I had a blast working with @simplyrockie to create these infographics for her Legacy Chronicles Challenge! She wanted each one to look like pages in a diary or journal, which I had a lot of fun with.

The Feline Legacy Challenge

This is my long-awaited legacy challenge based on certain cat breeds. I had a lot of fun writing this challenge and play-testing it. It is for those of you who enjoy storytelling and want a new let's play to do for YouTube.

The Feline Legacy Challenge is a nine-generation challenge (because cats have nine lives) and focuses on specific cat breeds I personally adore in real life and in the game. This legacy challenge is story based, and you may adjust some requirements if you do not have the packs. Unless specifically stated otherwise, do not change the traits, skills, and aspirations.

General Rules and Required Packs

Each sim must own the cat breed that they represent for each generation. Generation One must have an American Longhair as a pet, etc.

You may use money cheats, I will not lie I used them during play testing and there is a 50/50 chance I will use them if I do a let's play. Do not use them excessively but can use them when moving each Generation into their own homes and as gifts occasionally from parents if it fits the storyline I or you create.

There are no set colors for these generations but feel free to use the colors that I chose for the images of each generation. I encourage you to make your own colors for this legacy as I think it is fun to be able to choose.

High School Years are not required, but it is recommended especially for later generations and the first one.

You may adjust some requirements for each generation if you do not have the packs or just do not enjoy the gameplay that is required. As long as it still fits the main storyline I created or is closely related to it, I do not care about what is changed.

The required Expansions and Game Packs are below, and the only stuff pack required is Nifty Knitting

You must complete all skills, aspirations, and careers for each generation unless otherwise stated in the requirements section. If

If the heir of generation dies before you complete the requirements you fail the challenge, unless, the heir already was married and had at least one child. Then you may move onto the next generation or start over the challenge again.

Unless otherwise stated you can marry your sims but be careful to view the rules before doing so.

Gen One: American Longhair

You have always been a child (at heart) and enjoy playing when you have free time. However, you also have a lazy side and nobody can get you to move from the couch after work. You are a smart person and are set to graduate earlier than your twin sibling who spends more time traveling than attending school. You found a cat that was sick one day and took it to the local vet and fell in love with them immediately. Your sibling is allergic to cats, so you have never been able to keep them in your home. Your parent agreed to let you keep them if they stayed in your bedroom and your bedroom only. The cat seems to be your only friend. In high school, you stayed alone because everyone thought you were a nerd and loser compared to your sibling. Once you graduated early, you and your cat moved to a small home near the water. You never revealed to anyone that your favorite pastime is fishing and that living by the water has always been your dream. You are a genius and go to Foxbury University with a distinguished degree in Computer Science. After graduating, you go into Engineering and meet your future partner at your job. You knew you always wanted to have at least three children and needed to meet someone who loves children and loves family.

Requirements:

Graduate early (skip if you do not have High School Years)

Find and adopt a sick cat and make them better

Go to Foxbury with a Distinguished Degree

Go into Engineering and meet your partner there (must have family orientated trait)

Complete the Engineering Career

Have at least two children

Skills, Aspiration, and Traits

Aspiration: Master Angler

Skills: get level ten in Fishing, Programming, and  Robotics

Traits: Genius, Childish, Lazy

Gen Two: Bengal

You were always the adventurous type growing up as a kid and teen. You loved traveling to Mt.Komorebi with some friends during high school and spent most of your time snowboarding and skiing. You are a very active person and love to go on morning jogs before going to work at the hospital as a doctor. Your parents never thought you would make it through University since you spent more time playing basketball or in Mt. Komorebi with your friends. You pushed through and graduated from University with a degree in Biology. As much as you love having your family around, you never dreamed of having a large family. You want to settle down and would love to call Komorebi your home. Living there will give you the best chance at climbing to the top of Mt. Komorebi with your friends or your partner. After climbing that mountain, you settle down and have two kids of your own, who happen to be extremely close in age.

