Janis âImiâike x Regina George (+ âImiâike little sister)
Warnings: some coarse language, fluff
âYou like her? Of course thatâs okay! Why wouldnât it be okay?â

Somethingâs been on your mind a lot lately, or rather, someone. You always hung out with your sister and her friends in the garage whenever they came over and you always had a blast. Those people were nice to you and hilarious. Especially Damian. He always made everyone laugh until their stomachs hurt. Well, lately, you felt yourself getting crazy butterflies around a certain someone in Janisâ group. The second you realised it, you started to shove those feelings way down.
âNo. No! You canât like Cady. Thatâs crazy, y/n. Did you see what your sister had to go through with Mom and Dad to get to where she was?!â
âHey.â You hear a voice. Janisâ, actually. You didnât respond thoughâ your brain was a mess currently. Thinking about your crush. Seems to be all you were thinking about lately. It was summer, the seniorsâ last one before they went off to college in the fall. Well, for you, it was the last one before you started your final year of high school.
âHey!â Janisâ voice was heard again, this time clearer as you felt a playful smack to your knee, âWhatâs going on with you?â She chuckles over her words, sitting down next to you holding onto a bowl of popcorn.
âNothingâs going on.â
âYeah, sure.â Janis teased, âNothing going on but you constantly look like youâve got something on your mind. Itâs summer, y/n. Not finals week. Relax.â
You scoff, laying down on the opposite side of the couch, your feet right by Janis as she sat next to you, watching the movie on her projector screen. âExcuse me, what was that? Did you just scoff at me, y/n?â
You sigh, turning your body so you could watch the movie properly.
âWhatâs up?â Her face falls, her tone now serious.
âNothing. Just got some stuff on my mind.â
âClearly.â Janis bites back a scoff, âTalk to me about it, whatever it is. I could help.â
âNo, itâs stupid,â
âI doubt it, y/n.â Janis replies.
âWhat timeâs Regina coming over?â You ignored her previous statement.
âAny minute now, and donât ignore what I just said.â She huffs, âIs someone bullying you at school?â
You couldnât help but laugh. Your sister was dating someone who used to be the schoolâs biggest bully. Thank God, used to be.
A couple minutes later, Regina was here. She let herself in, you were about to sit back up so Regina had a spot on the couch. But she stops you, so you relaxed again, watching Janis stand up so Regina could sit, then her getting pulled onto the blondeâs lap. Your mind drifts away again, entirely losing focus of the movie. Wishing that you had Cady with you, that you were the one sitting in her lap while you snuggled up against her. You wanted that, that kind of affection, that kind of intimacy. That kind of love. Sweet, innocent and tender. With each passing second, you grew increasingly annoyed at yourself and your inability to tell the people closest to you the truth, and that you were hoping they could help you. Initially, the latter didnât even come to your mind. But roughly four months ago, Cady called it quits with Aaron. The whole school was talking about it. And perhaps, in that moment, it was your first realisation that you liked her. Because you were rejoicing the fact that they broke up instead of going up to her to check on her, see if she was okay. Aaron was a good guy and they ended things amicably. They were still friends, just like he still was a good friend to the rest of the gang. You only got to know them because Janis was your sister and they naturally just âadoptedâ you into the group for hangouts. Otherwise, theyâd be untouchable. Their group, would be at the top of the high school hierarchy, despite how strongly your sister didnât care about it. Her friends were just her friends. She didnât give a fuck about how others perceived her as long as she was happy with her life. No one else mattered to her other than those closest to herâ that included the gang, and you. Your parents? Not so much. They were why Janis moved out into the garage in the first place. They even made her pay rent, so she worked a retail job at the mall during her free time. But Janis didnât mind it. Being away from your parentsâ roof, per se, allowed her to have peace and clarity in her life. Boundaries have been set. Well, the garage was also not connected to the house so it really became Janisâ own place.
ââââ
While your focused on the movie again several minutes later, you hear them making out a little next to you. They did it so much that at this point, you werenât even bothered by it and just tuned it out.
You didnât hear a thing until someone poked your side and tickled you. You squirm, âStop it. What do you want?â
They both squinted at you like you had three heads, you sulked, âSorry.â
âWe were just asking if you wanted pizza or Thai food for dinner.â Janis shrugged.
âAre you okay?â Regina asks.
You bit the inside of your cheek as the racing in your heart started up again. âShould I tell them or not?â
âThai food.â You gave Janis your answer.
âOkay.â Janis nods, âIâll go make the call.â
âSoâŚâ Regina started again once Janis was out of earshot, âWhatâs up? Something is definitely bothering you.â
âI donât know.â
âYou donât know or youâre scared? Those are two very different things.â Regina says quietly.
âWhatâs going on?â Janis walks back in.
