seat.

it didn’t work.

with a zap of blue sparks, his long discarded transfiguration book turned into a rabbit hopping about his desk. he woke up with a start and the whole class was bellowing with laughter.

“i may have expected this from a gryffindor, but you mister diggory? five points from hufflepuff.” the professor spoke straight faced. you giggled to yourself quietly as cedric stared at her gobsmacked, the rabbit still hopping about his desk.

as the professor walked back to her desk, your head followed. cedric’s didn’t. his eyes were on the back of your head as he zoned out to the sound of your laugh that had occurred only moments ago.

he would definitely have to speak with you again when your mouth wasn’t stuffed with a sandwich.

You sighed lightly, kicking your shoes back and forth as you watched the water ripple slightly below your shoes. Your hair fell in front of your face as you adjusted your sitting position on the rock next to the Great Lake.

“Hey,” A voice startled you out of your thoughts and you jumped slightly before relaxing when you saw that it was just Cedric.

He plopped down onto the rock beside you, leaning back on his arms as he tilted up his head to soak in the sun. And Merlin, did he look good.

You had developed a one-sided crush on the Hufflepuff boy a few months ago when the seating chart had been rearranged in Charms and you were placed beside the boy. His friendly demeanor had been what had drawn you to him at first, and everything else that was so wonderful about him was a large plus as the two of you became quick friends.

Of course though, you had heard what everyone else was saying about how he and Cho were together. And though you never worked up the courage to ask him yourself, you supposed the way they always walked together in the hallways could be seen as coupley.

“What’s wrong?” He asked, eyebrows furrowing slightly as he lolled his head to look at you, immediately noticing your lack of usual joy.

A shaky breath left your lips as you quickly averted your eyes, “Nothing, Ced,” You told him softly.

He bumped his shoulder against yours gently, “Hey,” Making sure you were looking at him before he spoke again, “You can talk to me, you know you can.”

“It’s just…” You trailed off before taking a deep breath to gain the courage to tell him what was bothering you, “I don’t understand why I was put into Gryffindor. All of my house mates and friends are so much more energetic and braver than I ever will be and it’s just hard to keep up with them sometimes,” You admitted in a whisper, “I feel like a don’t belong with them.”

“You do belong with them,” His voice drew you to face him once more, “You are the bravest, kindest, most loyal person I know. And yes, some of those go with other houses, but that doesn’t mean that you belong any less.” His eyes bore into yours to show you he meant it, “You are where you are meant to be and never let anyone make you feel differently.”

“Cedric,” You whispered, but before you could continue, the boy had let his eyes flutter shut and he had begun to lean closer to you.

As you felt yourself begin to lean in as well, your eyes flew open and you jerked back in a panic, remembering that he was dating someone.

His eyes opened in confusion, “What’s wrong?” He asked, as if he didn’t know what was happening.

“I-we can’t-“ You choked out, not knowing how to believe that the boy in front of you- the selfless one you had begun falling for- could ever cheat on someone, “You’re dating Cho, Cedric!” You cried out.

His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “Cho? Cho Chang?” When you nodded rapidly, he threw his head back with a laugh, one that was always contagious under different circumstances.

“What is it?” You demanded in horror, “What about this is so funny?”

He quieted to a small chuckle, “I didn’t think you actually believed those rumors.”

“R-rumors?” You stuttered out.

He nodded his head, a light smile of amusement playing on his lips, “Yes, rumors. Cho and I are just friends, that’s it.”

“O-oh,” You breathed out, sagging slightly in relief.

“Is it okay if I do this, now?” He asked patiently, slowly leaning in, but keeping his eyes open just in case you denied him.

Still in slight shock, you nodded your head meekly and allowed his lips to connect with yours.

When you yelled at the Dursleys on the phone; He could see the rage in your eyes, how everything you said to the people who treated him so badly for so many years was true and above all, that it came from the heart (as horrible as it was, that was what you felt).

“An undesirable young lady? Better people have said worse things to me, much worse. Your damn birth certificate is a letter of apology from the condom factory, and I’m really jealous of all the people who haven’t met you, I wish I was one of them, you are the literal human version of a headache. Fuck off.” snapped the girl, hanging up the phone furiously

“Wow” muttered an astonished Potter

“I’m sorry Harry … I-” said the young woman, rubbing her forehead to relieve the tension that that family had produced.

