New Queen [Klaus x Elizabeth Bathory Reader]

New Queen [Klaus X Elizabeth Bathory Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 👹

Fearing the worst and all but convinced this young woman in his arms was to be another victim to the blood breeds who owned this cursed land, Klaus lifted you. Deeply concerned by how limp and pale you were, worried he might be too late to save you from the curse.

And yet, none of the previously hostile blood breeds dared to attack. The situation suggested that Klaus had someone they valued, whom they couldn't attack for whatever reason. The fact that all the blood breeds were also female perplexed Klaus, but now wasn't the time for thinking nor discussing... now was the time to escape.

.

Waking in a very unfamiliar building, you blinked slowly. The weight of chains against your wrists, the cold metal around your ankles set your mind on a frenzy. With no idea who you were, let alone where you were, there was little for you to do except shrink at the sound of a door opening. The tall, intimidating figure of a man silhouetted in the doorway, his shadow stretched inward, just barely reaching you.

If only because you had retreated as far into the corner as you could.

The first footfall, a soft scraping noise of leather on concrete had you trembling as the man entered. Though his entire form seemed to soften, a deep-ish voice spoke softly though firmly.

"You aren't in any immediate danger." He lifted a single hand, palm up as he approached, "I merely need you to answer a few questions for me."

Swallowing a hard lump of fear, "I-I... I don't even know my own name though..."

Klaus froze on the spot, staring down at your trembling form. He had a rather clear view of your face, the wildly frightened look tore at his heart. He hadn't been expecting this at all. But he couldn't bear keeping you in this state.

Kneeling beside you, upset by how you kept trying to get away from him, "Please, hold still. Allow me to unlock your chains. You aren't in any danger."

Gently rubbing where the shackles had been, you hesitated. Still looking up at the man, noticing his green eyes... and his large fangs...

You weren't entirely sure you could trust him.

.

Days blended into weeks and then into months as you tried to remember something, anything about your past. Just the tiniest detail about who you were and why these things kept tracking you down. While you learned to trust Klaus, and the rest of Libra, there wasn't much any of you could do to piece together your long-forgotten past.

The creatures stalking you, Klaus called them blood breeds even going as far as to say they were roughly synonymous with vampires. But the reason why they wanted you of all people eluded you, and none of them wanted to speak around Libra.

Which meant your constant bodyguards, usually Klaus, was lowkey keeping you from finding out anything.

But given that you had no idea what these creatures wanted you for in the first place... or what significance you posed among them, it was far too risky. After all, they could want you dead... or as a sacrifice. It felt like a half-and-half situation.

.

But all the protection in the world couldn't stop these blood breeds. They moved as a pack of lionesses, one target one prey. One chance to attack.

Klaus could hardly keep up. He wasn't merely protecting an innocent anymore, he was protecting his lover. And he would never allow these monsters to take his beloved away, not like this. Even as he slumped in front of you, the only barrier shielding you from their fangs, Klaus didn't relent.

Rushing to his side, you tried to help steady the red-haired hulk of a man. Only to have his arm curl backward around you, protective to the bitter end if he had to be. In an act of desperation you yelled at the creatures attacking.

"Why are you after me?" The panic in your voice wasn't fear of them, not at the moment, "Why are you doing this?"

The coven, weary of upsetting their queen stepped back. Murmurs flew between scarcely parted lips and fangs, it was nearly impossible to hear what they were saying. But the words 'memory loss' rang through your ears, confusing you further.

"Milady, are you saying you don't recognize us?" The tallest of the group stepped forward, all malice gone, "That you need to be reminded?"

Scanning their still faces, looks of concern and confusion dawning across everyone, you nodded slowly. Klaus wasn't so sure about trusting them or anything they might say. It could all be a ploy to take you, make you one of their sacrifices after all.

"Don't trust them [Name]." Klaus attempted to stand, but his leg wasn't cooperating, "We can't be sure that they will tell you the truth."

"Silence dog." One of the younger looking ones hissed, "We would never-"

"Don't talk to him like that." You didn't even know if you could make demands like this, but so far... "Especially in front of me."

The one who spoke out gulped, nodding vigorously as she shrank into the coven's ranks. Something didn't fully add up here. They acted like you were a queen of sorts.

At least, it didn't make sense until the eldest, and tallest-looking one started speaking.

"Back when blood breeds were first created in this dimension, it was through dark magic. A pure corruption of the soul that allowed a body to persist after death if the right conditions were met."

You glanced at Klaus, but he didn't know if any of this was true either.

"In those days, blood breeds could be killed through lack of blood, sunlight, garlic, stakes through the heart, even something as simple as a silver bullet." She spoke like a singer, her voice light as the summer breeze, "In those days, one woman became known as the Vampire Queen. A Romanian woman by the name of Elizabeth Bathory. Though she didn't become a blood breed herself, she cultivated them."

Neither of you liked where this story was headed, though the rest of the coven were starry-eyed.

"She cultivated us. And through her guidance, teaching us various subjects and magic, we became her loyal vampires." The way you were being looked sent chills up your spine, "All we had to do, was give her a little bit of our blood. And the rest was easy."

Klaus chewed his words carefully, not wanting to start another fight, "Hasn't Elizabeth Bathory been dead for quite some time? Wouldn't you be looking for her descendants?"

"No," The blood breed seemed proud of herself, "For our Mistress asked one other small favor. She refused to become a blood breed herself, instead asking us to ensure she lived on in a mortal body."

You shrank under the eyes swiveling in your direction, "And our latest attempt was... unfortunately a little botched. But no matter, we can always reeducate our queen. Until her life span runs its course."

Coat tales and Frocks [Klaus x Reader]

Coat Tales And Frocks [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 📚

Every breath hurt you physically, the gash in your side wasn't very deep... yet. But you couldn't let your guard down. The wolves might have retreated, but the beast you caught a glimpse of was much larger than any wolf.

Snow crunched beneath your boots, heavy spear clutched tight as you leaned against a medium-sized tree. This could not be your last hunting trip, you refused to be bested like this. Doing your utmost to set a trap for the creature, even as your mind raced along with its swift footfalls. The snow hardly crunched, despite its massive size.

Your attempt to swipe with your spear proved futile. The wood splintered in the beast's massive paw. It towered over you, fangs glinting in the late afternoon sun. But your feet slipped from under you, an unspotted drop-off in the woods having become your true downfall.

.

Klaus was nervously pacing around outside the room where he'd placed the visitor. They seemed to be gravely injured and frightened, it was only natural. Massive paws wrung themselves over and over again, his worry only building as the moments ticked by and a trail of short fur left in his wake.

He was fully aware of how monstrous he looked, how you must've seen him whilst your senses were on survival. But Klaus couldn't very well leave an injured person out in the snow. Even if they were a hunter who tried taking swings at him.

It was Steven who tried to calm the large beast-man first, Gilbert was the one busy tending the wound after all. Though how effective it was to have a suit of armor comforting one was debatable. Soft clanks followed the near-silent footfalls of the massive beast-man.

"You've done everything you could for them." A hollow voice doing its best to be soft created a weird echo, "Why you felt the need to bring them here however, I'll never know. They attacked you after all."

Klaus frowned a tiny bit, "They were already grievously injured from the wolves Steven. I couldn't leave them out in the snow in such a state."

"They very nearly spilled your blood in the process."

Ignoring the bandage over his own paw, the tiniest pinpricks of blood from wooden splinters were hardly comparable to a deep cut. At least, Klaus thought it was a deep cut, he couldn't look at the wound for too long with how blood was dripping down your side.

Peeking in to see you passed out as Gilbert hobbled out of the guest room, Klaus barely relaxed. At the very least you seemed to be peacefully asleep, but how long would that last?

"They are perfectly fine Master Klaus." The voice of a coat rack was not a very loud one to be sure, "Their wound was not nearly as deep as it first appeared, only seeming that way due to the heavy amount of fabrics they were wearing for insulation."

Finally able to relax, Klaus couldn't stop shaking. He didn't know what to do at this point. You would most definitely have questions, but how was he to answer? How would you respond to seeing such a monster as him walking around a castle like this?

Would you even believe his story?

.

The pain in your side was only matched by the throbbing headache as you sat up. Scanning the room you were in only showed an exquisite bedroom, light blues accented with pearly white lining and soft metallic swirls in silver and gold. Either you were dead, or someone had rescued you.

Given the pain you were in, you could only assume you were in a safe place.

Yet the first thing you noticed as you eased from under the covers was your lack of clothing. Only a light nightshirt and what had to be cotton shorts covered your body, which meant someone had to have taken your gear. Where to you couldn't be sure, it wasn't in the room with you though.

A few wobbly steps were all you could manage before a loud clang outside the door made you jump. A feminine voice with a very odd hollow wood sound confused you. Could a human actually make that kind of noise? And what did they mean by stop pushing the teapot? Wouldn't... wouldn't they be carrying it?

Apparently not as a large wooden cart wheeled itself into the room, sporting a small tea tray and...

Why did the cart have a face?

Rubbing your eyes, clearly still dreaming or hallucinating, you peered at the cart hoping beyond hope that the bright blue eyes staring back at you would disappear.

"What do you want, huh?" It barked in a rather 'fight me' tone of voice, "Never seen someone with- OW! What the f&*k was that for!?"

"Hush Zapp." The wooden dish holder had used one of its... her... legs to smack the cart itself, "Poor dear probably doesn't know much about magic at all. And certainly wouldn't be able to tell you were ever a human."

"Hey!" Was... was the cart's name Zapp? "I'll have you know I'm the epitome of a human. And this big shot hunter couldn't do jack!"

"They injured Klaus better than you ever could." Why... why didn't that fork open its eyes? Clearly, it was part of this... magic, "Meanwhile all you can do is run over toes, and that's still more than what you used to do as a human."

You felt the need to raise your hand, if only to get their attention.

"Uh, what's going on? Who... Who are all of you?"

The dish holder seemed to brighten up, though she only had one eye from what you could tell, "Well, I'm K.K. I was one of the advisors of the court. Zapp here was only a guard in training and this little bugger is Leo. He was a squire, until... well he currently serves the cook but that's only because of the curse put on the castle."

