Zapp huffed in annoyance, this was the third time this month you'd turned him down in favor of your boyfriend. Just who was this controlling b-stard? Or were you just that whipped? This wasn't like you at all.
Sure, you seemed happy and Zapp could be happy for you. But his was the exact reason he never let anyone get to him the same way. Nope, free agent till death. Bachelor until he croaks.
He was going to call and see what was really going on, until he saw his Master. The sadistic dish cloth that trained him to use his blood abilities. What was he doing here? Was there some kind of blood breed in the city? No, that was impossible. Zapp would've heard about it long before he'd see that half a b^tch.
So then what was he doing here? Out in the open like that?
Zapp couldn't be sure, but it looked like he was carrying something other than his cane. What the hell?? Now he wasn't acting like himself?? Zapp knew that ragged a$$hole didn't do anything that wasn't practical or logical. So what the ever-loving bloody f#ck was going on with him?
Zapp wasn't very sneaky, but Raju wasn't paying attention to that. He was far too excited to give you the things he'd found during his travels. A small-ish box of random trinkets under his cloak, just barely poking out that he was trying to keep from shaking too much. Raju didn't want the small skulls breaking against the crystals and gem stones.
You had wanted to meet in the middle of the city, a decent café with a particularly sweet caramel covered treat that Raju was quite fond of. Truly the only exception he would accept of you meeting him anywhere except at home. He might respect your agency, but the wouldn't keep him from worrying.
Zapp knew this cafe well. You always liked it for how relaxed it felt. Why would Raju even care about a place like this?
What was going on?
He watched the floating dishrag approach you!!?? Was he dreaming or something? He had to be.
Nope. Zapp's forearm now had a large red welt on it and you were still talking....no flirting....with that sadistic bed sheet. Was this the boyfriend you were ditching him for? Did you need some kind of help? A good night's drinking? Maybe a book to the head. Sushi would let him borrow something, or Chief more likely. It should be a thicker book after all. Really knock some sense into you.
But then he saw something much weirder. Whatever his former teacher had been carrying turned out to be a box, that he was sliding towards you almost shyly?? And you were excited about it???
What were you happily exclaiming over???
Zapp couldn't take this anymore. He had to get to the bottom of this. You might be acting the way you had with other partners, but damn what were you thinking? He was half a body! At best!
"Hey! Unicorn Butt!" Zapp waltzed up to the table, "What's goin' on?"
Raju was not happy about this one bit. His most unruly, inexperienced disciple was insulting his lover. He wanted to set the silver-haired man on fire so badly, yet refrained for fear of you getting injured in the process.
"I thought I told you." You stared up at Zapp as he leaned on the table, "I don't want to go out drinking tonight. I have plans with Raju."
Raju melted a little at your words. And felt a small sense of pride. If you were at least on friendly terms with Zapp, he could accept it. However, saying you'd rather spend time with him made Raju feel so happy.
Zapp wanted to throw up, "You don't want to, or can't?"
"Don't want to bone-head." You frowned at your friend, "So don't push your luck."
Zapp backed off a couple steps, arms up in surrender. That was you alright, not that Raju knew magic like that anyways. Zapp wouldn't put it past his teacher to use some kind of potion or something.
"Alright, alright. Jeez" Zapp turned to walk off, "Just thought I'd check. I know this....uh person. And he can be a bit sadistic."
Raju was immediately on alert. What kinds of stories would he tell you? Would you believe him? Would it alter what you thought of himself?
"You give as much context as a cherry picker." You sighed, "Raju's been nothing but sweet and protective. So nose down before you don't have one."
Zapp backed off more, face flushing. He wasn't expecting that....then again. If you meant enough to this pile of dirty laundry that he acted sweet, then Zapp didn't have anything to worry about. At least not with you getting hurt.
Raju was deeply embarrassed, but also so elated that you'd defend him and tell Zapp off so directly. This would absolutely be an interesting chat later on.

Your whole body was slowly starting to relax. You didn't think Raju could be so vigorous, or so passionate. He wasn't much of a body but he figured out a way to make this work.
He was fully aware that humas needed intimate stimulation after so long in a relationship. And that afterwards, it was customary to cuddle.
