Follow up from Cheater!!

No mission was worth his love life. Steven really should have planned this better. Not being able to find you anywhere in the building had him worried beyond belief. Was he already too late?

He knew doing this had been a mistake.

A glimpse of your evening wear had Steven stopping in his tracks, swiveling on his heel to begin chasing you down properly. He had to explain himself, he had to try.

It felt like Steven just barely caught your arm in time. Tugging you back to himself gently as possible so as not to hurt you more than he already had.

"[Name], Amor." His arms wrapped around your waist instantly, "Please, what's wrong? Talk to me?"

You turned away, unable to free yourself from his grasp, "This wasn't how I thought our first date after a couple months of work getting in the way to go. And it makes me question a lot."

"It isn't like that, I promise." Steven tried pulling your chin to face him again, "I, I didn't want to..."

"But you did." Your hurt tone pierced Steven like a knife, "You brought me here tonight. I don't know what you were doing, but I know what I saw."

Steven's arms tightened around you, "It... that... I..."

"You can't even give me a straight answer, can you?"

The way Steven was fidgeting with the back of your clothes had you on edge. Either he was thinking of a lie or...

"I shouldn't have brought you to this." Steven sighed, "This wasn't exactly a date date. I needed to be here, to gather information about something for work. That woman was our best chance of catching a highly dangerous group of people."

You could barely think clearly to form a coherent sentence. Steven could barely look you in the eye. But he kept talking, even against his better judgment. It felt like he was digging his own grave with every word.

"You were never in danger here, mind. I would never have done anything like that. But I should have warned you what would happen. What my typical role at work is."

Steven couldn't help but shake, clinging to you loosely with his head down. He almost looked like a small child, knowing he would be in trouble for telling the truth.

"You're right." You finally broke the silence, "You should have told me upfront what was going on here tonight. Instead of framing it like a date."

The way Steven looked at you was just pitiful, like a lost puppy begging for a place to stay. But he didn't argue, he wanted you to be upset with him. Steven knew that if the shoe had been on the foot, if he had seen you with someone else like that... Well, he would have handled it much differently. But he would have been just as deeply upset at the situation.

"I'm not saying it wouldn't have still hurt to see all over some ridiculously attractive woman that I just can't compete with in a million years," You couldn't keep the hurt out of your voice any better now than earlier, "But at least I would have known what was really going on with you and not had to just find you like that on my own."

"Amor," Steven's voice was low with unspilled tears, "You would annihilate a woman like that in every sort of competition, especially when it comes to your looks. She was never any form of threat to how I feel about you."

The blush running rampant across your face was not helping, "Oh? You really think that silver tongue is going to get you out of trouble?"

"Uh, I uh..." Steven flushed a little, faltering at the sadly truthful accusation.

A soft sigh escaped you. It was clear how badly Steven was wrapped around your finger. For now, you could forgive and forget. Though you wouldn't be letting Steven forget to warn you over something like this.

Imposter Syndrome [Leo x Reader]

Imposter Syndrome [Leo X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous ‼️

Leo shuffled into his apartment, almost completely defeated. Today had been rough, this whole week had been one thing after the next, and every day seemed worse and worse. From being outmuscled, outthought, out sped... It was a matter of luck Leo wasn't out of a job.

No matter what Klaus said, everything felt like a fluke. Just a bunch of random things happened and he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Everyone else in Libra had a role, a purpose. Except him, at least that's how it felt.

Klaus; be strong, hit things hard, seal blood breeds. Steven; freeze everything the eye can see, code around anyone that dares to cause trouble, and deliver icy glares to keep everyone in line. Chain, Zapp, Zed, Sonic, Dog and Deldro, even you had your part to play in Libra. But Leo? He felt his only job was to get thrown around like a football.

He should have felt better, sitting next to you on the bed. He should be able to push these feelings down. But they kept nagging at him, threatening to burst right out. Compounding with his worst fears, especially that you'd leave. You'd see him for the weak, useless fraud that he is and then you'd be gone.

