for the love of god please listen to old users when we say this site works differently. that you can’t just sit around with a blank blog. make posts or reblog, but do something at least. this site works because we don’t have an unavoidable garbage algorithm forcefeeding us posts based on our likes. we do not need another fucking twitter, tiktok or instagram.

Bubba Sawyer

It was your job to do the dishes after dinner each night and it was always the last task before you could settle down. As you put the last dish in its spot within the cupboard, thundering footsteps sounded behind you. A smile crossed your lips as you turned around, Bubba immediately in front of you as he looked down at you expectantly, almost bouncing on his heels as he waited for your okay to go upstairs. How could you deny him when he was so excited? “Alright Bubs, let’s go,” you smiled, a breathy laugh escaping your lips as he squealed, grabbing your hand in his to pull you behind him. He pulled you up the stairs, though still mindful to be gentle after more than a few previous shoulder sprains from his excitement. Once you were both in the sanctuary of your shared bedroom, you could already feel some of the tension in your shoulders relax.

“What do you want to do before bed?” you asked as the door closed behind you, the chaotic sounds of the rest of the house finally smothered by the wooden barrier. Bubba looked around curiously for a moment before pulling out an old record, one of his favourites since you had come along. It was full of slower songs, melodic instrumentals and drawn-out vocals, sung softly by a woman with a voice that reminded you of a mother-figure. Bubba loved to cuddle after a long day with this record. You smiled warmly as you nodded, pulling out your pyjamas as Bubba put the record in the old player you’d relocated after not enough use in the living room. You both got dressed just as the first song started to play, Bubba immediately wrapping his arms around your waist from behind before he pulled you off the ground and into his chest. You burst out in laughter, your own hands sliding over his large forearms, his little scars and bracelet sliding past your fingers as you held on. He crashed into the bed, hauling you on top of him as you both giggled in tune with each other.

You rolled over, pressing your chest into Bubba’s ample torso, your legs just barely straddling either side of his hips as you laid atop him. His arms remained wrapped around your midsection, caging you against him tightly as if you’d disappear any minute. You grinned at him, seeing his own beautiful smile behind his mask before laying your head against his chest, arms curling around him to return the embrace completely. Bubba was always warm and tonight was no exception, but you didn’t mind. Even with the heat outside, there was something about Bubba’s warmth that was inherently comforting as his skin pressed against yours, bodies together until you weren’t sure where you ended and he began. These moments are always the sweetest. You listened as Bubba’s heartbeat slowed, his grip on you loosening ever so slightly to allow his hand to trail up and down your side as he calmed himself for the night. His excitable energy was quieting into a loveable, tired rest. The music hummed in the background as you held each other, each song melding into the next as the notes became less and less distinct to your ears, Bubba’s heartbeat only growing clearer against everything else. As you lay listening to his heart, you wonder who is going to fall asleep first. There could be no better question on your mind.

More and more recently, I’ve begun to get some people coming to me asking for some clarification on LGBTQ stuff. When I was younger, I had to discover many basic identities and labels by myself, through research of various sources, or pieced together from disconnected blog posts. 

In the year 2019 you’d think we’d have a kid-friendly website that describes all of this in simple terms but… I’ve yet to find one that isn’t primed for guardians/parents of LGBTQ parnets and prioratizes them instead of the LGBTQ kids themselves…. 

So I tried to make a quick graphic to organize everything!

Keep in mind - this is based on MY experience and the terminology I have grown up using. Everyone’s experiences may differ - and I tried to simplify in some places to make it easier to read. (For example… I didn’t really go into detail on non-binary identities… but I may make a seperate graphic for that someday because that’s its own box of pears.)

costume reference hunt : Engineer Mark !

below the cut, you will find an assortment of references as well as an analysis of what I could find for Markiplier's Head Engineer outfit from In Space with Markiplier !

yes I'm doing this because I'm back into Markiplier and I want to make this cosplay why do you ask

let's get to it !

thankfully, the base itself isn't that difficult. it's just a tan one - piece jumpsuit with pockets ( one on each side of the chest, one on each upper arm, and two on each leg ) and white zippers. a pretty typical pattern for a jumpsuit ( there's an almost perfect one sold by simplicity patterns here, which can also be found on amazon & the like ) . it's hard to get a clear view of his boots, but i'm fairly sure they're just black work boots. he wears a while shirt under it all ( you can see in the bts video that it doesn't really have sleeves ) .

we can also see the belt, which is a black belt with a silver buckle ( with a funky little circular design on the front ) that seems to clip at an angle. there are also little cases / pods ( four on each side in a square pattern ) strapped to the belt on each hip.

with some better close - ups to the upper portion of his jumpsuit, we can see the patches as well as his pins. for some reason, some of the shots have mark with his orange patch on his lower right hand torso as well as his shoulder, but sometimes the torso one isn't there. i have no idea if that's an error or intentional, but. it's a thing. and it happens.

anyways ! he has a little blue pin on his collar ( which i'm having trouble figuring out what it's meant to be; i think it's a cube of some sort but i have no idea ) , as well as a little space Chica pin!

he has a patch on the left - hand side of his torso that's just a white rectangle with a black outline that reads M2702 in black ( which is his number ) .

we can also see his lil hat ! he only wears it for the very beginning of the loop, but it's still silly ( affectionate ) . he has an invincible ii pin on it that seems to match the pattern on his left - arm invincible ii patch. otherwise it's just an orange beret with a black bias along the bottom.

here are some better views of the patches !! funnily enough, the best view of the invincible ii patch was on mack's uniform lmao

the blue one ( left arm ) is the generic invincible ii patch that all of the crewmates have, while the yellow and orange one ( right arm ) is i think only for mark ( it's probably meant to be specifically for the head engineer ) . it has the same M2702 that his chest patch has.

and then there's the gauntlet ! ( mack istg why do you keep having the better views of everything )

it has a white upper part with silver detail on top, and the bottom half ( presumably made of fabric; to keep it in place ) is black. he wears gloves ( not sure if they're attatched to the gauntlets ) , though Mark's are partially fingerless ( pointer, middle, and thumb aren't gloved ) .

the opposite hand has a funky little holder for mark's lil phone - size device. it honestly looks like one of those phone cases where it has a front flap that holds back; or, just. one of those phone cases you use to keep your phone propped up in your car. tbh this could be a modified phone holder made for running. either or any way, has a case that's strapped to a gauntlet that goes around his wrist, atop his glove. you can get a sort of better view of it in the other images on this post, too.

aside from that, he just has his bangs swept to the side ( though they could be a lot messier if you're going for a look later in the loop ) .

engineer mark stands out so much more than heist mark or date mark because while the others purely exist to lead the viewer through scenes and give them choices, engineer mark is making his own choices and going through an entire character arc even when the viewer isn't there. the other marks are part of the game, engineer mark is playing it.
