sally listened to aurora with a smile. she loved how excited the blonde could get over things.. and she couldn’t help but laugh lightly over her comment on freeing britney. “yes, it’s very exciting.” she agreed, “but, this is going to be the year of you learning britney. not just the classics. all of it.” okay, maybe sally was a britney fan but she grew up in that era. how could you expect anything less. “i could even teach you the …baby one more time! choreo!” the older woman side shimmying her shoulders a bit. 

       ❛  ALL  OF  IT ?  BUT  SHE  HAS  SO  MANY  ALBUMS  &  SONGS !  ❜   and  yet  the  idea  of  learning  multiple  choreographies ,  all  with  the  help  of  a  dear  friend  was  all  too  exciting  to  aurora .  it  might  as  well  help  her  keep  her  thoughts  in  place ,  distracted  from  the  little  voice  in  her  head  constantly  reminding  her  that  she  was  not  as  safe  as  she  thought  she  would  be ,  nor  were  her  loved  ones .  including  sally .  giggling  as  the  brunette  shimmied  her  shoulders ,   the  princess  clasped  both  hands  together .  ❛  that  is  such  a  fun  song ,  i  would  love  to  learn  the  moves !  is  it  your  favorite ?  i  should  buy  you  the  vinyl  record  for  your  birthday ...   i’ve  heard  it’s  pink !  ❜

“   𝐎𝐇   𝐈𝐓’𝐒   𝐖𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐔𝐋   !   it   feels   like   a   fresh   start.   a   new   year,   full   of   new   possibilities.   anything   can   happen.   it’s   such   a   rush   to   feel.   oh,   yes!   that   was   amazing.   i’m   so   glad   she’s   freed.   ”      reagan   could   only   imagine   how   miss   britney   felt.   she   too   had   also   experienced   freedom   herself   and   it   was   life   changing   to   say   the   least.   “she   must   be.   it’s   only   natural.”   the   princess   beamed   at   her   friend.      “   are   there   any   resolutions   you   have   for   the   new   year   ,   rora   ?   ”

         ❝  DO YOU KNOW WHAT EXACTLY  she  has  been  freed  from ?  i’m  afraid  i  haven’t  been  keeping  up  with  britney ...  but  i  certainly  should .  i  do  hope  it  wasn’t  a  curse  of  sorts .  ❞  the  thought  alone  makes  her  shiver  in  fear ,  knowing  how  much  of  a  weight  that  could  be .  curses  could  dictate  people’s  lives ;  it  certainly  dictated  a  good  part  of  aurora’s ,  &  she  wouldn’t  want  the  same  for  britney .  ❝  oh ,  of  course !  it’s  one  of  my  favorite  parts  of  the  new  year .  let’s  see ...  right ,  one  of  my  biggest  resolutions  is  to  spend  some  time  with  philip’s  brothers !  i  think  he  would  appreciate  it  if  it  did ,  and  i  have  no  siblings  of  my  own  so  i  think  it  could  be  nice .  maybe  they’ll  even  help  me  surprise  him  sometime ,  ❞  a  thought  that  brought  a  bright  smile  to  the  princesss’  lips .   ❝  i’ve  also  been  thinking  about  adopting  a  little  friend ,  maybe  a  puppy  or  a  bunny ...  what  about  you ,  reagan ?  ❞

“   𝐈   𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓   !   I   just   overheard   a   few   people   talking   about   it   at   mama   ode’s.   something   about   her   father   ?   I   don’t   think   it   was   a   curse   !   regardless   of   what   she’s   free   from   i’m   glad   she’s   free.   ”      it   seemed   as   though   freedom   was   finally   being   bestowed   upon   many   individuals   who   deserved   it.      “   that   sounds   wonderful.   i   didn’t   know   philip   had   brothers.   what   are   they   like   ?   are   they   as   daring   as   he   is?   oo,   that’s   true.   like   for   his   birthday   !   ”      the   closest   person   the   princess   had   to   a   sibling   was   cassandra.   her   best   friend   was   certainly   a   sister   figure   of   sorts.   she   also   felt   she   held   a   big   sister   role   towards   varian.   if   she   was   being   honest   she   also   was   growing   to   see   aurora   as   a   sister   which   was   nice   considering   she   too   was   an   only   child.      “   you   should.   little   companions   make   life   exciting.   picasso’s   been   my   best   friend   for   years.   I   don’t   know   if   I   have   any   resolutions.   I   haven’t   thought   about   them   really.   I   think   if   i   had   to   do   one   thing   great   this   year   it’s   that   I   hope   i’m   a   good   mom   to   my   son.   he’ll   be   here   soon.   it’s   scary   to   think   but   also   really   exciting.   ”

