"There's a carving in our gate," said Dacey. "A woman in a bearskin, with a child in one arm suckling at her breast. In her other hand she holds a battleaxe. She's no proper lady, that one, but I always loved her."

Tis True

I often see people talk about Tyrion designing the saddle for Bran as if it happened before things went sour between the Lannisters and Starks, like it's some sort of "it was a more innocent time," statement. And while yeah, it was before things got a lot worse, I feel like it doesn't do justice to what Tyrion actually did to frame it this way. The Starks and Lannisters already hated each other. They already hated each other and Tyrion designed the saddle for Bran anyway, and he gets absolutely no thanks for it by people who treat him suspiciously from the get-go, and he's treated like a traitor in his own family because of his empathy for a disabled boy. It's not really about the relationship between the two houses, Tyrion reached out to Bran as a person.

A lot of people wanted Haelena to emote more during Blood and Cheese. First of all, y'all have clearly never experienced an adrenaline rush so hard you trip past outward panic and right into dissociation. But second of all, Haelena is a very witness to this event.
Haelena in the books is an ordinary young woman. Haelena in the show is a dreamer. She witnesses the tragedies in her family happen before they happen. She has already seen her son's fate and from the moment the scene begins, she knows she is helpless to stop it. It's like being in a recurring nightmare for her. You can see the moment where she stares in horror and fumbles for words before simply pointing. Because she knows she can't save her son so she's going to save her daughter.
When she goes to pick up her daughter and just walks as quickly as she can away, she is brimming with emotion, but she doesn't have the luxury to feel it because she has to get to safety (or else these men could kill her or her daughter next). She goes into shock and she moves.
It was an excellent performance by the actress. Not what we'd typically expect, but still deeply impactful
Y'all have seen this, now spin the wheel
Reblog because reblogs are cool and for bigger sample size, thx!
It is known (it should be)
being a book purist about the asoiaf main series makes sense and is normal because the books are good and the show is not good. being a book purist about fire and blood is crazy because fire and blood isn’t good. hopefully this little explainer has helped clear up any confusion on this topic
what i love very much about buffy as a show is it seems like you cant say "they shouldve been at the club" because they were, critically, at the club literally all the time. however, despite this, and i can't emphasize this enough, oh my god, they shouldve been at the club. especially buffy herself. no one shouldve been at the club more. and she WAS. however, in the ways that are important, she also was not
For the purposes of this poll, major recurring characters are recurring characters who interact directly and routinely with the main cast but who are not the subjects of the plotlines being followed in s6.