Raju made sure he pulled his body puppet into the room before starting, and was settling into it. He wanted you to be comfortable. Not just because it was what would be expected, but because he genuinely cared about you in a way he didn't about any other.
You nestled close to Raju on the side where more of his own body would be against your skin. He didn't fully remove his shawl or helm, you vaguely thought he was just shy. But it was nice, the way he curled the puppet and his own arm around you. It might have felt weird as two different kinds of skin brushed against your own, but you were well use to it.
Despite his seeming shyness, Raju loved to cuddle with you. His own hand gently combing through your hair as the puppet hand traced up and down your back.
You weren't going anywhere soon, but this was nice. You had no intentions to getting away, not when he was wrapped around you. Slowly peppering soft kisses across your raised shoulder.
The weirdest part was his helm bumping against your cheek, almost as if it was nuzzling against you too. The idea of him purposely making his helm do so made you giggle a little.
Raju paused, he secretly adored that sound, "Is there something funny about this?"
"Your helm keeps bumping my cheek."
".....I.....I could remove it." He hesitated to even offer. He hadn't removed his helm in years, even he forgot what he really looked like underneath, "If that would be more comfortable?"
"Its not that." You smiled, "I was just thinking how it looked from the outside."
Raju's head popped up. You couldn't see his face, but it was safe to assume he was confused.
"Your helm is a cow skull right?"
"I believe so, yes."
"And its common for animals to brush up against a face to show affection. Several different kinds do it including cows. So I was giggling because that's what it would look like."
Raju blinked, "That my helm was being affectionate as well?"
You chuckled a bit, nodding. Raju had a sudden idea and very gently nudged your cheek with his helm.
"Like this?"
He was doing this specifically to make you laugh, though he would die before say so out loud. Regardless of how little he said, or how much he tried to keep secret, Raju would always betray himself. Getting you to laugh and smile was one of his favorite things to do in general. While Raju usually succeeded, you were well aware why he was behaving so playfully.
Though he did stop quickly, preferring to cuddle more. Slowly tracing up and down your side while softly kissing along your ear.
He just wanted you to be comfortable. He never has had someone he cared about so deeply. Someone who's happiness would interfere with his training if they asked. Someone who could level him with a glance and make the heavens dance with a wave of their arm.
Maybe Raju would tell you these things, the stranglehold you had on his heart. But for now, he would cuddle you until you both fell fast asleep.
Unexpected [Indulgent Self Insert]
![Unexpected [Indulgent Self Insert]](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4a412e639c0f43df0f50db650a8b684f/90a573464eb604eb-ce/s500x750/55d0a36f968b7f6d38e69f7bf13ba1aa5fe7cfa0.gif)
Uh...yeah....Indulgent self-insert of a separate Pokemon cross over universe. Professor Karume Arjun moves to Hellsalem's Lot since there isn't a professor in that area after deeming it separate from the rest of the United States.
(Klaus)
Klaus leaned back from a game of Prosfair, today they were to help escort several Pokemon transport trucks to a new Lab for one Professor Arjun. She seemed like a well-respected official, if you asked other professors or reasearchers. But the general public weren't too fond of her or her research.
Klaus was mixed himself. On the one hand, seeing those portals rip open the sky some ten years ago, only for these bizarre creatures identified as Pokemon to come spilling forth was terrifying. Second only to The Great Collapse.
On the other, Professor Arjun was a behavioral analyst. Her entire body of published articles were about how to avoid problems with wild Pokemon and proper training methods. So it wasn't like she was doing anything that would get anyone injured.
Perhaps it would be best to not think about it. The only reason Libra was called as an escort was because of how dangerous the Pokemon were. Though, they did have to head out now if they were going to be a proper envoy.
(Professor Arjun)
Waiting for these trucks was the worst, but there was no way around it. Rescued Pokemon were always difficult to transport, especially the ones that suffered the way these had.
Professor Krane called them "Shadow Pokemon". His assistant Rui had coined the term. But really, they just didn't want to be close to humans again. Karume wouldn't want to be close to other humans either, not after being treated like a tool the way these Pokemon had, forced to fight to the death in underground rings.
A soft sigh escaped the tired Professor. Setting up a whole lab with zero help in under three weeks had been no easy task. And her work was barely begining.