Requirements:

Go to Mt. Komorebi at least three times with friends as a teen

Graduate University with a degree in Biology

Get a job as a Doctor

Jog every morning or every other morning before work

Move from your childhood home or current residence to Komorebi

Settle down with someone you meet on your adventures, at work, or with a friend

Have only two kids that are close in age

Skills, Aspiration, and Traits:

Skills: master skiing or snowboarding, mountain climbing, and fitness

Aspiration: Mt. Komorebi Sightseer

Traits - Cheerful, Active, and Adventurous

Gen Three: Oriental Longhair

You have always been a people person growing up, and your parents never knew where you got it from. Sure, one of your parents was always sociable and played a lot of sports, and the other barely shared those same qualities. You grew up in Mt. Komorebi but want to see the rest of the world. You want to live in a close-knit community, so you settle down in Willow Creek. Before moving to Willow Creek, you move to the big city of San Myshuno where you find comedy as your calling. Going to University was never on your radar and while your parents expressed their distaste for you not going, they supported your decision. The family was never your main focus in life, yes you love yours dearly, but you never really wanted to start one of your own. You have never understood romance but liked to have fun here and there. The city is full of nightclubs means you could go partying on Fridays and hoke up with some people. During one of these hookups, you get pregnant and wake up. No more drinking and no more hooking up with strangers. Instead of having one baby, you end up having twins both of which you love but barely spend time with because you are too focused on your comedy career. You finish your job by the time that you are an adult and decide to move out of San Myshuno into Willow Creek. 

Requirements:

Live in San Myshuno until you’re an adult then move to Willow Creek and live there the rest of your life.

Finish the Comedy Career before you age up into an Adult

Go clubbing every Friday and hook up with at least three people and one of them gets you pregnant.

Have twins and barely spend time with them

Never get married but allow the other parent to see them (when they are children and above)

Complete all skills and aspiration

Skills, Aspiration, and Traits:

Gen Four: Burmese

You and your sibling were never close to the parent you primarily lived with, but you enjoyed spending your time with the other one. You moved in with them while you went to University and your other sibling decided to stay behind. Growing up you always loved being around people and had many friends compared to your twin sibling. You love people so much that you decided you want to teach them and go to the University of Britechester to pursue an education degree. You want to educate the generation of tomorrow and hold your future kids to almost unrealistic education standards. You marry shortly after you graduate from University to a person you meet in one of your classes at University. You have always wanted a close-knit family like your parents originally wanted, and have four kids of your own. You live in a townhome in Britechester after not wanting to leave the college town. You always let your children see their grandparents. You have one child who is a child prodigy in either acting, sports, or the arts, and you never let them do what their siblings get to do. You focus all of your attention on them, and it causes some strain and eventually ends in a divorce and your partner taking the other three kids with them. You make sure the one kid who stayed with you (most likely out of here of failing you because of your ridiculous standards) gets at the top of their class and graduates early. 

Requirements: 

Move in with your other parent as a teen

Go to the University of Britechester after graduating

Meet someone and date them until you both graduate and get married

Continue to live in Britechester for the rest of your life

Have four children and focus all of your time on one and make sure they are perfect

Your relationship ends in divorce and the three other kids move out with their other parent

Continue to focus on your one child until they graduate high school and go to college

Complete the Education Career

Gen Five: Havana Brown

You never had many friends growing up because you never had time for friendship. Your siblings started to resent you after your parent started to focus all of their time and attention on you and their job. Your parents got a divorce and your other parent and siblings moved out leaving you behind with the viper your parent is. You grew up resenting school but knew if your grades slip, your parent would punish you for it. You focused all of your time on escaping into the worlds of gaming and writing. When you were not doing your school work and your extracurriculars, you wrote or played video games to escape your almost hellish life. Once your graduated and got into University you quickly dropped out and moved far away from your parent in Windenburg. You attempt to make friends by visiting local cafés and spending most of your day writing books. One day you decide to call your older sibling and ask if they want to catch up since you finally escaped your parent's clutches. They agree, and you finally start to get close to them. They help you out by getting you a part-time job as their babysitter (join the babysitting career and pretend you are watching their children). You do that and continue writing books until you get a stable enough income. You eventually meet someone at the café shop and your love of writing and books pulls off. You both rush into marriage as adults and adopt two children sims since you waited too late to get pregnant. You do not hold them up to high standards and give them the life you wish you had. 

