Well, I think Mr. Puzzles is the guy who ABSOLUTELY doesn't know how to support people when they're sad. Because as a child he literally had no friends, and therefore had no experience of supporting anyone in difficult times. Especially if it is a person close to him.

So he would most likely ask what caused this sadness in the first place, something like this:
