(I disagree with a lot of things in the films, but making Peeta a short king was *chef's kiss*)

Dean Casca Highbottom apologizing to Lucy Gray for what she's been through and spending the rest of his life regretting ever uttering the concept of the hunger games out loud and deeming it his worst mistake and hating Dr Gaul for taking it that far despite him repeatedly asking her not to and hating Crassus Snow for stealing the idea and giving it to Dr Gaul and hating himself for coming up with it even if he was drunk and being defined by it for the rest of his life

J. Robert Oppenheimer "I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds" spending the rest of his life trying to denounce the use of his life's work and trying and failing to take back control of it and saying he has blood on his hands and being awarded and forever defined by it