Requirements:

Go to University and stay in the housing and drop out after the first week

Move to Windenburg and move beside the cafe or in the neighborhood near it

Spend your days writing books and gaming to make money

Eventually, call up one of your siblings and mend your relationship with them

Start babysitting for them by joining the babysitting career

Continue going to the cafe on your days off and meet someone who is a book lover

Get married after the first date as an adult and adopt two children

Skills, Traits, and Aspiration:

Skills: writing, video gaming, and logic

Traits: Book Lover, Socially Awkward, and Loner

Aspiration: Bestselling-Author

Gen Six: Scottish Fold

You have always been mystified by the stories your adoptive parent made, so mystified indeed that you want to become one of the creatures your parent always writes about. You begin your research into one of these mystical creatures and how to turn into one of them. In your free time, you do a lot of knitting, painting, and crocheting. You are living the true granny lifestyle until you find a way to get the needed materials to turn into the creature you desire. Until then, you do decide to try to meet people in the parks or through old friends in school. You have never been the dating type but would love to have family and settle down with someone even if it just platonically. You find the needed materials to transform into your desired occult and go through the transformation or the trials to become one. Your partner is not the happiest in the world with you, but they support you nonetheless. You have one child, and you love them unconditionally even when they show more love to your parents and partner. 

Requirements:

Become an occult by the time you’re an adult (Alien, Werewolf, Spellcaster, Mermaid, and Vampire (maybe even a plant sim?)

Never have an actual job and only make money from your crafts until you’re an adult then get a part-time job

Meet someone through a friend or at the park

Have one kid and allow your parents to come over weekly

Have a semi-close relationship with them but never anything above your parent's relationship with them

Get married after you turn into an occult

Skills, Traits, and Aspiration

Skills: knitting, cross-stitching, and painting

Traits: one occult-related trait (basically you chose a trait that matches the occult you chose), art lover, and good

Aspiration: Any Aspiration Associated with the Occult you choose, if you chose Alien go with Lord/Lady of the Knits or Painter Extraordinaire

Gen Seven: Abyssinian

You are a mischievous person who has an obsession with all things evil and strange. You always pulled pranks growing up, especially during your teen years. You pranked teachers, other students, and even pranked toilets at any chance you got. (What did the toilets ever do to you? Catch on fire?) As a young adult, you decide to move to Strangerville and join the Criminal Career. You do not feel like you need to complete in the career because you plan on marrying the boss and using their money for your slightly lavish lifestyle. You have four kids and spoiled them greatly. At night, you decide to find the mother plant in Strangerville and defeat it thinking you will get money out of it. You are not very close to your kids but give them everything that they could ever wish for and later on start to rely on them for things because “I gave you all of this now it is my turn.” Which does ruin your relationship with them even further. 

Requirements:

Move to strangerville

Join the criminal career but do not finish it

Marry the highest ranking criminal (may age them down if they are an elder in the game or make your own)

At night when you are not working, focus all of your attention on the Mother Plant

Have three kids shortly after marrying

Spoil them but never have a close relationship

As an adult rely on your kids for money and food (you may move them into the household with who you chose to take over or let them come over anytime they call)

Skills, Traits, and Aspirations:

Skills mischief, handiness, and fitness

Traits: Erratic, Kleptomaniac, and Snob

Aspiration: Strangerville Mystery and for added fun, you may also complete Master of Mischief or Public Enemy

Gen Eight: Sphynx

You were forgotten as the middle child by everyone in your family. Yes, your parents gave you everything you ever wanted but ignored you when you were not begging them for stuff or money. They never paid attention to your fascination with acting, never came to your plays and did not even know you graduated early. You go to University for a degree in Drama with the hopes of becoming a star and living your best life in Del Sol Valley, away from your family. However, that does not work well once your parent finds out you live their and forces you to let them live with you. You reluctantly agree but tell them they have to leave when you meet someone to live the rest of your life with. They agree to leave after you do, and they do not realize how difficult they are making your love life. Once you reveal that your parent lives with you, most of the people you meet decide to not have a second date. You eventually find love on one of the sets of what you are filming. You parent leaves once your love interest moves in with you and you never hear from her again. You decide to distance yourself and focus on your relationship and career. Quickly achieving a five-star (or four) level and moving into a mansion (you can cheat the money to buy the home, pretend it was a gift from the agency). You and your new partner decide to start a small family and have two kids. You attempt to show them the love your parents gave you without spoiling them.