“You’re amazing” he interrupted without thinking, realizing immediately what he said, making his cheeks turn a light pink tone

She just laughed, trying to stay calm at the boy’s recent comment and quickly changing the subject.

𝐑𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲:

When he tasted your food for the first time; I know, I was not surprised either. Both Molly and Arthur came out of the burrow, leaving the teenagers alone in the house…

What could go wrong?

The answer is everything.

Fred and George almost burned Crookshanks, Hermione was yelling at them for that, as for Ginny and Ron, they were famished. You had to put an end to this before things got out of hand, only one thing could occur to you.

“Guys, let’s eat!” Y/N exclaimed from the kitchen, making everyone stop all action they were doing at the time

“Did you actually cook?” Ron asked, as everyone approached the table.

“Yes, Spaghetti with pesto” she smiled, putting two plates on the table “Can you help me?” The twins quickly approached the plates, placing everything to eat

“Bloody hell…This tastes amazing” Ron paused as if his thoughts had come to a complete stop when he said the phrase. Y/N shrugged, a gesture she always gave when she was proud of herself.

If the boy was already beginning to feel things for one of his closest friends, cooking well only confirmed his feelings. And let’s say your ego wasn’t exactly since that was the first time you cooked something so “elaborate”.

𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐟𝐨𝐲:

When you snapped back; Draco enjoyed teasing people, it was just his nature. As a good Malfoy, he did not know how to express his feelings (however light they were) and the girl who has seemed interesting to him since he met her was not going to be spared from his teasing.

“Do you know how I think Dumbledore chooses his favorites? It’s the people they feel sorry for. Look, there is Potter, who has no parents, then there are the Weasleys, who have no money; You should be on the team, Y/L/N, you have no brain” the blonde said with that stupid smile as always, making the aforementioned girl turn her attention to him

“Oh yeah? And what exactly have you achieved in your life that makes you a bloody genius?” asked the girl, making the boy roll his eyes “Well, keep rolling your eyes, maybe you’ll find a brain hidden back there” she said loudly enough for the class to listen, making everyone giggle and some laugh loudly

“My father-” he could not finish the sentence, as the girl spoke again

“Your father will hear about this, we know brave little prince. Now go with daddy and cry about how my honesty hurt your enormous ego” finished the young woman, turning to the front of the room where the teacher entered to start the class

Did he feel humiliated? Yes. And that only made you more interesting in his eyes… maybe he had a crush.

𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐦:

When you read an entire herbology book just to help one of his plants; That bonsai was giving him trouble. If something mattered to Neville more than his friends, it was his plants (which in a way were also part of his social circle) Watering, fertilizing, pruning, fencing, pest prevention and transplants had to be done in due course, otherwise the leaves will begin to fall, endangering the health and life of the bonsai, taking time away from the boy but his big heart prevented him from letting him die. So you decided to read a whole book on bonsais to help him.

"Y/N?” Neville asked when he saw the girl with the tree at a table in the Great Hall.

“Oh, Neville! I’m glad you came. I’ve been reading about how to take care of bonsai, the problem seems to be the light… you have it on the stool next to your bed, right?” asked the girl

“Yes” he confirmed, sitting next to her

“You could put it outside for the day, Madame Sprout could keep it in a safe place with lots of light too. The ideal is a window facing south, but the roof of the greenhouse will do” the girl smiled sweetly, bringing the pot to the boy

“How do you know all that?” She said checking the little tree

“I was in the library yesterday… Muggle plants are very interesting” she said with a giggle, she could see the sparkle in Neville’s eyes but decided not to mention anything about it.

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲:

When he realized how much he loved your laugh, the kind of laugh that makes your stomach hurt; You both had exams the next day, but that didn’t matter, you two were your only priority. Fred had the prototype of the “Basic Blaze Box” (which years later he would sell in the store) and you both thought it would be a great idea to try them out in the woods.

“Fred someone is going to see them!” warned Y/N laughing, not really wanting to stop

“It’s much more fun if we get caught, don’t you think, dear?” Fred laughed, throwing another firework into the sky.

“We are so stupid” smiled the girl, throwing one herself

About five minutes later, one of the fireworks exploded much louder in the sky, causing a great roar, making Fred and Y/N stop laughing.

“Shit” muttered Y/N after making sure nothing was on fire “FRED, RUN!” She laughed again, taking the redhead’s hand to run towards the castle in a fit of laughter

There it was; Your laugh was like ripples in a calm pond after a stone was thrown at it. Radiating outward through the normally silent and crowded children’s hallway, it was a sound he could hear endlessly if it were up to him. That was the reason why from then on, his main objective was to make you smile and laugh.

𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲:

When he realized that he was more worried about you being worried for him than for his own safety; Fred had the stupid idea of entering the Triwizard tournament. He was always the wiser twin, always thinking a little more about the outcome of things than his brother.

“Come on mate! How bad could it be?” Fred tried, while preparing the potion

“No, Y/N would be very worried” he blurted out, flatly refusing but realizing the situation; He thought on how much his death would affect you rather than  actually losing his life.

“Wow, I knew you liked her but that’s… being completely and hopelessly in love brother” said Fred as if he was reading his mind

In the end, he agreed to take the aging potion because he knew it wasn’t even remotely close to working.

𝐂𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲:

When he realized that he could only sleep if he was by your side (after long sleepless nights); One night, you were studying in the Hufflepuff common room with Cedric, they had to deliver an essay on “The Futility of Burning Witches in the 14th Century.” You both ended up around 2 in the morning, and it was definitely not going to be nice if you were found awake at that time.

”It’s only five hours until breakfast” Y/N yawned, stretching

“Only five hours?” Cedric laughed, leaning back slightly on the couch.

They chatted for a few minutes before they both fell asleep, unconsciously, in each other’s arms. The next morning, they woke up around 8. Diggory noticed how the sun filtered through the circular windows of the living room, strange that he could wake up so calmly and well rested. He lowered his gaze, you leaning on his chest with calm breathing in his eyes… there it was, love.

summary: y/n gets overwhelmed in potions class, but Ced is there to save the day (and ask y/n out).

“Why must Snape assign the most tedious work?” I mumble to myself as I stir my potion counter-clockwise, which would be fine, but I’m not sure if I’ve stirred seven or eight times. My inability to stay focused while brewing potions might be why my potions OWL was…subpar.

“Hey, do you need help?” I’d recognize the soft velvety voice that’s asking anywhere. Cedric Diggory. The guy that every girl in this school is fawning over. The worst part of it is that I can’t even blame them. He’s gorgeous, compassionate, and benevolent. Anyone would want him.

“Yeah, some help would be great,” I admit my defeat as I watch him continue mixing the potion. He adds in something leafy and green that I couldn’t even begin to name. As he stirs the potion, I watch the soft veins in his hands emerge. His sleeves are rolled up, and my eyes trail up his exposed forearms, and slowly to his chest. It’s strong, and I wouldn’t mind laying my head on it while I listen to his heartbeat. We’re shoulder to shoulder as we (really just him) fix the potion, but I don’t mind being so close. I’m admiring his honey hair when he turns to me.

“That should fix it,” he shoots me a gleaming smile while leaning into my ear, “as long as you follow the instructions this time,” he says with a playful whisper. I feel the hairs on my neck raise at the sensation of his breath on my jaw.

“Thank you so much, Ced,” I say the words with a sigh of relief for my grade as he pulls away from me.

“Sorry, what’d you just call me?” His smile drops as he raises one of his eyebrows. I can smell the cologne radiating off his soft skin, but I can’t focus on that as I panic at the realization I called him Ced instead of Cedric.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you didn’t like being called that.”

“I like whatever you want to call me,” he says with a grin. It's the same shimmering smile that has every girl at Hogwarts falling for him. The same one I wouldn’t mind getting to see up close again.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” The words come out flatly because I’m in such shock at his statement. I don’t think I’ve ever had someone flirt with me so obviously.

“It means maybe I could take you out sometime?” I feel every nerve in my body when he says that. He could realistically be asking anyone out, but here he is, standing next to me in potions, with his shoulder pressed against mine, asking if I’ll go out with him.

“You’re really asking me out in potions class?”

“Would you prefer I wait till Charms?” He smirks, and I can’t help but dissolve into laughter with him.

“Not at all,” I pause as we take a moment just to smile at each other, “I’d love to go out with you Cedric.”

"hey gin, ron, hermione, and little harry potter," you ruffled the boy's hair. he looked away shyly, a light tint growing on his cheeks.

"mr weasley," you shook the father's hands, "good to see you again y/n."

"i see you two know each other?" amos raised his eyebrows.

"y/n came over to the burrow for the summer of her and the twin's third year," arthur explained.

"how lovely, this is my son cedric,"

"of course. the children have told me about him, a brilliant wizard this one," arthur pat cedric's shoulder.

"we best be off then! everyone grab hold of the boot," amos stuck out the boot.

"brilliant wizard my arse, considering all the snogging you do during classes," you whispered so only cedric could hear.

"oh sod off, don't act like you aren't part of it either," cedric smirked.

you placed one hand on the boot, and cedric put his over yours.

you soon found your body twisting and turning, doing flips, then you landed perfectly on your feet just outside the quidditch stadium.

cedric on the other hand, was laid flat on his back the ground groaning.

"oh cedric, i know you love me very much but you don't have to kiss the ground i walk on," you placed a hand over my heart dramatically.

"help me up," he huffed.

"fine," you stuck your hand out for him.

cedric grabbed it and pulled you down onto the ground with him under you.

he led out a mischievous grin as you landed on his chest.

"godrics you're annoying."

"shut up," cedric teased.

"make me," you grinned.

cedric pushed you closer to him by your neck and attached his lips to yours.

"ahem," mr diggory cleared his throat awkwardly and you quickly pulled away.

"oh come on y/n, you're going to miss the bloody game with all that snogging," fred pulled you away from cedric, helping you back on your feet.

fred and george swung their arms over your shoulders, making kissing noises as the three of you followed arthur into the stadium.

"you love her don't you?" amos asked his son as they walked side by side.

"i think i do," cedric said rather confidently.

"i see the way you look at her, it's the same way i look at your mum," amos face fell at the thought of his wife.

"oh come on father, it wasn't your fault," cedric tried to cheer his father up.

"blimey dad! how far up are we?" ron exclaimed as all of you climbed up what felt like your 100th flight of steps.

"well put it this way, if it rains, you'll be the first to know," a posh voice spoke from below you.

"father and i are in the minister's box, by personal invitation of cornelius fudge!" draco boasted.

lucius saw you standing in the group, "y/n?"

"father. draco." you greeted your father and brother.

when your father and mother got a divorce, you chose to live with narcissa while draco chose to live with lucius.

your mother and you lived in a large cottage just off of ottery st catchpole. that's actually how you met cedric, you would often read by the lake and he did too. you noticed he seemed rather familiar and struck a conversation with him, realising you both went to hogwarts.

"you're welcome to join us if you'd like y/n," your father offered.

"no thank you, i'd rather stay with them. they feel more like family to me than you ever will," you spat.

lucius glared at you and walked away. draco made eye contact with you, and you saw him crack a small smile.

no matter how much he reminded you of your father, you still loved draco endlessly. he was your baby brother and you often owled him in secret.

"hey you alright?" cedric placed a comforting hand around your waist.

"yea i'm alright," you softened into his embrace.

you made your way to your seats and gripping onto the railing, looking over it.

soon the bulgarian team's mascots walked out onto the field.

ron, harry and the twins were basically shooting heart eyes at the veelas. they were almost falling off the railings, hermione and ginny having to hold them back before they actually did.

cedric however, was unaffected by them. instead, his eyes stayed glued to you, admiring each and every one of your features.

"hey lover boy, stop staring." you teased.

"i can't help it love, you're beautiful," cedric rested his face on his palm, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

"more than those veelas?"

"definitely more than those veelas," cedric placed a soft kiss on your forehead.

the two of you enjoyed the rest of the match, not knowing that the worst was just about to come.

Hi I saw that requests was open for Bruce Wayne AND Cedric Diggory, nothing has ever made me happier! Could I please request a Cedric one where him and reader has been friends for years, both of them liking each other a bit more but neither has ever confessed their feelings.. the triwizard tournament is happening and reader feels left out because he’s always surrounded by people now, and that makes her pull away from him and he can’t understand why (give me the angst and the hurt/comfort). Pairing: Cedric Diggory x Reader

Warnings: bad grammar, bad writing, maybe a little bit of angst.

A/N: I took a few personal liberties with the reader, the reader does have Golden eyes. I tied in an aspect of the movie "Tangled" because it was on while I was writing this lol. Instead of long, golden, repunzel hair. The reader just has golden eyes. Anyways, hope you enjoy it!!

“Ugh, excuse you!” I huffed as two kids ran by me with huge “Cedric” banners flowing behind them. I rolled my eyes and continued walking down the halls. If you had told me in first year that the awkward, shy kid that I made friends with would be the guy every girl would wanna be with and every guy wanted to be, I would have called you crazy. But as the years went on, I watched that boy grow, he became more sure of himself. He was handsome, strong, and popular. His eyes became my favorite thing in this school. His laugh became my favorite sound. Of course, I would never tell him how I felt. He saw me as his best friend, that was it. He would constantly tell me about the latest girl he was swooning over. 

