Walked.
Walked.
Here she was, pressed against him while the sting of antiseptic burned in her nostrils, yet a chasm had opened between them, yawning wider and deeper with every passing second - and how long would it be, this time, after she walked out that door?

All right, well, I have officially finished both TLoU Part I and (as of like an hour ago) Part II. I cried, I got it out of my system, and maybe now I can actually get some writing done. 💀
✨Out of context line challenge✨
Thanks for the tags, @march-flowerr and @lauronk! the rules: if you're tagged, make a new post and share one or two sentences (or lines for artists) from your unposted WIP with zero context.
There was stunning familiarity in the young face printed on the paper; in the soft smile, the long waves of dark gold cascading gracefully, even in the gentle curve of her cheeks and the light smattering of freckles across her pale skin. Only the eyes were different, a subtle divergence that nevertheless captured his attention — dark, less crinkled in the corners, yet still full of warmth. If you already got tagged sorry I guess, idk I just work here: @wordspinning @two-birds-alone-together @bumblepony @hypnotisedfireflies @mote-of-star-dust @ameerawrites @becomethesun @probssomethingorother
I can not wait for the next chapter of As Long As You Follow!!! I keep wanting to ask if you plan out your fanfics ahead of time because they have so much happening in them? Do you plot things out chapter by chapter?
Hi, anon. Thanks! I'm pretty loosey goosey about storyboarding, and I should probably be...better, about that, because then maybe my fics wouldn't be so bloated. I always know general points I want to hit, and how I want to pace things, but I don't often plot it out chapter-by-chapter. (I mean, clearly; ALaYF was supposed to be ten chapters, and it'll end up being seventeen when all is said and done.) I do track things as I go, however. I keep notes of dates and my fics' general timelines so I can reference them later, and not contradict myself, which has been very helpful.
I would 100% play 30 hours of this game.
Enjoying TLoU Part II

You know, that game where a daughter and her lame dad hang out and ride horses in the woods and nothing bad ever happens to them? 🥲
People are so cruel about Bella's appearance, and for what reason? Because they look like...a normal human being?
Ngl, I see how transparent so many people are when they complain about HBO Ellie - they hide behind weak little statements like "well, she just had more of a shitty attitude than the game" (she was more believable as a child raised without any semblance of love and care by a fascist government than she was in the game, you mean?) but really it usually comes down to Bella's looks, and I'm sick of it.
I have played the games (recently, admittedly, though I'd seen walkthroughs and was aware of the game and characters before the show just because I spend time in Internet video game communities) and Ellie in the first game is not a very believable character, for the most part. She existed as a reason to burden and eventually soften Joel, and I never felt like I really got a sense of her as a person until it came time to play her in the David scenes (though they did a great job with Left Behind, and I very much enjoyed playing her then).
Bella brought so much emotion and rage and humor and nuance to Ellie, and though when I write my versions of her I tend to mix aspects of both of them, I'm so thankful for what Bella has been able to bring to the character, and consider the HBO version of Ellie to be the superior one. You don't have to agree with that, it's a very subjective opinion, but it's how I feel about it. Does Bella look like Ellie? Not particularly. Do they kill it in the role? Absolutely. That should be enough, honestly.
But then I hop on Tumblr and see posts like the one above, and it just makes me frustrated that people can be so casually cruel about the appearance of another human being. This isn't middle school, let's grow up a little.

is that our “Ellie”?
Okay, I did not expect this, lmao. Who did this??!

(it's so mean, but I laughed... I'm going to hell)
