First impressions of using a rotary tool to shape foam - I miss the undo button!

So I’m gonna be 100% honest – I’m personally still figuring out a thought process for where to put hard shadows, and honestly I don’t usually like doing all black hard shadows. But generally speaking, when I’m working in black and white (or even in color) my priority for where to place hard shadows goes like this:

1) Where it looks coolest

2) Where you want the viewer to look (and conversely, where you want the viewer to look away from)

3) What logically makes sense in terms of general lighting.