Feeling his head being poked backward, Leo waved his arms for stability.

"You seem... distracted." You said, "Everything okay?"

That was all it took, a little genuine concern...

"Honestly? No." Leo stared down at his hands, "I know you'll tell me that I'm wrong about all this but... I've just, I've been feeling like I'm useless around the office."

Despite the pause, you merely tilted your head at Leo. Knowing that he often dealt with Zapp calling him names, with all the things people told him about his eyes, the weight of what happened to him and his sister, even the mere fact that he often was sitting on the sidelines. You knew what Leo went through on a daily basis, that it was only a matter of time before he would have to vent.

And listening was your specialty.

"It's just!" Leo couldn't help but stand abruptly, "Everyone else has something they do. And I'm just there. Why was even allowed in Libra if all I was gonna do was stand around watching everything!? I should be able to do more than this but I... I'm!"

Leo sat with a defeated sigh, "Every time I think I have even a little bit of something to do... It's always because of my eyes. And I get that was the main reason Klaus hired me in the first place, but... I feel like I could be giving so much more."

You just sat there, milling over what to say. Letting Leo get as much of this off his chest as possible. His hand swept his hair back, before the brown fluff just settled back into its natural, messy look.

"I just... I'm tired of being so much weaker than everyone else." Leo laid back on the bed, arms spread out, "It feels like no matter what I do, I'll always be stuck here. Michella lost her sight because of me. When I joined Libra, Klaus got seriously injured on my behalf. And ever since, I've barely been more help than a fancy telescope. Or maybe a really fancy camera, if you wanna get technical."

This time Leo really was finished talking. His inner turmoil didn't seem as important now that he said it all out loud. Maybe he should have kept quiet and pretended to be okay. He shouldn't burden you with--

"I don't see it that way at all." You broke the stretching silence, "Sure, you aren't physically strong, but that doesn't really matter much."

Leo sat up, frowning, "Our job is literally saving the world at a moment's notice [Name]. No offence, but I should be physically strong for that kind of thing."

"But you didn't save Will by hitting him hard." You turned, "You did that by talking to him, or was it to his sister? I don't fully remember how that went down..."

"It was kinda both..." Leo admitted sheepishly, "And it wasn't like I did anything special. Anyone could have--"

"No, it was special." You cutting anyone off? Was Leo dreaming? "You had a friendship with them after all. It was something only a good friend could have done. Believe me, Klaus would have definitely tried talking first. And you see how well that worked for him."

He looked away a little, scratching the back of his head.

"And I doubt Michella thinks you've failed her at all." You continued, "She knows she can rely on you to know right from wrong. She knows you'll always do what you think is the right thing to do and given your gut instincts... it's usually the best thing to do."

Leo felt like his head was spinning, in a good way. You rarely talked so much, let alone bringing up things like morality and such.

You focused on your hands, finding it easier to talk toward them instead, "Besides, it's not like you're completely useless around the office. You're really good at making friends, and making people feel welcomed or seen. In a good way. You kinda just have a certain... charm? air? thing about you that even someone like me can just exist and not feel judged or have any sort of expectation outside of being friends."

A slight pause, "Though I guess that kinda went a little further than just friends in my case. But its not like that's it either."

"[Name]..."

"I mean, who else in the office can really see a set of blueprints and notice the pattern was from a movie? You have a lot of niche talents that don't always shine through right away. I mean, you were the only one small enough to pilot that tiny helicopter. Even Chain was having problems. And she can phase through stuff!"

You stopped, not sure where all you were really going with this. Until Leo rested his hand over yours.

"You're a lot cooler than you think Leo." You finally looked back up at him, "And a lot more needed. Even if no one else can see it, even if you can't see it yourself. I always see just how amazing you are."