The sound of trucks pulling to a stop outside brought the professor back to reality. Her own Pokemon would have to help carry in the cages, specifically her Gardevoir and Gallade. Their psychic abilities would be the safest option.
But first, to make sure the people escorting the Pokemon didn't get themselves hurt.
(Normal)
Leo was hyped to be on this mission. He did idolize Professor Arjun for her work. Even more so when she was helping oversee the training for Michella's seeing-eye Lillipup. It had evolved since then, but it was still the most helpful companion his sister could ask for. More than other people in some cases.
Though that was the extent of it. Leo hadn't really known a time when he wasn't nervous around other Pokemon. Well-trained Pokemon were one thing, he could calm his nerves a little. But the sounds from the back of the truck had suggested nearly wild Pokemon.
Were they wild? Or was it just being in cages that set them off? Leo couldn't be certain.
"So, any idea what this crazy chic is really like? I mean. She works with Pokemon of all things." Zapp was being his usual self, though a hint of nerves was showing, "Like she's gotta have a couple screws loose, right?"
"I'm sure she's perfectly sane." Zed commented, "Her research is quite thorough and her methods can be replicated easily. You're the one with screws loose."
It had not been a very fun trip.
Steven blinked at the rather odd Professor. She fit the whole working with Pokemon part down to a T, physically fit and muscular looking under the lab coat. But also looking a bit wild and bored??? Steven didn't really know what to make of her. This was the Professor sent to Hellsalem's Lot by the League.
Though, she seemed to scan everyone, sizing them all up in one swift glance.
Even Klaus felt somehow small under that gaze, despite being rather kind. The professor was the first to move forward, extending a hand towards Klaus.
"Its nice to meet you, I'm Professor Karume Arjun."
"Klaus von Reinherz." Klaus was ever gentle even in his confusion over being approached so casually, "Would you like some assistance? Or do you have other staff to help unload these Pokemon?"
"Tempting Mr. Reinherz" Professor Arjun smiled warmly, "But I have things handled. I'd rather avoid injury of your people."
Before Klaus could respond, or anyone could really, one of the trucks revved up again. Speeding off with the driver yelling about how Hellsalem's Lot didn't need a professor at all. And before Libra could respond, Professor Arjun was sprinting headlong in that direction.
Klaus instructed Leonardo, Zapp, and Zed to guard the remaining trucks while Chain, K.K. Steven and himself chased down the runaway, and the professor.
Upon turning the corner after the truck, Klaus gasped at seeing such a large Pokemon dashing so nimbly through the streets. Professor Arjun upon its back as if she did this regularly. The large black furred Pokemon leapt gracfully, latching onto the truck and sticking with massive claws sinking into the metal.
Professor Arjun called out, "Trix. Tor."
A Gallade and Gardevoir appeared in a burst of light, using their psychic powers to steady themselves and lift the truck off the ground. Professor Arjun dismounted her Luxray and returned him to the Pokeball.
Steven marveled at the sheer prowess of the Pokemon, more so at the person currently controlling them with ease. Was this the true power of having a loyal Pokemon by one's side?
Gilbert pulled the car around safely to the side and stopped. Even he had to stop and stare a few moments at someone so capable of commanding these powerful creatures without a word. Perhaps the Professor could teach him this kind of training. Head Maid Catherine Bates had hinted in her last call about an update in training Pokemon after Master Reinherz Sr. had discovered this professor's research.
Professor Arjun floated gently down, watching intently as Trix, her Gardevoir, and Tor, her Gallade, carefully extracted the driver from the cab of the truck. She was certain that the police had been informed and would wait, at least until she didn't have to worry about someone attempting to shoot the back of the truck.
She wasn't waiting long as Trix and Tor lowered the truck to a smattering of applause. Klaus and Steven felt their jaws drop as the Professor praised her Pokemon before returning them to their Pokeballs.
K.K. was standing off to the side, she really came all this way with them just to watch a kick a$$ professor do their job but better. Well, at least with far less damage then they could really do. But she had to admit, those were some cool looking creatures. One absolutely beautiful the other more stead fast.
K.K. considered looking into a pet Pokemon for her boys, given how Leo had gushed about his sister's assistant Pokemon. Chain on the other hand was more impressed with the over-sized fluffy Pokemon the Professor had ridden.