Requirements:

Must be the middle kid

Move to Del Sol Valley to attend University (it is better if you do not live on campus tbh)

Get your degree and start in the acting career

Invite your parent to move in with you and let them stay

Find a partner at a film set

Get married to them and make your parent leave

Have two kids

Complete the Acting Career and at least become a 4-Star Celebrity

Skills, Traits, and Aspiration

Skills: acting, singing, and you can choose depending on what gigs you want to continue doing (you do not have to fully complete the one you choose but have to complete acting and singing)

Traits: Outgoing, Music Lover, and Self-Absorbed

Aspiration: World-Famous Celebrity (do not have to complete unless you are on a good track with celebrity levels)

Gen Nine: Siamese

You love a relaxed lifestyle and you learned to appreciate both yourself and the planet. After living in Del Sol Valley your entire childhood you are ready to move on. You decide to move to Evergreen Harbor and notice how much the area has been polluted. You make it your goal to heal your neighborhood from the pollution before you decide to start a family. You have on and off again relationships which led to you (or the person that you were with) getting pregnant. You spend a lot of time gardening, keeping bees and other bugs, living the simple life, and going off the grid. You believe you can make your family sustainable without having to rely on the town's power and water. You live your best life helping the planet, caring for your kid, and dumpster diving. You love crafting your own furniture and finding someone who also shares the same love. You believe marriage is a money making scheme and never get married and your partner accepts that. Most of the main furniture in your home is crafted by you or your partner. You make your own drinks and sell your stuff every Saturday in front of your home. You decide to have one more kid to give your oldest someone to hang out with because you notice they are having issues making friends. By the end of your adulthood (or young adult if you speed run) you make your neighborhood green again. 

Requirements:

Move to Evergreen Harbor

Do not join any careers and make your money selling crops, honey, and other resources (you may join the freelancer job)

Must have the Off the Grid and Simple Living Lot Challenges

Get pregnant or get someone else pregnant and raise them alone

Meet someone who also loves making things (must have Maker Trait)

Furnish your home with at least 15 Fabricated Items

Have one more child and never get married

Get your neighborhoods Eco-Footprint to green

Skills, Traits, and Aspiration

Skills: gardening, fabrication, and handiness

Sims 4 Sweet Life Legacy Challenge

Hi, this is the creator of this challenge! I am not a professional when it comes to making legacy challenges but I try my best! You can find multiple other ways of seeing my progress on doing my own legacies and other fellow simmers legacies as well. I have always been fond of doing legacy challenges, they give me more purpose to play sims in ways that I myself would not know how. Let’s be honest sims 4 can be very boring if you don’t have anything planned out, that’s why challenges make the game so much better - along with custom content -. If you decide to use my challenge I hope you have fun and enjoy this!

General Rules for this Challenge are pretty simple but I don’t want to make this challenge so easy that people can fly thru each gen like butter.

Generation 1 - Cinnamon

Your parents are and have always been big on their vegetable garden and being complete Vegans. They make money from selling their vegetables all around Henford-On-Bagley. It’s their home and they will not leave under no circumstances. You never told them how you are definitely not a vegan. You in fact have a very strong sweet tooth, especially for Cinnamon Rolls. This is your secret from them. Your dream is to get out of Henford-On-Bagley and start your own sweets bakery completely not Vegan.

Aspiration- Master Chef (this is a mod-friendly challenge if you want to use the custom bakery aspiration be my guest)

Career- You make all your simoleons from baking sweets and eventually own your own sweets bakery.

Skills- Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, & Baking

*Start as a child or teen*

*All Three Skills Have To Be Completed to Mastered*

*Must live in Henford-On-Bagley as a teen, but leave once Young Adult*

*Marry the first employee you hire when you open your bakery*

Generation 2 - Starberry Shortcake

Running a bakery with your parents is and has always been fun, free sweets every day. Sadly though when it comes to eating sweets every day you will most likely end up with bad health and bad teeth - aka cavities- not fun. You strive to make a better body for yourself, and more healthy lifestyle. It’s not easy and multiple steps up the stairs but you will make it. 

Aspiration- Bodybuilder

Career- Athlete *If you master this career before your sim dies you can download a dentist career to fit the storyline.*

Skills- Fitness, Wellness, Snowboarding, skiing, & *optional* rock climbing

*TRY to master fitness skill as a teen*

*Go to Mt. Komorebi every other weekend to master your snowboarding, skiing, & *optional* rock climbing skill*

*Join football or cheer for after school, not both*

*Marry an afterschool member*

*Move to Mt. Komorebi as a young adult*

*Have one or more child(ren) with first spouse*

*Have an affair with a native from Mt. Komorebi*

Generation 3 - Rice Crispy Treat

You have always watched your parent either come home from working looking sweaty, or them picking you up from school and the entire car smelling like sweat. It has and will always gross you out to no avail. It made you nauseous a lot when seeing both your parents sweaty from working out just casually being able to hug, kiss, or do anything with grime on them. This made you end up constantly cleaning the house, the car, EVERYTHING you can see that makes you see dirt. *sigh* Being a clean freak isn’t as easy when all you see is sticky.