K.K. seemed capable of going on for hours. And she did, to your detriment as you couldn't understand half of what she said. She spoke too fast and your head was still throbbing, only marginally helped by the tea and sandwiches the three of them brought in. What little you could understand was that there were no humans here, only sentient objects and this 'Klaus' person.

You wondered vaguely if Klaus was the creature from the woods. But then... why would he bring you here? You did attack first, even if it was in fear and adrenaline.

But you couldn't do much about it now. Despite having woken up, and being attended by chatty helpers, it was still very late at night. All the pain you still suffered from wasn't going to let you wander around the castle... who knows how fast you'd get lost.

Though you didn't register any movement from beyond the door, Klaus had been listening in. Not trying to eavesdrop entirely, more so concerned for your health. And delighted to hear K.K.'s explanation of how much you were already capable of moving around on your own.

Not that Klaus would try to stop you from doing anything, he was just relieved that your injuries weren't that serious.

.

Armed with the most basic knowledge, and a fresh set of clothes, you finally ventured outside the room. You felt much better compared to last night and while the clothes did fit... they really weren't your style. But you were in no position to complain, you were a guest after all.

Eyes scanning every nook and cranny of the castle, looking for the objects with faces. Knowing that the ones without faces couldn't even move and secretly trying to catch a glimpse of some other humanoid form in the castle. You were blindsided by a small, white monkey looking creature smacking you in the face with its tiny paws.

Raising an eyebrow at the tiny thing, you closed your eyes at the waving of paper so close to your face. But the scribbles on the scrap of paper seemed to be a map of sorts. And kind of an invite? Showing you where the dining room was and asking you to arrive post-haste.

The small monkey stayed perched on your shoulder as you walked, pointing you in the correct direction whenever you stopped to check the little hand-drawn map. Though it didn't take too long for you to find the dining room at all. Glancing all around for some trance of this Klaus person, or really anyone at all. You'd settle for the rude cart with a face at this point because this castle felt empty.

"Ah, my apologies."

You turned to see a hulking, almost blood-red beast stoop into the room using a door opposite you, almost directly across the table from where you were standing. Even squinting, you couldn't be sure if this was the same beast from the other day. There was something... off about how he looked now versus how he looked then.

Or maybe it was just the blood you lost that day. Who knows?

"Please, allow me to introduce myself." He half bowed, swishing an equally large tail, "I'm Klaus von Reinherz. A once high-ranking nobleman and owner of this castle. I understand that Madam K.K., Leonardo, and Zapp have already made your acquaintance."

The small monkey on your shoulder squeaked at the large beast-man.

"Ah yes, and Sonic as well." He was keeping a straight face this whole time, it was a little creepy. Even if he did have fangs as long as your forearm, you thought he'd attempt a smile, "My apologies Sonic."

"Uh, so... Were you the one who I swung at in the woods?" You hesitated to move forward, or move at all as every fiber of your being screamed at you to run, "Because you both do and don't seem familiar."

"Yes I am." He stepped forward, going right past several chairs and straight for you, "Though I do not hold you accountable for the incident. I wholly understand the complexity of the situation."

Every step he took only made you want to run more, but he stopped at a chair right beside the edge of the table. As if he could sense how you were feeling, in spite of how perfectly still you were standing.

"Well, that and you were worryingly injured. I mistook the wound for a deep one. Though I am relieved that it wasn't so." Reaching for you with one massive paw, "Might I know with whom I am speaking?"

You tried with all your might not to look like a scared rabbit as you glanced at the paw being held out to you. What was it that he wanted? Other than your name... Were you supposed to follow him? Give him your hand? Was he just being friendly?

His paw wasn't stretched out to shake your hand, not when his palm was turned completely up. Gathering what little sense you had...

"I'm [Name]. From the village just north of here." Maybe you didn't sound too frightened, but then again, "I don't mean to be a burden. I promise I'll take off as soon as I'm able."

Were you imagining things or did he look defeated when you said that?

"Ah, yes. Of course. No rush, naturally." His paw retreated, "Please, don't try to force your recovery. You're free to stay here as long as you'd like."

There was something... lonely about Klaus. You weren't sure about staying, or even about leaving. But it felt as if he wanted you to stay, perhaps as a companion. Though he likely wouldn't actually say it out loud. Even with the people who were here with him, they were all below him in rank. You were too, just not under a curse.

But upon realizing that, your whole body relaxed. You still had more questions than answers, but for now you weren't afraid of the monstrous man in front of you. Just a little concerned about the weather outside.

.

Weeks flew by, your injury healed in no time it seemed. And the other people here were all staff to Klaus. Though you were told how Klaus was initially cursed.

"A few years ago a fairy entered the castle on Master Klaus's birthday." Gilbert shook out the laundry little by little as he spoke, "It wasn't uncommon for fae of all sort to attend such events after all. Though she didn't have a gift Master Klaus wanted."

You watched the tall coat rack doing laundry. It was mesmerizing to see, if a little janky compared to how others moved around.

"She offered Master Klaus her hand in marriage. Which he refused in the kindest way possible. Attempting to explain that he couldn't marry a woman, not even a fae woman that he didn't truly love." Gilbert couldn't bend over to grab the basket, or the little bit of clothes still left inside. So you reached over to help, "Ah thank you. Yes, where was I?"

"Hm, and of course the fairy didn't like that answer in the slightest. She cursed Master Klaus and his house. Thusly turning myself and the rest of the staff into furniture, and Master Klaus into a large beast so that until he finds someone who can truly love him as he is, we are all stuck like this."

You ruminated on that for a while. Was it possible that Klaus was getting his hopes up? That he was trying to fall in love with you? There wasn't much you two had in common after all, not with you being from a poor village that sent hunters and warriors off to spare them living such a barren town.

And especially with you having taken a swing at Klaus, it didn't seem fair to be the one he would try to fall for.

Or maybe he was just plain lonely and wanted a little company. This was a large castle, sure it was nice but it was so empty. The books in the library had likely been read all the way through at least once. Leaving only the gardening and baking that Klaus often left to do. He never once forced his company onto you either. He would offer, ask if you'd join him for things, but never outright say you had to do anything with him.

.

It was still snowing like crazy. You'd never seen a blizzard this bad before, not this late into spring anyways. Klaus hesitated to approach you, he knew that look. The way you were staring out the window was all too telling. You were getting bored of this place, bored of him...

Klaus shook his head. The two of you hardly really talked. There were so few topics the two of you could properly discuss given the distance between your lives and upbringings. Of course you'd want to leave, you felt like you didn't belong here.

But Klaus couldn't just stand by and watch you be bored. Gathering what courage he could, he walked up behind you.

"Ah, pardon me, [Name]?" One tentative claw tapped your shoulder, "Would you be interested in joining me for tea?"

You barely even jumped at the sight of a claw over your shoulder, knowing it was just Klaus.

"Sure, why not."

Klaus held up both paws in surrender, "You don't have to, I assure you it- I..."

"I don't mean to sound so blaize about it." You looked up into his bright green eyes, "I just..."

Klaus followed your gesture out the window. His heart sank a little, knowing what you meant and what clear skies would mean in the long run.

"Do... do you miss home?"

You blinked for a few seconds, trying to really think about why you wanted to leave. Technically you had everything you needed right here. But it just didn't feel right to stay with Klaus like this, not when you felt like a burden rather than a guest.

"I-- I don't mean to pry! I just--"

"It's not that I miss home, I just..." You sighed, looking at the floor, "We both know I don't really belong here. That I'm only here because you're a good person. And I just don't feel right taking advantage of that."

You paused, "What I mean is. It really does feel like I'm taking advantage of you."

Instinct took over as Klaus's paws enveloped your hands, drawing them half way up his chest.

"[Name], of course you aren't!" He subconsciously took a step forward, "I truly don't mind your staying here. I enjoy your company, honest! I know we don't have much to talk about but you are more than welcome to stay here as long as you'd like. Maybe even come back for a visit if the weather permits."

Klaus kept rambling about how you weren't a burden, but your mind wandered. If you ever did leave, would you come back? Sure, Klaus was nice but did you really want to come back? Everything was so confusing to you. And you definitely didn't belong in this world of finery and fancy things.

But his paws were very soft and warm, he was very nice and you were comfortable in his presence. It would be a nice to visit... if it wasn't for the fact that he was a royal. That was the only thing that you had any kind of problem with. How very different your worlds were from one another.

"Klaus."

He fell silent instantly, worried he'd said too much. But really you had zoned out...

"I've gotta ask. Why are you so insistent about me coming back?" You tilted your head up at him, "You're right. We haven't talked much at all, we don't share the same interests, we don't even come from the same background. As far as I can tell we don't have anything in common, not even what we want out of life. So why ask me to return if there wouldn't be any real point?"

Klaus's mouth felt dry. Should he be honest? Would the truth be selfish of him? After all, you were correct about most of that. Though Klaus felt one truly deep conversation would clear up most of the uncertainty surrounding you staying here to begin with.

He didn't want you to leave at all...

"I have not thought that far ahead." He shuffled sheepishly, finally letting go of your hands, "I only know that I enjoy your company and would like to know that you would come back for a visit some time."

"And if I said I couldn't? If I would rather travel the world and find something else to do with my life?"

Klaus's eyes widened, but not out of fear, "You... if that's truly what you wanted. I wouldn't attempt to stop you. I could never do such a thing. But... I..."

Scratching the back of his head with one massive paw, Klaus struggled to just say what he wanted. How nice that idea sounded. Even if he was stuck in this beastly form, to travel the world and see sights beyond this castle would be phenomenal. At least to him...

"You would probably get on with the life you were meant to have." You sighed, "Parties and nobles and sparkly things."

Klaus opened his mouth to explain, but you unintentionally cut him off.

"I would just get in the way of all that."

"No you wouldn't." He hesitated to reach out for you again, "I meant that I wouldn't be able to stop you from travelling. In all honesty, going and seeing the world sounds like a glorious adventure. One I would very much like to go on myself."

