I Have Some Thoughts That May Comprise A Whole Post About This Later, But I'm In Process On A Whole One

I have some thoughts that may comprise a whole post about this later, but I'm in process on a whole one about the documentary and another on Like Crazy so this will have to do for now.

One thing that sticks out to me about the whole event of JKs inclusion in Letter is it really highlights how much heavy-lifting he does for BTS's music. This isn't just about recording their various guide tracks, this is about the tasks, the labour that he takes on as the Lead/Main/whatever vocal of a group that highly values musical content.

(Again, I'm not trying to shade any other groups or members here, just want to share some JK praise).

We can see hints of it here in the JPD as well as the In The Soop ost recording sessions. JK does a lot of work when it comes to the vocal and musical structure of the songs. I believe it's particularly visible in Letter just due to the contrast in JK and JMs voices.

Anyway, maybe I'll expound on this more later but wanted to share my little piece of JK praise.

QUICK COMBO: DREAM GLOW | YES OR NO | STAY

My thoughts on this QC:

This combo is so cute!! It tells an adorable little story of a main character that starts out with big dreams in Dream Glow, finds 'the one' and falls in love in Yes or No and then wants to be with them forever in Stay. the musical transition between all three is just so lovely as well, nice upbeat, happy songs (which is not generally my norm, gotta satisfy my emo roots every few tracks 😉).

The BTS World OSTs are vastly underrated imo so this was nice to be able to bring one of them back with Dream Glow.

Stay was one of the first subunits tracks that I latched onto in my journey and I still regularly seek it out.

Yes or No has actually surprised me on Golden. Easily my favorite track JK has released this year. I just need to get over my current cold so i can sing along with it!

Hmm, I think this style should simply be called a censored version. Literally just muted a few words, it's very abrupt and obvious.

Synopsis: Gaming at an arcade

Production: The coverage of the games is a little rough, not sure if they just didn't get it or decided to edit it out in favor of focusing on the guys. This is definitely one of those episodes that casual viewers could easily get lost and only watch for the guys and not the show itself. I don't really understand how they compensated for the different difficulties on the DDR game but whatever.

Endearment: I think this episode is meant to feel like the giys are just hanging out at n arcade but something is definitely off for me, not sure what it is. I don't love it or hate it.

Winner/Loser: See the final part

Best Cheater: none

Member Moments:

RM: RM is legit, he knew exactly how to be an entertainer on the basketball game and then he was able to put his money where his mouth was when they tried to tell him he was just bad. We love a triumph!

JN: So proud of Jin for his DDR victory! Dancing king!

YG: Yoongi losing the basketball game, what more to say.

JH: Hobi losing the dancing game....what more to say??

JM: I've always wondered if JM was under the weather during these episodes, he's doing a good job of masking but there are hints that he's not entirely feeling his best.

V: Not gonna lie, I cringe at the thought of barefoot DDR. maybe the staff cleaned it before they started but you have no idea what's been on those things. More power to you V!

JK: JKs first encounter with the basketball game...you shall meet again! and you will absolutely conquer! ;)

Bonus Content: ok, the bonus content definitely feels like we're just hanging out at an arcade.

Run BTS: 014 | The Spy Who Returned part 2

Synopsis: Continuation of Mini games at a water park. Divided in two teams. MC: YG. OLD: RM, JN, JH. YOUNG: JM, V, JK A spy was chosen at the beginning

Production: Good coverage and excellent sound work. Either the execution or the explanation of the second game leaves something to be desired. It doesn't tie into the waterslide at all, very disconnected.

Endearment: This episode seems more like a filler. The punishment was great though. We sympathize with Hobi and Jin riding an outdoor waterslide in the cold and RM being the fortunate one to miss out on it.

Winner: see final part

Loser: JN, JH

Best Cheater: JN

RM: Aww, the minus and division sign are tough for a lot of us too! ;)

JN: Did Jin even have his eyes open during that second run down the slide??

YG: We don't get to see Yoongi on the second slide

V: oof that first fall on the waterslide looked rough!

Bonus Content: I thought Jin was holding a sponge and pretending to take a selfie with the pirate! And we get our footage of V and YG on the balance game. Honestly think i prefer this bonus footage over the entire part 2.