Aspiration- Perfectly Pristine

Career- Influencer (you make money from your posts/videos of your positive clean lifestyle)

Skills- If there was a cleaning skill it would be that skill

*Must have the bust the dust kit enabled*

*Keep your house as perfectly clean as possible*

*Have as many kids as you would like the more the messier*

*Marry an opposites attract sim because obviously, opposites attract*

*Adopt a stray cat or dog to add to the messiness*

*Once aspiration is completed and being an elder die from over exhaustion from cleaning*

Generation 4 - Smores

Because of your parents’ clean freak illness, they put you in scouts. They kept you in scouts from childhood, teenhood till young adult. Lucky for you, you learned a lot being in scouts. How to make smores, make fires, and tie a rope for about anything. Being in the outdoors is the best! Learning more things about the outdoors is all you want in life. You want your firstborn to be born in the outdoors, you want to die in the outdoors. Outdoor life is all you can think about when you get home from scouts. You even asked your parent(s) if you could go camping but they always said no. Now is your chance to let your dreams come true as a young adult!

Aspiration- Outdoor Enthusiast

Career- You make money from your finds. *Bugs, fish, etc*

Skills- Herbalism, & Gardening

*If you have the mod to live in Granite falls you can use that, if not buy an empty lot and constantly vacation to granite falls to explore and make money.*

*Try to complete the frog collection if not collect at least 15 to 20 frogs it will show in your collections*

*Collect at least 10-15 insects in your collections*

*Collect all the granite falls exclusive fish (Golden Yellow, Yellow Perch, Red Crayfish, Blue Crayfish, Fish-far from the Mountains)*

*Befriend the Hermit of Granite falls*

*Raise all child(ren) in granite falls*

*Marry a sim in a bear costume*

Generation 5 - Banana Split

Camping has always been a huge thing for your family. Your parent could never get your grandparent to ever visit or join you. So you always had to travel the distance just to see extended family. It was always fun to watch what new buildings appeared and what new stores were made. Seeing cousins, family members and many more was never a hassle it was always a joy just to travel. Once you got your license to drive, no one was ever able to stop you from going off to travel somewhere.

Aspiration- Beach life & City Native *Optional* Jungle Explorer

Career- Critic *You are traveling a lot this is a perfect job for your sim*

Skills- Charisma, Logic, & Photography

*Once mastered either aspiration continue on to the next as long as one aspiration is finished you completed the generation*

*Make at least 12 friends, 12 good friends, and 1 best friend*

*Marry a native from either Sulani or San Myshuno*

*Have two children one born from Sulani and One born from San Myshuno*

*Always participate in the markets and festivals*

*Learn all the San Myshuno Food Stall Recipes*

*Collect all snowglobes*

Generation 6 - Brownie

Because of your very absent parent always traveling claiming it was for their job, they were not in your life that much. It was mostly you and your sibling. You had to learn to cook and clean, make sure that you and your sibling survive without the adult around. There was always money on the table, never had to struggle in that department yet you struggled to be happy. In school, you were bullied for your hair, and your clothes, and when sims found out that your parent was absent in your life the new nickname was now your name *housewife*. 

Aspiration- Super Parent

Career- Babysitter

Skills- Parenting

*Always save your money and only spend on needed stuff, aka bills, food, or furniture.*

*Never order out always cook meals for everyone in your household*

*Marry a sim that is already a parent (step-parent life)*

*Have 2 children with your spouse*

*Have a no-contact relationship or negative relationship with a neglectful parent*

*Adopt one child when elder*

Generation 7 - Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies are the best snack ever in your sim opinion. Your sim parent would always make it for movie nights, after-school snacks even sleepovers! Yet the older they got the more sad you got that those Chocolate Chip Cookies will never be made by them ever again. Then it dawned on you, a lot of things are never gonna be seen or made again. You want to keep all that knowledge, keep everything you know and not let it go away. This got you into collecting things specifically shiny things.