Klaus couldn't handle looking into your eyes, "Though I wouldn't want to press my company upon you. As much as I would like to travel, I doubt I would be the best for a world as harsh as the elements."

As much as you wanted to tell Klaus he was welcome to come with, you weren't so sure about that yourself. It wasn't a matter of skills or anything, but this was the first thing either of you could agree on. And it was just a dumb example of why you might not return to the castle for a visit, you weren't entirely sure you would travel at all.

But Klaus seemed certain.

.

The weather outside finally calmed down enough to wander the castle grounds, though the light snowfall was still a little odd for Spring. But stretching your legs outside felt so much better, especially once you allowed yourself to talk to your host.

Spending most meals and the occasional tea break just chatting about everything you could think of proved to be more enjoyable than the awkward silences you'd been forcing. Realizing Klaus wasn't at all like any other noble you'd been in the company of.

And not just because the poor man was lonely.

He was a little less inclined to show his emotions, like most other nobility, but he was also much more self-conscious and self-aware than his peers. Striving to actually be kind to his staff, to the people he was supposed to rule over.

It was quite the shock to learn that your village was part of his territory. Just as Klaus was shocked to hear the land had passed onto a different noble not remotely related to his family.

The way you acted around him was far more justified with the horror stories you recounted about other nobles being downright cruel.

Though you still weren't sure about why you were still here. Yes the weather had you otherwise trapped, due to the snow beyond the gates being far too thick to pry the doors open; but you also weren't too sure about the whole 'breaking the curse' thing.

Were you really the right person for the job? Was this fair to Klaus? He barely knew anyone and you just happened to be the first person he's met in a long while. Was that really enough?

.

Klaus was having problems containing the smile on his face. Running around the courtyard like that had been invigorating, downright exhilarating. Though he was still a gentleman, helping you shake off your heavy coat and steadying you as you tugged off snow boots.

This didn't quite feel like love, not in the romantic sense. Even as he sat next to you on the floor, just in front of the fireplace with blankets and cocoa. It felt more like he finally had a friend with whom he could share everything.

It made for an odd feeling given how he initially thought you'd be the one to break the curse. How he wanted you to be the one to do so. And yet, here he was perfectly content to relax the days away, with someone he truly cared about.

"I don't think I've ever seen snow this late into March." You sighed into the steaming mug, "What about you?"

Klaus shook his head solemnly, "I've never paid much attention to the weather before now. Though now that you mention it... this does seem strange."

The silence stretched, the only noise being the cackle of firewood. Klaus was slightly worried however, you usually only brought up the weather when you wanted to talk about leaving. While he was a bit more comfortable with the topic, it saddened Klaus to think about the lonely silence you'd leave behind.

But perhaps the two of you could leave together...

"Do you think you could teach me some things?"

Klaus nearly choked on his cocoa in trying to answer.

"Of- of course [Name]!" He straightened up subconsciously, "Just name what you'd like to learn. I swear to do my best."

.

Klaus would eat those words; sooner rather than later. Here he was, thinking he had gotten over his shotgun crush and trembling while teaching you to waltz around. Though you had long since forgotten about breaking the curse, you were just curious about how nobles danced.

It was much easier than you were lead to believe. At least the waltzing was, once Klaus started adding extra steps things got a little more complicated. And the music emanating from an old gramophone wasn't helping much. You weren't familiar with slow violins, much less the rest of the stringed instruments.

Yet it was fun, if a little awkward. Everything about the situation flew right over your head. With how relaxed you were with Klaus now, it didn't register as romantic in the slightest. Especially not when you started trying to teach Klaus how you used to dance in your village.

You were more worried that Klaus would lose his balance with how much he was shaking. And it didn't take long for Klaus to stumble over the quick movements... and his tail.

"Are you okay!?"

Tugging on his arm despite the size difference did nothing. Klaus still deeply appreciated the gesture, though he rose slowly.

"Yes, I'm quite alright." Klaus swished his tail sheepishly, "It was merely my tail getting in the way. You would think I'd be used to it by now. Though I must admit that I've never tried dancing this way, nor did I expect the foot movements to be so rapid."

You rubbed the back of your neck, "Yeah, it was kinda fast. But that's just how I learned it. We didn't have classes, just go do it and you'll get the hang of it eventually."

"Seems quite..." Klaus paused, unsure how to phrase it.

"Backwards?" You offered, "You'd think that for a festival they would give us a little instruction. But no, apparently the Duke likes watching people be confused."

Shaking his head slowly, "Shame, he truly sounds like a horrid man. Though I have a sinking feeling that if I returned he would become a completely different person."

"Sadly. But oh well."

Klaus watched as you stretched, still unable to separate his feelings for you and how complex the situation had become. He wasn't merely crushing on a stranger any more, he truly thought of you as a friend. How was he supposed to tell a friend he had fallen in love with them? Truly fallen for them hard.

.

It seemed like forever, but the snow was finally starting to melt. You couldn't help but dread leaving, even with the promise you made. This was too bittersweet. Walking away from Klaus after all this time felt just as wrong as staying had back then.

What were you gonna do?

On the one hand you knew you were more than welcome to stay, regardless what you said. On the other, you tried your best to keep promises when you made them. Breaking this one wouldn't hurt... right?

At the same time, the fact that you weren't meant for this life kept creeping up. You were still a hunter, and all this time you'd left your village alone. Would anyone recognize you? Would they care? Would you be welcomed back as freely as you were welcomed here? Would they blame you for what you weren't there for?

Klaus also knew that the clear skies would likely mean you'd leave. And his own inner turmoil was bubbling to the surface again. Should he ask you to stay? Offer to go with? Plead with you to return?

Tell you how he felt perhaps?

Despite being in the same room, hardly three feet away; you might as well have been on two different planets. Steven and K.K. looked between the two of you with deep sighs.

It seemed obvious, but how long would it take for the two of you to just say something? K.K. absolutely wanted to meddle and convince you to stay, push Klaus into saying how he felt and speed up this process. It wasn't about getting back to normal, K.K. just wanted to see Klaus happy for once.

And maybe she wanted to plan a wedding. She did love throwing parties after all.

Steven however had other things on his mind. Like how Klaus would likely become despondent if you left. Or injured if the beast-man decided to follow you out of here. Either way, it would hurt Klaus in the long run.

But it didn't have to be this way and Steven knew it.

"Klaus?"

"Yes?"

"I've been thinking. About the promise I made..."

Klaus stared, politely as ever. For once it wasn't unnerving, just a bit expectant.

"I-" CRASH

Both of you stood instantly, turning toward the front door. What was going on? Who could possibly be barging in here?

"[NAME]!"

You recognized the voice, barely. Though if you were correct, then... What was he doing here?

"[NAME]! ANSWER ME!"

"[Name]?" Klaus looked so confused, "Do you know who...?"

You were trying to grab something, anything to defend yourself with. Well, really to defend Klaus with, Chaz would never be able to accept a 'tamed beast'.

No matter how many enchanted objects told him it was a curse.

"[NAME]!"

The door you were both facing flew open, and as expected Chaz had his bow out and ready. Instantly aiming for Klaus, no words needed.

"CHAZ!" You shouted, "DON'T SHOOT!"

"[Name], get down. That thing is--"

Klaus could only stand there. Steven, even as a suit of armor, was going to do his duty and protect Klaus. A loosed arrow rang hollow through enchanted metal, none of the staff were really capable of getting injured in this state.

It was stand-still confusion as Chaz's mind raced. You were trying to herd the monster out of the room, away from him. And talking low so he couldn't hear you. This had curse magic written all over it.

Shame that Chaz couldn't put two and two together properly.

.

"[Name]." Klaus was still at a loss, "Who was that?"

Leaning over to see if Chaz had followed, "He's another hunter from the village. Kinda... really obsessed with me. Dunno if its his version of a crush or a rivalry or what, but he won't leave me alone."

That only worried Klaus, though he knew you weren't the one in danger here. He couldn't help but be concerned for you the whole time. The bigger problem at hand was the man who barged in wielding bow and arrow.

And the best Klaus could do was take you through back rooms to hopefully outrun him.

Though it was unlikely that he would leave on his own.

"Stop right there monster."

Klaus instantly froze, regretting going through a main hall at all. His arm held you back, out of the way of danger. Not that you weren't struggling to break free, you knew Chaz wouldn't intentionally hurt you.

And the dumba$$ in question took that to mean you were struggling to escape from Klaus. Loosing an arrow quickly in his half-baked attempts to save you from danger himself.

"KLAUS!"

The arrow pierced his knee deeply, the hiss of pain as Klaus fell to the ground was painful to you. Cutting deep into your heart. Chaz was already notching a second arrow.

"[Name], get away from it! Before it can attack."

That just made your blood boil. Instead of just defending Klaus, shielding him from danger, you yanked a sword from the nearest suit of armor.

"[Name], what's wrong with you? I thought you were fighting against the mind control!?"

"Draw your sword." You spat, "Now."

"[Name], c'mon. Its me. You know me, Chaz. Remember? The guy who-"

"Draw your sword."

Klaus could feel the murderous aura pulsing off you. Chaz could feel it too, backing up a few steps as you descended the stairs.

"Draw your sword, Chaz."

"[Name], I don't want to hurt you."

You weren't going to be so nice, swinging at Chaz with intent to draw blood. Purposefully aiming to miss so he had time to realize just how serious you were.

Sword scraping hard stone, barely inches from where Chaz's foot was three seconds ago. If he hadn't moved then he would be missing an arm.

"Draw your sword."

Shaking badly, Chaz did just that. He only just realized how badly he messed up by not stopping to listen to you earlier.

Steel clashed in a one-sided conflict. Chaz could barely defend himself as you fought. No one was going to endanger Klaus like that, nor disrespect him. Not with you around.

Every swift movement knocked Chaz backward, pushing him out the front door. Blood dribbled from him, your relentless attacking left no room for mistake. Though Chaz kept making them, just barely avoiding the brunt of the damage.

