So, in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there're been Poké Portal News events providing special Mass Outbreaks through the summer. First we had the Pikachu line, then the three varieties of Tatsugiri, now we have Wattrel outbreaks in Paldea, Riolu in Kitakami... and Comfey in the Blueberry Academy Terarium. You have to wonder if the teachers there sometimes have to wrangle the Pokemon outbreaks if they get too disruptive. Well, since I have a certain rabbit teaching there, he got tasked with handling a bouquet of Comfey that were bothering students in the Savanna Biome...

...It could be going better.
(No one tell him he'll have to worry about Beldum outbreaks in a few weeks.)

He stumbled over to the water's edge, his heavier frame hitting the sand with a loud thud, joints unmuffled by a missing biomechanical musculature. He struggled to drown out the voice of the thing in his head—of the Krana—telling him to calm down and that everything would be alright and that "oh, your life will be so much better now!" and other worthless platitudes. He craned his neck to lean towards the water, elongated eyes pleading with the liquid surface to show him HIM, that pitiful 'Su-Matoran' clad in orange and white armor, Kakama resting on his face… …Only for his heartlight to shatter. There, staring back, was the insectoid face he had touched with his new, shield-clad hands. The tusks that he felt his hyperventilating breath pass over. The faceplate, transparent, with the Krana visible underneath where there should be just his own brain. The body of something he had only heard horror stories about; enlarged, warped, built for rolling around, for getting places quickly, for cleaning all that must be cleaned. There was no hope, now, of denying his fate. He was… a Bohrok.
And here's what I've worked on for 810NICLE Day!! As we know, the Bohrok in Bionicle canon are transformed Av-Matoran, stripped of their identity and autonomy to become the workforce ensuring the cleaning of Mata Nui's camouflage when it became necessary... Or, for rampaging over said camouflage while it's inhabited by Matoran due to a certain Makuta's long-running schemes. They're both the same to the Swarm. After I first learned about that detail, way back when, a little nugget of a story idea entered my mind: What if a Matoran transformed into a Bohrok, outside of the Matoran Universe? What if it was not just an Av-Matoran, but one that had been living their life assuming they were another type of Matoran due to them being scattered across the universe for their safety. And what if they retained their identity, their autonomy, due to the circumstances of their transformation? What would they do in response...? It's a story that I would love to work on, though admittedly it's not had much laid out beyond this opening scene. What could happen to this former SuAv-Matoran and his unwanted Krana companion? Who's to say... As a thanks for sitting and reading all that, here's a timelapse of this drawing!

My next Art Fight attack has arrived! It's the adorable ferrets Nico (brown) and Haru (white), belonging to Team Stardust member OF711! Ferrets are quite adorable, aren't they? Part of me wishes I had one as a pet... Then again I already have four cats to deal with :P

"Beware, adventurer, if you plan to journey to the Akai Woodwastes... for those who survive in the fog, live only for fear and blood."
An old digital art piece! It was inspired by something I'd been doing with a friend around the time it was drawn (the location name is unique to me, though), and as one of my earlier forays into digital backgrounds it holds up pretty well! The adventurer does stand out a bit too much against the drab colors, in hindsight—were I making this today I would definitely add shading to mute his tones. (My sharing this here was partly inspired by how foggy it was this afternoon...)
Happy 810NICLE Day, everyone! As a long-time Bionicle fan, I have something in the works that I hope is finished by the end of today, but in the meantime I have another thing to share: a digital recreation of my personal OC from the BZPower days.

Yes, way back in my elementary and middle school days, I was a member of BZPower under the name Lewanuva210—which I'd used in a few other places, most of them LEGO-related—and while I didn't interact with the site much I was enthused by the sprite comics and script comedies that its forums hosted. I even cobbled together some characters through sprite kits like Innerrayg's 2.0 & 3.0 and Dark709's Chimoru kit to make a webcomic of my own! ...It didn't last long. The first had a little over 18 comics and 4 interludes of varying quality, and the second (which was set in a web browser, such was my sense of novelty) only made it to four pages before I abandoned it. (To the two permanent guest stars I added in that last pitiful page of the comic, forgotten to time, I humbly apologize.) Short-lived though it was, it was one of my first forays into full-on art projects, and I would love to sit down and work on a new comic series someday! Either focusing on the worlds of my OCs, or retelling the Pokemon games I've played over the years. Or maybe both!