Aspiration- The Curator

Career- Science

Skills- Rocket Science

*Collect all the crystals*

*Build a rocketship and go to Sixam*

*Meet and Marry an alien from Sixam*

*Have one alien child*

*Maintain a relationship with the parent making sure the child has one with them as well*

*Have a tiny garden with only Fang Flower, Glow Orb, & Quill Fruit*

Generation 8 - Cheesecake

Being different has never been harder. Your skin may look and feel like a sim but you don’t sound like one, you don’t feel like one, and you definitely don’t act like one. Your sim parent always tried to make you feel included in the sim world teaching you everything about sims, but your alien parent was always making it known where your origin is from. Two different worlds yet it feels so hard to understand either. Getting away from it all and going somewhere new is probably what’s best to handle your anxiety. You go to a small town with not that many sims and it’s very unknown.

Aspiration- StrangerVille Mystery

Career- Military

Skills- Programming & Robotics

*Use your robotics skill to make your best friend a robot*

*When making your crew to defeat mother befriend all of them*

*Marry one crew member*

*Once the mother is defeated make a second robot so your robot can have a spouse*

Generation 9 - Red Velvet Cake

Romance *sigh* the most romantic thing to see is two sims falling in love and sharing their compassion for one another. You watched your parents love blossom all the time, and you even witnessed the robot family members have a loving relationship blossom! You crave that feeling one day. The warm gushy mushy feeling in your gut. Your heart pounding just being near the one you love. Watching romance movies and having celebrity crushes will never fill the void in your heart you want real love, you want a real sim to share your feelings with. 

Aspiration- Soulmate or Serial Romantic

Career- Architecture 

Skills- Flower Arranging & Bowling

*Every date you go on has to be at a bowling alley*

Generation 10 - Doughnut

A dozen is most common when buying doughnuts right? Either six or twelve no in between unless it’s a full party. You love parties, you thrive for nights out and attending parties, and you love throwing secret parties your sim parent never knows about. It’s the best and most thrilling thing to do. Especially since you have a dozen siblings meaning the house parties you throw will be massive. You are always excited about your young adult life growing up because all you want to do is throw parties and go to clubs to party some more. 

Aspiration- Party Animal

Feline Legacy Challenge Graphics

Hello! I have finally had the time to make graphics for my legacy challenge! Here is a link to the original post. Some of the cats do not match the specific breeds mentioned, but I still wanted to include cat photos because they're adorable. Thank you to those who are playing this challenge! I had a lot of fun creating it and, in the future, I plan on expanding it.

Pastel Plumbob Legacy Challenge

This is a 6 generation legacy challenge focused on all creative aspirations. I love the creative side of the sims and thought this would be a fun challenge. It is also a color-based challenge like not so berry, but pastel hence the name of the challenge 😉

The rules are simple, have fun with it!

Unlocking lifestyles is optional 

For the first generation, you must start with an adult(female) and an infant(either gender)(will be the next generation heir).

One of the rules for generation 6 is to paint portraits of each heir from referencing a photo, so make sure you take a portrait-style picture for each heir as an adult.

Everything was going great until one dark, rainy night the tour bus driver couldn’t see clearly and lost control of the wheel, everyone was fine other than your spouse. You lost everything, even the music, so you moved back to your parents’ house and raised your kids there. You eventually found your love for music again and wrote songs about your life.

Career- Entertainment career THEN quit when spouse dies to join the fast-food part-time job as an adult THEN as an elder sell songs you write

I was asked to tell more about the holidays in my legacy gameplay, so here is a super long and detailed post on the subject! 😊

How I use holidays in my game

I used to hate the holidays, cos I saw them as something my sims had to participate in and there was always so much pressure to complete all the traditions! But then I cracked it...

Holidays are a great way to add objectives to gameplay! When every day is some kind of a holiday with its own theme, there's always something for my sims to do.

I tick the "day off" box only if the holiday is a major one or the traditions would feel too rushed if my sim worked on the same day.

I try to have a lot of outdoor/traveling holidays in the spring and summer, and more home lot based holidays in the autumn and winter.

For some holidays, I add a diverse set of traditions and then choose only one or two to complete every sim year.

Sometimes my sims are just too busy with other things in life to participate at all. The No more "awful holiday" sad moodlet mod (linked below) is super useful because it completely takes the pressure off of completing holiday traditions!

It's very refreshing to use custom icons for the holidays, it matters more than you'd think! I use the More selectable icons mod (linked below) for this feature.

More holiday ideas

If you want to create your own holidays, but struggle with coming up with ideas, here are some things I always consider when I create holidays.