You looked between the pair, words at the top of your tongue. âI like Cady. And it feelsâŚwrong. Scary. Iâ Iâve never felt this way before about a girl and Iâm terrified. What should I do? I feel so stupid.â
âHEY.â Janisâ looked at you with wide eyes.
âNo.â Regina continues next, âYouâre not stupid.â
âStupid with love, maybe.â Janis jokes, trying to make you laugh and lighten the mood, âYou like her? Of course thatâs okay! Why wouldnât it be okay?â â
âJokes aside, Cadyâs totally single and available. Everyoneâs coming by tomorrow for a movie night.â Regina looks up from her phone right when yours and Janisâ phone went off. âHorror movie. Gonna set everything up for you and Cady to get some cute ass moments.â
âOh, I think youâre forgetting Iâm gonna be staying up all night because of a horror movie.â You laughed.
âExactly.â Regina smirked, âShe will definitely do something, like put her arm around you or ask if youâre okay when you get scared.â
âPlease donât do spin the bottle.â You pleaded.
âOh, no. No chance that happening at all. Weâre not gonna even remote risk having history repeat itself.â
âAlright- dinner will be here in about thirty minutes. In the meantime, letâs just all relax and not think about anything thatâll stress us out.â Janis decided. You went to bed that night, initially relieved but then was hit with another worry. Your parents.
âGo to bed. Stop worrying.â You scolded yourself, well, luckily you were able to finally get some decent sleep that night. And you had pretty much a full day to get yourself ready for when Cady comes over that evening.
ââââ
âAlright, pick out a movie.â Regina held up three DVDs from Janisâ sizeable collection. Almost immediately, came a unanimous decisionâ Satanic. Even the cover on the DVD case creeped you out. Janis and Regina shared a knowing look. You were so tempted to run out of the room and back inside the house, but stayed there because Cady was right next to you. You didnât ask her to sit there, she just did.
âYou want one?â Cady asks. You heard her voice but you were spaced out, not wanting to focus on the filmâ that was already starting. When you felt some tapping on your knee, you jumped startled, âShit. Huh?â
âDo you want some?â Cady tilted the bag of Nerds gummy clusters toward you.
âSure.â You chuckled, âThanks.â
She smiles at you and you felt those damn butterflies again. Shoving those candies into your mouth to keep yourself from embarrassment. âAre you okay?â Cady asks quietly seeing that the filmâs already started.
You exhaled heavily, grabbing a couch cushion to squeeze and distract yourself.
ây/n?â She asks again, brows furrowed together in concern.
âNot a fan of horror.â You told her in a mumble.
âThen whyââ
You shook your head, âThey decided they wanted to watch horror.â
âBut they know, right? That you donât likeââ
âOh, yeah.â You let out an exhale in slight amusement.
âAnd that youâre here?â Cady continued.
âYeah.â You nod, âYou know what? Screw this. Letâs go inside and eat some ice cream, I want my sleep tonight.â
âIce cream?â Cady gasped softly, âYeah, letâs.â
You and Cady quietly slipped away, entering the house and headed right for the kitchen. You took out two bowls and two spoons before opening the freezer door. âCookies and cream or chocolate?â
âI love cookies and cream.â Cady says.
âAlright.â You took out the scoop and handed it to her so she could get her portion first before you didâ you wanted the same flavour too.
ây/n?â Cady says while pushing the tub of ice cream over to you. You took the scoop and began to get your own share of the dessert, âYeah?â
âThereâs something Iâve been wanting to talk to you about.â Cady revealed.
You could swear your heart as good as stopped for a second. Taking a deep breath you asked calmly, âWhat is it?â
âI broke up with Aaron because I realised he maybe wasnât as cute as I thought he was.â Cady began, âI uh, I actually thought you looked better than he did. I look at you and I feel more things than I do when he holds my hand or kiss me. Itâ well, honestly itâs like Iâve been using Aaron as a way to try and convince myself I liked guys. And, Iâm sure I do, just like how I now know for sure I like girls too. So itâs just that he wasnât the right one. But y/n, when I look at you, as crazy as it sounds. I can actually picture a future with you.â
You froze, eyes hopefully not widening so much that you looked absolutely nuts. âWh- what are youâ what are you saying?â
âI like you, and not just as a friend.â Cady confirms, âI want you to be my girlfriend.â
You let out a strained laugh, setting down your bowl when you felt your cheeks flushing. You looked down at your feet, avoiding Cadyâs eyes for dear life.
ây/n.â Her voice remains calm and gentle, âTalk to me, please. Say something.â
âYou do?â Your voice cracks, and you sniffle. âShit, why am I crying? This is so embarrassing.â
Cady puts down her bowl too, âLook at me.â And you do, you look up again, your gaze meeting hers. âIâm sorry. I didnât want to be cryiââ
She chuckles, grabbing you a kitchen towelâ the one thing within reach that you could dry your tears with. As you dabbed your tears with the paper towel, you finally let the words slip. âI like you too. I justâ I didnât dare to say it. I didnât know how to, Iâ and then you were with Aaron and when you guys broke up I felt like a shitty person because part of me was happy you were single because to me that meant I had a chance to confessââ
âYou do have a chance with me.â She stops you, âI like you, y/n. I really do.â
âOkay.â You bit back a giggle, and you saw her lean in so you started to blush again.
