bro how did I make a callout post list simply because I made content of gator tillman like twice and was talking about how I think he's a deeply flawed but interesting character

some people are the most chronically online individuals fr because on god, legitamately, I will say it : you can enjoy a character and recognize they're shitty, like jesus christ I am not looking at gator tillman through the lens that he's a pretty perfect princess he's a victim of emotional and implied physical abuse, grew up with an abusive, horrible father, and had to witness dot and his own mom deal with that abuse, and yes, he is absolutely complicit and went along with roy's plan to get dot back but legitamately, roy was the only person he had left in his life and the people who entered that ( karen, karen's father ) did not have any better influence on him either

I am absolutely happy this man is in prison, and that he can actually attone in his actions but you cannot view him just through the lens that he's solely a bad person like as if there weren't multiple stepping stones and examples of why he's like that on god, even speaking as someone who's a victim of abuse / emotional abuse, people like that aren't perfect, he is a HIGH definition of an example on what can happen if you don't have a support system, let alone leave an abusive household, and hell, I know people like him because I live with them EVERYDAY. so it's like, legitamately irritating that some people really can't get that liking a person and defending who they are, like are two wholeee different things, entirely separate. there is a literal ass example of how and why gator is so shit, but that doesn't make me any less invested in his character in the same way I'm invested in dot, indira, lorraine, munch, graves, and witt like. damn people piss me the fuck off.

I had made this wanting to post to tiktok but ig since tiktok hates fun you all fargo likers get it here, this is more or less just because I was listening to hoosier songs while art streaming and then this song specifically stuck out to me as a gator tillman song and its like, this man is an absolute piece of shit but his nature of wanting to be exactly like his dad and like seeing how far it's gone to where gator's idealization of his father slowly deteriorates the more he realizes he is not family to his dad, he's just a tool and that in the first place, he was idealizing a man who hurt so many fucking people to a horrible extent and is a horrible person

and ironically you can see how he turned out like that because the moment linda and dot / nadine left his life when he was just 15 years old, like ofc, he would turn to the only role model he had left, if you can even call roy anything of a model because of how much he's a patriarchal piece of fucking shit

and I just find it fascinating because it's like he could do good, but it's likely it would be too late before he ever did good
