This Is Actually A Great Preview Of The Next Chapter Of As Long As You Follow.
This is actually a great preview of the next chapter of As Long as You Follow.
Also, good to know I'm not the only one who apparently looked up "sturdiest late '90s trucks that probably would still run 20+ years after the apocalypse" and was also greeted with Google being like "let me tell you about the Toyota Hilux" looool

Last Line Tag Game
Rules: in a new post, show the last line you wrote (or drew) and tag as many people as there are words (or as many as you feel like).
Thanks for the tag, @sixhours!
You get two lines, because I don't follow rules. From the next chapter of As Long as You Follow:
He always took such care to say the right things to her, to be aware of her feelings, but he was often a little clumsy with it - his love better manifested itself in more tangible ways, with skilled hands he used to construct and hold and soothe and defend. He wasn't always honest with her, otherwise - and she knew it, knew that when he deemed his words to be sufficient over action, they were carefully crafted to cause her the least amount of pain.
@march-flowerr @toointojoelmiller @becomethesun @hypnotisedfireflies @bumblepony and literally anyone else because I can't tag that many people. ♥️
Feeling a little manic, the last couple of days. Not sure why that is. I had to stop taking my meds because of my cognitive issues (since we can't be sure it's not the medication, rather than long COVID, until we do some more investigating) so it could be related to that. The last time I was manic I wrote about 2/3rds of GYOW embarrassingly quickly. And I've written about 8k words since yesterday, so...at least I have that going for me?

Tommy Miller

I have the sweetest friends in the world, and sometimes they send me presents in the mail when I am at my lowest and they make my day a little better (I think because they are all witches, and I dig that shit).
Ty @lauronk ♥️
I remember that there used to be a LJ community dedicated to making fun of people - like, that was it, "look at this loser dressing weird," or whatever. And I got posted in it, once - someone went through my photos and reposted a bunch of them while making fun of me and calling me ugly and picking apart my clothing. LiveJournal was...quite the time.
Remember how LiveJournal let you have several icons (or avatars or "pfps" as you might call them now)? And you'd carefully choose an icon to fit the subject matter, your tone, and the blog on which you were commenting or posting?
And it could make your argument look that much snarkier if you used a rude one? Or you could use it to add a multiplier to a joke?
And icons, alongside banners and wallpapers, were a whole genre of fanwork with its own design language, conventions, and norms, including carefully crediting people for them?
That was neat.