â– â– â–
Klaus was passing by the lab with Steven. Nearly a month had passed since they first met the professor. While she had remained a relatively quiet and polite person, only ever interfering in incidents involving Pokemon, Klaus had several burning questions for her.
Steven could tell this, he'd spent long enough by Klaus's side to just know when he needed external permission to follow his whims.
"Why don't we see about making an appointment to chat with Professor Arjun? Worst that could possibly happen is she's booked until New Years."
Klaus chuckled a tiny bit, unaware he was even showing any kind of intrigue in the building they were about to pass.
"I don't see why we couldn't check upon it in person."
Steven smirked a bit, turning back to enter the lab. Yep, he knew his red-haired friend a little too well sometimes.
Both were met with quite the sight though. Professor Arjun had a large flying scorpion Pokemon clinging to her back. Not to mention several smaller Pokemon following her every step. It was a wonder she was able to move at all without tripping.
"Yes, I understand the delay. Of course. Yes, thank you." Professor turned, sliding her phone into her shirt pocket with a sigh, "Can I help you gentlemen?"
Of course she didn't miss a beat. Though Klaus was a bit nervous to see so many Pokemon all at once.
"Good afternoon Professor." Steven broke the ice, "We were hoping to set up a short meeting to discuss a couple things."
Professor Arjun opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off by her phone. Instead having to answer.
"Hello. Professor Arjun speaking."
Were there no other staff members here? Why was she swarmed with Pokemon? Klaus had more questions and still no answers. Though she was polite about having to take a call from Professor Sonia Magnolia.
Their conversation was about the still continuing space-time rifts that popped up from time to time. They were mostly avoidable, but every so often they were random and rather distructive. Yet the Pokemon found inside were never any more dangerous than any other found naturally.
"Forgive me for that." Professor Arjun turned to Klaus and Steven again, "You were saying?"
"We would like to schedule a meeting Professor." Klaus was a little too nervous and was talking louder than he intended, "To discuss possible assistance in training our own Pokemon."
Professor Arjun's eyebrow raised up, threatening to disappear in her hair, "Training for what precisely? To battle competitively, raise as pets, or field work?"
"Field work. Similar to how you use your own Pokemon in confrontations."
"Hm..." Klaus relaxed as she did, but still waited with baited breath, "That's rather difficult training. Quite extensive. And you aren't exactly affiliated with the police or I would've seen you before now."
Both were sweating a little around the collar.
"If you have a moment right now. I could at least get a couple answers before giving my own. It sounds odd, but so will the questions I need to ask." Klaus and Steven looked at each other with suspicious looks, "Would you step into my office? Uh...my private office. I don't think discussing this in an room where anyone can burst in is a good idea."
Both nodded at the Professor and followed her into a rather small office covered in small pet beds with a comfortable looking tiny sofa and desk. The Pokemon dispersed to various beds and playing with one another, except the Gligar across her back, which stayed attached to her as she sat on a stool, offering the more comfortable seating to her guests. Klaus eased onto the couch while Steven sat in the chair.
"So, you mentioned field work. That wouldn't happen to be like....fang hunting field work, would it?"
Klaus sat forward, his surprise mirrored by Steven, "Absolutely what we meant. Do you have experience with fang hunters?"
"Very little. One man called 'Lucky' I think. Poor man was being followed by a wild Absol." Professor Arjun leaned back a little, "I figured out fairly quickly why but he was very talkative about....blood breeds?"
Steven groaned. Of course Lucky would be lowkey trying to recruit a powerful Pokemon trainer, "Yes, its the term we use for vampires. Its a more accurate term."
"Ah....then I wouldn't recommend you train Pokemon."
Klaus furrowed his brow, "How come Professor?"
"I'm sure there's no lack of skill or dedication in either of you nor your team. But the training itself is extensive and time consuming." Professor Arjun looked apologetic, "And from what little information I do have. You don't have a lot of time to spare between your jobs to fully train a Pokemon, let alone a team."
Klaus and Steven blinked slowly at the concern. The logical concern.
"Buuuuut, if you're dead set on doing so. I will do what I can to help you. I just can't recommend it with a clear conscious."
"We deeply appreciate the concern Professor." Klaus bowed his head slightly, "Though I assure you we can take our time training Pokemon properly. Though it's likely going to take longer than you're thinking since our job will take obvious priority over training."

