STANDING NEXT TO YOU (Usher Remix) REACTION
STANDING NEXT TO YOU (Usher Remix) REACTION

Listen to it first if you haven't yet:
OK, I really don't want to be a blog that just crashed on everything JK releases, but I do just have one tiny point to share about this Remix. Overall, I don't hate it or live it; it's just very benign in the context of remixes we've gotten this year and I still don't care for SNTY at all but not enough to hate it.
This Remix highlighted something for me that I only had hints of with the JT 3D Remix. Obviously a LOT of GOLDEN album was an homage to Michael Jackson and I honestly believe that Usher is the closest they could get to a current artist that most embodies that style...so cue the Remix. Just like we had JT on 3D which was a song CLEARLY in his style.
The thing is, when they incorporate the artist that was the inspiration of an homage...it feels just wrong to me. A little like when you have to explain the punchline to a joke. Like we GOT it, we didn't need any handholding. Is it just me that feels this way??
Okay, that's my one point. I do foresee that the same kind of ppl that enjoyed the JT Remix will love this one too. I don't mind hearing it but I think it's more out of fatigue than anything; I'm just sick of being disappointed by JKs work this year

Run BTS: 024 | BTS vs Zombies
Original Air Date: 24 OCT 2017 Episode Length: 32:47 Total Parts: 1 YouTube English Subtitles: Yes Title Song: Blood Sweat & Tears

Synopsis: Zombie games at an amusement park
Production: I was so torn on this episode going into this review. I know how much it's beloved by army, but this one is so frustrating to try to follow the escape room game. it's very clear the guys didn't really understand it enough either, but I think that's why we got the coverage we did in the edit. This was absolutely a learning episode for the production team, as I don't think it ever gets this bad again. on the other hand, the concept is great, and I think the puzzle itself and tag game were well-prepared. but let's also not forget the camera team, absolute rockstars this episode! they got excellent coverage of the guys, the zombies, the game content, all while everyone is screaming, running around, and trying to not be in the shots.
Endearment: This episode is absolutely carried on the endearment factor. Before i watched it for the first time, i knew how much army loved it, and with the production issues, it's hugely due to the guys and how much the audience invests in them.
Winner: JN
Loser: none
Best Cheater: YG, sneaking unfreeze stickers onto JK. lol
Member Moments:
RM: Poor RM, couldn't see the tickets that were right in front of him. It's good that Jin knew to check over the same area.
JN: Jin using english with the zombies... do you have ticket?? I'm in love.
YG: Suga is absolutely fight over flight...no doubt about it. but I love how supportive of Jin he is
JH: Hobi's poor shoe, the clear star of the episode.
JM: I LOVE Jimin's moment of checking behind the photos like that's what he intended to do...of course, he wasn't scared and running away, not our big strong Jimin!! ;)
V: Of course, V made friends with the zombies. His little face after getting hauled off during that instant re-freeze
JK: I really wanna know what JK said to RM at the back of the bus when they found out it was zombies.
Bonus Content: Be prepared for a LOT of screaming if you watch this. Some cute moments during the freeze tag game.

I've said it before, but the ONLY reason Promise isn't #2 is because Letter is not on Spotify. There is no doubt in my mind that it would have dominated my stats by a landslide.
I do think it's interesting to see the commonalities and differences between everyone, so if you're hesitating to share yours, please know that I'd love to see it! 😀

Synopsis: At a bowling alley
Production: Good coverage, good sound, nice clean setup and the PUMA sponsorship didn't feel too forced or overfeatured. Pretty sure this was filmed the same day as the arcade eps.

RM: When RMs comment made JK collapse after his throw!!
JN: As expected of Jin the gamer, he prioritzes trash talk over gameplay! ;)

JH: Easily my favorite watermelon farmer!
JM: Did you see that jump when he gets up for his first turn at the 2nd game???

RUN BTS: THE ANALYTICS | Episodes 1-20
This post was one of the reasons I wanted to start my own review of all the Run BTS episodes in the first place. I knew there was some data I could pull to be compiled in interesting ways. I present to you, the lovely armys of tumblr: CQ's Analytics of Run BTS episodes 1-20!
Overall stats:

Honestly, not a bad overall picture for the beginning of a series. Maybe my initial opinions would have been different but knowing just how great some of the later episodes are, the average ranking of 2.9 isn't bad. The Korean Food War episode is the clear highlight of this 'season' for me with the Confessionsal episodes being my lowest ranked.
Title Songs:

The Title Song data is one of the main things that prompted me starting to review the series. I posted a poll about which song ppl associate with Run BTS ages ago on @bts-polls but I have a suspicion that individual's answers are more related to which section of shows they were first introduced to or rewatch the most...Also that poll was in the very early days of that blog so it had very little outreach, maybe it deserves a repost??
Wins:

Actually very evenly split! Look at all those smiling faces bundled together! Please note both the wins and losses data has some amount of subjectivity since some episodes are not 100% clear regarding winners and losers. If a member was part of a winning/losing team, I included each of the relevant members. For example, the 100 seconds episode: BTS won against the staff, so each BTS member got marked in wins and 'other' got a mark in losses.
Losses:

Okay, so gathering all of these pouty faces into one place feels overwhelming!! I cannot look at this for very long, the feels! The 'other' category here is when the staff lost and was punished.
Best Cheater:

This data is EXTREMELY subjective! I'm so curious how this data is going to evolve over the series!! The 'other' category here is from the staff purposely misleading/changing circumstances in the 30 second mission episode.
Going forward:

The next analytics post will compare the 'season' of episodes against the series total so far. Please let me know if you have any questions about how I've calculated any of this or if you have any ideas for additional data that would be interesting to analyze.
Why am I doing this in 20 episode chunks?
In my prime of watching TV shows on a week-by-week basis back in the day, a season usually comprised of 20 episodes. With the rise of streaming, this framework has been destroyed but I still think it's a great measuring stick for episodic content.

Check out this post for links to all of my Run BTS episode reviews and analytics posts.
Hope y'all find this sort of review as interesting as I do! Data is cool!
Well this post feels appropriate to bring back now... for anyone looking, here's a link to the Justin Timberlake remix of 3D.
On first listen, I absolutely hate it more than the original version. The lyrics aren't as crude but the sound in JTs parts are horrific. And I am so over ppl referring to JK like they're best buds. I'd be shocked if JT and JK were ever even on the same phone call at any point in this. There's absolutely no basis for the familiarity... but whatever. Definitely not entering my Playlist.
