this has been on my mind all night, SO here the deal. Mei has been dating the reader for a while now but the thing is since Mei is a dragon descendant, why not make the reader be a phoenix. With wings and I read somewhere that phoenix are always seen together with a dragon in many myth. I just think that would be romantic af. It can be a scenario or oneshot if you want.

You and Mei weren't the type of couple to get into fights. With each other, I mean. With demons that try to rob your awesome dragon girlfriend of her sick sword? Absolutely!

"You really wanna take the back alleys to get back from the movies tonight? You're nuts." You walked alongside Mei, holding one of her hands and swinging it as you moved along. She laughed, putting her phone in her pocket.

"We'll be fine! And hey, if anything goes wrong, we've got Old Reliable!"

"You named the sword?"

"I mean...I could name my sword! Anyways, what street are we on now?"

She looked around, presumably for landmarks. The area you two were in now was dank, and reeked of cigarette smoke and trash. Truthfully, you had no idea why she wouldn't just get her motorcycle.

"We aren't lost, right?"

"Of course not. Once I know where we are, it'll be smooth sailing," she paused, looking behind her. "Did you hear that?"

You listened for a minute. There it was--whispering, along with muffled footsteps. You looked her in the eyes.

"What should we do?" you whispered at her, not trying to attract any attention.

"SHOW YOURSELVES, COWARDS! WE AREN'T AFRAID OF YOU!" She yelled. Your eyes darted around the space, trying to see movement even though it was dark.

"Not afraid, huh? We can deal with that." a gruff voice approached. behind it came the sound of heavy boots. The figures stepped into what little light there was and revealed themselves. One of them, shorter than the other, had horns that curled around its head similar to a ram. It was wearing a leather jacket with spikes on it. The taller one, a woman, had dark eyes and a knife in her hands. You held onto the sleeve of Mei's jacket in a panic.

"We're not looking for trouble." You said, trying to urge your girlfriend to agree. However, she stood her ground.

"But if trouble comes looking for us..." she brandished her blade. The demons looked at each other, then at the sword.

"Listen, princess, just hand over that sword of yours, and no one gets hurt." the woman got into a defensive stance, with the other demon following suit. If Mei was going to fight, you might as well back her up. You dropped the glamour that made you look human to reveal your scarlet and orange feathers that lined your arms, face, and legs. Burning hot with the fire in your veins.

"Uh...did we prepare for that part?"

"maybe not."

But they ran at you two anyways, and while the woman tried to bring a knife to a sword fight, you took to trying to punch the other one as hard as you could. It blocked your blows surprisingly well, however its aim in trying to hit you was far from good. It tried to grab your arms, however recoiled with a yelp when it felt how hot you were. Taking advantage of this moment, you pressed both your arms to its side. It doubled over in pain, and you then knocked it out with your fists.

In the meantime, Mei was fighting and winning against the woman and her knife. In the light, you could see that there was something on the knife, some kind of liquid. It was almost glow in the dark.

"Mei! There's something on the knife!" You ran at the woman from the side. tackling her, she tried to cut you.

"What is it?!" Mei asked, pulling you toward her as the woman nearly sliced your arm.

"I don't know, but I think we should get out of here!" You stumbled to start running while the woman was still down. Mei followed behind you, and there was a chase as you weaved through the maze of the city. Finally, you came to a dead end. Turning around, you set yourself aflame and leapt in front of your girlfriend to catch the woman.

This demon woman wasn't exactly weak. She struggled in your grip immensely until Mei unleashed her dragon as she helped you to fling her off into the sky. You both watched her disappear and caught your breaths.

"That was the most exciting movie date we've ever been on!" she cheered, hugging you and giving you a kiss on the cheek. You blushed, returning to your human form. Thank goodness you two were fireproof.

"That's one way to put it."

Maybe the reader comforting Mei with the samadhi fire accident. They alway tell her that it's going to be fine and that they are never going to hate her for it. PLEASE MY GIRL JUST NEED A HUG- this shit has traumatise me.😔😔

Finally, the smoke cleared. You coughed, waving one of your hands to move the smoke away from your face. In the middle of the area, you saw her. Mei, with her clothes torn at the edges and her hair no longer in the fun buns you loved to see. Tears were running down her face and she was looking at her hands.

You ran over to her, sliding on the ground and embracing her. In an instant she was grasping onto you, sobbing into your shoulder as you tried your best to console her.