Sitting down under a tree in the grass, I pulled out one of my books to begin studying. I could see Cedric laying on one of the benches, surrounded by people. My heart ached for the days that it would just be him and I on that bench, his head in my lap. I would run my fingers mindlessly through his hair as he talked about his dreams. He always told me about his dreams. It was our thing. We would talk about our dreams for the future. What we wanted to do, who we wanted to be.  ‘Focus y/n. Stop staring’ I tore my eyes away as Harry Potter walked up to Cedric. Forcing my eyes to look at the page, not actually taking in any information. A few minutes later I saw someone sit down beside me. “Hey” Gosh that voice. I looked up at him, his smile breaking down all of my defenses. “Y/N, I wanted to ask you something…” I smiled, quirking my eyebrow up. “ oh my goodness!! Cedric Diggory?? THE Cedric Diggory wants to talk to ME?” I placed my hand over my chest dramatically as he rolled his eyes. 

“Cedric!! Come on!” Some girl came running up to us, grabbing at his arm. Her grip on his arm seemed to be tightening around my heart as she pulled him up off the grass. Cedric turned back to me. “To be continued?” I laughed, nodding my head and waving to him as he walked away. Shoving my book back into my bag, I stood up and made my way back to the common room, hoping the tears would stay at bay until I was in private.

I fixed my eyes on Cedric as I walked through the great hall. I smiled to myself, seeing the open seat next to him that he always saved for me. However, that smile faded as my ears tuned into a conversation coming from the Gryffindor table. 

“I tried to ask her, but she said she was going to the ball with Cedric…” My feet anchored to the floor as my heart shattered into a million pieces. He hadn’t even mentioned asking someone. I immediately made my way to an empty section at the table. Pulling some books out and putting them on the table. I glanced over at Cedric who was already looking at me with a questioning look. He waved me over but I shook my head, pointing at my books as if I had to study. Near the end of the meal, I saw Cedric stand up and start walking towards me. I couldn’t bear to talk to him, so I slammed my book shut, standing up and walking quickly out of the great hall and straight to my room. 

By the time I woke up in the morning, the hurt in my chest had faded into a dull ache. It would have been easy to walk the halls to my first class if I didn’t see his name plastered literally everywhere I turned. I walked into Potions late of course, earning a lecture from Snape (per usual). Cedric had saved me a seat, the only seat available. I sat down, keeping my gaze on the desk. About ten minutes into class, I saw a note slide into my vision. “You okay?” I looked towards Cedric and nodded. A few minutes later another note came into view. “Any new dreams lately?” I smiled, scribbled an answer and slid it over to him. “None…you?” A few minutes later “The usual, no new dreams. Excited for the ball?” I sighed, grabbing the paper, scribbling down the words “not going” I pushed it over, watching his face turn into confusion. There was no way I was going.

“I can’t believe I’m going to the Ball.” I said, looking at myself in the mirror. The dress was beautiful, but I felt ridiculous. Going alone. “How many times are we going to have a BALL?? You have to go!!” my roommates had “convinced” me to go. “Besides, you will get to show Cedric what he is missing out on.” I blushed “I don't know what youre talking about” they all glanced at each other. “Oh please, if you’re going to lie about your feelings, then you could at least stop crying his name in your sleep.” “or moa-” I slapped my hand over her mouth before she could finish. “OKAY! Let’s go.” 

“Alice, everyone’s staring at us.” I said as we made our way down the stairs. “They are not staring at us, they’re staring at you…and that guy just looked..” I hooked my arm into hers, anxiety burning my veins. “Just don’t let me fall.” My body froze as my golden eyes scanned over the crowd, landing on Cedric. He was standing next to Cho…of course that’s who he asked. She’s gorgeous, kind, smart. There was no competition. I walked up to them, smiling and reaching out my hand, greeting Cho. “oh wow, you must be Y/N! You look-” “beautiful..” His voice finished her sentence. I turned my head sharply to hide the blush that grew on my cheeks.