Frozen Blood [Steven x Reader]

Frozen Blood [Steven X Reader]

It put Steven on edge to be so deep in the pits of the Eternal Hollow, but saving you from your own kind was the top priority right now. Why the blood breeds were being so active had everyone on edge. No one knew what happened, no one knew what to expect. When a large, muscular blood breed just kidnapped you in front of Libra, everyone threw their best at the beast.

But it wasn't enough.

Now the eerily quiet, blood-soaked walls of the inner sanctum of a massive blood breed castle served to put everyone from Klaus to Leo to even Zapp on nervous edge.

"Christ, it's like a damn boss fight room." Zapp was just trying to fill the air with something, "How do we know this wasn't all a trap? I mean [Na-"

"[Name] wouldn't betray us like that." It was the closest Klaus came to snapping at anyone, "They were abducted against their will. You saw it clearly as the rest of us."

Steven kept his mouth shut. If it weren't for Klaus being so adamantly stubborn about your innocence, Steven would have likely killed Zapp long before now. He wasn't in a proper head space to think rationally, not with you in danger.

Or at least, he thought you were in danger. There was a nagging feeling that this was just a giant trap. Not one you were trying to be part of, no. Just that you were the clear bait for Libra to found here all at once. It only made Steven more desperate to find you.

A chorus of dark laughter caught everyone's attention, "So, you would risk it all for a single member, eh? What fools."

Hearts sank as everyone prepared for the worst. They should have known this would become a trap. But Klaus would never let a single comrade go through this alone.

"Forgive me," Klaus was never the first to be rude but, "The only fools are those who mess with our kind."

The laughter that followed Klaus's words made Steven's blood run cold, "Your kind? You can't possibly mean to tell me you think of [Real Name] as a fang hunter?"

"Of course they're a fang hunter!" Steven snarled into the shadows, "You don't know a thing about them!"

"We know they're weak. That they chose to be weak and ally themselves as a traitor."

A heavy sounding door slid open, a mass of limbs tossed out. The figure hit the ground with a sickening splat. Steven's heart seemed to freeze over, that was you. All broken and bloody, looking as if you'd been ripped apart by wild dogs.

The pure, unfiltered rage Steven felt caused him to shake, violently. He would make these creatures pay with their tainted souls for what they did to you. It didn't matter how many he had to fight.

"They're not going to be--"

"Enough Zapp!" Leo smacked the silver-haired man in the back, "[Name] would never turn on us and you know it."

Despite the heavy wounds that weren't healing over, you stood. Steven wanted to rush to your side, but he still had to be sure you wouldn't attack.

Family Surprises [Klaus x Reader]

Family Surprises [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 🥳

Klaus just couldn't help himself, skirting around the back of the car to open your car door for you. Part of his actions were spurred on by wanting to keep up "appearances" for his parents, partly spurred on by his own desires to be a gentleman, and partly because you were pregnant with a second little baby; thought the bump wasn't showing just yet. Though Klaus hadn't accounted for little baby Mina to undo her own buckles; even if it did take her a few tries before climbing over you to get to Papa first.

It was all taken in stride however. Klaus straightened up, Mina clinging to the edge of his vest as he offered you a hand out of the vehicle. Once you were on your feet, Klaus slipped his arm around your waist. Gently and lovingly supporting you as best he could on the walk up to his childhood home. It wasn't often that he had enough free time from work to visit his parents, though they had not let that stop them from offering a hundred times to pay the fare to see their baby boy and his darling family.

You teased Klaus about this simply because he couldn't accept compliments very well without looking like a Christmas light. Despite the blatant open affection, both of Klaus's parents seemed absolutely delighted to see you again. The last time was during a visit shortly after Mina's first birthday, where they spoiled the baby girl with toys and plushies.

As soon as Mina saw where she was... "Grammy! Grampy!"

She tried wiggling out of Klaus's grip. Forcing both of you to stop, given that Klaus was not letting go of you for anything if he could help it; so that your giant teddy bear of a husband could set Mina down properly. Since this was private property, and the sheer number of trained combat butlers and maids on the premise, Klaus felt it was perfectly fine to let Mina run towards his parents.

