Love some completely accidental foreshadowing! When Tain asks Garak to join him in the German dub of Improbable Cause, him asking Garak to “come back into the fold” is translated as “zurück im Schoß der Familie“ which literally means “back in the lap of your family”. It’s definitely not purposeful foreshadowing about Tain being Garak’s dad, especially since that’s an actual German idiom that fits the scene, but it’s still one of my favorite details of the German dub of ds9
That reluctant alliance/friendship developing between Garak and Kira, and that deep platonic love Ezri and Worf share are becoming my absolute favourite things about DS9.
