I had made this wanting to post to tiktok but ig since tiktok hates fun you all fargo likers get it here, this is more or less just because I was listening to hoosier songs while art streaming and then this song specifically stuck out to me as a gator tillman song and its like, this man is an absolute piece of shit but his nature of wanting to be exactly like his dad and like seeing how far it's gone to where gator's idealization of his father slowly deteriorates the more he realizes he is not family to his dad, he's just a tool and that in the first place, he was idealizing a man who hurt so many fucking people to a horrible extent and is a horrible person
and ironically you can see how he turned out like that because the moment linda and dot / nadine left his life when he was just 15 years old, like ofc, he would turn to the only role model he had left, if you can even call roy anything of a model because of how much he's a patriarchal piece of fucking shit
and I just find it fascinating because it's like he could do good, but it's likely it would be too late before he ever did good

bro how did I make a callout post list simply because I made content of gator tillman like twice and was talking about how I think he's a deeply flawed but interesting character
some people are the most chronically online individuals fr because on god, legitamately, I will say it : you can enjoy a character and recognize they're shitty, like jesus christ I am not looking at gator tillman through the lens that he's a pretty perfect princess he's a victim of emotional and implied physical abuse, grew up with an abusive, horrible father, and had to witness dot and his own mom deal with that abuse, and yes, he is absolutely complicit and went along with roy's plan to get dot back but legitamately, roy was the only person he had left in his life and the people who entered that ( karen, karen's father ) did not have any better influence on him either
I am absolutely happy this man is in prison, and that he can actually attone in his actions but you cannot view him just through the lens that he's solely a bad person like as if there weren't multiple stepping stones and examples of why he's like that on god, even speaking as someone who's a victim of abuse / emotional abuse, people like that aren't perfect, he is a HIGH definition of an example on what can happen if you don't have a support system, let alone leave an abusive household, and hell, I know people like him because I live with them EVERYDAY. so it's like, legitamately irritating that some people really can't get that liking a person and defending who they are, like are two wholeee different things, entirely separate. there is a literal ass example of how and why gator is so shit, but that doesn't make me any less invested in his character in the same way I'm invested in dot, indira, lorraine, munch, graves, and witt like. damn people piss me the fuck off.
THE DOMESTICATION OF OLE MUNCH IS SO FUNNY TO ME BC MAN REALLY WENT IN HERE LOOKING FOR A FIGHT BUT DOT SHOT HIM DOWN AT EVERY TURN .. I like to think maybe the way the debt is repaid in the simple fact he begins to live with them now as a sort of estranged uncle or so, simply because the debt would be paid in being like the protector he was for Irma rather than trying to insist it needs to be fulfilled
also his name being pronounced as oola moonk is funky to me
also if people got any art requests in terms of characters from the show who I should draw, specifically season 5 of fargo, gimmie them I got plans still to do a few charas but m'up for anything

LOWKEY KIND OF MY FAVORITE DOODLE FOR FARGO SO FAR .. I haven't drawn him before so forgive me if it's not very good but I am really happy w/ the doodle !! ole munch always made me think of barn owls, ngl
mini little edit of dorothy lyon / nadine bump because I wish she was real ... + also wrecking ball very much fits her lowkey and earnestly I just think her story is the most empowering of all I have gotten to see especially of a main leading lady who legitimately gets to take down her abuser in a satisfying fashion and it provides me a lot of comfort given you definitely don't get to see that often, just in media in general, and it's like, I love juno temple so muchand especially seeing the transition from keeley jones to dot lyon is so massive and so effective and cool like
honestly I wanna' doodle her more because I weirdly can draw her and it's just, she, indira, and lorraine really are so interesting in how they're written and the differences each of them is SO varied but beautifully done like

I think the saddest part abt shit is like, in general I wish is more people interested in this season, because it would definitely help in alarger discussion about certain characters who I think are due a conversation about but y'know I will hold up the mantle of being the number one wayne lyon enjoyer if no one else will make content abt him, I will

the brainrot hit me like a truck and I do not care if these two and my ideas for them don't work I jus' wanna' .. I just want to release these oc ideas into the world so anyways hands you fargo ocs !! I have a few bullet point ideas to run by so I'll go over each theodore crow ( he / him ) - 28 years old - I like to think he sort of embodies the scarecrow from the wizard of oz, hence the last name and whatnot & is a babysitter for scotty / the neighbor who had to look after her for a time when stuff was goin' on with dot - he and marilyn are close in a sense, sort of sibling-like but it's moreso maternal on marilyn's end - owner of a myraid of cardigans, plaids, and absolutely do not ask him to cut his hair, he will run away from a barber within an inch of his life - idk any minnesota voice actors so his voiceclaim is hosea matthews from red dead redemption 2 bc I said so - I think him and wayne are besties, jus' someone to talk to when wayne's havin' rough times marilyn whiskers ( she / her ) - 35 years old - inspo is absolutely klaasje amandou from disco elsium and mary from silent hill 2 and so much so to the point mary's voice actor from silent hill 2 is who I imagine her voice to sound like - kind of like glinda the good witch of the south in how she is even though she's a very dubious person but, she tries to be good, emphasis on tries - partially works at the tender trap, but she doesn't exactly talk about it, and is actively studying for a degree as a nurse - marilyn does come from a very good family, and always sort of lived around theodore even if she was constantly everywhere and never liked sticking around, always makes checks out to him as a means to help out and provide - spite of having a family with a bit of money to their name, she doesn't keep contact much, considers theodore as her only family given her lifestyle wasn't one very much favored, therefore, she keeps a distance - likely talks to dot a whole lot, and always does so whenever she's in town to see theodore idk that's pretty much it but they rot my brain a lil' bit, I'll share colors and more doodles later