The further Cedric got into this tournament, the further we grew apart. I hated this tournament. This tournament tore apart our friendship. It was finally time for the third task. I remember standing in the cold. Just staring at the maze. It felt like hours. A few people had sat down, all the noise had died down. We sat in silence. Finally, I saw Harry appear with Cedric and the cup. But the relief in my body burned into deep sorrow as I realized Cedric’s body was lifeless. I fought my way through the crowd, crying out in agony as my elbows pushed into anyone that stood in my way. My eyes never leaving his body. I threw my body onto his, my tears already soaking his shirt. “Nonononono, please, please, please.” I sat up, running my hand over his face..closing my eyes. “Please please let this work..” I could hear his father coming up behind me as I started the song, the song that had healed so many people before this moment. My magic was rare. It’s why they wanted me here in the first place. Nobody had ever seen anything like it. Golden eyes and a song that could heal what has been hurt, change the fate’s design. “Save what has been lost, bring back what once was mine…” I had never used this much of my magic before and I didn’t even know if it would work. As I finished the song, my vision started to fade. I fought to stay awake, to see if it had worked. I gave myself into the darkness just as I felt his chest lift with a deep breath of air.

“Do you even know she is going to wake up?” 

“She has to…she is going to be okay…she has to be…”

“Cedric dear, you should go get some rest. She will still be here in a few hours..”

“I told you, I’m not leaving.”

I let my eyes open slowly, taking in my surroundings. I was in the infirmary. 

“No wonder my back hurts, this darn cot” Cedric’s head snapped towards me at my words.

“Y/N! Oh my god, what were you thinking? Never do that again!!” He pulled me into a bone crushing hug as I sat up. “Okay..Cedric..kinda just woke up from a coma here..” he pulled away muttering an apology. “You’re here, you’re alive…it worked.” I smiled as I put my hand on the side of his face. “Y/N, I can’t believe you risked yourself like that.” 

“Of course I did, Cedric. I love you. I almost lost you. I couldn’t live with that. I had to try. You need to know that I love you. So much. More than a best friend. I love you with my whole heart.”

Cedric listened to my confession in silence as I rambled on about how much I loved him but eventually he cut me off by pressing his lips into mine. “I love you Y/N. More than a best friend. I always have. You are my dream.”

Only a few days ago, Cedric had been fighting dragons in an arena whilst three of the greatest schools in Europe watched, and now all he felt like he could do was lay still in his bed.

It was understandable to be tired after such an event, but he had hardly left his room since, and now people were starting to talk.

Even when he would venture into the halls of the castle, it'd be exhausting for him to keep up his cheery facade whilst being congratulated by yet another stranger.

More than once, you had brought meals up to his room on the worse days. You didn't mind doing this of course, but guilt tore at Cedric's heart. He didn't want his girlfriend trailing around and bringing him things, no matter how often you reassured him that you were happy to do so.

He was glad that his Professors had become more lenient on him, letting him skip most classes to recover. All he had to do was a few essays as a form of homework, but he could hardly manage to force his heavy emotions away from his mind for long enough to complete all of his work.

More often than not, you completed the essays for him, or read him passages from textbooks as he lay his head on your stomach.

Today happened to be one of those occasions. You were sat on the edge of his bed with a small textbook in your hand and Cedric's head in your lap.

His tired eyes were closed as he listened to you recite paragraph after paragraph about the Draught of Peace. Your hand occasionally ran through his wavy hair, making sure he was comfortable while he rested his head against your thighs.

"Y/n." Cedric suddenly said, causing you to move the textbook to the bed so that you could get a better look at him.

"Yes, love?" you ask, brushing a stray strand of brown hair away from his eyes.

"Cuddle with me?" he spoke, slightly hesitant to ask due to his embarrassment, "Properly, not just this. I haven't been sleeping too well since the... you know."

"You think I'll be able to help you sleep?" you ask quietly, only just louder than a whisper.

"You always help, but of course you don't have to stay overnight if you don't want to." Cedric replied just as softly.

"Of course I will," you nod happily, "I'll grab us some dinner and then we can sleep."

Just when you shuffle Cedric's head off your lap and stand up so that you can take a trip to the Great Hall, he grabs your wrist so you can't walk away.

"Don't go." he pleads, swinging his legs over the side of the bed to be sitting there instead of laying.

"What?" you ask tentatively, moving to be seated beside your boyfriend, "You do realise that you need to eat something, right?"

"How about we get into the kitchens later on?" he suggested, finding an answer that would please both of you, "We can take a nap during everyone's dinner hours and then we can sneak out when we wake up."

