My Mom Just Had A 7cm Brain Tumor Removed And Since She's Woken Up She's Been Talking Nonstop About This
my mom just had a 7cm brain tumor removed and since she's woken up she's been talking nonstop about this dream she had about going to an art gallery full of colourful paintings by a 'homosexual artist' named klimsdorf who was ethereal and wise, both young and old... at first she was convinced he was a real person but after failing to find him online she's accepted he was a figment of her subconscious mind and is now determined to bring him to life via painting his portrait herself. she's 67 and has never drawn in her life. and now this. blorbo from her tumor

Hey there hehehe..
Do you perchance have a discord account? :3
Yes, I’ll sent it to you personally on Twitterrrr :3

I did some art studies using @nopanamaman’s work. First one was Katya, but I started getting fatigued from drawing the same character over and over — you can tell from Attempt No. 2 somehow looking worse than Attempt No. 1. Pretty good start, but all the proportions are wrong.
The eyes are too big; the face is rounded; the lines are too solid; mouth is too low; etc. I got really close though with that first attempt of Katya is bird’s eye view though…

Fusion of Sergei and Katya. Had my friends help me by playing spot-the-difference with Attempt No. 1 then applied whatever they noticed to Attempt No. 2 (ex. how the mouth should be aligned to the jaw, and how I accidentally flattened her hair). I had alot of fun with the hair — you can’t see it well because I coloured the hair — I finally figured out how to do those open loose lines that Ferry loves so much when she’s not animating.
I just realised I made the side ponytail abit too short… Oh well!

Fusion of Sergei and Yura, had to do a boy now. I have a habit of making the faces too short… — You will see this again later on… Really tempted to give him a nose, but I forgot how to draw a nose at this angle. Really loved doing the hatching for his sweater, the tones are so cool to look at… Actually all of the black hatching is fun! — in my previous one I added shadows to the bun and seperations of the hair that weren’t in the original drawing.
I will say… The broken lines aren’t super visible on paper, whoops.

Final round, had to do the ratboy, Yura Beletsky. I wish I did this on digital now because this would’ve been a good colour study, but I just wanted to draw his face. My friend was the one who picked this picture actually. Flat hair and short face make a come back here, lol. Really happy with how I articulated the bangs and shirt’s shadows.
The urge to write a suicidal Joe monologue where he goes full doomer mode and starts talking about how the world is a “joke.” But not in the vague and neive way like, “Oh, the world is corrupt an good people are actually bad people,” it’s moreso in the jaded adult way like, “The country is rich but the people are made to be poor becuase our congress is a puppet to the West and the people are slaves forced to pay the debt that they gave us.”
I really seriously enjoy the idea that Joe is actually really intelligent. He just doesn’t bother showing it or rather he doesn’t know how to show it. So alot of people assume he’s stupid, and because that’s what he hears from others, he eventually believes that he is stupid. A stupid joke.