âFuck! Finally!â Janis squealed, grinning.
You and Cady whipped your heads around so quick, you nearly fell off the barstool. âSorry.â Janis smiled sheepishly, âDidnât mean to scare ya, sis. But oh my God! Iâm so happy for you!â
âJanis!â Cady chided, âKind of in the middle of something here.â
âRight, sorry!â Janis exclaimed, gesturing with her arms, âContinue.â
She went back out to the garage, quickly shutting the door behind herself, allowing Cady to make her move and kiss you. When her lips finally met yours, you were on cloud nine. Though unsure of what to do with this being your first kiss, your worries went away in seconds when she took the lead and deepens the connection for a little moment before breaking away.
Your cheeks were hot. When the sobriety hit, so did your nerves. âWe should probably finish our ice cream.â
âYeah.â She laughs, and ended up grinning the whole time she finished up the half-melted, soupy ice cream. You were the same way, happy. So happy that it went as well as it did.
And then a distant, âWhat?!â Was heard from the door that led to the garage. You both laughed, âAaaand now they know too.â
âGreeeeat.â You chuckled nervously.
âWeâre okay, theyâre great. Donât worry about, weâre in this together now.â
You flashed her an appreciative smile, âYep. You and me. You and meâŚdamn.â

AJ and Gabi were out tonight, the sisters decided to go to a pub and just hang outâ just the two of them. Itâs been a while since they got to do that. Everything was going great until her phone continuously lit up with messages from you. Then, youâd called her. Dropping her half-eaten mozzarella stick into the basket, âExcuse me, Gabs.â She picks up your call.
âAJ?â You hiccuped, âWhere are you? Can you comeâ pick me up please?â
Her blood ran cold, fingers trembling and nearly dropping the device.
âWhere are you, baby?â AJ took a deep breath to calm herself down,
You were crying. âIâ thereâs the gas station on 12th?â
âOkay, I know where you are, stay put. Iâm on my way.â
Hearing the whole conversation, even just AJâs side of it, Gabi was ready to bolt out the door with her after quickly leaving a fifty on the table.
âShe mustâve stopped by our place and no one was home.â AJ sighs, checking her phone periodically in case youâd texted. She wanted to be able to know immediately that you did and not miss anything.
Pulling up at the gas station, they didnât see you outside so AJ got out of the car and ran inside. There immediate relief when she saw you sitting right by the checkout on a stool, but then she was swiftly hit with anger and worry when she saw the red handprint around your neck. âI wanted to call 9-1-1, hon. But she wouldnât tell me anything,â The worker, a lady likely in her 40s, told AJ.
âThanks, Iâll uh, Iâll do that.â
âDoes she even know Iâm here?â She thought to herself.
AJ walks up to you, ây/n.â You blinked profusely, slowly turning your head to look at her. âLetâs go, I got you, baby. Come on.â She says quietly, taking your hand. You just followed her lead, barely able to stand up straight.
You held your tears in until you got to AJâs room, purposely ignoring Gabiâs questions knowing you would not be able to answer them without bursting into tears again.
âDid your Dad hit you?â AJ went right for it.
âMore like I was trying to get my mom away and got dragged into it.â
âSo yes.â AJ grabs her phone again, ready to make the phone call to the authorities.
âHe punched her, threw things at us. Then he shoved me against the wall and did this.â You said, gesturing to your neck. Taking in an unsteady breath, âHe gotâ he got so mad at me for taking a nap because I wasnât feeling well. I tried to take pain medicine because I had a migraine and my damn stomach hurt but he threw it out. Then he just punched me in my stomach.â
AJ tried to keep a straight face but she was fuming at this point. Quickly making the call, she was back to checking on you. âDo you want to go to the hospital? I can take you, baby.â
You were adamant on not going, so she didnât push it. âWhich one were you taking?â
âHuh?â
âThe pain meds.â She clarifies, an arm gently wrapped around you.
âTramadol?â You sniffed, âItâs prescription. I donât have my prescriptionâ and fuck, I needâ it hurts, AJ.â
âWe have Motrin, would you want to take that and see if it helps you a little bit?â AJ asks, stroking your cheek. You nodded, agreeing to do so. She got up and exited her room, going downstairs to retrieve the medicationâ along with something to drink, and eat. She knew you hadnât.
You were curled up in her bed, zoned out when she returned. âHere, eat something, okay? I donât want the meds to hurt your stomach.â She hands you a granola bar, you took it hesitantly.