"Promise?" you ask again. Though it may have come across as overbearing, you needed to be sure that he would let you take care of him later on.

"Promise." Cedric confirmed, leaning to rest his forehead to yours with a sincere smile, a smile that told you that he wasn't lying.

You stare back into his eyes for a moment, then pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of his nose. This caused his nose to scrunch up as he let out a laugh.

That was one of the few times you'd heard him properly laugh since the first task, it was unlike the polite fake chuckles he gave in response to someone who'd approached him in the common room.

Cedric took you by surprise by wrapping his arms around your waist to pull you down to lie down with him. The two of you faced eachother, his arms still around you and yours found their way into his hear again.

But before you got too comfortable where you were, you yanked the duvet cover up and over the both of you so you could share it's warmth.

"What?" you ask in confusion when you see your boyfriend's eyes lingering on you for a little longer than usual.

"Am I not allowed to stare at my lovely, beautiful girlfriend anymore?" he teased, pulling you closer by a few inches, "I can't really help myself."

A small squeak of surprise leaves your lips before you could hold it in, so to hide your flustered state, you bury your face into Cedric's chest.

From this angle, all he could see was the top of your head and the soft strands of your hair that were splayed across his pillows in a perfectly imperfect way.

"You can't just catch me off-guard like that, Ced!" you groan in fake annoyance, voice muffled by his body.

"But it's so much fun!" he says, and you can practically hear the smile behind his words.

You mumble something quietly in response, purposefully not loud enough for him to hear. So when you lean back to look up at his face, he's raising a questioning eyebrow at you.

Though Cedric was putting on a front of playful confrontation, he was really admiring how you looked in the low-light of his personal prefect's dorm room, and how breathtaking you were in moments like these.

"I do mean it though." he sighs, revelling in the way you tilt your head up and closer to his.

Your lips were now close enough to be brushing against his, "I know." you mumble back sheepishly.

The brunette couldn't stop himself from pressing his lips against yours further, you'd drawn him in and he was happy to fall for your game. Your eyelids fluttered shut along with his as his hands gripped your waist slightly tighter.

It was an innocent, yet emotional, kiss that conveyed a lot of unspoken feelings towards one another.

But Cedric pulled back for a moment, as if he had suddenly come to some sort of realisation, "Sweetheart, could you promise me something now?"

"Depends on what I'm promising." you reply, only half-joking, brushing your thumb over the highs of his cheeks soothingly.

His deep grey eyes gazed into yours with a seriousness that you'd only seen once or twice before, "Promise that you'll keep kissing me until I forget about how terrified I am about everything going wrong in my life."

"That's something that I'll gladly do, Ced." you say softly, leaning in to press another tender kiss to his smiling lips.

You sigh looking down the table at Cedric seeing him laugh with some boys from the quidditch team

“Still nothing huh?” Jess asks smiling sadly across from you

“It’s been weeks, I really thought…” you scrunch up your nose shaking your head “…I don’t even know what I thought anymore”

You and Cedric had been friends for years, the two of you were usually inseparable. As you entered your final year your friendship morphed into a flirty one, he was more touchy with you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder or sitting closer to you at mealtimes. When he started flirting with you, you began to flirt back matching his energy, linking your arm with his as you walked or even playing with his hair when he laid his head on your lap in the common room.

Over the year you had grown accustomed to it, your little childhood crush coming back in full throttle so when he just suddenly stopped talking to you it broke your heart. Worst bit was you had no idea what you did wrong, where you went wrong, one day you were giggling and cuddling on the couch in the common room the next he was avoiding you like the plague. Your friends Jess and Sam said to give him some time, that maybe something was going on with him and he’ll come back when he’s ready, but it had been almost a month now and still nothing

“I know we said to wait but maybe it’s time for you to confront him?” Sam rubs your back “The worst part of it is not knowing right? At least if you know you can get some kind of closure or…”

“Punch him” Jess suggests casually earning a glare from her partner

“I was going to say help him if he is going through something, although if he is an arse when you talk to him by all means” You giggle at Sam before they turn to look at Jess “You know sometimes I wonder if the sorting hat got it wrong putting you in Hufflepuff” they tease

“Hey, I am a badass Hufflepuff” Jess points at them “We are supposed to be fierce friends so when one of them makes my little y/n upset I will kick their ass ergo I am perfect for this house” Jess rebuts smiling triumphantly at the end as you giggle at her
