yae clinked her glass against ei’s, and you looked up from your text with heizou. everybody else was laughing, cheering; there felt like a thinly veiled mask of sympathy from the men, however.

i mean, who in their right mind would place their ex with themselves — willingly, too?

i don’t think this is going to go well, i’m just setting myself up for failure.

come on. you had to at least try.

if i continue with this, will it destroy any career that i have? will my face of disappointment, of hurt over our relationship, be too obvious? will i fail miss ei and miss yae? will i disappoint scara?

but why, why did his opinion matter so much to you? you hated him, you despised him; after the sourness that your relationship ended with. you wanted nothing to do with him.

“(y/n), are you alright?” heizou whispered, rubbing his thumb against the back of your hand in an attempt to console you. you swallowed back the contempt.

“i’m fine.” you couldn’t look heizou in the eye. the streamer had a knack for discerning whether you were being truthful or not, and you couldn’t handle the embarrassment of yae and ei knowing that you hated their decision.

“no you’re not.”

“heizou, i’m fine.” the last word came out bitingly harsh, and you bit back a hiss. heizou recoiled, bringing his hand back onto his lap and crossing his legs. a flash of hurt briefly appeared on his face, disappearing as quickly as it came. i’m sorry, zou.

you smoothed your hair back and tried to focus on what yae was saying.. but the thought of spending time with scaramouche clouded your mind.

maybe i should quit before this gets worse for both of us.

Ever since you were a kid, you believe you will never fall in love. For you, love is useless and could cause a heartbreak once it's over. Until you meet someone who changed your mind. You wonder how could you like someone who's mean and arrogant, it was the painter Edgar Valden. You managed to be friends with him, everyday you wake up feeling excited to meet him. Feeling special because he's only friends with you, you had a feeling he likes you back.

Until that day you two were hanging out in the manor's library to watch Edgar paint. It was so quiet you could hear his brush strokes. After a while, the library door opened revealing the "prisoner" and postman. They were chatting together, Edgar raised his head and his eyes widened.

"Edgar? Are you alright? " You tapped his shoulder and he snap out of his trance. He fake coughed and nodded.

"Who is that with the blonde hair? "

"Oh that's the new survivor! His name is Victor Grantz, he's a postman. You should see his dog though, it's so cute! " You laughed.

Edgar hummed in reply and from that day on, he started acting weird. His face would randomly turns red whenever he was going to paint and he started going to the library more often. At first you think nothing of it but then it kinda concerns you so you decided to ask him.

"You've been acting weird these past days.. Are you alright Edgar? " His face turns red again and he sighed.

"I guess it's time to tell you.. I.. " You realized something and had a little hope he would confess to you. You nodded telling him to go on.

"I have a crush on Victor! " He huffed, you felt your heart dropped to your stomach.

Victor? But you rarely sees them together.. Plus he was only here for 5 days! You hold the urge to cry and smiled.

"I'm friends with Victor, if you want I can introduce you to him? " His eyes brighten and he held both your hands.

"Are you sure? That would be amazing! When are you going to do it? "

"Of course! we are best friends after all. Why not now? Cmon let's go to the library to meet him! " You lead him to the library still holding your tears.

They both started dating after 3 months, unfortunately you haven't moved on yet. Your heart sank everytime you saw them holding hands or laughing together. Ever since you introduced them, Edgar was seen hanging out with Victor more than you. Luca knows you love Edgar and he has been by your side to comfort you. He knows it's still hard to win your heart when you still love that certain painter. You sobbed into his arms, can't take the pain anymore.