What you couldn't see was how Klaus was transforming. As you fought, he could only stare in amazement. Understanding precisely why you were attacking so harshly, and finding that it made him giddy. Though a little mortified that you would take such drastic measures for him.

It wasn't just Klaus transforming either, Steven and K.K. ran out to the sight of you slashing through fingers and leaving a messy trail of revenge. The look on your face was terrifying, but Klaus was still injured.

And he was a bit more of a top priority.

"[Name]!" Chaz cried out, "I'm sorry! I'll leave! I!"

You stopped suddenly, the darkened look on your face unyielding, "Then get out."

Gathering what little resolve he had left, Chaz opened the door. Running for his life and unsure what to think. This was nothing like the epic rescue he thought this would be. Chaz had been expecting to find you needing his help, not ready to kill for some random beast.

.

You fell to your knees beside the vaguely familiar form at the top of the stairs. Not entirely sure the curse was broken, Klaus still had fangs. But he was still much smaller than before, thought he would still tower over you.

"Klaus?"

His hand felt the same, just a little smaller as it cupped your cheek, "Yes, it's me. I... I don't know what to say really."

"I can fix the suit of armor." You started, "And polishing the sword, scrubbing the floor. Its the least I can do since this is my-"

You were cut off by a soft kiss to your other cheek. Part of you wanted Klaus to despise you for being so violent, part of you wanted him to be upset that you managed to ruin the carpet and stain the stone. Part of you wanted him to punish you in some way for being the reason he got hurt.

But part of you just wanted to stay here and live out the rest of your life with him.

"At the moment," Klaus said slowly, "I'd like to ask that you help me to my room. And perhaps we could finish the conversation from the kitchen."

Trickster [Klaus x Reader]

Trickster [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 😈

Plans usually worked better than this. By now, you'd have a soul or two and be on your merry way. But Klaus von Reinherz made things a little... tricky.

"Are you sure you don't want power?"

The tall man shook his head solemnly, "I am quite strong already. Political power doesn't interest me, nor does dominion over my fellow man. I'm afraid you won't find anything I desire."

Frowning, "Mortals always want something Klausie-kins. I'll find that something and we'll make a deal."

You had to give up. It wasn't your intention to do so, and yet here you were finding joy in the little things. Like pranking Klaus into a trapping spell so he has to live as a toddler for five hours. It wasn't your best work to be sure, but it was funny as sin to watch a little red-headed baby trying to do paperwork.

Though falling for the giant teddy bear was also not on your agenda, but here you were sitting in his lap watching him play Prosfair. It made for an interesting dynamic as you continued to prank him, yet you couldn't get him to give you his soul. You couldn't persuade him to make any kind of deal with you.

You couldn't even get him to cause just the slightest bit of chaos with you!

It was a little maddening. Although mortals had a funny way of belonging to the people they loved. You thought you could use that to your advantage, but no. There was always a catch with these sorts of things now wasn't there.

Still... Klaus was adorable when flustered. And being such a pure soul, he was extremely easy to fluster.

"Klausie-kins!" You called from across the house, "Would you bring me my spell book please?"

"Of course Shatzi, one moment."

Watching him enter the room, slowly getting shorter and shorter again. Except this time you'd booby-trapped your spell book to merely shrink Klaus. He was walking around at maybe five feet even, still in his adult body just a tad bit shorter. Shorter than yourself and much easier to lean on.

Taking advantage of just that, leaning your elbow on the top of his head, "Thank you Klausie-kins. Enjoy being five feet tall dear."

He had taken the incident rather well, except for how you kept leaning against him. It was mostly innocent fun on your part. Just being a right thorn in his side and getting a slight rise out of him.

It worked wonderfully... Until he returned to normal and toted you off like a naughty child.

But you couldn't help it. Teasing was just too much fun. And it wasn't like you minded the results either. Tormenting Klaus usually got faster results, just not in getting you his soul.

Oh well, this was more fun anyways.

What now? [Klaus x Reader]

What Now? [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 💒

Was there even such a thing as a normal day in this city? Well, to be fair, Klaus has had many 'normal' days amid the chaos of Hellsalem's Lot. Several of which he'd spent with you specifically, days he absolutely cherished...

But did it have to be chaotic on his wedding day?

The one day Klaus wanted everything to go perfectly, but no! Femt just had to release a pack of demon beast hybrids... again!

Barely being able to see you dressed so gorgeously in stunning wedding attire, before the building started shaking and collapsing. It should have been such a cut-and-dry day, one that Klaus would treasure and cherish forever. But now the building was crumbling around everyone, stopping the proceedings before they could hit a full stride.

Just seeing the fearful, anxious look in your eye set Klaus in hyper-drive, the wedding could always be rescheduled. The clothes could be fixed up, everything could be recreated. His family would be so very helpful in these endeavors but why were they necessary?

Dr. Estevez stood there, completely unfazed by the destruction of the church around herself. Standing by, she had deformed into small clones to escort as many non-fighting guests out of harm's way. Her attempts to keep things from getting too out of hand were rather effective, given how many other guests were fully capable of fighting.

Klaus's brothers and Father were doing their best to assist the tiny doctor as the least equip to fight out of all the fighters on the scene. You really didn't want to get your nicest outfit all dirty, and you didn't have the heart to tell your in-laws that you were a member of Libra.

You already told them about future plans of starting a family.

But things were never that easy. There were simply too many of these beasts, and not nearly enough people to contain the problem. Every last one of the people capable of fighting had to give it their all. There were simply too many creatures roaming around the city, flying and stomping and leaving mounds of rubble in their wake.

Leaping on the back of a flying beast, Klaus dug his heels into its skin. A bright red glow from his knuckleduster as he aimed, waiting for a good opportunity to bury a blood lance into its brain.

"Kreuzvernichterlanze!"

The damage to the pavement and buildings was thankfully minimal as Klaus tumbled forward. Your ability to catch Klaus was put to the test as he fell off the beast, though he was deeply embarrassed to be caught like this in front of his family. Little did he know that his siblings approved, his mother was a tad bit horrified. She was very concerned, and confused, about the situation given that you told her about wanting to start a family.

"Well this is fun, eh honey?" Klaus ducked as his ears started turning red, "One hell of a party though, no one can complain that it wasn't a wild time."

"Shatzi please." Klaus could barely choke out the words, "I don't think anyone is considering this the reception."

Pushing down on Klaus's shoulder, leaping up with your own blood sword, "You know, this is probably the best time for us to go through with this."

Catching your ankle and lifting you up so you could finish the beast off, "I... I'm sure we could reschedule Liebling..."

"But can we actually count on the 13 Kings to not do something like this again?" Dragging your blade down with your weight, knowing Klaus was right there to catch you if something went wrong, "Especially with how your family likes making sure plenty of people know."

Landing on your feet, turning to Klaus. He had to seriously think it over, you did have a point...

"Not that it's a bad thing for them to do," You continued, "I'm just a little skeptical that the 13 didn't try to plan this chaos specifically because it's you... because it's Libra."

As much as Klaus hated to admit this, you had several points about this. He would have definitely preferred to reschedule and give you the best wedding ceremony and reception. Sadly, reality wasn't cooperating with him.

"Dr. Estevez!" Klaus yelled over his shoulder, smacking a smaller beast away with one hand, "Please, would you start the vows? We have little other option at the moment."

"Okay!" The nearest clone gave a thumbs up, "If you're certain Mr. Reinherz."

A curt nod and quick explanation through all of Dr. Estevez's clones, "Thank you for being here today as Klaus von Reinherz and [Full Name] enter into a lifelong civil union."

It wasn't ideal, nothing about today was really. But At least the tiny doctor was more than capable of reading the ceremony vows while assisting. No one had ever seen her communicate this way, let alone have multiple clones speak the same words like this. It was so very welcomed given the circumstances.

"Today we celebrate the separate journeys that brought them together, and we usher them toward the new journey they will embark upon as partners."

Oh, the two of you were a little closer than traditional partners. Having had each other's backs in battle, sitting up late to comfort one another through any little thing, and the countless hours the two of you just spent relaxing together. And that was on full display as the two of you fought so well side by side.

It felt like little time was passing as Dr. Estevez continued the proceedings, "Thank you. Do you, as witnesses to this day, support and encourage this union?"

The guests, as scattered as they were, chimed in at random sounding times. Some more enthusiastically than others, "We do."

Steven landed just a second too late to answer with everyone else, rather close to you and Klaus, "I support this too I was just late about it."

"It's perfectly fine Steven." You nodded at Klaus's comforting attempts, "You were the one who helped the most."

"Just behind Klaus's family of course."

Both boys were a tiny bit blushy as you winked. Before Dr. Estevez had a chance to whack the three of you for "disrupting" the ceremony. As if the demon beasts weren't covering that role a little better.

"As I guide you in exchanging your vows, you, Klaus, and you, [Name] will declare your intentions for a lasting partnership in love and marriage. Are you prepared to do this?"

It took a second to catch your breath, Klaus answered so much quicker than you did. "Yes!"

His lack of breathlessness made you a little jealous.

"Without further ado, let’s begin."

"Repeat after me." Dr. Estevez hesitated for a brief second.

"I, Klaus, take you, [Name], to be my partner. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend." You were just close enough to hear this straight from Klaus's mouth, pausing just enough to see the look on his face as he kept trying to stare lovingly at you, "I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health. I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you."

You felt a little out of breath as you stared at Klaus as much as possible. "I, [Name], take you, Klaus, to be my husband. I promise that from this day forward I will regard you not only as my equal partner but as my closest friend. I promise to comfort you in sickness and in health." Coughing slightly as you landed right next to Klaus, "I promise to demonstrate my commitment to you through love, laughter, and compassion. I love you."

It took all of Klaus's willpower to not kiss you on the spot. He would have been like this even if the ceremony had gone uninterrupted. But it somehow meant so much more to be saying all of this mid-battle. The feelings were palpable, almost as much as the adrenaline.