A little two-year-old toddling away as fast as her little legs could carry her, right into Grammy Reinherz's arms for a tight hug.

"Oh sweetie, Enkelin Shatzi!" Mama Reinherz couldn't contain her grinning, nor would she try, "How nice to see you again! My you've grown so much!"

Papa Reinherz had to stoop a little, but gently patted little Mina's back as a tiny smile crept across his face. As you and Klaus neared, all that could be heard was Mina's little baby babbling, explaining what she did before the flight. Though Papa Reinherz's attention slowly diverted to the two of you.

"Grüße, mein Kinder." His voice was so very deep, you couldn't help but wonder if his vocal cords would snap, "How was your flight?"

"It went well, Vater." Klaus nodded, "Mina was a little frightened when we took off. Though [Name] soothed her fears rather quickly."

"Gute, Gute." He nodded, "And how are you [Name]?"

You smiled a little, extra formal and extremely polite was just how Klaus's family was, "I'm fine. Though we do have some news, maybe it would be best to tell everyone? Assuming the rest of Klaus's siblings are here?"

That caught Mama Reinherz's attention in a heartbeat, "Oh [Name] Liebe, why didn't you say so sooner? Come, come!"

You wondered if saying it like that had told both of Klaus's parents everything too soon, but given that you were soon sitting in the large den and being served tea... Well, this was as good a time as any. Especially with all of Klaus's family in the room. So many nieces, nephews, cousins, and siblings all in one place and there was still room for a small party of 30.

Klaus was a teeny bit nervous about this reveal, uncertain how his family would actually be about this. Certainly, they would be congratulatory about having another child. But would they think the two of you were going too fast? Would they think poorly of you two? Or would Klaus and Gilbert be unloading a little too much at home?

"I'm pregnant again." You were more nervous because of how intensely focused everyone was, Klaus squeezed your hand gently, "We don't know the gender quite yet since I'm not out of the first trimester."

Mama Reinherz looked like she was just told that Christmas came early. Klaus's two sisters had similar looks on their faces, though his father and brothers had much less of a reaction. You could practically see the party planning itself, knowing that you, Klaus, and Mina wouldn't return home until the party was thrown.

All the little children stopped in their tracks to look at the adults. Mama Reinherz was glowing, slipping back and forth between German and English as she bounced around planning a baby shower with Head Maid Bates taking notes. Klaus wanted to try stopping his mother and sisters from planning all this, though his father shook his head slightly. This was an inevitability, best to just let this happen.

"And of course, little Mina can't be left out!" Mama Reinherz lifted the giggly little girl up, "A nice little party for her as well to avoid leaving her out!"

There was really no stopping your mother-in-law. Though you couldn't stay longer than 15 days, Klaus would get too nervous being away from work longer than that. Not that his family would let that stop them from doing as much as possible and following the three of you with these parties if need be.

Trust? [Klaus x Reader]

Trust? [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 🧥

Klaus wished he knew why his crush was always so skittish about her coat, but the fact that he couldn't even talk to her for more than a few seconds meant that tiny detail seemed to slip his mind often. He had very little reason to suspect that she was a selkie, it never came up in normal conversation. Though the number of passes Zapp made toward her was worrying.

At the very least you seemed to trust Klaus enough to leave your coat unguarded within the office. Though given how protective you were over it otherwise had Klaus tucking it safely within the closet. Somewhere Zapp never looked due to Steven threatening him one too many times during winter whilst Zapp was plotting various pranks. Mostly meant for Leonardo or Zed, though it wasn't hard to believe Steven when he claimed Zapp would mess with everyone's coats.

You froze when you walked back into the office. You could have sworn you left your coat right on the edge of the couch. The only person in here was Klaus, maybe Gilbert, and Steven. But none of them would touch your coat. None of them had a reason to.