“I’m so sorry. Y/N, I’m so sorry!” She cried. You felt her take heaving breaths.

“Mei, I’m here for you, okay? You have nothing to be sorry for.” You were tearing up too, since you’d never seen that side of her. Glowing red, eyes just white dots, voice made up entirely of rage.

“But I almost hurt you! I almost hurt all my friends!” She pulled away, looking you in the eyes. You retrieved a napkin from your coat’s pocket and wiped her tears. Her face was warm, and in the cold that surrounded the area, it was comforting.

“But you didn’t. We’re fine. MK’s in tact, I’m in tact,” you gestured to yourself, showing her that the only “damage” to your person was just some ash that happened to land on the front of your coat. “Don’t beat yourself up for this, alright?”

“I didn’t know that was in me all along…and he didn’t tell us…” her shoulders hunched forward, but you knew she was referring to the Monkey King. You weren’t quite sure what to tell her. Admittedly, you were mad at him too along with Mr. Tang for starting the ritual. What if things had gone wrong, and someone got really hurt? What if Mei got hurt? 

You ran your fingers through her hair, letting her cry it out. Getting into all this demon business wasn’t pretty. For goodness sake, it was only about a year ago that you two were at the arcade with not a care in the world! 

“Mei,” you cupped her face in your hands “you’re one of the strongest girls I know. If you learn to control the fire…”

“I can be a hero?”

“Yes, but you’ll also be able to make s’mores on the go.” You cracked a joke to lighten the mood, and to your relief, it worked. She gave you a playful shove and snickered.

“That’s genius.” She smiled, her voice still wobbling.

“Now come on. We’ve got a ghost to beat the shit out of.” 

You got up and dusted yourselves off, before hugging again and sharing a sweet kiss. When she pulled away, she held your hands in hers and gave them a squeeze.

“Let’s get this bitch.”

Was it smart to be running around delivering noodles and making his way over to Flower Fruit Mountain to train, after waking up with a stuffy nose and a cough that shook his bones? Probably not. But time was crucial to MK, who refused to disappoint anyone. Now that he was clocked out for the day, the challenging part arose: making it through hero training without collapsing. 

Getting to the mountain was actually pretty easy, but if he was honest, it was harder just doing a warm up exercise. The stretches were fine, but it was things like the situps or jumping jacks that made him feel winded. Wukong took notice of this, hopping off of his cloud and putting his hands in a "t" shape.

"Time out, bud. You alright?" 

"Me? Yeah, no, I'm fine! Everything's peachy!" He threw in a pun to try and act natural, however it was evident that the monkey was hesitant to believe him.

"If you say so. In the meantime, why don't we do some light sparring to start? I'll go easy on you." 

"I can go all out! I'm only coughing because…uh…I keep breathing wrong?"

"Alrighty," Wukong jumped at MK, however the boy was just fast enough to take out his staff and block him from knocking him over. "Then prove you can go all out."

There was no doubt in MK's mind that his mentor wanted the best for him, however this felt much more aggressive. He didn't want to admit defeat, especially when they only just started! 

So here he was, still blocking attacks like a champ, but his aim in striking back was terribly weak. Wukong dodged every single shot with ease, pushing MK backwards until he hit the edge of the rock. MK was standing with just one foot and his staff to balance him, but the other was dangling over the edge. He paused, not moving forward, and felt his stomach turning. It was all too much. All the noises around him became muffled as he started to fall over.

Wukong rushed and caught the kid before he could go all the way down. He then took him back to the main area of the mountain, where his own house was, and set him on the couch. MK wasn't going to quit, that was for certain. 

"Hey, sleep well?" Wukong was re-entering the room, cold water bottle and soup in hand. MK was leaning on his elbows, getting his bearings. The boy's bandana was skewed, hair going in every direction, and he was pretty certain that his shirt was on backwards now that he was thinking about it. 

"I guess," he paused, then remembering what happened. "Wait, please don't be mad at me, I'm fine, I can keep going!"

"No, you can't. Bud," Wukong sat next to him, looking him in the eyes and sighing. "I admire your dedication, I really do, but you need to take a minute."

"Okay, I'll set a timer!"

"That's not what I meant. No training until you're feeling better. Nose all cleaned out and coughing gone." Wukong furrowed his brows.

"Are you…upset?" The boy muttered, avoiding his teacher’s eyes. Wukong softened his gaze and ruffled MK’s hair.