Raju couldn't believe this city. So many threats, so many true monsters that needed to be put down. Who would ever choose to live in all this? And why did his huma lover do so?
He couldn't keep track of everything going on around himself, until he noticed you in the midst of battle. Cornered by a small demon beast. Before Raju could get close enough to help, you punted the creature into the side of a building.
Raju stopped a just close enough to see that the force of the kick had killed it on contact with the building. The limp body of an experimental beast for his proof.
When did you get to be strong enough to do that? Or have you always been this strong? How did he not notice? Maybe humas are just shy about their strength.
Regardless, Raju wouldn't be comfortable until he made sure you were fine. You were quite use to these check ups. Resigning to let your overprotective partner check for any kind of bump or bruise.
"Where did you learn to do that?" Raju insisted, "How long have you been that strong?"
"Um..." You looked at him, bewildered, "I just kicked it. I don't need a ton of strength to do that. Besides, humans' legs are usually stronger than their arms given how much we use our legs."
Raju floated still, he never knew that about humas. He still had much to learn.

Raju didn't really understand why his lover seemed so excited. Nor did he understand their purchase of oddly wrapped packages. Just that they didn't want him opening any of them.
Raju's curiosity should be sated by the end of the night however. He helped his partner move the boxes of wrapped...objects outside to a small concrete patch just on the other side of the road. They seemed rather excited at least, so perhaps this was suppose to be a good thing?
The sun went down and while Raju was weary of the match book in his lover's hands, he knew they'd be perfectly safe. Especially with him right there. But he couldn't help but worry.
At least once you lit the now obvious fuse, you backed up a good bit. But now Raju was even more concerned than excited. Did you just light a bomb of some kind?
Fweeeoooo! BOOM!
Raju ducked for cover and tried pulling you down with himself. But you tugged away, confused. Had he really never seen fireworks before?
"You don't need to duck Raju." You tilted your head at him, "Its just fireworks. Haven't I told you about them?"
"Fireworks?" Raju floated still, "I believe I've heard the term. But I could use a refresher."
"They basically explode into what looks like a lot of colorful stars. Here. Let me light another, just look upwards okay?"
Raju trusted you at least and did what you asked. Looking up at the sky when you did.
Fweeeeooo! BOOM!
Despite Raju's fight or flight response kicking in, he couldn't deny that it was rather colorful. The falling sparkles and fading lights made for a pretty little display. Though for such a loud noise, it was very short lived.
What Raju didn't know was that these were merely a precursor to a small party of your friends coming over with various beers and wine coolers. And their own set of fireworks to set off.
Raju thought someone should remain sober, until he saw how little alcohol was in the wine coolers you were drinking. Then he allowed himself to relax. You could handle your liquor in small doses like this after all.
And Raju liked the taste of the wine coolers, not so much the beer however. You weren't sure how many he had to drink, but the way he was hanging on you. You felt he might have had one too many. At least his job was fairly slow work. He would have plenty of time to recover tomorrow.

Leo was just glad the stone walk-up theatre was still standing after the last moving of Count Gigagigafutmassif through the city. He had really been looking forward to this all week. Though, he couldn't understand why they'd be showing a scary movie at all.
He really hoped you were enjoying the movie, because he wasn--
Leo's entire thought process was suddenly cut off by the tugging on his sleeve. When he looked, you were burying your face in his sleeve. A sudden burst of confidence flooded Leo's mind as the realization dawned on him.
You were looking to him for comfort and safety.
You knew Leo had nothing to do with the movie choice, and that he would be far more comfortable out in public for dates. But why did they have to show a Friday the 13th movie? You hated the jump scares especially. It didn't help that your older cousin had terrorized you on camping trips specifically, making this movie feel 100x more realistic.
You were just glad to have Leo near by to cling to. Sure, he wasn't much bigger than you, but he has stood up to much larger Beyondians before. You sorta wondered how he was so brave, maybe it was the job he kept running off to.
He always did seem a bit tired afterwards.
You felt Leo nudge you, "Hey, [Name]. Its okay, its calm again."
The relieved grin Leo received as you looked up, Leo really wanted a picture. Though it didn't take long for you to bury your face back into his shoulder.
