artist in denial of being depressed: omg this 2 month long art block has been crazy... sorry i haven't updated any of my fics in a long while! it's just been super difficult to daydream! so weird that i've lost a little bit of passion for my current comfort character and ocs... this couldn't possibly have any implications or alternative explanations
It's a pretty good fighting game, if you're curious. And I agree—this is some pretty good art!
[Reblogs are appreciated ^^]

"you're the writer, you control how the story goes" no not really. i wrote the first sentence and then my characters said "WE WILL TAKE IT FROM HERE" and promptly swerved into an electrical fence.
"Sometimes it all just feels…pointless. But it's not. Not if you have people who care about you. Good memories can do a lot. Hold onto them. And cherish the people around you. You never know when they'll be gone. In this world, the worst thing you can do is…make someone think they're not wanted or loved."
My friends and I watched Episode 3 of The Amazing Digital Circus yesterday, and while most of the episode wasn't the best we'd seen (not to say it was bad, obviously!), we all had to agree... That conversation between Kinger and Pomni? Absolute highlight. Props to both Sean Chiplock and Lizzie Freeman for their performances, they really knocked it out of the park.
If you want to see a timelapse of me drawing Kinger and Queenie's final moment together, it's below the cut.
Stealing potatoes? I know a guy who can do that! ...Whatcha mean the metaphor got the better of me...?
congratulations piracy

I said a while back that Ghostie's species, while called ghosts, aren't actually ghosts, at least in the spectral sense. Well, how's about I share a little picture to explain?
Here's a picture of Ghostie as he was hatching! Yep, ghosts in his world are actually closer to highly-evolved snakes than anything, and they're born in roughly the same way—the biggest difference is that ghost eggs, while still softer than most, are more rigid. In-universe, the word "Ghost" comes from an old language's word for snake, Ghos. Those of the incorporeal kind tend to be called spirits or specters. And you see those nubs on his shoulders there? Over time, those nubs will pop off and grow into the floating mitts all ghosts have! Ghosts in this world have mild telekinetic abilities, though this tends to be limited to manipulating the neurons of their detached hands—or prosthetics, should it come to that. At birth, they're little more than cute bumps that flap about as they slither around. One final nugget of knowledge for you: This picture, of Ghostie taking his first breath in the world, is one that his father Pete treasures dearly—he will never miss a chance to embarrass his son by showing it to any houseguests.
Just be careful about your place in the race before you try anything risky.

Has this joke been made yet?
First you procrastinate on the task because it is not a big enough deal to get done urgently. Then you procrastinate on the task because it has become such a big deal that doing it is overwhelming. You would think that this implies a middle point where it is just big enough of a deal to get done easily, however the inherent perversity of the universe's causal geometry prevents this
Ghost hug! (Ghostie's are also redeemable as snake hugs!)

YES! More Cassette Beasts fans, please. I absolutely adore every part of this game, from the story, to the designs, to the music. I’m only at the starting quests rn, but I love every character I come across. I know I’ll be willing to put in the time to complete the beastiary.
I already bought Pier of the Unknown, and am looking forward to trying it out. I love the clowns, little red riding wolf, and the rocket dudes that want to actually go to space!
Glad to meet someone else enjoying the game as much as I am! I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy the game at first, but as someone now going through and ranking all the beasts in a tier list with my friends, I can say this: A lot more are knockout designs than I originally expected. (Except Scampire, he stinky) I definitely want to draw more of these beasts in the future!

Thinking tomorrow, I'm going to start sprinkling in art reblogs with my art, not just the occasional text post. Something I probably should've started doing ages ago, but nothing wrong with elevating the art of the people I follow here on Tumblr. (It'll also help keep this blog going with how slow I am at making art, but shhhhhhhhh)
Yesterday evening, my friends and I were back in Cassette Beasts, finishing up the last of the things that we hadn't yet finished in the game—namely, the Fossil Quarry questline, and the entirety of the Pier of the Unknown DLC. The short story told in the latter was more touching than we expected, and the three of us ended up spending a lot of time afterwards getting a bit philosophical with the characters and ideas presented to us. Afterwards, I knew I wanted to draw something related to the DLC, so I picked one of the beasts that I recorded and used during my trip to Brightside Pier, the Lightning-type Lapacitor! And I'd say I captured the energy of this battery-bunny-thing quite well. Here's hoping there's more content for this wonderful game in the future!
it's the start of the week, there's still time!
