setting: you're watching a horror movie with them.

to be very honest, I feel like seungcheol would be more scared than you, except he hides it really well. you don't notice because you're scared as well, and when you jump in your seat and scream, it startles him too but quickly feigns confidence and teases you for being scared.

➼ yoon jeonghan

run. no questions asked, just run. jeonghan will never ever let you live down this moment. watch him double down in laughter for the rest of the movie. watch him narrate this whole incident, dramatically, to the rest of the boys. and every next time you both decide to watch another horror movie, he'll bring it up. every ten minutes.

➼ hong jisoo

so so concerned🥺 the jumpscare spooks you both, but he rushes to your side and asks if you're okay. you look at his face and start laughing at the ridiculousness of it all, and he starts laughing too. ends up becoming a comedy movie from then on.

➼ moon junhui

he's the one who suggested it. he's also the one who regrets it first. jumps when you get scared or start screaming. not sure if you guys watch the whole movie cause you're both screaming at the top of your lungs every five minutes.

➼ kwon soonyoung

it's so funny cause he was so so excited for this. when he sees you folding yourself and watching through your fingers (ykwim?) he chuckles and says he'll protect you. also ends up getting scared with you. but most of the time he's just so loud and vocal - "woah look at that!" "woAH where did THAT COME FROM-"

➼ jeon wonwoo

wasn't very into this idea but agrees nonetheless. starts smiling when he sees you're scared shitless and lets you hide behind him whenever you feel like something spooky is gonna appear. he feels like a knight in shining armour.

➼ lee jihoon

he's scared. he'd rather die than admit it. keeps a confident and brave image to not let you know. there are times when he lets out the quietest of welps but you don't hear it cause you're screaming out there. pats your back and says, "it's okay. I'll beat them up for you."

➼ lee seokmin

he's the scared one. you have to keep increasing the volume of the movie but he somehow manages to scream over that. does not survive until the end. you swear you could see his soul fly away😭

➼ kim mingyu

the 6'2" man makes himself small next to you. his feet are tucked in and he's hugging his knees. hugs you whenever you get scared, but you don't know if it's because he's calming you down, or because he's scared himself.

➼ xu minghao

so quiet and engrossed in the movie. 'shh's you when you scream😭 "hey, keep it down, I'm trying to concentrate." but still side-hugs you and pulls you into him. laughs at you while hugging you lovingly at the end.

➼ boo seungkwan

gets scared with you. you're both screaming your lungs out together. he's sweating bullets and you're clinging onto him. you're both, literally, on top of the couch, hugging your knees. gets startled when you shout and whines about it.

➼ chwe hansol

starts critically analysing the movie ten minutes into it. when he sees you're scared, he just... laughs?? and goes "it's not that scary, c'mere." gives the movie a standing ovation at the end while you sit just there, soulless.

➼ lee chan

what horror movie? he ain't letting you put on a horror movie. he starts whining the moment he hears you talk about watching a horror movie. you both end up watching Frozen.

you giggle as soonyoung pushes his face on yours, “I don't see it.” he states with a serious tone. “I don't see the 'ugly' you're talking about.” you chuckle again.

he gasps, and holds your face close enough for you to smell the pasta you both ate a while ago. “no! are you going blind? the doctor said it was a possibility! noooo.”

you simply roll your eyes and pinch his cheek, “they said that experiencing blurry vision is normal, and complete blindness is rare.”

with a hum, he lays on your lap and places his palm on your growing belly. pressing a kiss to your tummy, he rubs his nose against it, accidentally tickling you.

you lean back, relaxing into couch as he talks to your baby. you run your hand through his hair, and caress his head and nape. “I can't wait to dress our baby in tiger onesies,” he squeals like a school girl and you watch him sit up and continue his yap.

he gasps, and you see stars twinkling in his eyes (he's also tearing up), “we all should wear tiger onesies! and-and we'd be the cutest tiger family.” yeah, he's actually crying.

you simply admire your husband while he has a breakdown. but you also love it when he's normal and doesn't indirectly promote his tiger cult. so you put a stop to his rambling by kissing him and soonyoung is more than happy to stop.

he melts into the kiss. one of his hands wrap around your back to pull you closer gently while the other cradles your face. he pulls away to snuggle into your neck and sway you in his arms.

a wave of emotions crash into you suddenly, and you're too aware of how you look and feel. your eyes tear up and you sniff, causing him to look at you.

worry etches on his face, and he holds you like you're about to break. “what's wrong baby?”

“how do you even love me?”

soonyoung smiles from ear to ear, and he excitedly kisses your cheeks. “wanna hear about how I fell for you? I know you heard it a thousand other times. BUT! this one is exclusive edition.”

“why?” you sniff, and pout unintentionally.

“because,” he lays his palm on your tummy and smiles. “this'll be the first time our baby listens to how his dad fell for his mom.”

“his?”

“her. anything. wait, what if the baby is a tiger?”

“that's physically impossible.”

“anything is possible.”

you roll your eyes but your smile softens when he lays on your lap again. he whispers the details of the story you know all too well and won't ever get tired of hearing. and he always finishes it like, “I probably forgot a few other things. I'll say it the next time.”

he's so confident that this won't be the last time he'll reiterate his love for you. and that he'll be there for a next time. that he isn't going anywhere. that you're his home and he's yours too.

the red mark on the calendar almost goes unseen when seokmin heads to work in the morning. the red mark that warns him to tread carefully; that you're gonna be unpredictable for the next few days; that your emotions are gonna be all over the place, and one wrong move can lead to waterworks and angry cries; that you crave comfort but are too shy to let out.

the notification that pops up right as he's about to leave work reminds him of some very urgent and important errands that he's gotta run before going back home.

an hour later, seokmin comes home to a dark living room and kitchen, and a dull light coming from your shared bedroom. he throws his work bag away and enters the bedroom to find you lying face down on the bed.

"hey baby," he beams and comes closer to press a fluttering kiss on top of your bed. you groan in return.

"i got some stuff for you," he says as he places the carry bags on the floor beside the bed. you reluctantly sit up.

seokmin can't help but let out an endearing smile, seeing your messy hair and puffy face. he pulls out the tub of chocolate ice cream from the bag and hands it to you with the wooden spoon (that breaks after two scoops). you don't mind though, more focused on finishing the tub that provides relief from the pain.

the approaching red mark may signal your upcoming emotional turbulence, but seokmin doesn't mind. after all, it's also the time when he gets to take extra care of you.
