Some of you may understand how I feel. I read an article that talked about how our brains can’t tell the difference between falling in love with a real person and falling in love with a fictional person.
Now the fictional ones are perfect, comfort characters. Everytime I go through a break up, I come home to them. Maladaptive daydreaming has become my best coping skill. And sometimes I genuinely worry that I do it too much. It takes up hours of my days.
And when I try to date in real life, I realize that they’re not them. They’re not my fictional loves. And I lose feelings for them. Or just something isn’t right.
I get so depressed that I can’t run away to Hogwarts or to Hawkins. I get actually depressed. And I know that I can’t be the only one that feels this way.
Being in love with someone who does not exist is a blessing and a curse.

Sooooo excited for part 2

Love bipolar, Draco Malfoy x reader
Hi! So this is going to be a longer series with multiple parts and it's kind of a slowburn at least at the start but it'll get good later on I swear!
"I could kill you right now, y/l/n"
He pressed the knife deeper in to my neck, forcing me to tilt my head up. I opened my eyes and met his cold grey eyes, he was smirking. My eyes had started to tear up from frustration and I cursed myself for showing any weakness.
"…if I wanted to" he continued, letting out a small chuckle as he leaned forwards, close enough that I could feel his cold breath on my face and his hair tickling my forehead. The knife still pressed on my throat, he let go of my arms and lifted his free hand to wipe away the tear that had started its journey down my cheek.
"And nobody would even know"
Part 1, New beginnings
Word count: 1,7k
I shivered as I walked down the platform 9¾. The weather was starting to get chilly again.
I hopped on the train and felt the warmth seeping back into my body. I looked for a place to sit and found an empty compartment since I was among the first people coming in the train.
I sat down and let out a deep sigh. I was going to an entirely new school and leaving behind all the memories and friends I had made in Beauxbatons.
The train had started moving and I was starting to feel anxious. I would be the new girl coming to the school in their third year when everyone had already made friends. I was scared I'd get too many eyes staring at me and make no friends at all. I hated this. I wasn't really the outgoing type but I also didn't deal well with loneliness.
I was getting lost in my thoughts when I felt a tug on my sleeve. I looked down and smiled when I saw a small furry creature tugging my sleeve and trying to nip at my hands. My ferret Kelmi had climbed out of my pocket and apparently gotten tired of me not giving her enough attention.
"Hey don't bite me!" I shook her off of me. She had sunk her teeth into my hand when I hadn't pet her. I gave her an offended look and lifted her on my lap. She looked too cute to be angry at.
"At Least I have you with me right?" I scratched her back and she relaxed in my arms. I looked out the window and my thoughts started drifting.
I had fallen asleep at some point and when I woke up, Kelmi was gone. I assumed she had climbed in my trunk where she had her own little magic-made bed and cage.
I pulled out a book from my bag and started reading it. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, I had always been interested in magical creatures and animals in general.
I didn't get far in the book though, when the train stopped. I looked out the window but we weren't at the Hogsmeade stop yet.
All the lights turned off and the temperature dropped. Screams were heard throughout the train. I saw a hooded figure floating towards me and I heard spine-chilling raspy breathing as the creature entered my compartment. I closed my eyes. I started feeling weak and helpless and felt as if all the joy in the world was fading away.
It ended almost as fast as it started. The creature had gone by the time I had opened my eyes again. I noticed the tears in my eyes threatening to spill. I felt numb. I sat there trying to get myself together for the rest of the train ride. Students were walking in the corridor and there was a slight feel of panic in the air. By the time the train stopped I had calmed myself down.
I got up and walked out of the train with the crowd. As I was heading towards black carriages that had horse-looking creatures pulling them, I heard my name being called.
"Y/n? Y/n y/l/n is that you?" I turned around to find the source of the voice and saw a curly headed girl staring at me with a shocked look on her face.
"Hermione?" I was taken aback. I hadn't seen this girl in three years. I ran to her and hugged her as she did the same.
"What are you doing here? I haven't seen you since primary school! Wait, you're a witch?" She seemed to be as confused as I was. We were best of friends in primary school before my family and I moved to france. I had no idea that she was a witch.
