I Have A Crazy Idea, How Show-Lestat Could Have Spent His Additional Human Years He Lived Through, And
I have a crazy idea, how show-Lestat could have spent his additional human years he lived through, and the century he spent before meeting show-Louis. Is this a theory? Is this a fanfiction idea? Idk. It's a really long post. Did I mention the idea is crazy? And some details not completed? Okay, so we know there's a long gap between 20-year old book Lestat leaving for Paris and then getting turned into a vampire shortly after, and show Lestat being 34 when he was turned. In my idea, the first bit is just him taking a few years longer to leave for Paris (including Gabrielle not being as sick at that point), let's say he stayed in the village, managed somehow to avoid getting married. Maybe he got a job as a hunter because of the whole wolf killer thing. But he's unhappy. Really unhappy. Nicki left years ago, *insert reason here*, for Paris, alone.
At 26 (1786), Lestat finally gathers the courage to leave too - but arriving in Paris, and alone, he begins to miss Nicki. And avoids the theatre at first, because it reminds him of Nicki's music. He is a bit depressive, gets another job. revisits the topic of religion - not as, him becoming a believer, but he does ask himself questions about the existence of god. Two years later (1788), he finally gathers the courage to look for a job at the theatre, and gets it, like in the book. And who is there, playing in the orchestra? Nicki! BAAAAM, reunion happens, old lovers to friends to lovers trope. His life is great, for about 6 months. Lestat gets on stage. It's now May of 1789, Lestat is 28 years old. Oh, what's that around the corner? BAM, the French Revolution hits. Nicki convinces Lestat to quit the theatre, to help Lestat's family escape and not get killed. Maybe they go to Italy. 3 years later (1792), they return to France, thinking the worst is over - only to be ambushed, his father and brothers getting killed while he manages to escape with Gabrielle and Nicki. They hide for a year, Lestat is scarred, having witnessed a lot of death around him. The topic of religion comes up again, and he gets weird visions about god and the devil, foreshadowing Memnoch the Devil. In 1793 they move back to paris, Gabrielle now getting sicker, where Lestat, under another name, gets back on stage because hey, let's just forget the past and focus on a great future! His career flourishes, a year goes by and Lestat really works a lot and upps his acting game, partially as a distraction from his mother slowly dying and dealing with the trauma he experienced. In 1794, he gets into a fight defending someone (no idea), similar to the wolf killer thing, and this is not a nice fight. He gets so viscious, and maims his opponents - this is what gets Magnus's attention. Same things like in the book happen then, the abduction from their bedroom, etc. Only, that Lestat doesn't stay away for so long, and returns to Nicki and Gabrielle faster, also acting again despite being a vampire - this would fall in line with Armand's recount of how they met in Paris, if Armand was telling the truth. Lestat turns Gabrielle, the whole Nicki-abducting thing occurs. Gabrielle has already left the city alone, when Lestat steps foot into the coven to get nicki back alone (as portrayed by Armand in the show, again: if he was telling the truth. Maybe Armand was - and the one with the tattoo in the Season 3 teaser wasn't just a "iwtv turns into pop culture with fandom fights"-thing). He turns Nicki to "save him", things turn out badly. Then the Lesmand short lived romance happens because Lestat wants to get more powerful, wanting Armand to teach him. And he doesn't want to be alone, without Gabrielle. Establishing of the vampire theatre occurs. And after that Lestat leaves Paris to go after Gabrielle, leaving Armand behind. More than a century goes by - which he spends travelling with Gabrielle, hybernating for longer, then meeting Marius, after that hibernating again for a bit, before he finally wakes up and decides he wants a break from all those other european vampires. America, watch out, Lestat comes. Okay, so: why did he go to New Orleans, when his father was already dead? In the show he said he wanted to go to St. Louis originally - maybe he heard that St. Louis had been the center point for catholicism in the mid-west in the 18th century. And despite being a vampire and maybe agnostic by then, because in all those years before he had, different from book canon, he had already revisited the idea of religion. He's curious. Wants to know more because why not. Wants to find out if catholicism is still a thing there. Then he stops in New Orleans and gets to know Louis. ... that's it. This isn't what I think will happen in season 3, it's just a thought experiment, from the brain of someone glued to this hyperfixation really hard.

Vamptember Day 25: Garden
Our favourite chaos crew takes a short vacation - to inspect a house on the countryside they might just be interested in buying. Its garden, or more like 8 acres of land, holds many things to discover - and Louis thinks, that the same is true for their relationship.
