This is so true

Can’t properly explain it, but “I like this character”, “I like how this character is written” and “I care about this character” are 3 very different things which may or may not overlap.

I just spent the last hour or so playing Far From Noise and I don’t believe I’ve had a video game come into my life at a time where I’ve needed it more.

I deal with depression like many people and even with a support network and a therapist it gets really difficult. The last couple of weeks have been rough and I saw it bleeding into the way I played the game. While I’ve never been in the exact situation as the protagonist, much of what the protagonist and the character I will not describe talked about resonated with me. I enjoy hiking and love taking in nature and much of some things said hit home (sometimes a little too close). While playing this short little game, I actually found myself crying as I picked options that actually spoke to how I am feeling and laughed a small snippets that lightened the mood.

Honestly I can’t recommend this game enough, but I acknowledge not everyone might be in the right headspace for it. If you’re worried, I recommend checking out what it’s about first. It’s not a cure for depression (AT ALL) but it is profound and soothing in a weird way.