We hopped on a carriage together and she introduced me to her two friends, a ginger boy named Ron and a black haired boy with glasses, his name was Harry. We spent the whole ride catching up, trying to tell everything that had happened in the three years we hadn't seen each other. I told her how I got a letter from Beauxbatons and how we just recently moved back to London.
I hadn't been this happy in a long time. We were still talking excitedly as we got into the castle. We had to split up as I was instructed to go straight to the deputy headmistresses office to discuss my exchange and house sorting.
"See you at the feast?" Hermione asked
"Definitely!" I smiled as we parted ways.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I knocked on the door and came face to face with a tall and stern-looking woman.
"Come in, y/n y/l/n is it?" The tall woman said.
"Yes professor..."
"McGonagall", She smiled
"Come in and have a seat, please"
She opened the door wider and motioned towards a soft looking cushioned chair. I followed her inside and sat on the chair and felt myself sink into the soft velvet cushions. She followed and sat on a chair opposite me.
"You sent a letter asking us if we could have the sorting arranged privately, am I correct?"
"Yes," I said. I didn't like to be in front of a big crowd and even the thought of being the only third year in the middle of first years made me anxious. I didn't want people looking at me and definitely didn't want people mixing me up with first years.
"It is a tradition that first years get sorted in front of the school with a sorting hat," She started.
I shifted uncomfortably and started nipping away my nail polish nervously.
"But since you're not a first year and there's no other older students coming to Hogwarts this year we might be able to have your sorting arranged privately after the feast."
It felt like a weight had been lifted from my heart, I had never been good in front of big crowds and a private sorting was all I wanted at that moment.
"That would be amazing, thank you." I said.
She smiled down at me and said "Wait in the great hall after the feast ends, i'll help with the sorting"
"Thank you professor McGonagall" I said as I started getting up from my chair.
"No problem Miss y/l/n"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was scanning the tables wondering where I should sit when I spotted Hermione. She met my gaze and smiled at me, motioning me to sit next to her. I walked over and sat down next to her, in front of her friends Harry and Ron. We didn't have the chance to talk much as the headmaster started his speech.
He introduced a new defense against the dark arts teacher and everyone started clapping.
"Of course, that's why he knew to give you the chocolate, Harry" Hermione said to Harry while still clapping. I didn't have a clue of what they were talking about but stayed quiet.
"Potter"
I heard a voice from the table in front of me. It belonged to a platinum blonde boy with blueish-gray eyes and green robes. I seemed to be the only one who noticed him though, so he started again:
"Potter"
Harry and Ron turned around to look at the guy who was calling for Harry.
"Is it true you fainted?" a friend of his put a hand on his forehead and mocked Harry.
"I mean you actually fainted?" he laughed and for a split second I met his cold blue, almost gray eyes.
"Shove off Malfoy" The ginger snapped at him. And they both turned back towards us.
"How did he find out?" Harry muttered while hanging his head.
"Just forget it", Hermione said.
"You fainted? Are you okay?" I asked
"Yeah I'm fine" he replied quickly and I realized he didn't want to talk about it.
"Who was that guy anyway, what's his problem?" I asked
"Draco Malfoy, he'll find any reason to piss us off. He tried to make friends with Harry in our first year and Harry denied. He has held a grudge since " The ginger said
"He's that petty?" I laughed
"It's not just us who dislikes him, he bullies people, mostly muggle born since he's what they call pureblood" Hermione scoffed
The headmaster interrupted our chatting by continuing his speech about the teachers.
Then he got to talking about the creatures in the train, dementors. Whispers were heard throughout the hall. I had to admit, they freaked me out but I knew that I'd be okay as long as I stayed away from them. He finished his speech and so began the dining.
I got to know the two boys in front of me a little better. They both liked playing quidditch, Harry told me he was the Gryffindor seeker and Ron told me about his family and how he plays with his brothers, the ginger was very eager to get to know me as well, Harry on the other hand was less talkative, I figured it was because he still felt bad about fainting.
We had finished eating and Hermione wished me good luck when the trio started heading towards the doors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As every student had left I started thinking of sorting. I wished I'd be in Gryffindor with Hermione. I'm not really that good at making new friends and I'd really love to catch up more with her.
Ron Weasley told me about how he despises the Slytherins and the idea of becoming one didn't sound that tempting. My thoughts wondered and I remembered the blonde boy from earlier. Was he really as bad as they made him be?