Rating: The chapter itself probably "Teen and Up". The whole work "Mature".
Short excerpt under the cut!
Short excerpt: [...]
They walked further away from the house – discovering a variety of trees, their crowns loomed over them, their branches appeared newly trimmed without affecting the trees’ majestic beauty or compromising their age. Four apple trees stood close together, some branches and twigs touching. But each had its own stem, and would in the fall carry its own fruit. Maybe they could tie hammocks there, creating a space to relax outside.
It was Daniel, who discovered patches of newly planted flowers – all kinds of colours mixed, their youth and different aesthetics not disturbing the established nature around them. Instead, they brought a certain contrast, a new perspective into the garden.
They passed some small greenhouses, that with a bit of effort could give space to experiment with more exotic plants, spicing things up a bit. When they reached a small pond with lilies floating on top, Louis could feel Lestat’s excitement, as a toad leapt from one lily to another, ripples spreading across the pond. A lot of animals seemed to exist in this space. Some passing through, some having found their home here.
They also came upon a long-forgotten corner, where thorny bushes and sprawling weeds claimed the ground, in which more beautiful plants could be seeded or structures could be built.
The area was too vast to explore fully – with deserved detail - that night, when the house still awaited its initial inspection. As they wandered back toward said building, a thought struck Louis: This garden was more than just land, it was a reflection of their relationship. Like a mental image realised, an abstract made tangible. The nature here wasn’t static, but it had a shape and a foundation to it, that nothing could shake. Just like their companionship was now rooted in love and resilience, ever-growing and starting to bloom with the work they had fertilised it with. If vampiric existence was the Savage Garden, then this, where he stood, could be their sanctuary. And suddenly he knew: He wanted to have this, to stay, to see how things would develop here.

one of my favorite iwtv concepts is a louis/lestat/armand polycule. it wouldn't fix things. it would probably make them a thousand times worse. however, i think they should give it a try anyway because it would be SO funny.
lestat is fine with the fact that armand and louis are fucking but if he's not part of it? the house is getting burned down. armand forgets to do the dishes? they want to hunt at different times? louis is a coffin hog? the other two are cuddling closer with each other than with him? he's pulling out the THIS IS NOT A LIFE immediately. giant tantrum every night like "I CANT DO THIS ANYMORE YOU TWO DONT LOVE ME ANYMORE YOURE GONNA RUN OFF TOGETHER AND LEAVE ME BEHIND I KNOW IT" and he'd go sleep on the vampire equivalent of the couch idk and then come back to the fuckass big coffin later like heyyyy :((( cant sleep. sorry about the yelling. can i be middle spoon now?
armand is going to not say no to anything ever. is he down for that? doesn't matter. he will do it. he'll be going on and on about how damn healthy they are now that they've resolved their love triangle to a healthy flourishing throuple. if he never mentions any problems whatsoever he can create a romanticized version of them in his head where they all love each other equally and no one is ever jealous. doesn't matter what he wants, he's going to get a good grade in polycule which is both normal to want and possible to achieve.
louis is the one who suggested it in the first place and was like pls pls pls pls pls can you guys get along for me pls pls pls but now he spends all his time withdrawing and pondering if he's made a mistake, leaving armand and lestat alone together because he's off eating cats and shit and not actually participating in the relationship, then getting mad at them for having an affair with each other to spite and manipulate him (they are also together louis. louis this is a crucial part of a throuple. louis.)
we don't get the detailed, linear progression of how the devil's minion exactly went and one has to wonder about all the little instances when it stopped being a chase. there's the definitive moment of their dynamic shift (the call to paris!) but what about the day when daniel doesn't feel like getting on the next flight right away after armand found him and armand just asks him why he's not running... and maybe daniel would just say "whatever. tomorrow. i'm tired" and armand would go "okay fine then *i* am buying the tickets. ((and we're going together))"... or armand not "catching up" to daniel for a couple of days and daniel finding himself impatient for the first time, much like we see in the opening of the chapter, but because it has not happened before, he's just confused about his own reaction... no way he's actually waiting for that immortal freak to appear again. and yet <3
Nemo - Armand x Daniel
I don't have other hobbies right now it seems. And creating this, I noticed how much of Devil's Minion is actually in the show, in the subtle/micro-expressions and gazes etc. One-sided at least x) (I want to see Daniel fall in love and start this wonderful and toxic relationship so bad. Or remember the 70s/80s DM era if they go there.) There are also Loumand and Lesmand in this, but the end goal is DM. Also, I think Armand would listen to this song. Watch on YT here :)