"As much as I would like to continue the ring exchange," Dr. Estevez called out, "I feel it would be best to hold off until the chaos dies down. That said, with the power vested in me by Bradbury General Cathedral, I pronounce you newly wed partners for life. When you have a spare second, you may kiss."

It took both of your willpowers to not rush to one another, despite the inopportune moment and chaos unfolding around you. Though the silver lining was the thinning of the demon beasts, so very few were left. Steven had taken the less romantically inclined fighters to chase down the remaining creatures.

The falling dust fluttered around, almost like the flower petals that were supposed to be falling at this moment. You barely gave yourself the seconds needed to catch your breath as you stared at Klaus. His wedding tux was almost immaculate in spite of the battle, whereas your clothes were slightly torn and tattered.

None of that mattered. Running at Klaus, leaping right into his arms, knowing he would catch you. Clinging to his broad shoulders, your lips crashed together with reckless abandon. Far more passionately than Klaus intended to be...

But it felt so right.

Gently spinning with the momentum, not caring how it looked. Until your feet gently hit the ground, when Klaus leaned into the kiss- dipping you ever so slightly as he savored the finale to the event he'd been lowkey planning since month 2 of dating one another. There were so many eyes, so many voices cheering, many of them not truly belonging to the wedding nor the reception. But the situation was far from what had been planned.

The sheepish look across Klaus's face as realization set in was beyond adorable. Unfortunately, Steven still had your rings... But for the moment they weren't missed, even as everyone discovered that the reception area was almost completely unscathed.

The suspicion that Femt had planned the attack for the ceremony itself grew stronger.

Sweeties [Klaus x Reader]

Sweeties [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous ⚘️

Damien and Evalyn were old enough to understand what was going on, they knew why Papa was so excited to be in this weird-smelling store. The kind, older lady helping them find something cute to wear was asking Klaus several questions about what kind of colors the wedding would have. While Klaus had long since talked over every detail with you, it was just a simple matter of getting the children into something equally adorable.

Though Klaus had promised to not go overboard, he was not about to let this event go any way other than perfect. That meant the children would be in matching flower child outfits and decking little Mabel's stroller with flowers and ribbons. Gilbert wasn't wholly on board with this, though he knew Klaus's heart was in the right place.

His children were getting a "second mother" and he had asked a second lovely woman to build a family with him. A large ask from anyone, especially picking up the pieces of a broken family so smoothly as you had.

Klaus was determined to make sure things went better this time around.

.

One deep breath as you pushed open the gate, an outdoor wedding fenced off with a slightly tall fence covered with a semi-opaque covering. Damien and Evalyn had one hand on Mabel's stroller and the other out toward you. It was a miracle that they were both tall enough to reach your elbows.

Just seeing you wearing such a stunning dress had Klaus's heart fluttering. Seeing how it matched the children's outfits, and just how you were with them. Little Mabel was shaking her teeny fists, scattering flower petals everywhere while the four of you walked down the aisle toward the gentle giant. He could hardly contain how happy he was, a massive grin threatening to overtake his face.

You recounted how this was even possible. The tragic path slowly turning into possibly the happiest ending. It certainly wasn't how you thought things would turn out, it wasn't something you'd ever choose. But you already planned on being close with your friend's family...

This wasn't the way you pictured that...

But the soft tugging of the little children at your arms, trying to contain their excitement over having Aunt [Name] become Mama, legally; made you realize that you couldn't stay in third degree after everything that happened.

It made you think about the what-ifs of had your friend survived. What would your life look like then?

Standing in front of Klaus made every other thought melt away. That kind of thinking didn't matter, you could waste your life thinking. But right now, you were listening to Dr. Estevez officiating the ceremony. Listening to every promise you would do your best to keep for the rest of your life.

Having such a beautiful partner looking up at him so lovingly amid the vows had Klaus feeling like he was simultaneously melting and supercharged with electricity. His three adorable children hanging off their legs, absolutely enamored with what was going on; the prospect of having you around constantly the way you already were.

His whole world had revolved around his late wife... and now he was making room in that world for you, for the betterment of his children. And a little bit for himself. How you'd stepped up so effortlessly to assist him, to be there for Damien and Evalyn, to get him through everything going on.

He wanted to do everything right this time. All of Klaus's efforts to protect his loved ones would double, if not triple. If only to keep his children from going through all this a second time...

"Do you Damien, Evalyn, and Mabel Reinherz take [Name] to be your new mother?"

"Yes!"

Despite knowing this was coming, despite knowing they would say yes... Your and Klaus's hearts still fluttered at their enthusiasm, the simple earnesty both had; little Mabel could only wave her small fists and coo loudly.

"I hereby pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride. Then you two may hug your mother."

Damien and Evalyn didn't need to be told twice, clinging to your legs as Klaus kissed you gently, gentlemanly as he could be due to the fact that the children were right there.

Additions [Klaus x Reader]

Additions [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous 👶

Note: Damien is six, Yvonne is three.

"But Papa!" "Please?" "We'll be good, we promise!"

As much as Klaus wanted to allow his children to accompany him to the hospital, it was far too dangerous at the moment. You had come down with a slight cold which made everything much more difficult after the exhaustion of childbirth. And Klaus didn't want to risk Damien and Yvonne's health like this. Mabel was in good hands with Dr. Estevez in the meantime, especially after a few tests to ensure that your breast milk was safe to be consumed.

Looking down at massive puppy eyes while the little ones begged to go with, teeny fangs bared in the most innocent way possible; Klaus felt his heart strings tug a bit.

"My apologies Shatzchen, but Mama is very tired and needs to rest." Klaus knelt down to comfort them, "When she's feeling well you can come along, I promise."

Holding out both his hands with pinkies extended, Klaus carefully wrapped his smallest finger with his babies. Locking in the simplest of promises, something he was planning on doing anyway as soon as you were feeling better. Preferably the day you were to come back home.

Thankfully, his mother turned the corner; having entered the house from the garage on the side of the house. Both of his parents had been a massive help with the children as they loved their Baba and Grand Papa, as they constantly said. Your best friend had also been around quite often, attempting to help cook but really just prepping lunches for when the children went to school.

"Baba!" Yvonne was the first to break away, gently tackling the older woman with a hug, "Guten Morgen!"

"Guten Morgen mein Shatzi!" Klaus somewhat envied how his mother didn't have to lean over as far to hug a three-year-old, "How is everything?"

Damien had also bounced up to Baba, happily chatting about their morning and what the two of them wanted to do today. While Klaus knew his mother had plans, much like himself; she would take their wishes into account. Though his father walked in slightly after, telling Gilbert things he would need for the day trip Klaus's parents were planning for the children. Their attempts to ease the burdens and keep young Damien and Yvonne from feeling left out because of the new baby.

"Klaus, Wie geht es [Name]?" His father turned to him, "Gibt es eine wesentliche Änderung?"

Slowly shaking his head, "She has been slowly recovering, thankfully, but nothing drastic one way or the other."

A soft groan as he nodded solemnly, Klaus could tell his father was trying to think up something that might help. Though both of them knew there was little they could do outside of letting you rest and heal in the hospital.

But Klaus couldn't keep standing in the foyer, he wanted to check on his beloved and newborn child. Stepping out to see Phillip awaiting him with the car running, Klaus tried to ease his nerves. He knew he shouldn't be this worried post-pregnancy, especially when he wasn't the one to go through the pain of childbirth.

And yet, knowing his beloved wasn't perfectly healthy made him worry. Knowing he had to wait longer than normal to bring his newborn home made him worry.

Attempting to calm his nerves, Klaus sniffed at the small bouquet he'd trimmed from his garden. He was doing everything he could, you were getting better, it was merely a cold brought on from a weakened immune system. This was all perfectly normal, just unfortunate.

Not that you could tell upon first impressions. The soft smile Klaus entered the room with fooled you for a few minutes, but you could tell that bringing it up wouldn't help anyone. Going round and round about Klaus's worries only lead to a quiet room.

Though seeing you up and smiling, holding Mabel to feed her helped Klaus relax, genuinely relax as he placed the flowers in the small vase on your nightstand. Settling down in a chair next to you, carefully brushing your hair behind your ear.

"Morning honey." You sighed, "How did Damien and Yvonne take being told 'no' today?"

"The same as always Liebling." Klaus chuckled softly, "Though I promised to bring them once you were feeling better."

Nodding a little, "I'm not contagious Lieber. It's perfectly safe to bring them in to see Mabel."

Very gently resting his head against your shoulder, Klaus was defeated. He knew you were right about this, even if he would continue to be stubborn about bringing Damien and Yvonne to visit. Though his mother would likely have a few things to say about this if she found out.

He very carefully brushed a large thumb against the back of Mabel's head, earning a soft coo as she let go, little happy babbling noises as Mabel realized her Papa was nearby. It was too adorable; Klaus visibly melted while Mabel made noises at him.

This couldn't be anymore picturesque if it were a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Most days felt like this. But as you recovered, Klaus attempted to teach Damien and Yvonne to hold a tiny baby. With both his mother and your best friend trying to make it as easy as possible; Damien was able to walk slowly without troubles but Yvonne had to sit down. She was just too little to be carrying Mabel, it just wasn't safe at the moment.

But the time was slipping fast and Klaus found himself buckling the children into car seats, having to explain the massive car seat was for their baby sister. Things were starting to fully click into place, especially for Yvonne. Damien had already been through this when they brought home Yvonne so he was a bit calmer.

"I really miss Mama." Yvonne said, "I hope she's okay."

"I assure your Shatzi, Mama is perfectly fine." Klaus turned, smiling a little at her, "She's feeling much better and will be coming back home with us today."

Being stared at with such large, sparkly eyes as Yvonne gasped, "Really!?"

Nodding happily, Klaus was just as relieved at the situation, "Both she and your new little sister Mabel will be coming home today. It may take a little time to get used to how things will go day to day, but Baba, Grand Papa, and Mx. [Best Friend] will be around to assist. As well as Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Phillip, okay?"

The sweet, eager, enthusiastic nodding was too precious. Damien was a little more reserved about it, but he was just as excited to have a second baby sister; even if he would prefer a little brother.