My thoughts were interrupted as I saw McGonagall carrying an old, dirty looking hat into the great hall and I got up from my seat and started walking towards her. She motioned me to sit on a chair near the teachers table. She then placed the old hat on my head. To my suprise the hat started talking and moving around.
"Hmm, interesting, very interesting" the hat started.
I felt anxious. What if I didn't make any friends in my new house? What if they were all horrible? What if I got sorted into slytherin? I started thinking about how much I missed my friends back in Beauxbatons when the hat started speaking again:
"Very brave I see, also a lot of ambition.. I think you ought to go in... slytherin!" it yelled.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please let me know if you want a part 2!

Draco Malfoy x Reader: Princess
She had a blood line, a heritage, and a last name that demanded respect. She was at the top of the wizarding totem pole right along with the Malfoys. Her father makes the same exact amount of money as Draco Malfoy's father right down to the knut. However, unlike the Malfoys, they were never associated with the Dark Lord.
Draco and (y/n)'s father had been business partners before the two of them had even been born. Draco and (y/n) met each other at the age of six and it was quite a terrible experience for the both of them.
Neither of them remember exactly what Draco had said, but it was something rude about (y/n)'s hair. It caused her to give him a black eye, chip a tooth, and rip out a couple of tuffs of hair out.
Their fathers had found the whole situation hilarious, but the mothers were speechless. They had to pull the hissing children away from each other before more damage could be done. They ended up laughing the whole thing off a couple of years later and became best friends.
Even though (y/n) was placed in Hufflepuff, it didn't bother Draco at all. He could care less. She was his best friend and nothing could change that.
"How are you Princess?" Draco asked sitting across from (y/n) at the Hufflepuff table. It was the nickname that Draco had given to her after realizing that she possessed so many princess-like qualities. Besides being absolutely stunning, she was wise, kind, humble, and selfless.
"I'm doing good." She grinned back at him taking in his appearance. He was smiling which wasn't rare for (y/n) to see, but it was something that the rest of the castle rarely saw. "I'm super excited for the tournament to get started. I hope Cedric wins."
"I don't care who wins as long as it's not Potter. I still don't understand how he got his name in that goblet. It isn't fair. He shouldn't be allowed to compete." He hissed glaring over at the Gryffindor table where he was sitting surrounded by his friends.
"Why do you despise him so much?" (y/n) questioned cocking her head to the side. "What has he ever done to you?"
Draco opened his mouth to respond, but then he noticed (y/n)'s attention had shifted towards the entrance of the Great Hall.
"Wow. Isn't he perfect." She sighed as Cedric Diggory strutted into the Great Hall. A couple of people started clapping for him. Cedric swaggered among the tables until he passed by (y/n). He sent a quick wink to her before continuing his stroll to his seat.
"What was that?" Draco questioned pale eyebrows raised. He wasn't surprised at all by the attention that (y/n) was getting. She was a very pretty girl. In all honesty, he just wasn't used to her swooning over other guys. Not that he noticed or anything.
"Nothing." She shrugged quickly picking up her mug of coffee and drinking some to hide the blush that was starting to creep across her cheeks. "I think Pansy is starting to get jealous." She pointed out nodding towards the dark hair girl at the Slytherin table.
"You're right. I better get over to her before she storms over here and drags me away." Draco chucked looking over at the glaring Slytherin girl. "See you later Princess."
"Yeah okay Draco." She nodded. "I'll see you later." But Draco noticed that she wasn't even looking at him. Her eyes were focused on Cedric who was sitting a couple of seats down. He couldn't help but notice that Cedric's gaze was kept flicking over towards (y/n).
Draco had always assumed that the feelings he got whenever (y/n) was talking to other guys was because he looked at her as a sister. Lately he was slowly starting to believe it was because of something else. That feeling was jealously.
Little did Draco know, his little Princess and Cedric had been sneaking around for a couple of weeks. Cedric had been wanting to come out public with their relationship, but (y/n) didn't see it as much of a relationship. Just a couple of snogging sessions here and there in empty classrooms along with cuddling in the common room when everyone else had gone to bed. It was just little things like that.
They just had a little fling going on and she wasn't really sure what everyone would say if they found out Cedric, a 7th year, was dating a 5th year. But she was holding off on Cedric because she was secretly hoping that someone else would take notice in her.