Can you match a world with a season? Summer holidays in Sulani, winter holidays in Mt. Komorebi, etc.

Alternatively, have a summer holiday in Sulani when it's winter elsewhere, a winter holiday in Mt. Komorebi when it's summer elsewhere, etc.

What if you took the default holidays and placed them in a different season? Celebrate Winterfest on the beach in the summer!

Can you match a world with a theme? Nature holidays in Granite Falls, city holidays in San Myshuno, etc.

Think of a simple theme for your holiday (games, sports, food, animals, books, etc.) and choose traditions based on that.

Create a holiday that requires your sim to travel from world to world to complete all the traditions.

Have a 3 day holiday for a vacation trip, with different traditions to complete each day.

Create holidays for specific life stages. What would a teen or an elder sim do for their holiday?

Create a holiday for each occult type. How would a Spellcaster spend their holiday?

Can you think of a way to combine holidays and clubs?

Put two really different holidays right next to each other so you have lots of variety in gameplay.

If you're playing a legacy, create a holiday for each heir sim based on their personality, and have their offspring celebrate these holidays to honor them.

Research real life holidays that are celebrated around the world to find new ideas.

*Note: I haven't actually changed any of the Chestnut Ridge builds because the builders were amazing for that pack; however, I will probably update in future with some of my own builds.

How to install:

1. Backup your existing saves.

2. Follow the link to the Google Drive download and save the file onto your computer.

3. Unzip the file (I recommend using 7-Zip, if you don’t have an unzip programme already installed) and place the file into your saves folder (Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves).

4. Open your game and you’ll find a save called ‘lostinsophie save 2.0’.

5. Get to exploring! I hope you enjoy this save file as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it the last few years. It’s been a labour of love and I’m so excited to finally share it with the Simming community.

You may have heard about our savefile already, but if not, I'd like to introduce you to one of the coolest savefiles already in the works. Our values for this playing experience are diversity, accessibility, aesthetics, and detailed storytelling. We have a creator team of 8 already and are looking to grow even more. If you are curious, read this post to learn more. Below, you can find brief descriptions of the kinds of roles we are looking to fill on our team. Everyone is volunteering a small amount of time to work on this save throughout the week, especially our admin team who has gone above and beyond to create a beautiful system that ensures the process is simple and stress-free. If you ever wanted to create a savefile but found yourself feeling overwhelmed, this is the perfect opportunity to achieve that otherwise daunting goal! We hope to make an impact in the ts4 community and gift its players with something any and everyone can join. - - - directors - requires a portfolio submission and/or past experience depending on the responsibilities

ꕥ graphic designer(s) - people or someone who can help us design graphics for save-related content. ideal for someone who loves creating cute graphics and visual storytelling. examples of past work is required but no professional design experience is necessary.

ꕥ director of partnerships - someone who can help us establish mutually beneficial partnerships with groups and people inside the ts4 content creation world. also responsible for validating that credits are correct and that no creator's terms and conditions are being violated. ideally, someone who likes engaging with influencers and players within the ts4 community.

ꕥ director of photography - someone who can capture still and motion visuals directly from the game. must have a gaming computer and the ability to use g-shades. perfect for someone who loves capturing content and visual storytelling. examples of past work required.

ꕥ build director - someone who can make magic happen in build with limited access to in-game content. will partner with storytellers to bring community lots to life in a way that is playable, accessible, and interesting. perfect for someone who can build a castle, spaceship, motel, etc from just base game content alone. example of past work required. ꕥ add-on director - someone who can reimagine pack features such as holidays, clubs, eco-systems, etc... to execute a more detailed world. will partner with the story team to create meaningful gameplay features that complement to narrative of the world. perfect for someone who is detail-oriented and loves creating clubs/holidays. no portfolio is required, just lots of passion and commitment.

specialists - contribute to the save via the gallery and work at your own pace ꕥ build specialists - partners with the storytellers to spice up and customize gallery builds to reflect the story and lifestyles of created sims and families. great for those who love interior decorating and build mode.

ꕥ CAS specialists - partners with the storytellers to dress up and refine created sims in CAS Mode to make sure each outfit and tiny detail reflects their unique character. great for those who love CAS.

ꕥ story specialists - creates households and family histories in live mode. great for those who love storytelling and gameplay. must be prepared to partner with others across teams as they collaborate on bringing your vision to life. - - -