Hearing so many doors opening and closing, Klaus felt the panic you were displaying. Did this have to do with your coat? Klaus finally managed to get your attention.

Catching your arm gently, "[Name]? Is everything okay?"

"I can't find my coat." Tears were rising in your voice, Klaus felt horrible for daring to assist in keeping your coat safe, "I know I left it right here though."

"I moved it into the closet." Klaus looked away guiltily, "I didn't want to risk Zapp returning before you did and messing with it."

That look of relief across your face nearly broke Klaus. He still didn't have the faintest clue about why you'd be like this over a simple article of clothing...

"[Name]," He turned to you as you grabbed your coat, "If you don't mind. Why is your coat so important to you?"

You froze, "I... I'm just... I know its silly, but... I'm terrified of being stuck in my human form."

"H-human form?" Klaus blinked rapidly, "You... you aren't human?"

As much as he wanted to take back how rude that sounded, you shook your head slowly. Pulling your coat tightly around your shoulders, a slight glow overtaking your body. When Klaus could see clearly once more, he was shocked to see a grey seal in the middle of the office. Even more so when you shed your coat, taking your human form again.

"See, my mother was tricked into marrying a human because he stole her coat." You toyed with the edge of your coat, "It was a few years after I was born, and while I am used to living in a human form..."

Klaus felt his heart drop slightly. While he didn't pity you, he still wanted to apologize for everything. Despite not doing anything wrong in the first place.

You shook your head, "It's a silly fear, I know. But I still don't want to be stuck like this. Not without a choice in the matter."

"I don't believe it to be a silly fear." Klaus interrupted, "I truly think it's a wholly reasonable fear. I apologize for causing you such distress, even without knowing I shouldn't have moved your coat without permission. Or greater cause than a possibility."

A small adorable giggle caught Klaus off guard. Looking at you with the tiniest of blushes rising on his cheeks, he didn't know what to do.

"Did- did I say something humorous?"

"No, I just." You smiled at him, relieved you could trust him some, "I'm pretty sure this is the most you've ever spoken to me before. Then again, without Steven around..."

Klaus covered his mouth, turning away. Even his large hands couldn't hide the bright red dusting his cheeks.

Disaster Struck [Head Cannon]

Disaster Struck [Head Cannon]

Requested by @oo00oo00ooooo 👮‍♀️

Klaus x Police Lieutenant - Married (fem)

Klaus meeting your eyes as the dust settles, worry over your safety more prominent than the destruction around him

You holding Daniel by the collar while he rants at Klaus and Steven

^That one leg kicking and stomping with all his might as you just draaaaaaaag him away

That large gift basket Klaus sends as an apology, just full of goodies because he knows you're going to be pulling late nights

And yes, he did add a few things Daniel likes specifically to soften the blow

Klaus just sitting and listening as you calmly rant about how long reconstruction is taking and how many people are yelling at you about this

Yes he has apologized at length about losing control

No matter how many times you remind him the worst of it was the fire damage (and probably the debris of whatever Aligula built or whatever Femt made to chew on the city)

Just casually smacking Daniel with a newspaper when he gets too loud over the phone (he's yelling at Steven about paperwork but the whole precinct doesn't need to hear all this)

Having to carefully file reports to make the brunt of the damage come off as collateral from the chaos itself rather than the help

Twisting Daniel's ear until he agrees to keep his mouth shut because he knows how important Libra is to the police force as a whole and that blaming them or arresting them would kneecap the whole city

Daniel grumbling and growling because you're right like always

Klaus just trying to convince you against doing things like that, to no avail because even he can't argue against you and your truth

Daniel being a grouch the morning after an all nighter of paperwork, grumbling as Klaus and Steven walk up to join you and swap papers

Kicking Daniel (and Steven on accident, oops) for grumbling too much ["Listen here Oscar, no one can understand you."]

Klaus trying not to snicker because Steven is being just as grouchy

That quick little tight hug before you go your separate ways for the day (whether that be back to work or home for some rest)