When (y/n) had finished eating, she gathered up all her things and started heading to her first class of the morning until she was stopped by the one and only Cedric Diggory.
She couldn't help but keep the giddy smile off of her face. There were a couple of glances as people passed by, but she knew that nobody was going to question anything since they were from the same house.
"Hi Cedric." She grinned up at him. She still couldn't believe that someone like him had taken an interest in her.
"Hey (y/n). I was going to sit with you today, but I noticed you were sitting with your other boyfriend."
"My other boyfriend?" She threw her head back and laughed as if she couldn't believe he was bringing this up. "It's nothing like that Ced and you know it. We've been friends since we were like six. Our dads used to work together."
"You're right." He held his hands up in defense. "I'm sorry that I had gotten a little jealous, but I wanted to ask if you wanted to go to the Yule Ball with me?"
"Wow." (y/n) was rather surprised. "Of course. I would love to."
News traveled very quickly throughout the school that (y/n) was going to the Yule Ball with Cedric. Was Draco jealous? Yes. He was very jealous.
Leading up to the Yule Ball, Draco didn't talk very much to (y/n). They weren't hanging out as much together which really worried (y/n). She was scared of losing her best friend. Did she say something wrong to him?
But what (y/n) didn't know was that Draco had written multiple letters to his mother expressing his feeling for his Princess. His mother explained to him that he was just going to have to explain exactly how he felt towards her if she was someone that he truly wanted.
When the day finally came, (y/n) was excited. She was wearing a gown in her favorite color that she had spent weeks looking for. There was a dance for the champions so she wanted to make sure that she looked her best. Cedric was waiting at the bottom of the steps for her looking stunning.
"Wow. You look absolutely gorgeous." He held out an arm for her to link with his. She took it ginning up at the taller man.
"You look amazing as well." She was grinning from ear to ear. While they were walking towards the Great Hall, everyone's eyes were on them. It was hard to look away. They looked great together. But (y/n) did notice Draco and Pansy off to the corner. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful his Princess looked.
(y/n) felt as if the dance in front of the whole school with Cedric was perfect. Whenever she would spin around, her eyes would so happen to connect with Draco's. It took all that could to just leave Cedric's grasp and march over to him and tell him exactly how she felt about him.
When the dance was over, Cedric took (y/n)'s hand and guided her over to the seats. "I'm going to go get us something to drink."
"Okay. Thank you." (y/n) nodded. But when she noticed he had been gone for a little too long, she saw him standing talking to Cho Chang.
Everyone knew that the two of them used to date, but (y/n) thought that was all over. They were obviously flirting and (y/n) had this sickening feeling that he had just been using her to make Cho jealous.
Before she could throw up all over her dress, she quickly walked outside to get some fresh air. She did everything in her power to keep the tears from falling and ruining her makeup. She dropped onto one of the benches not being able to stop the tears. Her cries became quieter as she heard footsteps approaching her. She didn't want to have to explain to anyone why she was crying.
At least it was just Draco who had found her.
"Hey Draco." She gave him a small smile trying to wipe her tears away before he noticed.
"What's wrong Princess?" He so very wanted to rush over to her and wipe her tears away planting light kisses all over her face until she felt better.
"I think Cedric was just using me to get back at Cho." She shrugged. Draco noticed her bottom lip wobbling and before she could start crying again, he instinctively leaned forward pressing her lips onto him.
It was light and tender, but she loved it. Draco wanted to deepen the kiss, but (y/n) leaned back.
"Isn't your date going to worry where you are?"
"Pansy? I'm sure she's questioning where I am, but she'll be okay." They sat there in silence just enjoying each other's company. (y/n) leaned over placing her head on his shoulder. "I love you Princess."
"I love you too Draco."
"No." He shook his head taking (y/n)'s cheeks in his hands forcing her to look in her eyes. "I'm in love with you Princess. I finally realized that tonight when I saw you dancing with Diggory. And in that moment, I knew that should have been me with you."
(y/n) was in shock. She wasn't sure what to say. She didn't even know how to respond to something like that, but then she stopped thinking. She leaned in and kissed Draco, deepening the kiss this time.
Everything in this moment felt absolutely perfect.