"I'm not mad at you, alright? But you're the only one that really knows your limits. Pushing past them when you're not feeling good can be super unhealthy. I mean, c'mon, if heroes always did that and never stopped fighting, they'd lose more often, right?"

"I feel bad, though. I don't want to let you down. Or Pigsy. Or anyone, I think."

"You're not letting anyone down. If you want to help others and give them your best, you have to help yourself first. Now relax and eat this."  He passed the bowl over to his student, not taking his eyes off of him until he started eating.

MK didn't try fighting it this time, choosing to stay put on the sofa and eating his soup. Wukong was in and out of the room periodically, bringing a blanket or two and even letting some of the monkeys keep MK company. 

The sun was close to setting now, and Wukong was on the couch too. MK was laying down with his head resting on one of the sage's thighs, and he was fast asleep. With nothing to do and nowhere to be, Wukong took to working out knots in the boy's hair, checking his face for discomfort and finding none. When he was confident he sorted it all out, he started dozing off too. If the kid was gonna take a minute, he might as well too.

Could i request a headcanon of Mk, Red son and Mei(seperatly) with a reader who is very affectionate and like to cuddle all the time. Basically they are sort of clingy but respect there boundaries. When they are having a hard time they come and ask for some cuddles to recharge there energies.

They're...stiff. at first. But she gradually finds himself yearning for your affections when you're not around.

More often than not he blurts out that they want a hug or for you to hold one of her hands, and obviously, you oblige.

Throughout the relationship, they get more comfortable with not only taking affection, but giving it as well!

Forehead kisses and an arm around your waist are the most common things you'll get from him! But she won't shy away if you want to cuddle, unless they're busy. But then it's a matter of how good they are at making blueprints when you're sitting in his lap!

You never have to worry about being cold at night ever again. Or anytime, for that matter. She can lower her body heat, however they never get "cold". It's very nice during winter!

A concept: crying over something or other, and faster than you can blink, they're ushering you to a different space, taking you into his arms, and comforting you. Rubbing soothing circles onto your back as she helps you regulate your breathing, and then asking you what happened and who they need to beat up.

Wrapping yourselves up in their coat/using their coat as a blanket because it's nice and warm

MK(he/they)x Fem!Reader(she/her)

There wasn’t a lot that MK wouldn’t do for Y/N. She knew this extremely well, considering that he was the hero of the city. Despite wielding powers that she could only dream of, he thought that she was the one that was out of their league. It was a constant flustering battle as to how much the two would boost each other’s confidence. 

Lately she found herself alone more often. MK was never without some task to carry out. Delivering noodles, training with Monkey King, generally running errands…it took up a lot of their schedule. He always came home late, barely making it under their shared covers before passing out. When the morning came, he was gone before she even woke up. It was becoming too common and she could tell by how they sighed after shutting the door that it was getting to him. 

So, what’s a woman to do? 

Well, she convinced Mr. Tang to convince Pigsy to let MK have a few days off. She insisted on going with MK to see Monkey King so she could pull the sage aside and tell him that she was going to put her boyfriend on house arrest. Thank goodness he was on her side, saying that he’d noticed MK struggling a bit.

So that night, when MK got home, she was waiting for him. She had prepared some egg fried rice so he could consume something besides noodles before going to bed. They did appreciate the meal, but he was saying how he was just going to go to bed the whole time.

“Y/N, I’m fine. Look, if I was really exhausted, would I be able to do this?” They held still, with their arms out. She stood back, thinking he would try to do some monkey magic. But nothing happened.

“Are you trying to get your staff or something?” Y/N asked.

“I’m trying to do a cartwheel. Am I not doing it?”

“No…”

“Oh.”

She got them into the bathroom and took a quality shower, and after, he relaxed a bit more as she helped them dry his hair. The whole time she was doing so, they kept almost falling asleep.

“That was nice, but we gotta sleep so I can go to work tomorrow…” They yawned.

“You don’t have work tomorrow. Or training. It’s just gonna be us.”

He turned around so fast that his neck cracked. But she stared them down, explaining that there was no way he’d be able to keep up with anything if he was tired. He pouted, still wanting to protest, but the way she looked at him with such genuine worry and determination to make them feel okay made that line of thought dissolve. 

The pair made their way to the bedroom and got comfortable under the covers, with his head nestled in the crook of her neck and one of your hands running through his hair. 

“Thank you, Y/N…” 

“Anything for you, MK.”