Either way, you were bombarded with tight little hugs from Damien and Yvonne. They had missed you, clear as day. Both of them peering in on Mabel while in her car seat the entire ride home, all the while Mabel tried to grab at whatever she could.

Gently pulling Yvonne away at the last second, "Careful sweetie, Mabel's little nails are sharp. She doesn't mean to scratch you, but it will happen."

"Okay Mama."

Yvonne went right back to leaning in a little too close, barely dodging her teeny fingers each time. Damien had caught one chubby fist, Mabel holding her big brother's fingers; leading Yvonne to doing the same. Between you, Klaus, and Damien, Yvonne was being told a lot of little tips of how to interact with baby Mabel.

It was so sweet to see. You knew there would be no end to the pictures, videos, or your Mother-in-Law's cooing over how adorable the children are being. Especially as you watched Damien carrying baby Mabel very slowly, very carefully across the living room, or Yvonne sitting as still as she could while holding Mabel.

It was something you weren't entirely expecting... even if Klaus had attempted to teach Damien when Yvonne was born. But your little family was growing fast, as were your photo albums...

Late to the- [Klaus x Reader]

Late To The- [Klaus X Reader]

Requested by Anonymous ⏱️

The quiet of the house as Klaus finally got off work was uneasy. He knew all of this was his fault, working too late once again and leaving you alone with the children for far too long...

Settling into a chair as quietly as possible, a warmed-over plate of Bavarian pot roast sitting in front of himself. Wistfully thinking about how dinner must've gone earlier today, how he would've talked with the children. Warning them against talking with their mouths full, enjoying the day-to-day chatter, gently reminding the children to finish their vegetables, and meeting your eyes from across the table.

Blurry visions of what could have been... should have been, faded as he wiped at the sparse tears from under his glasses. Slowly getting up and cleaning away what little mess there was, Klaus was breathing a little heavily. The weight of his grief and guilt hitting him in full force.

Marching down the hall on tired feet, Klaus stopped just shy of your shared room, contemplating the risk of waking you up. Instead, he shuffled back to the living room. Sinking into the couch cushions, Klaus fell asleep to the ideas of the person he wanted to be... how badly he was failing at being a father and husband.

"Shhh!" "But!" "Shhh!!"

Klaus's eyes opened slowly, five children looking down at him. He knew how bad this must look to them, yet...

"Shatzchen, is there something you needed?" He sat up slowly, trying his best to make things seem normal, "What is going on?"

Before Damien could answer, Yvonne piped up, partially bouncing up, "Why aren't you sleeping in the bed with Mama?"

He was squirming at this, keeping this façade was going to be difficult, "I didn't want to wake Mama up last night. I came home far too late mein Shatzis, that's all it was."

The worried looks being exchanged between the children had Klaus squirming even more. This was his worst lie to date, and right to his children's faces at that... He could tell they weren't believing him this time. Until...

"You must've been extremely late Lieber." You stepped in from the hallway, "To be out here once again."

Now the children were just confused, looking back and forth like little meerkats. As much as Klaus appreciated your backup on the matter, he was also concerned about your willingness to lie to the children. Though he could very easily say that about himself at the moment.

"Quite late mein Herz." Klaus hung his head a little, "My apologies."

Klaus was tackled in tight hugs, several small arms wrapped around him as you walked into the kitchen. It was clear that you were just trying to keep the peace, but the conversation wasn't over with. Just delayed until the children were too busy to pay attention to the conversation.

It wasn't until after lunch that you were approached by Klaus. Shyly shuffling, struggling to find the words to start the conversation. As much as he wanted to-

"Klaus, I'd rather you woke me up." Your eyes didn't leave the book that weren't even reading, "I know how much this weighs on you. That you want to be here to spend time with us. But fact of the matter is that your job is very demanding, I've known that since we started dating and it hasn't changed throughout our marriage."

Klaus was barely able to make eye contact when you looked up at him. But the pain behind how strictly you were talking hit him like a ton of bricks. Kneeling down to your level, a gentle hand resting on your knee as he mirrored your deep seated pain.

"I know it all sounds harsh like this, but--"

"Liebling, please don't apologize." Klaus carefully squeezed your knee, "I shouldn't have put you in such a situation as to lie to our children, and I... I know it hurts you to be like this. It hurts me to be absent in my family's lives. I've only ever wanted to be here for all of you. And yet..."

The urge to smack Klaus with your book was strong, however...

"Honey, you're doing the best you can." You sighed a little, "The children and I know that, we understand-"

His head popped up, "I don't want you to understand. I'd prefer that you be upset, blame me for the broken promi--"

"Why should I blame you for the fact that there are terrible people in the world?" Your foot came down very close to his knee, "Because I know you wouldn't break a promise without a damn good reason and so do your kids."

Looking like a scolded child himself, Klaus laid his head on your lap in defeat. He knew you were right, he knew he couldn't continue arguing with you over this either. Deep down he knew this would blow over soon enough, that you weren't truly upset with him... just how he was going about inflicting his own punshiment.

At least he had today to make up for the time spent in the office.

Day 5: Overhearing a Caretaker mildly complaining [x Klaus]

Break a leg huh? Welp, you broke a leg alright, and Klaus was determined to take care of you to the best of his ability. But you knew it was putting too much on him, asking him to watch over you like this when he should be at work.

Even if he can just take care of the paperwork, it wasn't fair to ask him to take care of you. Not like this.

But he was stubborn. Your leg bone had broken, damn near splintered when you fell. Moving was difficult, Klaus wouldn't leave your side for a second, occasionally resigning to carrying you around because he could. It made you feel like a doll.

The worst of it was how damn careful you had to be about your frequent headaches. Laying back into direct, bright lights wasn't helping at all. And you only had a few ways you could lay without risking further injury. It was only a matter of time before Klaus got annoyed with it, you were certain.

"I'm unsure what to do Steven." Klaus's voice woke you from a fever nap, "It's been getting rather dark lately. Far too early. And [Name] can't handle the bright lights."

You laid still, pretending to still be fast asleep. The pause and sigh told you that Klaus was on the phone, and not at all happy.

"Of course we've tried nightlights. We've also tried flashlights." Klaus passed very close to the couch where you were laying, "But the way it throws shadow... I hate seeing [Name] frightened like that."

Klaus stopped suddenly, turning back to where you were. From his point of view, you were still asleep. While he listened to Steven suggest a variety of solutions, Klaus knelt by your side. Each possible outcome had its drawbacks, and while Klaus could appreciate the help, he didn't care for the accusatory tone Steven used.

This was his beloved [Name] after all, not some random person off the street.

"Steven, I'm well aware of how this must look from your point of view. And believe me, I do find it frustrating to be held back by so many inconveniences."

Your heart squeezed a little hearing that, knowing that Klaus was too much of a gentleman to say it to your face. Or even admit out loud that this was your fault. It hurt on so many levels.

"Even so, I will be back in the office soon." Klaus's hand rested gently across your back, "[Name]'s last doctor appointment went very well and they should be more than capable of caring for themselves soon. I believe Dr. Estevez mentioned crutches."

Finally hanging up, Klaus absently rubbed your back. He just wanted you to be okay. He knew you weren't trying to make things difficult, and the way you were bedridden was only natural after the accident. All he could do was hope for best situation, and that you weren't awake to hear him venting to Steven.

Klaus would die if you'd overheard. He was terrified what you might think of him. What your thought process might lead you to...

Day 7: "Close your eyes" [x Klaus]

It was such a long day, you just wanted to go home and relax. At least, that was your first instinct. Until your phone dinged, a brief message from your giant teddy bear of a lover.

"Please meet me at the north end of the park."

Your exhaustion was replaced with a sudden giddy rush as you started down a readjusted path. Whatever had plagued you would be all but a distant memory after you met up with Klaus. It was all but guaranteed. Klaus just had this charm, it was almost an ability to make problems just... fade away.

As you neared the park, your eyes darted around the area. Klaus was all too easy to spot from a distance, but it didn't seem like he was close enough yet. However, he wasn't very clear about where exactly in the northern end of the park he wanted to meet up at. Just as you were about to text him for a little clarification...

"Hello [Name]." You turned, not expecting Klaus's voice to be so close. He seemed a little too large to be sneaky like this, "I do apologize for the sudden request. There was something I wished to show you, if you have a moment?"

"Of course!" You beamed up at him, "Where to?"

The grin across your face was mirrored by a soft, tiny smile on Klaus as he offered his arm. He couldn't help how enamored he was with you; especially given the way you smiled at him, linking arms with him, and strolling along... not a care in the world. Despite how often others tended to avoid the red-haired gentle giant.

That didn't matter to you in the slightest, he was a massive sweetheart. Though you weren't sure where you were headed, yet. Several of these buildings weren't all that familiar to you, this wasn't an area you went to often. Only made it easier for Klaus to find something surprising to show you...

He stopped a little abruptly, "Ah, do forgive me. Please, close your eyes. I'll make sure you don't trip, I promise."

"Okay."

Klaus couldn't stop his ears from turning red. Seeing you just... do what he asked, trusting him to this degree was still very flattering to him. Flustered him to no end thinking about how much trust you had in him. Though Klaus wrapped an arm behind your back as the two of you continued walking. It wasn't much further, Klaus was certain you'd love this.

Turning the corner, Klaus lead you to a small café. Guiding you to a small table in the back of the store.

"Ah, I'll be right back Liebling." He said, "Please, don't open your eyes just yet."

It was a little nerve-wracking to sit at a table by yourself with your eyes closed. But the fact that Klaus was calm helped ease you. Sitting and breathing deeply, you could tell that it was a rather small restaurant, possibly some kind of sweets shop.

Klaus wasn't gone for very long, settling back down across from you. He was extremely excited to show you this little treat, sliding the small plate toward you. It was extremely adorable to him, the way your head tilted at the noise.

"I apologize for the wait," His hand slipped over yours, "It's ready."

