So the NFL posts this on their Instagram today

As a part of the LGBTQ community, and a MASSIVE NFL fan, I was so happy and I thought this was super cool!! And the caption was very nice and thoughtful.

And then I read the comments and for a second, I’m like “wow, I really don’t belong here”

It’s SO disheartening to be so committed to a fan base only for that fan base to just flat out reject you and disrespect you.

To be so passionate about something, just for people to say you don’t belong.

To think that my passion for watching the NFL made me a part of something so big, when in reality that “something” would rather have me gone.

Not to start out this pride month on a depressing note, but it was just something I get like I had to share with everyone.

It’s not about companies taking advantage of pride month to gain support. They’re at least trying to make people feel like they belong, or that they mean something.

It’s about the people who disrespect and try to invalidate the LGBTQ community, even though I sit down every Sunday morning to watch my favorite team play, and yell at the refs when they miss an obvious penalty. I’m no different than any other NFL fan.

In short, thank you to the NFL for making a beautiful pride post, and fuck all the homophobic armchair quarterbacks at home who would definitely suck Tom Brady’s dick if they had the chance 🤡