âHe didnât want to let me have dinner.â You revealed. âSent me up to my room and I fell asleep. He woke me up and started yelling at me then all of that happened.â
She just held you close, whispering words of reassurance into your ear as you rested against her nibbling on the granola bar in hand. Once you had finished that, she took a pill out of the bottle and gave that to you followed by the glass of water. âDo you want anything else? I can cook something up for you.â She asks, taking the glass from your hand and placing it on her nightstand. âNo.â You muttered, she pulls you closer carefully. You snuggled against her chest while she massaged your scalp for a bit, eventually settling on just having her arm around your waist.
âI doubt theyâll do anything, really.â You admit, âI tried.â
âDonât think about any of that right now. And youâre staying here with us.â
You didnât nod, you didnât say anything and just laid there, completely exhausted, defeated. âWhere does it hurt?â
âMy lower left side. Theyâre all saying itâs all in my head.â You told her, âItâs notâ there is something there. I feel it when I press it, the doctors did too.â
âIâm sorry thatâs still bothering you, my love.â AJ wanted to scoff. She knew exactly what you were talking aboutâ she felt the same thing they all did when you had her check it awhile ago. It angered her so much that your doctors have not been listening to you and just tried to shut you up with painkillers. But of course, she didnât. She stayed composed and just cuddled with you, making sure you knew you were safe here with her and Gabi. And well, that little area was where your Dad had punched you in. And it was pulsing non stop, sending wave after wave of sharp, stabbing pains radiating through the surrounding area.
âIt still hurtsâŚâ You groaned softly, shifting yourself a little to get more comfortable. You knew it would take some time for the Motrin to kick in, but you just got the urge to say that. You didnât even think, you just felt it and the words were flying out of your mouth.
âDo you want me to get you a change of clothes?â She kisses your cheek tenderly, âOr just some shorts that are looser around the waist?â
You nodded, âYeah, shorts.â
âOkay, Iâll be just a sec.â She slowly moved away from you and went to rummage through her closet for a suitable pair of shorts.
She was thoroughly stunned by the injury, how that bruise was starting to form. AJ bites back a heavy sigh, quickly going up before you to keep you steady. âYou wanna sit down and change?â
You only shook your head no and continued to put on the shorts with a bit of a struggle. You were okay after all, AJ made sure you were. Before long, you were back in her bed, in the security of her arms. You couldnât sleep though, you just didnât really feel like it. âWe can watch something. Whatever you want.â She grabs her laptop.
âI dunno.â You answered.
âThatâs okay, hm? We can find something together. If not weâll just snuggle. Thatâs fine.â She promised.
You apparently started to cry again and you had no clue why you were crying. The pain meds have already kicked in prior to this. It freaked you out, desperately trying to stop it but AJ wasnât even fazed. âHey.â She squeezed your shoulder, âHey. Look at me, baby.â
ââm sorry.â You babbled, avoiding her eyes.
âBabyâŚitâs okay.â She hushed, âItâs okay. Youâre alright, I promise you.â
âWhy?â
AJ squinted at you, but you didnât see that of course. You were too busy staring at the stripes on her duvet cover, avoiding the eye contact like your life depended on it.
âWhy do you care? Why do you love me? They all just hurt me and think I canât be bothered by it. They never care. So why? Why do you? I donât deserve it.â
Aaaand cue AJâs heart getting stomped on.
âBecause I can.â She answered, âBecause I have it in me to give you the world. As long as I can do it, you will get whatever you want. YouâŚy/n, I have fallen so in love with you. More and more every day, and I donât even hesitate to do whatever helps you. Whatever it takes to see your smile. Baby, you deserve a love that is calm, that is healing and safe. Donât you dare tell me youâre hard to love, because you are not. Falling and being in love has been the easiest thing for meâ no doubt about it. Itâs not like school, itâs not like track. I donât have to live up to othersâ expectations of me. I just do what feels right for you, for us. You are so loved, so so loved, honey. Never forget that. I will always be here just like I have been.â
You then turned to look at her after sheâd finished talking, feeling the impulse to give her a kiss. SoâŚyou did. You leaned in, and she naturally went with it without a moment of hesitance. âI love you.â You broke away from the kiss, cheeks stained with tears, âI love you so much. Thank you for being so patient and gentle with me. It means more to me than you know.â
AJ pulls you back in for another kiss before you both resumed your previous positions and continued to cuddle. Now, you were starting to feel the sleepiness creep up on you. AJ notices, âClose your eyesâŚand just go to sleep. Iâll be right here, not gonna leave. Okay?â
âOkay.â You nod, head against her chest.
âGood.â She wraps her arms around you tighter, âSweet dreams, preciosa.â

Cady & Damian: ...
Janis: I'm cooked, I'm cooked y'all.
Damian: Honestly, same.