"Ready?" You were slow to open your eyes, rubbing as you adjusted to the light, "What do you--"

Once you saw the small cake-like treat, your face split into a soft grin. And once again, your happiness was mirrored in Klaus... just to a smaller degree. An adorable design of a pug face looked up at you, it was almost too cute to eat... almost.

"I thought you'd find it adorable." Klaus admitted sheepishly, "But I didn't think it would be very... safe to attempt to carry one through the city. Especially with how tucked away this café is compared to other places."

Holding onto his... oversized hand was about the most difficult thing to do. Not that he cared in the slightest; Klaus carefully wrapped his fingers between yours, simply enjoying the moment. Listening intently to your day.

Day 13: "Please get me out of here." [x Klaus]

How had it come to this? You were minding your own business, doing a little shopping for a party while you had a day off...

And now here you were, bound and gagged on your way to who knows where. Being a member of Libra had some regrettable drawbacks sometimes. If that was even what this was about...

You honestly couldn't tell, but at this point, it would be fruitless to ask.

Klaus was virtually apoplectic despite his steady, calm demeanor. The fact that you'd been abducted was inexcusable, though Klaus did wrongfully blame himself. Wondering if perhaps the two of you shouldn't be spotted in public as often as you are, or more accurately if there was something he was missing. Had he simply failed to see a look cast in your vicinity that would have predicted this predicament or was it merely the fact that the two of you were considered the most dangerous members of Libra...

Aside from Steven, he was the only other well-known person on the team.

But that didn't matter in the slightest at the moment as Klaus marched to the car. He needed to find you, sooner rather than later...

You lost track of how many times you'd been kicked in the torso, how many bruises you could feel forming under your clothes. Those would definitely start bleeding over before the day was over.

But you weren't giving them the answers they kept demanding. You couldn't figure out what kind of people you were even dealing with, not with the bright spotlight in your face.

"The faster you start talking, the sooner you'll end this pain." One sneered, "There's no way you can hold out like this forever."

Instead of saying anything, you spat a mouthful of blood in the direction you heard the voice coming from, unknowingly hitting them directly in the eye. Other than the disgusted growl that followed... and was followed by another hard hit to your side.

Even as you gasped for air, wheezing between the small trickle of blood from a couple missing teeth, you didn't break. These bast*ards weren't getting a word out of you.

Though that didn't stop you from flinching at the otherworldly crashing of the door. You couldn't see what was going on, but you could hear and feel. From the chill in the room to the half roar of a very familiar voice, you knew you could relax... internally, showing how relieved you were before you were rescued could hurt the chances of escape... assuming someone was close enough to you to force a hostage stand-off.

Klaus's voice was almost directly in your ear, he seemed to panting heavily, it was very unusual, "[Name], Liebling... Don't panic."

You nodded, closing your eyes, "Please, just get me out of here."

The harsh way your voice tried to crack, the blood oozing down your face, just how roughed up you were hurt Klaus deeply. He could have prevented this... surely he could have done something to stop this from happening.

But now, he was gentle. Pushing the spotlight away from your face, unbuckling your legs then your wrists so you could steady yourself. Klaus didn't leave your side for a second, though the first instance of you being unsteady on your own two feet saw him scooping you up bridal style.

You didn't protest this, the uneasy and woozy feeling built up when you tried standing. But you knew you were safe, that all this was over... behind you.

Only Klaus was trying to take the blame.

Not that you would let him, but you weren't in a state of being that would even remotely allow for an argument... as "heated" of an argument as Klaus would allow himself to have that is... which was hardly more than slightly raised voices.

Day 15 Extra: Babysitting together [x Klaus]

Requested by Anonymous

While Klaus was ever-grateful that you'd offer to help him with this, he couldn't help but feel as if your presence was a little superfluous. He had watched over K.K.'s sons before and never once had a problem with them.

However, this line of thinking left Klaus with a sour taste in his mouth because it felt entitled, selfish, rude, and pompous. As if he were somehow too good to accept your help for something like this.

But then again, it wasn't entirely your decision.

K.K. had requested that both of you keep an eye on Mark and Cain for the day. Not just as a favor for her so she could go out with her husband for a few hours, but as a way of balancing out what the boys wanted to do with what Klaus usually did. K.K. knew Klaus would listen to you far better than her boys, if only because Klaus could get a little stubborn about doing the right thing for them instead of purely letting them have fun.

But, that's how you ended up strolling through a science museum with Klaus and K.K.'s sons. Both Mark and Cain were ecstatic, staring happily at various displays. However, a little trouble arose when the boys couldn't decide on where they wanted to go next.

Mark wanted to see the fossils, but Cain wanted to see the space exhibits. Klaus was trying his best to work out a good compromise, his desire to keep everyone together as a group was born of sheer stubbornness and his protective teddy bear nature. But you felt like a split might do the boys some good.

"Listen, hon. Maybe we should split up for a little while." You took Cain's hand, "I can go with Cain to the space section of the museum while you take Mark to the fossils. We can meet up at the food court in an hour and go from there."

"An hour?" Klaus was still extremely hesitant, "Are you certain Liebling? We could easily--"

"Please Mr. Reinherz?"

Klaus was no match for the boys asking so politely. And an hour, while a rough estimate, would give you all the time to relax and really enjoy the things on display.

"It'll be fine sweetie." You asserted, "I'll keep my phone up enough that if you need to meet up beforehand we can. And If I need you, I'll call. Okay?"

Klaus mulled it over for a few seconds, "Very well Liebling. But please do be careful."

"We will be." You leaned up to kiss Klaus on the cheek before he could say no, "See you in an hour."

The only way Klaus could hide his blushing face was by turning and letting Mark lead the way. He would worry the whole time, but at least you were in a very public space that was rather well protected. An hour would pass by soon enough... surely it would.

Day 25: Unexpected Kiss [x Klaus]

It felt as if Klaus hardly had a moment to breathe. Whenever there was a few scant moments, something else appeared. It was a little unnerving.

And yet, he couldn't for the life of him figure out why he felt like he was constantly forgetting something.

Even worse, he couldn't remember what it was he seemed to be forgetting. Klaus felt like he only needed a brief moment or two to figure out this feeling, but today was simply uncompromising in how much time he was allowed to stop and breathe... let alone think.

If he could ask you or Steven what he might be missing, the feeling would surely fade and Klaus could go on with this hectic day. But alas, no such chance arose... it was truly one thing after the next.

.

It was unusual... Klaus was typically the first to say something on your birthday. Then again, today was so chaotic you briefly forgot your own birthday. Didn't help that you had to get used to even celebrating it once you joined Libra. But that was years ago, Klaus had never missed a single year so far.

But by god, this latest beast was getting on your last nerve. You vaguely wondered if this was Femt's way of trying to celebrate your birthday... pretty poor way to go about it.

Just barely dodging its massive paw, "Hey, C'mon! Its my birthday! Can't you just sit still like a good monster dog?"

Klaus nearly stopped in his tracks. That's what he was missing, he should have known. No wonder you had been glancing at him all day... Klaus hadn't missed a single birthday since you joined... between himself and K.K. no birthday went uncelebrated.

Though if Klaus was honest with himself, his remembering yours was from the... seemingly inappropriate crush he harbored on you. At least, it felt inappropriate given the fact that you worked together. Despite having been quite recently that Klaus even realized precisely why he enjoyed spending time with you.

But now wasn't the time to think about that. First, the two of you had to put this creature down. Or else hope that Steven would be around soon. None of these creatures ever did well in freezing temperatures.

.

Finally, you were able to kick off your shoes and relax... or so you thought. Just as you were about to crash land on the couch, there was almost frantic knocking. It was hard to tell if the person on the other side was nervous or if it was supposed to be urgent.

"Klaus?" You looked up at him, "What are you doing here? Did I forget to do some paperwork or something?"

"No, not at all [Name]." Klaus shifted a little, "I do apologize for forgetting your birthday. I'm ashamed to admit that I had completely forgotten."

You stepped back, gesturing for Klaus to come in, "That's fine, today's been so much busier than normal so there wasn't much that could be done."

"Still..." Klaus turned, "I should have remembered the birthday of such a dear friend."

"We were busy all day, there wasn't much anyone could do." You were slightly stung by being called a friend, but... "You don--!"

Unable to even blink, let alone register that Klaus was right in your face... kissing you. His hands resting on your waist, slowly closing the gap between the two of you. You had to cling to Klaus, unable to tell if your feet were still on the ground.

The slight breath as Klaus eased up, a dark shade of red across his face, "I... I do apologize for not asking first but... I... I've wanted to do that for quite some time now. Considering how... Everything..."

"Please," You tugged on his arm slightly, "Don't apologize..."

Day 25: "Maybe I'm just hopeless" [x Klaus]

Struggling, panting, all but ready to pass out from the sheer effort of standing up. This battle wasn't going in your favor... in truth, no battle has ever gone in your favor. You'd been a fang hunter for as long as you could remember but here you were still struggling to hold your own in combat.

Maybe it was how little you worked out, maybe it was your blood blade and how you'd never fully mastered it, maybe it was how much you relied on other tools and weapons before joining Libra.

Regardless, you were hardly any use in combat and it showed. Klaus always had to bail you out and that wasn't a good look. Especially not when you had an embarrassingly massive crush on the man.

How were you ever to confess if you had to constantly be saved? Were you supposed to try and convince him you were good spouse material? The man had a butler and was more than capable of taking care of a household on his own. You were barely able to boil water without it burning.

You were only kidding yourself to think there was anything Klaus might see in you... especially as he once again came to your rescue.

"[Name], are you alright?" He turned to you with the same concern as ever, "Please, allow me to--"

"I'm fine Klaus." You sighed, "The only thing seriously hurt is my pride. I'll be fine."

Despite your insistence on being okay, your body betrayed you. The ground was coming up fast, but Klaus was much faster; catching you before you could even think about how cold the concrete would be.

"I'm fairly certain your injuries are far worse than you believe them to be." Klaus shifted you around gently before lifting you, "Please, forgive me. I don't want you to further injure yourself."