          VIOLET EYES BECOME WIDE  with  surprise .  ❛  her  father ?!  my  goodness ...  how  strange ,  i’d  always  thought  that  a  father’s  priority  would  be  their  child’s  happiness .  i’m  also  glad ,  i  don’t  truly  think  she  was  very  happy .  ❜   and  it  saddened  her  to  think  of  the  possibility .  at  least  aurora  knew  that  in  her  case ,  her  parents  sent  her  away  out  of  love ,  for  her  own  safety .  it  was  the  one  certainty  she  had .  rosy  lips  curl  into  a  smile  when  her  friend  asks  about  her  husband’s  family ,  a  light  hint  of  pink  coloring  aurora’s  cheeks .  ❛  two  brothers ,  yes !   he’s  is  the  youngest .  i  suppose  florian  can  be  a  bit  daring ,  though  not  in  the  same  way  as  philip   ─   he  might  be  a  bit  too  daring  i’m  afraid .  ❜  she  tells  reagan ,  giggling .   ❛  as  for  kit ,  well ...  he’s  a  bit  different ,  more  traditional  i  believe ,  but  he’s  kind .  they  all  are ,  i  think  he  just  has  a  particular  way  of  seeing  things  &  expressing  himself .  ❜  in  all  fairness ,  there  was  still  a  part  of  aurora  that  wasn’t  sure  kit  liked  her  much ,  nor  that  he  saw  her  as  family .  philip’s  reassurance  always  helped  with  that ,  but  still ;  it  was  distressing  to  feel  as  though  she  had  to  prove  something  to  her  love’s  brother .  ❛  i  agree ,  i  used  to  have  so  many  little  friends  back  home !  i  hope  they  haven’t  forgotten  about  me .  how  do  you  think  picasso  will  react  when  the  baby’s  here ?  ❜  gently ,  she  took  the  other  girl’s  hands  and  gave  them  a  light  squeeze .  ❛  now ,  you’ll  be  a  wonderful  mom ,  i  just  know  it !  have  you  thought  of  a  name  yet ?  i  have  no  experience  with  babies  but  if  there’s  anything  you  need ,  do  let  me  know .  ❜

   “   𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓   𝐈𝐒   𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒   spotify   wrapped   and   how   does   it   work   ?   ”      philip   asked   as   he   looked   at   his   phone.   he   had   been   scrolling   through   twitter   and   saw   many   people   talking   about   spotify   wrapped.   to   the   prince   it   looked   as   though   to   be   quite   the   event   so   of   course   he   wanted   to   participate.      “   i   was   told   this   wrap   defines   me   as   a   person   is   that   true   ?   ”   

              ❝  EVEN THOUGH I DOUBT  i  could  ever  find  a  collection  of  songs  that  describe  you  with  perfect  accuracy ,  ❞  the  princess  began ,  raising  her  eyebrows  as  she  moved  her  gaze  from  the  phone  screen  and  towards  philip ,   ❝  it’s  supposed  to  be  something  like  that ,  yes .  this  spotify  thing  remembers  all  of  the  songs  you’ve  listened  to  all  through  the  year ,  including  their  genre  &  how  many  times  you’ve  listened  to  the  song  .  even  the  artist !  ❞  looking  at  the  device  in  her  own  hands ,  aurora  opened  her  spotify  and  started  scrolling  through  her  liked  songs .  ❝  i  have  no  idea  how  they  remember  all  of  this ,  but  they  do .  could  be  magic .  ❞

        “ I DON’T REALLY GET IT, ” flynn admitted. the actual event seemed kind of arbitrary … but that didn’t stop him from joining in. “ but i must say, this city knows how to celebrate. ” elias had been full of color for the holiday season, a refreshing change from disorder and debris.  “ now, your friend britney - was she captured ? locked away in a tower ? ” his voice was quiet, laced with concern. “ wouldn’t be my first time running into that scenario, if you’d believe it. ”

           ❛  YOU DON’T ?  WELL ,  is  there  a  reason  for  that ?  i  do  hope  i’m  not  prying ,  ❜  yet  she  couldn’t  help  being  curious  about  his  lack  of  excitement  for  the  year .  it  made  aurora  wonder  if  she  should  simply  drop  the  topic  but  alas ,  the  princess  was  already  invested .  at  the  mention  of  the  pop  star  in  question ,  she  laughed  lightly ,  ❛  oh ,  i  don’t  know  britney !  as  a  matter  of  fact  i  don’t  know  anyone  aside  from  the  people  of  elias .  ❜  except  for  her  aunts ,  though  that  was  a  detail .  ❛  i  do  hope  she  wasn’t  locked  away  in  a  tower ,  that  sounds  terribly  uncomfortable ...  were  you  in  that  sort  of  situation  yourself ?  ❜
