JACKTHORN ZOMBIES RECIPE
Drinking Zombies tonight. Transitions. Life to death, but from death, life. What had seemed dead may well be rising. Is it a monster to be feared, or the riding of a sacred power in fleshly clothing? Sons leave the homes of their fathers. Loves die, loves are born. Childhood is sprained and tested and traumatized. Strength is summoned too soon. Hearts ride on music, and spirits, and warming nights. Cool breezes in windows that had long been closed. Thorns and brambles, long roads, summer nights. The sweet ecstatic creeping of divinity over my bewildered and adoring tongue.
JackTHorn Zombies Over ice, mix: 1 oz lime juice 2 oz apple juice 1 dash grenadine 1 dash peach schnapps 1 oz dark rum 1 oz coconut rum 1 oz Sailor Jerry spiced rum 4 oz pineapple juice Then top with a green maraschino cherry, a red one, and a big chunk of fresh cut pineapple, all impaled on a toothpick. Lose your brains.
I like that. It's always good to know which godmasks you work best with, most comfortably. Though sometimes, especially with certain deities and archetypes, leaving the comfort zone is occasionally necessary as well. =)
And Gin, my humble thoughts, if you don't mind too much...
In no particular order:
I agree whole-heartedly with 4, but with an asterisk -- the divinity behind the godmask is bigger than our comprehension, but the godmask must by definition be largely within our comprehension, that is the purpose it serves.
It seems to me that by saying 1, you became guilty of 3.
I like and agree with the intention of 3, but... We CANNOT trap Him. Cutting ourselves off from Him is more likely, but even that, I think not (ask Pentheus about that).
And as for 1, my first trivial response is "Says who?" Though ultimately I wouldn't really argue that point -- largely because, when it comes down to it, applying sexual orientation to a deity just seems, well, silly, trite, petty, and just plain missing the larger context of the things of which we speak. Like saying that Apollo is a Republican, or that Shiva prefers Star Trek to Star Wars.
Just my thoughts and reactions, though. Of course.

JACKTHORN'S "IRISH FLAG" SHOTS
Orange Whiskey mixture: Your favorite Irish whiskey (Jameson, Bushmills, Redbreast, whatever) with a drop or two of Grenadine. Stir until the hue is right.
In tall clear double-shot glasses, layer green Creme De Menthe, then Irish Cream, then the orange whiskey mixture. The order is important, because higher gravity liquids float on lower gravity ones.
Layering is best done over the rounded back of a small spoon, or teaspoon, or melon baller. Pour the second and third liqueurs over the tool, slowly and steadily, so they don't mix. Ideally the liquid should hit the rounded tool and spread over it, but the tool should be tilted down to touch the side of the glass, so the liquid hits the side of the glass and is further slowed.
Any questions?

The Spring Equinox is the time that Persephone, Queen of the Underworld and Maiden of Spring, returns to the world above. She is relinquished by Pluto, or Lord Hades, ascending to the Light to rejoin Her Mother, the Earth Goddess Demeter. The Earth rejoices, and the Winter recedes; the plants grow again, flowers bloom, and leaves grow again on the trees.