Letting out a soft grunt, you submitted to the giant teddy bear. Part of you was thrilled, but that elation was extremely short-lived. You were still nothing like how you used to be... you were still a failure of a fang hunter. Despite having one of the best and most versatile blood blade styles out there.

It was maddening to be stuck in this newbie phase.

While sitting in the office; most of your wounds had been shallow, but you weren't able to move around much or be left alone; you watched the mist and clouds just beyond Klaus's desk. He was, of course, the one who'd volunteered to babysit you while you recovered.

Part of you hated it.

It felt like you really couldn't do anything on your own, not even recover without Klaus being right there. Had the two of you been dating or something, you'd understand it. But he was just being friendly with a coworker. That's all the two of you were to one another. Coworkers.

"[Name], I'm afraid I need to pick up a couple things from my house." Klaus spoke up, "Is there something you might need as well?"

"No, I'm good." Klaus was used to you sounding defeated after battles, but he was still worried about you, "I'll just be here... unless nature calls."

"Please don't strain yourself. I'll be back as soon as possible."

Klaus wondered how he could possibly help you. Perhaps he should insist on helping you train, or research your blood blade to see what might be causing it's unpredictability. Then again...

It could be your past keeping you from your full potential.

The idea haunted Klaus, he couldn't fathom being raised as a soldier and not being able to control one's own fighting abilities. It must take its toll on your mental health as well. Perhaps he should just talk to you and see if a little gentle prying could clear up whatever is going on with you.

And yet, you were quite stubborn about not saying anything. It worried Klaus to no end, he didn't want to force you after all. That would just be plain rude. But something had to give...

It was rather late, you opted to stay on the couch instead of trying to lie in a bed. At least on the couch, you'd be able to keep one leg propped up over the back. Klaus didn't think it was ideal, but he couldn't argue with the possibility that you'd injure your leg further if left to a flat bed.

In the hopes that Klaus was far enough away, you murmured under your breath, "Maybe I'm just hopeless."

An answer to a question that Klaus had long since abandoned, but one he couldn't ignore. Turning on his heel to make sure that had come from you, that it wasn't just him projecting an answer you might give in to the quiet open air.

The way your eyes shifted told Klaus exactly what he feared...

"[Name], of course you aren't hopeless." The red-haired man was kneeling beside the couch before you could protest, "You merely need a little assistance with your abilities is all. Once you're feeling better, I'd be more than happy to offer my help. After a little research and training, I'm positive that you'll get the hang of your blade. But you aren't hopeless, not by a long shot."

You remained silent, unwilling to say anything else. Trying to discuss this made you uneasy, as if you were complaining about having something not having the right color. But Klaus was more determined and stubborn than he let on, something you deeply admired until it was used against you.

"Please, let me help you." His voice had such a soft grumble to it, "Before you had a blood blade, you were one of the best hunters the Vatican had to offer. I know that once you master your newer abilities you'll become that formidable fore once again."

He leaned over, gently brushing your hair behind your ear, "Please, allow me to help you [Name]. I'd like to..."

Day 29: Sending Favorite Flowers [x Klaus]

Standing in the office scratching his head, Klaus pondered over who could have sent flowers to the office. And how.

Only a select few people could even access the office of Libra. Let alone deliver things right into the...

"-and I know Klaus, he'll be stubborn about taking care of himself."

What were you doing here?

"Mrx. please, isn't this excessive?" Gilbert was clearly trying to talk sense but, "I'm certain Master Klaus will appreciate all this. Though you being in the building could cause trouble with certain operatives."

"It's late Mr. Gilbert." You retorted, "Who else would be in the office other than Klaus and Steven? Unless you're telling me K.K. is lurking. And the worst that would do is make a mess."

Gilbert was caught. You knew a little too much for someone who didn't know what Libra was. But Klaus was somewhat frozen as you nudged open the door. Carrying a small potted flower in one hand, and a picnic basket in the other.

"L-Liebling?" Klaus forced himself to move, "What's all this?"

Barely making it to the coffee table with your things before Klaus attempted to help, you almost dropped the small chamomile bush. Holding onto both a little tighter for a split second before Klaus adjusted his approach.

"You told me about how much work you had left." You straightened up, "And I know how stubborn you and Steven can be, so I'm just making sure you both get something decent to eat."

Pointing at the small flowering bush, "And I found this at the flower shop. Thought you'd like it, especially for fresh chamomile tea right before it withers."

Hiding the slight pink blush behind a large hand, Klaus didn't get a chance to respond before Steven left his office. The tired, older man followed his nose to the picnic basket, not fully registering that you were in here at all. And not honestly caring, Steven knew you weren't a threat to Libra. Klaus likely wouldn't be with you if you were a danger in the first place.

.

Klaus could barely stop looking at the small plant by morning. To the point that Zapp attempted to tease him about it. An attempt that fell on deaf ears, even as Klaus's face lit up over who gave him these cute little flowers.

Sonic Speed Monkey AU

Sonic Speed Monkey AU

Based on these sketches

Klaus

The second largest (just behind Dog) and the one with the least amount of flight response. His knuckleduster is just a discarded cross necklace that he found. Very protective of the other Speed Monkeys and won't hesitate to rally the rest of Libra to help with things.

.

Steven

He has to constantly find something to activate Esmerelda Blood Freeze, though it has such a limited range that he's more effective just kicking his opponents... No one knows that the excess shadows tailing him are actually his goon squad. Only really loyal to and protective over Klaus.

.

Leo

The smallest little monkey and the one who is constantly and consistently in trouble the most. Squints mostly because of all the sand that gets in his eyes until he found a pair of toy goggles to wear.

.

Zapp

Lil terrorist. Sets fire to a lot of things without activating his blood technique. Usually causing trouble for everyone (especially Klaus and Leo) and gets pissed when little kids call him a "Shiny". But will do whatever you want for enough bananas.

.

Zed

The calmest of them all, but that's because he's a hybrid of Speed Monkey and Sea Monkey. Can breathe both air and water without equipment and has little issue swimming versus jumping (though he hates running with wet fur). He will not hesitate to use his blood trident (especially to snag food from far off).

.

Chain

The most silent of them all, always sneaking around and getting things she wants. Has a massive stash of broken, shiny junk hidden in a little alcove very well hidden from prying eyes.

.

Dog

The largest and sweetest little monkey, except for Deldro being his blood. Usually very popular with small children because of his tame demeanor as he is always getting petted and given treats. Up until Deldro pops out... with his background being very similar with Aligula meshing the two together through (whatever method she was able to do)

.

Gilbert

A very skinny monkey, also a hybrid with natural regenerative abilities. Has looked after Klaus since he was young and keeps up with a small, abandoned playhouse for the Libra Monkeys to gather at. He manages to find all the best food (but almost forces everyone to share if it weren't for Klaus being just as stubborn about that).

.

K.K.

Constantly throwing things that look like guns at people to protect other Monkeys. Keeps up with a large brood of Monkeys as her family, and Libra as a secondary family. As soon as she finds/ makes 'working' guns, she just keeps up with a ton of rocks to fire.

.

Lucky

One of the most serious Monkeys, always carrying a toy suitcase full of scraps of paper from different restaurants so he remembers where the best dumpsters are. Goes all over the city and only occasionally runs with the rest of Libra.

.

Daniel

Annoyed by all the other Monkeys and tries to avoid them... doesn't work at all since he gets into a lot of trouble. Just grumpy all the time and grumbling whenever he has to play nice with Libra.

.

Raju

Vicious Monkey, will not play nice... unless you have food. He fights all the time and has lost feet from having to escape traps. But he still has blood abilities to keep moving and stealing food. Doesn't associate with Libra much... but has been around Zapp and Zed enough to teach them how to survive.

.

Femt

An actual little terrorist trying to cause as much chaos as his little paws can. Can and will bite people, even if given food. Has no problem with releasing all the animals in shelters and pet shops.

.

Aligula

Constantly stalking Dog and being a little terrorist about it. High-speed races through the city trying to get him. She knows how to rig machinery and work vehicles.

Fluff prompt 1 with Klaus please!??

Excuse me while I go giggle~

Fluff 1- Klaus catches his S/O wearing his clothes!

You stood in front of the mirror, giggling to yourself while wearing one of Klaus's shirts. It was beyond oversized on you, threatening to slip off your shoulders and looking more like a dress than a shirt. The only thing you could think to do was wave your arms, sleeves flapping wildly.

Shaking your head, you began to roll up the sleeves. Even if it was one of the shirts Klaus didn't wear anymore. The reasons he considered it a toss shirt were beyond you, except for the small rips at the very bottom. Either way, you had a shirt that was cozy and smelled like Klaus. Despite you choosing to use it while doing chores.

By the time Klaus came home, you were just finishing the meager chores Gilbert had to leave behind. He stopped in the middle of the door, quickly double-taking to stare at you. A slight blush across his face as the realization set in.

"Uh... Liebling?"

"Hm?"

"You look exceptionally cute this evening."

That caused you to stop, tilting your head up at Klaus with a plain look of confusion. Klaus could only think about how adorable you looked while slowly figuring out that you were still wearing his old shirt.

In Uncle lucky story, i don’t understand that ?part”His own family hadn't been close before, and after his parents passed some almost ten years ago the bridges had never been mended. But here Lucky sat, being asked a thousand questions by a pair of wide-eyed, curious babies who just wanted to talk. It felt... good.”

Hm... I was trying to imply that Lucky is estranged from his biological family and has been for nearly a decade. That there was some bad blood between them when Lucky stopped talking to them.

Basically I have a flexible headcanon about HOW Lucky distantanced himself from his family because its near impossible to say which one fits as a whole.

He could have cut ties because they were all toxic.

It could have been for their safety because Lucky cares that much about them.

He could be the youngest living member of his family or they all died at some point long before now.

But the dissonance of having bad blood from your biological family vs Klaus's lil bean collection was something I thought would be at least a little funny. Even if Damien and Evalyn are asking him rapid-fire questions without waiting for answers, talking over each other, and staring with them big ole baby eyes. One that Lucky appreciates since his own family weren't the best (in this instance at least).
